This was my first visit to Fox Chapel Dry Cleaners, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing…read moreexperience. I brought in five of my husband's dress shirts for cleaning, and when I picked them up a week later, they were noticeably wrinkled and in worse shape than when I dropped them off. Since it was my first time using this cleaner, I carefully looked over the shirts on the spot and brought my concerns to the attention of the staff. One of the first responses I received was, "That's what you get when you pay $4.50"--which felt dismissive rather than helpful. I was told this is how all their shirts typically come out. I pointed out specific areas on the garments that were not acceptable, but my concerns were met with shrugs and no acknowledgment of the issue. Instead of an apology or offer to make things right, one of the attendants began explaining the difference between dry cleaning and hand pressing, which I found unnecessary since I managed a laundromat and have experience working with a dry cleaner in Dormont. I explained that not only do I understand the process, but I also know what a properly finished shirt should look like. Seeing I wasn't getting anywhere with the staff, I left my name and number in hopes of a follow-up from the owner. I called back again today to ask if Mark, the owner, received the message. I was told he had, but I have yet to receive a response--and honestly, I no longer expect one. I rarely leave reviews, especially negative ones, but I felt compelled to share my experience in hopes it helps others. Based on the lack of quality and the unprofessional customer service, I would not recommend this dry cleaner. I've also included photos of the shirts for reference.

New to the area.... One star is aggressive…read more I can't rate the quality of the alterations yet, but for reference: I had 2 dresses with an inch split in the slit, one pair of pants - one leg needed hemmed, one suit jacket the bottom needed hemmed, one jumper that had an inch hole in the bottom that needed stitched and a spaghetti strap jumper that one of the straps needed touched up on. $267. Outrageous. That is not even what drove me to take the time to write the post... the women who own it - I assume- are RUDE. Downright disgusting and rude. I would not recommend. YOU women are a service business, if you don't like it, don't do it. Have some class and respect for people. I will not return. Thanks to the alteration woman. She is the only reason they get one star.

Checked with folks in the back about my alternative bad idea. And then they fixed it within a few minutes for a very reasonable price. And I agree with the young man, "it is the least ugly option." You can try your garments on in store and have them pinned by an employee so you can see you're getting the fit you want. One employee came in for the first pair I had on, pinned them quickly, and told me that they were good. For my second pair a different employee came in and told me that they recommend getting a smaller size, as there was too much fabric to alter the jeans effectively. I thought it was odd that they could work with one pair and not the other, but they are different fits and I don't know anything about hemming pants. I paid for the one pair of jeans to be altered and returned the other pair to the store and ordered more. I dropped the jeans off on a Monday midday, and I was told that I could pick them up anytime after 5pm that Thursday. I went on Friday at 4pm to pick them up and was asked to wait 30 minutes for them to finish up. Annoying, but fine. I came back in after 30 minutes and a different employee said they don't know why I was asked to wait. They could not alter the pants. She then brought out the unaltered jeans, pinned but not worked on, and said that she would recommend I get another size. This is the first time they are telling me they can't work on the pants I paid for Monday and that were supposed to be done the day prior. No phone call, nothing. At this point I had the other pair of jeans that I had ordered after my visit on Monday. I was desperate for the jeans to fit in time for a trip, so I left them with the new pair. I was told that for my trouble she would rush the new pair I dropped off and have them done on the following Tuesday after 4pm. I went on Tuesday at 4:30. They were not done. I was asked to wait 30 minutes, I ended up waiting an hour. The pants fit well at the waist, but then I had to wait for them to pin them to be taken up. I was told that I could pick the pants up that following Saturday after 3pm. Spoiler alter - THEY WEREN'T DONE! The employee behind the counter asked if I really needed them done and seemed annoyed when I said that I did. They rush hemmed them and got them to me in 20 minutes. This was the worst customer service I've received in a long time, and while the result was good, I don't think it was worth the hassle. It was $40 to get the jeans taken in at the waist and $13 for the hem. If you just need a hem, or you have the patience to be told something different every time you speak to an employee, I think you'll be fine. I would not recommend.
