You dont need a career in the wine industry or WSET L3 certification to know this place is a must stop for any wine lover. Their estate fruit is wonderful, sourced from cultivars hailing from the Great Lakes. I highly suggest grabbing a flight and enjoying the breathtaking views from the patio.

I love Fox Fire Farms! They have some of the tastiest wines around -- my favorite is the Mandarin Orange Muscat. I purchase a bottle every single time I come here. You can sit outside or inside; they also offer cheese boards to go with your wine tastings. Currently, Richard, the owner, has baby lambs in the back that you can visit - SO cute! This is one of the best stops in southern Colorado that anybody can make! My only wish: that they have an online ordering system to ship bottles anywhere in the country.

Nice little winery tucked in the hills East of Ignacio. Views and tasting room remind me of the wineries in Temecula, Southern California. Strawberry and Pomegranate wines interesting. We went to listen to some live jazz and to watch the full moon come up while enjoying a couple glasses of local wine. Two major gripes: 1) people that bring their children to a winery and turn them loose need a kick to the crotch! Little bastards running around in front of the band really kills the vibe. I don't sit in the middle of the playground with my scotch, so make your rug-rats play quietly in a corner if you must bring them. 2) local yahoos that think that jazz is something to "boot-scoot" to should also be kicked in the crotch. Jazz isn't barn dancin' music, regardless of how much wine you consume. We got up and left when the band conceded and played Foggy Mt. Breakdown. It was like a scene in Hee-Haw. So, if you wish to check out the winery or sample their wines, come during the day. If you show up on a Friday night for the music, be prepared to have the evening's experience dumbed down by the local hillbillies and their youngun's!

Wonderful afternoon!

Wonderful place to spend the afternoon and enjoying some good wine and scenery. Leslie was fantastic... We let her choose our pairing and it was wonderful! Very knowledgable of all the wines! Definitely will be going back! Jim, Pat and Christine

Beautiful property with delicious wine. We were able to enjoy a live band while relaxing on the lawn.

We had one tasting along with a pizza and charcuterie board. My husband enjoyed the wines and the food was great. We enjoyed the company of the dogs on the property, they were very friendly and quiet. The service was fantastic and genuine. I highly recommend coming by!

This was a delight…read more We were permitted to bring our small pups in with us in carriers. The grounds are lovely. There are vines growing on a pergola, a wood fired oven out on the veranda area. We sat inside as the wind was quite strong that day. There were three in our party. Two of were looking to enjoy a tasting of red wines and one was interested in white wine. Brandon greeted us and spent some time getting to know our likes before we started trying wines. He also let us know about their pizzas, which sounded like it would be a good accompaniment to our activity. The specialty pizza for the day was marinara, cheese, pepperoni, salami and roasted green chile. We put in our order and continued our chat with Brandon. Between my husband and I, we tried their Malbec, Telluride Cab Sav, Merlot Signature, and the Dutton Family Reserve. My daughter, who prefers a white wine, tried their Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Amber Wine. The pizza went well with everything. We ended up getting bottles of three of our favorites. This was a lovely experience. I would like to plan ahead more next time and arrange for a tour.

We called ahead to find out if pups were welcome and were told they were…read more We were welcomed in. We were offered a sample of their slushy while we chose our flight selections. We each did a flight of five from what was available. I had the "My Morning Coffee, a "semi-sweet" from the selections of meads. It really did not have any sweetness at all and was quite dry. I tried the Choke Cherry Wine, Feel Better Berry, Baco Noir and Cabernet. Choke Cherry was tart without sweet. Feel Better Berry was cloying. Baco Noir was dry as was the Cabernet, which had a slightly astringent undertone. The ambiance is much more casual than a typical winery tasting room. Flights are served in plastic cups written on in sharpie. We were regaled with stories of the tasting room cat bringing its various conquests back into the building for the owner to find. I don't believe I would return for the products.

We each ordered a wine tasting, with five pours (1 oz each) from a wide selection of fruit wines and meads ($8 each), and then shared them in order to taste all ten! We enjoyed the wines, and especially the honey mead, and purchased an extra bottle (750 ml, $25) to take with us. Jim, the friendly proprietor, also gave us a taste of their wine slushees, and we ordered a plate of excellent, and fully loaded and reasonably priced, nachos. Yellow Car, and Cortez Colorado, is a convenient stop for tourists on route to Mesa Verde National Park, and even Arches which we had just visited. For any RVers out there, Yellow Car participates in the Harvest Hosts program, with reservation.
