This place is great! The staff is always friendly and attentive. I brought my young kids and they didn't mind. My kids were well behaved. The beer is light to dark and low ABV to high ABV. What a great brewery find! Came in just before close and loved it! This nano-brewery packs some amazing beers into a cozy space. Had a flt of six and everything was on -point & true to style w/just enough skew to get a sense of the brewing artistry behind each offering. There was also a surprisingly diverse selection for the production size! They even had a collab (the Lazaro IPA w/Mancos Brewing). Nicky, the beertender, was phenomenal! Even after my 6 beer flt, he offered me a couple of samples to highlight some other styles on tap. Really liked the vibe of this brewery. We started with a flight of several different beers. My wife then had two of the Irish Reds, while I had a dopplebock, followed by an Irish stout. Beertender was friendly enough. Would definitely go back. read more

Best beer in Durango. Others are worth a visit too (Animas, Carver) but Anarchy does the "standards ( IPA, Stout) quite well and the "novels" ( Watermelon Kolsch) is awesome on a hot day. Outside seating, location a bit off off Main, and high energy tunes...what's there not to like. read more

Anarchy Brewing is fairly new to Durango and definitely new to me. A quick look at their website told me I could show up after 2pm for some off-the tourist-track suds with a steady diet of punk rock in the background. I smiled. I parked on 8th and opened the door to a room that looked like it was for storage. Silence. Then, I heard voices, including that of Dez Cadena, singing the Black Flag classic "Police Story." Encouraged as much by the song as anything else, I followed the sounds to a large, open room with tables, a bar, and prayer flags dropping from the ceiling. Interesting. Barkeep was friendly and forgave my Grateful Dead hat. I saw that half-pours of most beers were $4 and ordered half of Better Off Red (Red IPA) and of Sure Shot, a stout that woke dormant memories of the Beasties singing that song at Lollapalooza. Both were good, not great. I give the edge to the Sure Shot, with its assertive, yet balanced palate. The Red IPA was tasty, but more like an amber ale than an IPA. I drank slowly, enjoying the music. At this point, I was adding Anarchy to my list of spots to hit for beer. Their suds match the long-established local breweries in terms of quality and taste. I carried my glasses up to the bar to close out. "$10" he says. I looked up at the menu, made eye contact, then back to the menu. Prices hadn't changed. $4. "Is there tax added?" Alas, his hand was waiting for payment, but his attention was now on his conversation with someone down the bar. l waited a bit. He didn't turn around. After getting no response to another question, I channeled Agnostic Front's "Gotta Go," left $10 and walked away. Too bad. He'd been helpful and nice earlier, so I planned on tipping more than the $2 he added to the total before going lc on me. Sorry, but bad service leaves a bad taste. Overall, I recommend Anarchy for a visit if you like punk music with your beer. I also recommend an itemized tab and attention to detail. read more

I've only been here once so far, but I'll be back. I love the dog friendly aspect of the place, customers and staff are friendly and the doppel is a great brew. I look forward to trying the others. The establishment's favored music genre and mine are a couple of generations apart, but that's ok, as long as it's not too loud for conversation. Anarchy is a great combination with the Tangled Horn next door. They should put a hole in the wall to pass through beer and food. read more

This microbrewery is advertised as a "neighborhood Nano brewery". Their motto is: "In a world of chaos, at least we have good beer!" Anarchy Brewing is located on 8th Avenue, on the Southeast corner of Durango. They are opened Wednesday till Sunday, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. My wife and I visited at approximately 2:30 PM, on Sunday, March 20, 2022. We met the owner, Sully, a lean man with a passion for beer and punk rock. He told us he'd been open about a year and unfortunately wasn't selling growlers at the time. This is establishment is dog friendly and we happily spotted some canines inside. The vibe inside this nano brewery is very relaxed and we started a conversation with another couple sitting at the bar. We ordered a flight of all six of their tapped beers. This included: F-bomb (belgium strong/10%), smeltzer (hard seltzer/5.5%), cherry springer (cherry stout/7%), devastator (ipa/6.66%), enemy at the gate (smoke porter/7.8%), and the trouble (american pale ale/5.2%). The smeltzer was almost flavorless, but highly carbonated seltzer water. I didn't care for it too much, but I really don't enjoy hard seltzer. The IPA wasn't very hoppy and the stout was a medicinal cherry flavor. Think cherry NyQuil. The smoke porter and American pale ale had great flavor and carbonation and I enjoyed the smokiness of the porter. However, by far my favorite had to be the Belgium strong. It had a smooth finish, nice malt, and I couldn't tell it had 10% ABV. The subtlety of this beer had me hooked! I ordered an 8 ounce (max) pour of the Belgium strong and my wife had a pint of the American Pale Ale. I was very impressed with the beer. My only wish was that they would have had a Pilsner, Lager, or Kolsch on tap, but maybe next time. For an 8 and 16 ounce pour we paid a total of $12. I have no idea how much we paid for our flight of six beers, but I'm sure it was reasonable. Check out this nano brewery to support a great local Durango business! read more

Fun place to stop by and grab a local brew while you step back into the 80's punk rock scene. This was a very welcoming environment with a laid back crowd and welcoming staff. The bartender encouraged me to sample any or all of their taps until I found one of my liking. They had two lagers that were both a little too strong. I settled on the apricot saison. They have an option to get a 6oz pour, which I liked since I knew we would go eat somewhere else, so I didn't fill up on beer here. The music inside was a little too loud for conversation, but they had picnic tables out front with some cover so that was a nice place to sit and sip a beer. Will definitely return next time we are in town. read more

We go to a lot of breweries and this was a stand out. Cool vibe that reminds us of the punk/heavy metal record stores we used to visit and you feel welcome to just chill. We got food out back at the Chalkboard kitchen that was outstanding. We will be back. read more

I love this place for it's "locals" attitude., you won't find throngs if tourists here and the owner wants to keep it that way. I'm not a beer connoisseur tending to always go to whatever IPA is on tap, but I did like what I had yesterday. The food truck, Chalkboard has never disappointed except for when it's not open, which seems to happen randomly. I know the music is part of the vibe but it really could be turned down a little bit. It makes for having to yell when you want to talk to people, and for ringing ears for the rest of the evening. And it's dog-friendly, which may or may not be an issue for you as some dog owners are more considerate than others. On the whole, a very good addition to the local scene. read more
