One of the best experiences I've had in a long time . Friendly and knowledge staff. It seemed like there were lots of "regulars" here but the staff treated us just as well as they seemed to be with the familiar faces. I'm guessing that's why people keep coming back! I really felt valued by the bartender Chris . He asked me what I like and offered some great suggestions and samples based on what I said. That kind of service and attention is rare , especially when it was as busy as it was when I was there. The dickens delight was amazing and I loved the homemade potato salad ! The Fox Pub & Cafe has a surprisingly extensive menu ranging from traditional Irish fare, to sandwiches & burgers. I am a huge fan of corned beef & when I saw on their menu that they make their own in house, I knew I had to try it. I ordered the Fox Reuben & was really impressed by the flavor & tenderness of the meat. They didn't slice it so much as pull it apart like slow-cooked pork. Found a new local favorite! So.Many.Beers. EIGHT draft choices, four of which change weekly! They offer samplers of 4 choices for I think $8 but the bartender was also giving out samples of them at the bar no charge, just to try a sip before you commit. And then an entire page of bottled beers- they even had lambic! There are comfy upholstered chairs to lounge in as you savor your beer choices AND they serve food. The tomato soup is amazing, flavored liberally with gouda cheese. The brisket wasn't as delicious as I'd hoped, it was tender but needed a lot of horseradish sauce to add flavor. Probably need to go more traditional with shepherds pie next time! Great service, food came out promptly, very nice and clean interior, what else do I need with my beer?! read more

Wow!! I was so impressed with the food! Very British feel. I had nachos for the appetizer(which were AMAZING) and then this very tasty veggie wrap as my meal and I was sooo impressed. I left very full. I had a Long Island to drink and it tasted like a basic Long Island. Not the best one I've ever had but not bad by any means! Will definitely be going back there!!!! I recently discovered this gem on a trip back home to Peoria. What I like most about this place is that it has a real pub vibe. A lot of places call themselves a pub, but few actually have the ambiance. Also, the original beefeater sandwich I had was terrific; slow-cooked beef brisket with a tangy, flavorful BBQ sauce on the side (you must taste the sauce). It has a variety of quality beers on tap, and the interior design and artwork on the walls really makes it feel like you're in England. Service was good, and they also have a trivia night here, which is a bonus. Really nice to have a place like this closer to the north side of Peoria as well. read more

This would have been a 3 star review if it wasn't for the great craft beer selection. I went with the Beefeater sandwich. A piled high pot roast style pulled beef topped with bbq sauce along with home style cut fries. Overall not a bad meal. We added chips and salsa to start off with that was more than likely jarred salsa. I topped off my meal with a great sour ale from Desthil. Service was prompt tonight. Restaurant was clean and your traditional pub type atmosphere. I'll be going again for sure. read more

I found the sample beers very expensive. Dropping 2 - 5$ for a sample when I could go inside or to a nearby bar and have a full drink of almost the same thing for about the same money caused me pause. Also the service and knowledge of the wait staff really caused me to reconsider whether I would have a return visit. The waitress should not ask me if I want my cognac in a shot glass because she has not sold one before. I would think the bartender should know that. Also if they tell you they lost your food order, and would have to put it in again, I feel they should at least take another drink order or return before you belated food shows up to get a drink order. Great idea - in my mind poorly executed. read more

I had one of the brisket sandwiches with their horseradish sauce. it was delicious. fries were good and taste fresh. a little pricey, for the amount of beef on the sandwich. sauce could have used more kick. it was busy when I went on a thursday. unbeknownst to me it was trivia night, which may have been the reason for the crowd. the trivia was fun. read more

Been here probably 5 times and it hasn't disappointed yet. Fish and chips are always good, the reuben is not bad, but the real star is the sticky toffee pudding. I would go there just to get that and skip the rest of the meal. Always a great beer selection as it is easy to tell they really spend time on bringing in new beers for the seasons - but this can make it quite pricey depending on your selection. Our first time going, we were lucky enough to come on a night where the Roundstone Buskers were playing, which is an Irish band. Really like the atmosphere - hope to come for one of their English Premier League Saturdays at some point. read more

First and last time! Had a $9.50 Chicken wrap (six inches long -really!) they wanted to up charge me 75 cents each for requesting pepper jack cheese and romaine lettuce (did I mention the wrap was almost $10 ? Then $4 for a can (they have no bottles) of Bud Light. My mate had the Ruben (another $10) -it was 2 on a scale of 5. Don't waste your money --pick a better place. read more

We went here for the first time because we've heard great things. We sat and waited 20 minutes and had to ask for a waiter and still never came until we were on our way out and saw multiple people get helped that came in after us because they had a bigger ticket with more people. I will not be back if I couldn't even get asked what drink I even wanted within 20 minutes. We left and will take our business else where to a place that will actually appreciate the business. read more

Perfect hang out! I feel very safe having dates here, plus I live a 3 minute walk away so I'm safe to walk home after a few pints.

This place is amazing! Not only is the food EXCELLENT, but so is the atmosphere and service. This is a place where the owners really care about their customers and making them feel comfortable. The Sargent's pepper soup is just exquisite. The tangy sweet flavor with the right amount richness steals the show. The cottage pie is also excellent. Duke of Wellington is a masterpiece, however I wish there was something of a different flavour to add to the perfectly cooked brisket. The fries were over done and put off the taste in our mouth for a bit. But the soup was the clear winner read more
