Steven always lets us know when he is planning to come out for our quarterly treatments to the outside of the house, and asks if we have any particular concerns to address. He uses chemicals that deter pests but are the least toxic to the environment. We have been using his company for years and I am thoroughly happy with the results. We have been using Fox Valley Environmental Pest Control out of Elburn, Illinois, for several years, as we have a very annoying problem with 'slab ants.' We have a 3 times per year contract. Steve Forsythe has been coming out to spray our home since the beginning. My grandchildren think he's awesome because he'll always take a moment to say hello to them. He takes a moment to remind us that what he uses is not harmful to our dog. He came back as often as necessary to get those pesky slab ants under control! This company is a scam. like other 1 star reviews we had similar situations. During the pandemic they were around the neighborhood and offered to do an exterior house clean. They came back a couple times, without notice or no one home. Did not help with any pest issues at all. Called to Cancel March-2022. Got a bill for discount amount re-apply of $300. Called them in April to dispute and say their pest warranty was not meeting their contract. Said if there was issues the owner would call to resolve. Thought the matter was resolved until we get a credit notice in November-2022 for the $300. No decency to call before putting this to creditor after 6+ months of no interaction. Did NOT pay the creditor, however, Fox Valley decided to just go ahead and charge my credit card on file in December. Canceled the charge with my credit card (more time on the phone) Then now in January the creditor is back calling as the credit was back due since I had canceled the credit card charge. Needless to say I just ended up settling for a lessor charge, but likely took up more time of my life then I would like. Next going to the BBB to file a complaint. No interaction from these folks, they sign you up and then dont live up to a contract or let you know when they are showing up. STAY AWAY from this company! read more

Read the other one star reviews and this was exactly my experience. I had ants, they said they could treat it for $475 or if I signed a contract it would be $375. Basically I signed up for them to just show up whenever they want to then bill me again for $375 (2x/year for TWO YEARS) despite the fact that I didn't have any further issues. Wish I'd have done business with someone else without being pressured to sign a contract for services not needed. I had Fox Valley Pest control come out to see how they could help on ants. The owner gave a big spiel about everything he could do and pricing. Of course he said he could lower the price if I signed a contract which I did, to much regret because he made it sound great on what all he would do. After watching him throw a few packets around my basement and garage and spraying a tree that was it for almost $400. Needles to say I had already signed the contract and was stuck. When I received another bill 4 months later for $330 to stop the contract I was SHOCKED. I didn't pay and then was turned over to Capital Accounts for collection. Don't, I repeat, DON'T use this company. It's a scam. read more

We've been using this service for a couple years now and it's money well spent! I'm allergic to wasps and we had a big issue with them building nests on our house. After using this service we have not had any issues. Steve is wonderful to work with and very professional. Steve gives me a friendly call every year to schedule the service which is so helpful with my busy schedule. During COVID-19, they offered a no contact (external) treatment for my annual preventive maintenance. The tech, Steven Forsythe, was very careful and considerate during my 2020 treatment. Very thorough, and was impressed the owner is an entomologist. I wanted an alternative to a toxic chemical bomb for a flea outbreak and the company offered the only option I found, including an insect growth regulator to ensure fleas didn't come back. They came out and did an extensive walk through, including outside looking for evidence of animal activity under decking, etc. great experience. read more

We had Jim come out today to help us with a fly problem. I chose this company because I loved the fact you can request no chemicals to be used in home. Anyways, Jim came out. Looked at what we were doing for our black fly issue. Ultimately gave us some extra tips and said there was nothing else he could do! He did not even charge us for the consultation, like we expected. I will DEF call them again next Summer for helping with our outdoor mosquito problem. You have a lifetime customer now Jim. Don't ever used this company! The owner Jim is rude and condescending! We had them out for one treatment. They 6 months later we receive a bill for an alleged second treatment. Most unprofessional service I have ever received and I've used pest control for 35 years in 6 states. This company was originally hired to help with a mouse issue discovered by the house inspectors during our purchase (2016). They treated the house for mice and coerced us into a pest treatment contract. Late 2017 I called because we heard mice in the attic - Jim came into my home, opened the ceiling entrance, climbed 3 steps on my ladder and said "I don't go up into attics". He then proceeded TO THROW PACKETS HAPHAZARDLY INTO MY ATTIC - telling me that should work. After he left I contacted Critter Control who did go in my attic - they noted that no entry points in the roof had ever been checked (which it says were taken care of on my original contract with Jim) AND informed me how worthless it was to throw packets helter skelter into my attic. In the spring of 2018 when I contacted the office about treatment the phone was answered by a woman who sounded distracted with a baby crying in the background. All I wanted to know was if I had paid for a spring treatment, because if I had they needed to come spray for ants and if I hadn't we would cancel the contract. She told me I had a treatment coming and they came to treat for ants. Knowing I was home after speaking to me Jim still put a bill in my door - I was furious when I called the office and was sent an e-mail from them saying I did not owe them money and the contract was cancelled - then I still received a bill in the mail 3 weeks later. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I would like to add that on his spring of 2017 visit I pointed out a wasp nest under a vent - Jim proceeded to spray the daylights out of it but did not knock it down (it was maybe 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches) - by fall I had another larger nest by it - not much Jim does makes one confident in his work ethic or his pest treatments. read more

We've twice used Fox Valley, once for a challenge with wasps and a 2nd time when we observed a mouse run under our refrigerator.
