Very delicious food and great service. I went with some family today and was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up. The place is a little ways away from other stuff in Naples, but definitely worth the trip. We didn't know what to expect walking in, but there were plenty of places to sit and eat inside, as well as a bar area. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a friendly waitress. She brought out chips (which tasted homemade), a chunky salsa, and a salsa roja and verde which came in a bottle. The salsas were hot. I ordered the crispy quesadillas with chicken, and other party members got the steak asada tacos and a chimichanga. The rice was yummy, and had vegetables. The beans were also very good. I wanted to like this restaurant. However, my recent experience was horrible. We placed a pick up order and was told it would take 30 minutes. Arrived timely and had to wait an additional 30 minutes. They charged my card and then proceeded to give me food I did not order (Garlic Shrimp instead of Shrimp Fajita). They said they would not charge me. The did! Dicey exterior, great food, great employees. Was going to a nearby taco place recommend by a friend, but no parking there, and Naples being like Japan, there's no street parking available. So, having passed Los Molcajetes on the way, I went there instead. And it turned out great. A bit run down, but the tacos were fantastic. I had pollo, al pastor, chorizo, and carnitas. Parking was terrible and the food was even worse. Steak fajitas, and the chicken fajitas were both bland and had no seasoning and on top of all that, it was like stirfry. Meat was un marinated also and tough. The portions were too large and prices too high for food that lacked any taste. We took it back to the hotel but threw it away. A total loss and waste of money. The only thing that was good were the beans and the homemade tortillas, which there were ONLY three. Fajitas are not stir fried at least not where I am from. 4th of July weekend and we were craving Mexican food after a hot day at the beach. This location is really nice. It's more full restaurant format. The interior is so nice with music and TVs showing the soccer matches. We started with the chips and salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was super good but the waitress offered it to us without saying there's a charge of 10 dollars. So be aware of that. But we wanted it regardless and it was delicious. Our waitress had a night and day difference attitude to her non-Spanish speaking tables and Spanish speaking tables, so there's that. This was our last time going there. The live music is nice but it's incredibly loud. There's a public parking place right next to the restaurant. Bring germ x. The food portions are good. You pay at the register when you're done. It's one of those places you regret leaving a tip because the service is so questionable. We had a great late night dining experience here. We were visiting from out of town and options for going out to dinner after 9 pm were few and far between. We took a chance on this place because the Yelp reviews were pretty decent. We arrived to find a true Mexican restaurant. You know it's authentic when everyone there is Mexican. This place stays open til 2 am but don't feel like you can't bring your kids. The place was packed with families when we arrived around 11. We started off by ordering the fresh juice. Unfortunately because it was late they were out of the flavors we really wanted so we went with the melon. It tasted just like someone had juiced a cantaloupe, pulp and all. Not really my thing but it wasn't bad. I bet the strawberry version is where it's at which is why it was sold out. For dinner we ordered a variety of tacos, the octopus tostadas and the Tampiquena. I always want steak at a Mexican place and this did not disappoint. The meat was cooked perfectly and the green sauce added a nice bit of zing and acidity. I didn't taste the tacos but my husband and son raved about them. My daughter LOVED the octopus. I thought it was a touch too salty but she snarfed down two which was a great size for dinner. BEER AND WINE ONLY. Don't be fooled by "Margaritas" you think you see, as they're made with wine based "tequila" EXTREMELY dirty inside. Ice machine was open the entire time I was there and I could see the mold from where I stood. Counter, tables, and floor dirty as well. I did not see anybody wipe ANYTHING while I was there. Chips were overdone and thick. My beer and flour tortillas were the highpoint of my visit Lastly, I listened as they talked down to and about Whites while I was there. The serving size is the best! We had to ask for a take-away box as we were stuffed. Terrific chips with the guacamole Not like what is carried in supermarkets. Entrees can't be beat. The take out food held up well. It's about a 30 minute drive from where we live but we will mark this as our #1 authentic Mexican restaurant . We live in the neighborhood and have enjoyed going there many times. From the experience I had on my last visit my family will never go back. I walked in wearing a mask as I have valid covid risk factors. Victor told me he would be with me shortly. It took five minutes to get me a menu. Victor said just a minute and turned his attention to other tasks. A few minutes later one of the waitresses took my order for a takeout chicken Milanaise sandwich. After I'd been standing there for fifteen minutes Victor returned and asked if I had ordered told him yes. I was there for over half an hour with Victor saying he would take care of it "In a second" every five minutes but he did sidework, rang up customers, and did nothing for me. Never went to the kitchen to check on my order. He was deliberate in his cool nonchalant behavior. When I told him I was leaving, he clearly didn't care. What a hidden treasure, we were looking for some good Mexican food and we found it. Best thing is they are family owned and operated and open until 2:00am. They start your dinner off with freshly made chips with salsa and guacamole. They also serve it with 2 squirt bottles of sauce one is a red chili on the hot side and the other is a green cilantro lime tasting full of flavor sauce. We ordered margaritas and they were so refreshing we had two! I had to order the pozole because I love it and it was so goooood and full of shredded pork, it was delicious. It was served hot and with the traditional chopped onions and cilantro, delicious. They flavor was so good that I drizzled it on my pork tacos, wow delicious is an understatement. The pozole was served with a side of four taquitos dressed with creama and they were hot crispy and delicious. This was a sweet local Mexican restaurant that didn't look like much from the outside but from within it looked homey with a bar area immediately to your left and plenty of seating all around. Very organized. Free parking out front. We seated ourselves to the front. We sat down and saw some very authentic Tacos including cows tongue, tripe or other meats you wouldn't normally see on a menu. We weren't quite that experimental. What also caught my eye was the chicken chocolate mole which tasted just like I had in Mexico City a few weeks earlier. The sauce was splendid and the chicken supple. Nicole had chicken burritos which were also very well put together. The portions were huge so we took a plate home and made a second meal out of it for a midnight snack. I also ordered margerita on the rocks. The glass that came out was iced thoroughly and looked huge. The limes were super fresh. The drink itself was so so but I didn't order top shelf, and being a margarita snob I also prefer a home made lime mix instead of the sugary after market kind. Alas you can't have it all. There were flat panel TVs featuring soccer and they had a poster of the upcoming boxing match, which to me means, the owners care about sport. Another plus in my mind! We were in Naples and wanted Mexican food, reading the reviews we decided to try it, but it didn't meet the expectations. To start for me the chips and salsa for a Mexican restaurant should be the staple of the place and this wasn't good at all, chopped onions and tomatoes and the chips are fried tortillas not corn. Then we ordered the fried cheese, that one saved the meal it was really good it was served with a side of guacamole very tasty we loved this. Then we ordered fajitas and green enchiladas, not bad but not good either... nothing to remember I will say average not real Mexican taste for sure. Service was ok and prices too, but I can get more flavor from Taco Bell except for the fried cheese. read more
