Food was ok. Not great. I tried to order online and you can only order through 3rd party web pages that charge an extra service fee. So I decided to just call in my order because I didn't want to pay a useless fee for a service that the pizza place themselves should be paying for. After I picked up the order I saw a "technology fee" on the receipt. This was a simple freakin transaction and there was no call for hidden fees. Never ordering again because I want to pay the price on the menu plus tax. That's it. Passing on every little cost of doing business to the customer with hidden fees is just dishonest business. read more

During a quick getaway to Strasburg, we were looking for a local place to grab some lunch for carry out, and settled on Fox's Pizza den. Both my husband and I ordered hoagies, and they were excellent! The bread totally made the difference, it was perfect. I tried to order a pizza from Fox's tonight and I was denied service because my buddy was in the background yelling to a friend. We called back a second time and he hung up on me!!! We're having a nice time and this person says he's the owner was saying that he was not gonna let me order a pizza He would not even take my order. This is a bad way to do business. AVOID Strasburg, Va - Poor quality - less and less cheese, burnt crust with giant bubbles and bare spots. We have been ordering from fox's in Strasburg for 3 years now... the quailty has been going down hill. We typically order 2 big daddy cheese only. Each time the pizzas come with less cheese and huge bubbles int the crust that are burnt and bare. One recent delivery looked like the pizzas fell off the seat in the delivery guys car... all crumpled into one side of the box. Wow!! Sooooo disappointed!! I have ate a Foxes for years. But this one, HUGE disappointment! My favorite item is the steak and cheese sub. Reason being, the sweet peppers. It makes the entire sub. I asked for extra sweet peppers and they don't even have them. This is the description on the web site, like all other foxes. I get the option of regular green peppers or banana peppers. Booooo!!!! We had seemingly just missed the pizza lunch buffet, which runs from 11-2, however it seems we could have gone that route but our server didn't let us know it would continue to be available. The salad bar looked rather boring as far as salad bars go. We ordered our pizza, a medium 2 topping and waited a reasonable amount of time for the place being fairly empty. The pizza, despite a few other "good" reviews was nothing amazingly special. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese covered the crust nicely. The crust however was terrible. How can you have a great pizza if the foundation is awful? A soggy doughy mess. It's possible that had the pizza baked a bit longer it might have been much better. I was surprised and delighted with the late lunch my husband and I enjoyed at Fox's. I had a "veggie wedgie". My husband had a steak and cheese sandwich and a salad. Both of us were delighted with our meals. The veggie wedgie was totally delicious -- cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, melted provolone and mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Italian dressing -- all on a freshly baked folded pizza crust. Wow! My husband's sandwich also looked yummy, I was also impressed with the salad that he got -- a very generous salad from the salad bar for only $2.50. I've eaten at the Strasburg Foxes 3-4 times now and usually get very good food and fair service. I got slow service one Saturday evening when I took my daughter there and the food only so-so, but usually they are pretty good, especially for lunch. About five years ago I really enjoyed the Chicken Wedgie at Fox's. I've ordered this wedgie four more times; however each time they've put less and less chicken on the wedgie until you can count on one hand the number of small pieces found there. So, this last time I asked "how much chicken is on the chicken wedgie," to which the reply was "its chopped chicken breast", not exactly a detailed response to my question ... but I forged ahead in hopes that the description on the menu "chicken breast" - which denotes the obvious and my question would serve to cause them to actually pay attention to just how much chicken they put on the wedgie. I'm not hard to please, I would have been happy with even a half of a chicken breast but nope, still no chicken on the chicken wedgie. I counted about six pieces of small bites in the entire wedgie. Now, given that the cost is almost $8, you'd think it wouldn't be too hard for them to actually put the MAIN ingredient into the sandwich. You can buy a whole chicken for $4 on sale, how or what is the excuse for their lack of chicken on a freaking CHICKEN sandwich? Suffice to say, that's the end of any attempt I'll ever make to order from Fox's .. ever again, so Fox's if you're reading this, you've lost my business .. and from what I've read, I'm not the only one ... read more

This is a tough review to write. My family has thought Fox's has the BEST pizza sauce, and the best sandwiches. Their fried chicken is also my favorite. But, the other night we ordered sandwiches and my mom found a burnt bag tie in hers! We didn't know it till the next day when she had it for leftovers. If you dine in its OK. Just don't order from them they forget some of your order and than they take over 1 1/2 hours to deliver just up the street.
