Food - my sandwich consisted of ham and cheese on a hamburger and then you go to the fixin's bar to dress it up. I went around noon and everything was clean, no stray veggies or sauce drippings. The apple crisp dessert looked yummy! Service - everyone was very friendly and I was greeted as I entered. The menu was easy to read and the food was prompt in coming out. Ambiance - as a whole, it was very clean. No dirty seat backs; everything was nicely maintained. The only thing I did notice was the "Fixin's Bar" sign wasn't lit. I highly recommend. I've never been to a Roy Rogers for breakfast (I didn't even know they had breakfast) but we wanted to stay close to home while grabbing a quick bite to eat. I'll be honest - it was pretty good! My husband got the biscuits & gravy and a sausage biscuit sandwich. I got the ham, egg & cheese sourdough sandwich. The best part is that the fixins bar is available in the morning so I was able to jazz up my sandwich. All of the workers were super nice, too! The place was clean and we noticed people cleaning throughout our stay. They obviously take pride in the appearance. Rare to find these days! read more

I actually thought Roy Roger's went out of business because all the ones in CT closed many years ago. Between the 3 of us we had tenders, bone in chicken, burger and fries. All were good! The young man that served us was named Travis Scott and he was so friendly and welcoming. They are lucky to have him! Place was clean. read more

I go to Roy's more than the other FF places in Charles Town mainly because the service is best. I particularly like their breakfast and would like it even more if they served tater tots instead of their current breakfast potatoes. They use to serve a breakfast burrito but it was seasonal. This Roy Rogers location in Ranson was amazing yesterday when I stopped in for dinner. Roy Rogers is my FAVORITE Fast Food place, only problem the closest is over 20 minutes each way, which is probably saving me money, if it were in Spring Mills I would be there all the time :) I ordered Cheeseburger, Fries and my favorite dessert Strawberry Shortcake, I always ask them to hold off on preparing dessert until I was done eating meal. While eating I saw an AMAZING group of employees working together, making sure fresh food was coming out, getting refills placed into proper containers, young man weighing the roast beef to make sure they were given the right amount, but most important, they were all very happy, working in unison with one another, when the young lady made my dessert she was running out of strawberries, she asked for more and within a minute another worker got them for her and brought them out immediately. OH! My Strawberry Shortcake was AWESOME. I stop every time I am in Frederick, Hagerstown, or Ranson, to get my Favorite Food, I know they are owned by same family. I passed the one in Leesburg, VA on my way back home from a Soccer Tournament. It was worth the wait. I love the Double R Bar Burger. It's been a favorite of mine since I was a little kid! Stopped in for a late lunch, and ordered a Double R Bar Burger and a bottle of water. I'd give zero stars if I could fried chicken was so dried out it was greasy dust and the fries are cold and the root beer was flat.

Two weeks ago we went here for dinner and there were only 2 people working. The manager was making all the food and the associate was taking all the orders; front line and drive thru. More associates started coming in yet none of them seemed to know what they were doing. Orders were messed up, food was cold; it was a total train wreck. I was very disappointed since this was one of the few places left in Charles Town/Ranson that was decent. We went back a couple days ago, much to my disagreement, but was blown away the second we walked in the door! The young lady at the register greeted us before we even got to the counter. She took our order quickly and repeated it to make sure it was correct. She handed us our receipt and cups and by the time we got our drinks and went to a seat, they called our name for our order. They asked if we needed anything else and said to enjoy our food and dining time. The food was fresh and delicious! The associate that was working the lobby asked us how everything was and if we needed anything to let them know. The manager was even walking around and chatting with the customers to see how things were as well as helping out with the orders. They had a full staff that was amazing to us and the other customers. The entire place, inside and outside, was so clean; even the restrooms were clean and smelled fresh. As we went to leave, the girl at the register asked if everything was ok and if we wanted dessert or something else before we left. When we said no, but thanks, she said no problem and thanked us for choosing their restaurant and to have a wonderful day. I'm not sure what happened in between those 2 weeks but this place has totally changed and earned my respect again! The entire team at that store is awesome and the food is outstanding! Purchased a chicken dinner 2 piece combo meal on sept 05 2021 5:14 pm . The chicken was completely dry Inside and outside the breading was so hard literally almost cracked my tooth. The reason I'm frustrated is that I spent money and was not able to eat the dinner. Please throw away the chicken of it sits long and don't serve to your customers. People work hard for their money and deserve eatable food. This was not simply dry chicken it was old old old sitting long . So, usually this place never disappoints. Food is always right and tastes delicious. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience Pat night. First, the cashier was baffled by me saying that I had a mobile order. She asked me to pull around and didn't come to the window for almost five minutes, but that wouldn't have been a huge deal if my vision wasn't fixated on another employee making himself a milkshake, walking away without cleaning the mixer (I previously owned an ice cream store and I KNOW how gross those get if you don't clean them immediately I.e. stuck on ice cream to the lid and guard), and proceeded to eat it all through the kitchen. When the cashier came back to bag up our stuff, he stands right against her, staring at her, scooping the whipped cream from the inside of the cup and licking it off his finger. Not only was it gross to watch, it had to have made her feel incredibly uncomfortable because she had nowhere to go!! How awkward and gross for me to watch. Now I know not to get ice cream from here or drive away when Mr. #metoo works the drive thru. Oh, and we didn't get our holster fry, just the smaller size (not sure it's name). read more

I've been here several times and this Roys needs improvement. They didn't even mix my order of mash potatoes, and had poor customer service.

I was traveling through with my daughter and we decided to grab some food from this location. Well, this is the best RR in existence. My burger was fresh, the fixings cup had very crispy lettuce and onions and the fruit cup was delicious with no soggy fruit. My daughter's tenders meal was crispy and hot and we both agreed we were happy. The service was very friendly and fast! I'll be back when in the area. read more

I walk in with 4 hungry kids and an emtpy line. Nobody there really, maybe a table or three.. Place looks clean, looks well staffed. I start to order, the young lady I was dealing with at the register had a name I could not easily pronounce. I believe she may have come from Africa based on the inflections of her English. Anyways, all that matters is that she had a name I could not easily remember or pronounce. She was difficult to understand. Before you think I am some racist, please know I am not, I have international experience, I am college educated, and I have a multi-racial family. Anyways, she is trying to explain to me that if I am ordering more than 25 dollars, I can get 5 dollars off with some card. It took a few minutes for her to be able to articulate this in a way I could understand. I agree. I say sure, lets do it. She then lazily waves her hand to her left a few times. She is obviously giving me some form of guidance in a pretty lazy way, and I have no idea what she is referring to. Eventually, I figure out she is pointing to a poster on a wall, that describes some card program getting me 5 dollars off. I say to her "Yes, I get it, the card gets me 5 bucks off, sign me up for that"...she then shakes her head and is saying stuff I dont understand. I say to her "Look, I dont really understand you. How about I order my food, and you present me with the lowest possible price you can. The details of how we get there, I will leave for you to decide." Then another lady walks over, maybe a manager, she looks at me for a second, doesnt greet me, and then asks the cashier if she offered me the card. She tells her manager she did, but that I am not getting it, and shook her head like I am an idiot. The debate as to me being an idiot is almost certainly a valid one. I mean, I may be an educated professional, but that doesnt mean I am not an idiot. I just dislike getting that vibe from a hard-to-understand cashier in a fast food restaurant. So, I turned around, and urged my family to walk out. On my way out, in a loud yell, she yells out "GOD BLESS YOU" to me. Lets just say the tone and the words represented an incongruous match. Had she yelled "GO **** YOURSELF" the words would have matched her tone. We walked across the street and ate elsewhere. We will not be back. When we got home, I described the situation to my next door neighbor. He knows this restaurant. As I am describing it, he laughs, calls back to his wife, and tells her to come out and listen to my story, see if it sounds familiar. It sounded familiar to her, she had had a similar experience a month prior. I dont expect much from a fast food place. I really dont. Sanitary, inexpensive, a modicum of customer service, and a modicum of taste. You will not get that at this particular Roy Rogers. read more

I have just been to my local Roy Rogers in Ranson, WV. I went thru the drive thru and paid at 7:59pm, and was told it would be 15 minutes for the chicken, which I said would be fine. I waited 30 minutes, went inside to inquire on my order as I'd seen many people come and go and my food still wasn't ready. I ordered a 20 pc. chicken, 3 lg. mashed potatoes, 1 lg. baked beans, and 1 lg. baked apples. When I went in, they only gave excuses that they'd had several 12 pc. orders and my 20 pc. and they can only drop just so much food. Not only that, after waiting 30 minutes for the chicken, I'm told it will be 3 more minutes, they are waiting on baked beans. Again, the same story, "we ran out of beans and potatoes with all the chicken that went out". I waited the extra minutes for the beans, took the food home, and the beans were ice cold, not even a teensy bit warm. I tried to call 3 times to the store, and only got a busy signal. In all, I waited 35 minutes after being told 15 minutes to wait, and got ice cold beans, and just barely warm chicken. Only the potates were kind of hot, and the apples. Nobody would even touch the beans. After waiting 35 minutes for food, and being given only excuses, I would have at *least* expected HOT food. This is completely inexcusable for service. A $42 dinner that wasn't worth the 35 minute wait. And, as a side note.. every time I go there, I have to wait. They have NEVER had chicken ready when I got there, but tonight, was beyond rediculous. read more

No one mentioned that a 3-pc white meat chicken consisted of chicken wings. so I asked, "well we don't have any breast"!
