I had an appointment at Foxtail today and all I can say is I'm impressed. First of all, they took me today with very short notice which is greatly appreciated considering it's a Saturday. I did a partial highlight with Jude and she knows her shit. She did exactly what I was looking for and my hair looks great. I already booked her for my up keep appointment in a couple of weeks. Excellent cut and color. Jude was my Stylist and she is very experienced and knowledgeable. She cut about 5-6 inches off my long hair and gave me a really nice updated a-line bob. She also did a beautiful color with partial highlights. I would highly recommend and will not hesitate to return when in the Phoenix area. read more

Wow, stay away. Stylist called to cancel appointment at 11:30 am the day of my appointment (my appointment at 3:30 on a Friday). Reason, there was an event downtown and she the stylist did not want to have to pay $20 bucks for parking!!!! Really!!!! Not to mention that it initially took almost 2 days to make the appointment. Oh but she said maybe she could fit me in Saturday, ummmm the event was going on all week-end long what would be the difference she would still have to find a place for herself to park. Well all I gotta say is be cautious if you are a new client because apparently they do not really need your business. This was unprofessional behavior, shame on you. read more

I have had my hair done by Jude two times now and I will be back. The salon is located on the bottom floor of West 6. The salon is small but I like it that way. There is not much going on and Jude always focuses on you. My husband and I have been following Judith (Jude) for some time now, this location being the 3rd where we are her customers. And since this is in Tempe and we live in NW Peoria, it shows how much we admire her and love her work. My husband now sports a beard and she does a great job making sure it is groomed to perfection...he enjoys all the comments he receives on how nice it is kept. Jude also does his hair too. We have started to book back-to-back appts so that we maximize our travel time. Even with a trim of my short hair, Jude does a thorough chat with me about what I want. She is one of the few stylists I know that understands that a short female cut needs to look feminine and not something a guy would have. So even though I have fewer options with the style I choose, it is still stylish and flattering. When I had longer hair and messed around with perms and more demanding cuts, she always gave me the time needed for the job. First time client and I am definitely going back for future touch ups and haircuts. My hairstylist was Angela, who answered the phone right away, gave me detailed parking instructions, and managed to squeeze me in for a next day early appointment despite her busy schedule. She is kind and a great listener. I felt she truly cared about how I wanted my hair to look and was extremely professional. She is very knowledgeable and even offered me advice on how to use hot rollers after I explained my situation of having limited time to get ready in the morning. The parking situation is not difficult; just listen carefully to their advice and do some google-mapping of your own. If you know where the W6 towers is, then you will find Foxtail Salon. Angela explained the 1st hour parking is free, and only $1 for 30 min after. I was in at 9:30 and out by 11:20am, extremely happy with the time management. Angela didn't work on another client, she kept watch on time and made sure the chemicals were rinsed out in time. I have been to many hair salons that work on multiple clients at a time and I am left with peroxide burning my scalp because the hairstylist 'forgot' about me. Angela was attentive towards me and even made me a cup of coffee and re-filled my water bottle. I'm pretty picky about my hair and my stylist. I want a stylist who can both listen and make suggestions. If they can't do that in a way that gives me a consistent cut, I move on. Candace at Foxtail 'gets' my hair. She asks questions to be sure she's doing what I want and I don't have to offer much direction of my own. She makes sure I'm satisfied before I leave. I love both the color and the style, plus she and her sister, Jude, the two owner-operators, make each visit fun. They are both easy to relate to and joke around with, so I feel totally comfortable in their company. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Park in the building's garage and they will validate your ticket to cover the first hour of parking. read more

Before going to Foxtail, I frequented Great Clips and Supercuts because they were very inexpensive. However, after being unsatisfied too many times, I finally decided to try out Foxtail after hearing great things about it. Jude gave me a long, angled bob based on some pictures I showed her that I liked and it's perfect! Aside from a wonderful haircut, Jude fit me in for a same day appointment and seems to be a genuinely easy-going person. I went here for the first time like a month ago. Jude did a really great job my hair, it was cut and layered exactly how I wanted it to be. I'm really lazy about doing my hair and I'm happy that it looks good without me using a straightener on the ends. Also its a small salon so they take their time to make sure that you are happy with the results unlike some other places which say they don't have time to fix your hair if you are unsatisfied. I have followed Judith for 5+ years. She's one of those rare genuine people who truly love what they do and it shows through in her work. Foxtail keeps it fun yet professional and really care about their clients. Judith has always gone out of her way to work with my random availability and make sure I'm taken care of. It is always a very chill and relaxing atmosphere. She takes the time to explain what she's doing and why. I usually get a full or partial with a trim and have loved it every time. I even called for a last minute styling request on a Friday night before I went out to a concert in Tempe and Candace was able to fit me in. She did a great job and I got a lot of compliments on my hair that night. I cannot say enough good things about these ladies and their establishment. They are both coming up to Show Low to do hair for my entire wedding party in the fall. Judith even offered to help with my make up and bar tend the event. read more
