A great little find to refuel and recaffeinate while walking around the Gold Coast! This chain is new to me but I got the rec to stop in (my asks were somewhere with good coffee and outside seating) from a sales associate in a neighboring shop. The barista was so friendly and sweet and took the time to go through a few small bite food options that they had. I took my fruit cup and oat milk latte to the patio and soaked in the sun. My latte was refreshing but heavier on the milk than I am used to, but the fruit cup was so fresh and a perfect lite bite. There were about 10 or so tables on the patio and lots of folks out enjoying the weather with a book or laptop. Would definitely remember Foxtrot and this loc specifically the next time I am in town. read more

There's something great about coffee on draft! I wish more coffee shops in my area had this option. It was my first time trying Foxtrot, as I'm not a Chicagoan, and I was a fan. My friend treated me to the La Colombe x Foxtrot, aka oat milk latte. The nitro pour just makes it so creamy and delish. It's also kind of a filling drink, being made the oat milk, so I was overall satisfied! They've also got classic cold brew on tap and currently a cookie latte, which is prob too sweet for me to want a whole one, but I bet people enjoy that pick. There's also plenty of other cafe options like chais, matchas, lemonade-type drinks, and smoothies. Didn't get a chance to try and food but breakfast tacos and paninis!? I had their cookie top latte which is really amazing, I like how it was sweet but still tasted like coffee and my mom who hates machas even said that the macha cookie was really good. I'm so glad I finally stopped into the Foxtrot location near my condo! The exterior is charming, sitting mid-block on a tree lined Gold Coast side street. There is an area for al fresco dining when the Chicago weather permits. Inside, it was bustling. All of the diverse seating areas were filled. Singles, couples and groups chatting while enjoying a coffee or breakfast item. We sat at a long center bar area to nosh on our avocado toast. My friend loved her latte and my black iced tea was soo good. I was very impressed with the huge variety of retail and snacks. This is your one stop shop for a birthday, anniversary, housewarming or host gift. I saw a few things I might go back and pick up for myself. The staff were all very pleasant. What an amazing location! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating Many grocery, coffee, food to order made on site options-including breakfast and lunch/all day sandwiches as well as local Italian Pizza Maker Nonni! Also there were offerings of sushi, salads, sandwiches, charcuterie and cheese plates and much more! They have draft beer, wine and signature cocktails to enjoy inside or outside on their patio area. Staff was beyond attentive, professional, knowledgeable, helpful, kind and I admire that considering this seems like a "home away from home" where people go to work, socialize, or feel less isolated. It's actually nice to go somewhere other than Starbucks for coffee in this neighbor. I'm glad Foxtrot is at this location. While I haven't eaten here I've purchased small grocery items and like the convenience of going somewhere easy to meet a friend for coffee or drinks and sit outside. They have happy hour from 4 to 6 and you can get $3.00 draft beers which I think is a good deal. Foxtrot opened up three weeks ago at the date of this review. That said, they are definitely in the early days and finding their way. So be prepared to wait in line (which isn't clear where it is when you are ready to purchase items or place a food/drink order) and tolerate some confusion from staff. Is that an excuse given that they already have Foxtrots across Chicago and they should have this down by now? Not necessarily, but the staff seem friendly and accommodating on my few visits. Also be aware it can appear spacious inside but it can feel small very quickly when people come in so it's hard to practice social distancing. read more

Was really excited to go in to this new place in the Gold Coast to see what they had. Almost nothing for a vegan. And everything else they had was pricey. Wish they had allowed a dispensary to go in there instead. So, I walked across the street and went to my favorite little health food store and purchased a vegan sandwich ( there were three or four different options), and some seaweed. Sandwich pictured is from health food store. And a tip for those who work inside these places. When we ask for something VEGAN, we don't want to be led to the one salad that you have that is considered vegan. Casual yet inviting atmosphere-- this place is perfect for a work from home or study nights. I love that you can come anytime to get drinks as they offer a variety for different times. Coffee in the morning and wine at night! On to the drinks: Tis' the season for pumpkin everything and this place is where you want to be for that pumpkin pie latte. It's not too sweet and the pumpkin flavor really came through without being overbearing. I always hated pumpkin flavored - anything and it's safe to say my mind has been changed. It comes with whipped cream and little cookie crumbles that gives it an extra kick! I also got the Matcha latte with oat milk and honestly, it's probably one of the better quality matchas I've gotten in the city. For both, I spent only about $10. I would say the prices were extremely reasonable with it being only $5-6 a cup. I highly recommend it! read more

I most often go to Foxtrot for coffee and a quick breakfast, and I like the vibe and layout at this location, with comfortable seating and...well, good feng shui. The coffee is very good, and I like that I can grab a breakfast bar or yogurt and practice Spanish in a quiet spot, without music that's playing too loud. Great wine and beer selection, and a higher end pantry for impulse buying that interesting pasta you've wanted to try. This is the prettiest of the Foxtrot locations, on a quiet Gold Coast side street, with a small patio for the warmer months. read more

I love living near this Foxtrot. The people are very nice and the cafe is a bonus beyond the usual bodega. The only drawback is the consistency of the food. Especially given the prices, the food should be fresh. My most recent order was a citrus avocado toast with brown avocado and rancid pomegranate. The time before I received an avocado toast that looked beautiful, but it was absolutely drenched in salt. I expect the usual variation, but the kitchen could benefit from some quality control. I'm also still bummed that they discontinued the tahini yogurty bowl. However, I love their cold brew and it's a really great option to have nearby. read more

I was genuinely excited for the new Foxtrot since I've never shopped there before. My coworkers raved about how cool it is and honestly we needed something new in the neighborhood. The store is beautiful and offers great selections and it's a nice change from the surrounding businesses. My only gripe is with the food. I don't care for cheese on my food. I'm not lactose I just don't like the flavors or texture. I don't understand why most establishments that offer food feel like majority of the public likes cheese. Because the food is already prepared there's no option to have it removed. I definitely will buy wine and take advantage of the other items they sale.
