Where do I begin? Here for a conference. I had a lot of things to unload and went to the Fox Tower first as I didn't know where to go. I asked the bell hop where I should park for a conference when I have several things to unload. He said in a snarky tone, "well, we have 5 parking garages." I said I would just park in the ramp by that tower. I just so happened to get the right one. I asked to use a baggage cart to unload everything and another guy (Melvin I believe) said he wouldn't let me have one to use for myself. Most of the restaurants are closed. The Starbucks that was open in 800 yards away (yes, I stepped it off), or almost a half mile each way from the Fox Tower. The bakery near the registration has sandwiches-a half sandwich has quite a bit of meat but the bread was inedible...all for $9.00. they charged our conference $100,000 for audio visual equipment..pretty outrageous! A party with light hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic drinks for 45 people cost $3,000. Overall the staff were very rude and uncaring. They really need to work on customer service. Pretty tight machines too. Out of the 1,000 or so people at the conference, I heard of one $700 hit but that's it. No, I will never come back and would not recommend it to anyone, especially a conference. read more

First the room was dirty. Food in the fridge, dirty blankets and no add ons, shampoo ect. They changed the room and offered a sweet which was not available. Then I find out there is no open pool or hot tub. I have to pay 40 dollars to use the Pequot which we originally had but changed to stay for another day. This was my second time ever at Foxwoods and we had an amazing experience. We decided to spend the night at the hotel for my friend's birthday and then we hit all the dance floors and the restaurants. After that we went and hit up the penny slots and had a whole lot of fun doing the virtual reality games and just wandering around. The next morning we did breakfast and the outlets and it was just a pleasant experience all around. This is my go-to getaway destination. Restaurants are good. They could use some more entertainment areas. Also, slot machines seem to be all of the same type of game (A,K,Q,J, 10)Would be nice to mix it up a bit. Bingo has been revamped and it's pretty nice. Wish they still had bingo on Monday/Tuesday. stayed here nov 30 for an overnight stay. dont expect to win anything at the slots. happy hour is the only way to go if you want cheaper drinks tanger outlets are ok, not that many stores. the rooms are big but the beds are not comfortable, hard mattress and the pillows did not help as those are flat and not comfortable at all. there was coffee, free water and cold fridge. that was great. the staff is amazing though, very helpful. the pool looked really nice and warm, we didnt get to use it. read more

Like Mohegan Better What can I say I just don't like Foxwoods. The place is too big, and it's too far to find anything. Not to mention the place is pretty dated too. I tend to feel like the crowd is a little bit snobbier than Mohegan as well. Severely overpriced drinks, over crowded areas, poor payouts, and the music venue is a bit dated as well. Wow, it's so sad. I was sent an email with an offer for two free tickets to a show called legends in concert. They were people who imitated famous performers. The show was good. It was kind of awkward though because they were maybe 200 people in the audience. One of the performers actually mentioned that it was like singing in his own living room. The applause at the end just wasn't the sound that I would've liked to of heard as a performer. But we did our best. Donna and I parked in the parking garage and it was near to empty. We went into the great Cedar Hotel and the Carters were empty. It looks like a ghost town. And in spite of that I still did not win anything at the slots. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Great Cedars Hotel on 9-13-23 to 9-15-23, for 2 nights stay. We checked in and gave them the credit card for a total of $654.30. They said rooms are first come first serve. My wife's worked during the day, then we drove 3 hours to get there about 6:30 pm. I booked this room 3 weeks prior as a surprise for my wife's birthday the following day. I booked for a non smoking room. They said they had a family that booked 4 rooms but did not need them. So we were able to get a non smoking room but it had 2 queen size beds. She had to release the rooms so we could get one. She then said how much it was and so much for a surprise to my wife. I was not impressed with the hotel! It was very dated, chipped paint on the front door to the room, plumbers putty around the shower valve, chrome missing off on the sink drain, just to name a few things. This was an adjoining room to the one next to it with a closed door. The first night there was a lady almost yelling with other people that may have been visiting her in the next room who were very loud. So we went down to the front desk and the lady that checked us in asked if it was on the right or left side of our room. I said right side. She said okay if it happens 2 more time's security will ask them to leave. Once the visitors had left, there was no problems after that night. The next evening at 5:30 pm we were woken from a nap by screaming kids and family yelling at the children not to be screaming. The noise was unbelievable. We went out to the casino where my wife lost and Tanger outlets. Got back around 9:30pm to hear more kids yelling and carrying on. My thought is if I tell the front desk again they could possibly be on the verge of being kick out. Not sure if it was the same people or not sure. I did not say anything. My wife could not sleep she said they went on until 10:30 and finally quite down. The next morning kids were screaming and yelling. I was pretty close to opening the door and knocking on there door and asking if they can keep in down but did not. So my wife got on the phone with the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. Expressed our annoyance w/ the situation. She said we (FoxWood Casino, Great Cedar Hotel) can not control where the family with kids will be located. She offered us an extended check out and to remove the resorts fees for a total of $57. So my wife put me on the phone. I said we don't need extended check out because we don't want to be subject to this any more than we have been already. She said it's not like there was something wrong with the room/ facility. She said she could take an additional $50 off. I said could you do $200 for the aggravation and annoyance. She said no thats almost the price of one night stay. She gave another $50 off. She said next time you should book with the Foxwood Tower or Peqot Hotel. To prevent this from happening. There won't be another time! I tried to book with them at first when I made the reservations it was almost $1k for two nights. We left by 10:30. This place is basically closed. It's technically open but the restaurants and stores are all closed except for Dunkin Donuts. Mark my words, do not ever evr come here ever again. This place offers nothing to guests. Let me be clear, this is the worst experience of your life. Update: Foxwoods did respond, telling me stuff is open (see below) that may be true if you gamble mid afternoon, but like I said, Dunkin Donuts is the only food open at night so bring a pizza with you. read more

Wow this place has gone down hill fast. I haven't been here in about nine years but I used to come weekly and stay at the hotel. On a Saturday evening in December it was absolutely slammed. 45 minutes to find parking, every floor and every spot in Foxwoods tower was full. There were four craps tables open. They were dirty and sticky, with dozens of empty drinks on the rail. The padding was torn the felt was dirty. I went to one rather available craps table and a guy was screaming about them taking his $15 field bet. I had to ask for my money back while they argued. I asked two security guards if there were other craps tables open in another casino. Two guards confirmed that Foxwoods Tower would have one or two open. I walked the six minutes over there and both were closed. This is the first time I ever wanted to leave Foxwoods without playing anything. I used to love this place. Disappointing. read more

This is by far our favorite Casino! I have been coming here since the year it opened! Like the saying goes "The Wonder of It All"... There is so much to do here. Great slots, games, bingo, shopping, shows, dining, bowling.. I could go on and on.. I mean.. There are endless opportunities for entertainment here. The hotels are ALL nice, the casino floors are very modernized with all the hip and happening new slots. They have the new addition of the Tanger Outlets and it is loaded with fantastic stores!! You will find Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Coach, Clark's, Guess, Torrid, Vineyard VInes, Under Armour, Tommy HIlfiger, Columbia, Bath & Body Works and SO many more!! Been going here since 1992, but this time it had some challenges, my companion uses a walker. Finding valet parking close to our hotel was not happening. I noticed that there was a scooter rental inside the walkway. Best $40 ever spent. One less worry as they took her walker as well. The freedom of the d liter allowed her to get around and didn't slow us down at all. The walk to the hotel made for us to gauge dinner, then to our show. The scooter made a ton of difference and the elevators helped just as much. Getting to the show and meeting all the helpful staff that never showed any signs of stress. My wife and I come here regularly to see shows and for her to gamble. I used to sit in the race book and bet and have a cigar. She would know where to find me to get more money. I get the non-smoking thing. It is the 21st century and people are entitled to work in a non-smoke filled environment. So, give me a nice outdoor area with fire tables and heaters like I get in an average hotel. Don't make me sit in the parking garage or with the valets on an uncomfortable bench with a trash can ashtray. This isn't hard. Did a quick overnighter with my wife and son. Parking was a little confusing. Not the best directions or signage in the parking lots to help find your way around. Check-in went well with the front desk giving us an extra hour at check-out, which was helpful. The Casinos themselves seemed chunky and placed in odd sections throughout the buildings. Our room was just o.k. with a few small broken items throughout the room and a bathroom that felt on the dirty side, with mismatched finishes on the handle and large scratches and chips throughout the walls and cabinetry. Our only real bright spot was our breakfast at the Veranda cafe. Had a good time (definitely the company I brought), but not itching to get back any time soon! read more

A Patron for Years, But I'm Not Going Back Update: I noticed other bad reviews for Foxwoods on Dec 4, 2021 which confirms that my experience was not isolated or unusual. One reviewer mentioned the dirty & sticky gaming tables. Another mentioned the same front desk receptionist who felt compelled to argue with my guest. There's a review about non-working Internet, then being moved to a different room with a broken refrigerator and then giving up. I forgot to mention the dirty carpeting and the 2 broken lamps in the room, which were the ONLY lamps in the room. The refrigerator was not functioning. It was impossible to use the electric outlets in the bathroom - one was installed sideways on the bottom right side of an indented wall cubicle. There were 2 washcloths, 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels. The glass enclosed shower was poorly maintained - the faucet was crooked, the tiled floor was unsafe and slippery. There were no guardrails to keep you from slipping. I can confidently report encountering 4 polite and personable staff members. The rest were rude - I did not expect to be yelled at or ordered around from a business that defines itself as a "resort destination." Rebranding Foxwoods by changing the names of the Towers or the Theatre is not going to bring patrons back. Foxwoods must improve customer service, clean the facilities and upgrade broken furniture, tables, etc. If it is not done, reviewers will continue to state that the Mohegan Sun experience is light-years ahead of Foxwoods. ************** My original review ************** Overall, I spent approximately $2,800 on a hotel room, tickets, dining & shopping. I don't plan to visit Foxwoods again but I also know that Foxwoods won't miss my money. It's sad to say but the Premier Theater (formerly the Grand Theater) has become a poor and unfriendly experience for music fans. The acoustics were fantastic when the Theater opened in 2008, but it's apparent that the sound equipment has not been maintained. Fans in other sections were visibly enjoying themselves but in the section where I was seated, the security guard berated the patrons for 70 minutes of an 85 minute show. Venue oversight is minimal, with the result that a single guard is allowed to hide his lack of people skills by telling management that the fans are unruly. All of this was preceded by a bad experience while checking into the hotel. The Reception Staff member engaged in a 10 minute argument with my Guest. We tried to have a cocktail before the concert but watched as our Server was side-tracked by younger patrons and returned quickly with their drinks. We waited 20 minutes for 2 Gray Goose martinis - paid $30 for cocktails in a small plastic cup that were served at 7:45pm. There were no patrons in sight for a scheduled 8pm comedy show but we took too long for the Security Guard who ordered us to leave at 7:59pm. Multiple rude experiences may make the reader wonder whether our demeanor caused the rudeness. The answer is that we were polite, but felt that the staff was dismissive of us as older women. The Fox Tower is not clean or comfortable. The air circulation is poor, with visible dust particles in the air. In these times of Covid-19 awareness, Foxwood staff was wearing masks. However, I did not see anyone wiping bistro or club tables. There was no visible sanitation for the slot machines or gaming tables despite the Foxwoods website statement "Additionally, our Cleaning Ambassadors are rolling out an advanced cleaning schedule for all surfaces hourly, and overnight deep cleaning nightly." Confirmed non smoking room. Checked in. The desk associate confirmed it was a nonsmoking room. Went to a business event and got to my room about 9 pm. Ashtrays. Smoke permeating EVERY soft surface. Solid surfaces filmy. Pillows and bedding STUNK. Went to front desk to see about a room switch. Nothing available until morning. Ozone machine offered but that doesn't change the mattress, bedding, drapes, or rugs.... They switched me in the morning after a sleepless night, with basically a brush off that they don't guarantee rooms. I got $50 off my bill. That's not going to cover the dry cleaning from the clothes I packed that now reek. Will highly recommend my association NEVER book here again. New room was literally a breath of fresh air. Just when I didn't think Casinos could get any cheaper with customers than Mohegan Sun, this one broke the record worse. Foxwoods gives so little, that you have almost no chance of even winning like $3 on the slots and games even after several times of playing, without any exaggeration. Makes it not worth it to come here. My friends / family and I went to a total of 8 other casinos around the country and internationally that all gave more winning chances than this. Foxwoods almost never lets customers win even a little bit, compared to anything else we've seen -- a loosing recipe for the casino in the end since it discourages clients significantly and without any hope. Gave it a fair shot once, won't be going back. Also the smoke is prevalent in 95% of the casino. Yes it's a casino, but there should at least be some normal designated spaces for lungs to breathe and recuperate! I can't imagine the health of the poor employees with all the perennial second hand smoke!! It is noticeably smaller than Mohegan Sun in terms of size and restaurant selection. The logo for Foxwoods is a fox standing over a hole as if waiting for someone to fall in. I noticed it many years ago and thought it was mean, when my life became a nightmare I fell into that hole. Recently I cancelled a reservation for a free room. Right after I cancelled I noticed I have absolutely no free rooms anymore. From 5 sometimes 6 nights free a week to absolutely none and there is no good excuse for it. I had lost enough there to earn all those free rooms then suddenly they were taken away. That is how disrespectful it is. Well, with a logo like that I expected too much. The resort is not stunning, it is tacky and run down and it is very much in debt. Good luck with that stupid Wolf Lodge thing. Why go into more debt? Well, God is in control of this particular scenario. Don't ask me. I also know the rooms are not based on play because it went from five or six rooms available a week to none as soon as I cancelled one reservation. This is our first time back to Foxwoods in a number of years. We always used to love to come here but boy have things changed. First, don't come during the week because 3/4 of the restaurants are closed. You go into the food court area and half of the stores are empty. You will quickly notice that there's just not enough staff and try getting a drink while you're gambling in the slot machine area. No waitresses to speak of. And the drinks they served have a little or no alcohol in them anyway. We went to eat at the golden dragon, a restaurant we used to go to. A totally horrific experience. The food was tasteless and they tried to pass off rice noodles as lo mein. All in all, it just seems like this place is a ship without a rudder. Maybe that explains why they're a billion dollars in debt. As a result they just seem to be cutting everywhere they possibly can. We returned to our room after a day out and beds were not made and towels were not replaced. We called down to guest services and they told us that someone should have told us when we checked in that since covid they only refresh the rooms if you specifically ask for them to do so. Come on, covid has been over for a while now and this just seems like more evidence of the fact that they've cut their staff down to the Bare Bones. read more

Today I was dropped off at the Pequot entrance and some lady at checknin was very rude and said I can't get dropped off. The sign says dropping guests off. What the heck is going on which this place. Went here on a spontaneous road trip from Massachusetts with the family. It was the Sunday before Columbus day, and not very crowded at all. I have never been in a resort/casino before, but I have been on cruises (resort on water). As such, forgive any ignorance. This place felt like a large shopping mall, with the differences being the hotel, bowling alley (didn't see signage, though I know it is there), and casino(s). There are several eateries, some better than others, ...As for the buffet. The buffet (or festival buffet, apparently, because of the holiday) it was nothing special at all. The food was solid, but overpriced. Service (which took care of beverages) was a little slow (perhaps a little short-staffed)... they seemed to be quicker if you were ordering alcohol than if you were ordering something non-alcoholic (that is included with the bill). In terms of food, there was a decent variety, there was a seafood, grill, international, salad, Pan-Asian, and dessert section. The food was fresh (either because it just was, or because we were there just as the transition was being made from breakfast to lunch). However, there was absolutely nothing which made it spectacular or one-of-a-kind. There were a few simple, common items in each section. Heck, the salad bar was among the smallest I've ever seen! I do remember being good is bacon, (at least during breakfast, all you can eat, of course), and out of the desert the coffee cake. As a final note, while it was cool of them to have raw shrimp, it would have been nice if it had been peeled. Before going to the buffet, look at all other options, and see if there is any that seems more attractive, if something does, go there. In terms of drinks, I couldn't say because I didn't seek out any alcohol, but there did not seem to be an abundance of bars, ...As for the casinos Well, there were lots of different slot machines, some were you older more traditional machines, and some were the newer, cooler machines with the pretty shiny lights. There were a good number of all digital machines like video poker, etc. A couple were the really, REALLY large ones, nothing extraordinary, but the size just seems cool. When a machine malfunctioned, it was not too long of a wait to get someone to come over, but longer than expected. Aside from one, smoking is allowed... ventilation system is okay, but not great. While the smell of smoke is not overwhelming, there are a couple machines where if someone really nearby is smoking (or didn't fully extinguish a cigarette, it will be somewhat mildly unpleasant). Hey, props for having a smoke-free room! There were limited table games (possibly due to the fact that it wasn't a busy day) Minimum bets for blackjack were $10-15 depending on where you were. Would have been nice to have a table with a smaller minimum bet. There was a large, digital machine with blackjack, but it is run by algorithms and programming rather than by chance as real blackjack is. Another note I have is that the casinos, aside from the more upscale looking lounge for high rollers (100 minimum, or something) lacked personality. While there were minute differences, they seemed to lack differentiating factors, and all looked effectively the same. A final note... machines use tickets instead of a boatload of coins... and many do not accept $1 bills. If you have 1s, and find a machine that takes them, feed them in, and keep them out of your wallet until you cash out. ...As for the general facility + Wicked clean! + Spacious + Free parking - Hard to navigate or find a map, and signage could be better laid out - Have to search a bit for a restroom - Decorated like a run-of-the-mill suburban shopping mall (lacks personality) - Could be more lounges (not bars or smoking rooms, just lounges) Not everyday entertainment, but if it's a rainy day, and you feel like taking a short road trip, it is not a bad place to go, read more

This place is different. Never been to a casino and learned some very interesting things about Native American Reservations. Let's start with the negatives. SMOKE! So gross. People can smoke freely while gambling away there life's. Which personally I'm not a gambler soooo.... yeah. The food and places are pricey but what do you expect it's like Disney for drunk adults. So many people bring their children here which to me is crazy. The people is an interesting mix, not my personally favorite crowd. It's just definitely different. Some positives! Clubs and restaurants are LIT. Went to Sugar Factory and Shrine and had a blast at both. My friend also won 180 bucks which was great for her. My boyfriend is down $25 lol... which is enough for us. The hotel room in Fox Tower were also really nice. Dream bathroom! Overall cool experience to maybe do once a year not every weekend. read more

I was a little concerned reading the reviews before I went to Foxwoods for the first time. First COVID - everyone is following the rules. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. The place is very clean, contrary to a few reviews I've read. There is hand sanitizer and wipes everywhere. They take your temperature upon arrival as well. Another positive are the bell staff and luggage carriers. They are quick and efficient and very nice. As far as the casino goes, no one wins. It's a CASINO and you are GAMBLING. I played some slots and blackjack. You might want to know how to play "Stax-5 Card Poker" before you get here because those will be the only readily open seats at tables, or you have to sketchily hover around blackjack tables until there's a seat available. Two critiques. 1. Some slots have plexiglass barriers but many do not and are right next to each other. So I'm not sure what the deal is with that. 2. The signage when arriving is VERY confusing. Took an hour to find the entrance and to find a parking spot. And there is no one around to help. I suggest you STUDY google maps extensively before your trip. Or just take a bus. Lol. I drove to Foxwoods on July 16th from north of Boston, over TWO hours, to go to bingo. On their website, it states that it is normal hours, normal bingo hall, etc. I arrive and it seemed that their new bingo hall opened, so I wait in line like everyone else. No signs, no difference in a normal bingo day. Security guard barks at me and my partner and says "move this way! You're not listening to me. See? You're not listening to me." Completely disrespectful and rude to me and all the other patrons looking for the end of the line. So we wait in line for TWO hours. Come to front and are NOT greeted, but instead barked at: "rewards card, ID, and credit card." So I say I don't have a rewards card and she says, "this is a private event only you're not coming in." And I questioned why it was a private event to which she screamed in my face, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'VE BEEN WAITING IN LINE FOR?" Then she further laughs in my face when I said "bingo? Just like everyone else on any normal day?" to which she responds "NOOO REALLY? BINGO???" I walk away. I am so fed up with the complete disrespect by her and the security card, insult, and lack of professionalism. There was absolutely no indication ANYWHERE that night that there was a private event - no signs, no event signs, no indication what-so-ever. In fact, many other patrons were extremely upset that they waited in line for 2+ hours to find out they couldn't enter. The bingo website did not indicate the new bingo hall was even open or that things were working differently. Yes, now if you check the calendar on the website and scroll to July 16 and see the private event listed for the night session, but how many patrons drive hours to Foxwoods like myself just for their time to be wasted and for everyone to be completely nasty and disrespectful? I will NOT stand for this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. I manage 2 healthcare offices in Cambridge and I personally apologize to each unhappy patient. DO YOUR PART, fix your management, and care for your patrons. I'm not stepping foot in here any time soon and will be taking my business with my family to Mohegan Sun where the professionalism and customer service is profoundly good. read more

They gave our room which we were occupying to someone who tried to barge in on us at 2:30 am. No idea if they came into our room when we were out at night When I called the lobby they stated they had us checked into another room. Gave us $75 off. They're lucky this person didn't gain access to the room. Unbelievable. read more
