This is the NEW 305 wine garage. As much as we loved the old 305 the new 305 is so much fun. The new owners have elevated the place and created a new menu. Also you can get mixed drinks now! We shared a salad and it was on point. The only thing I'd like to see is cloth napkins or at least cloth for the wine chiller to sit on. As the ice melted water covers the table. We had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was very friendly and attentive; the food and drinks were excellent. The charcuterie was very tasty and the Mediterranean chicken Pinsa flatbread was delicious. The Pinsa was somehow light, crispy, and chewy all at once - we loved it. I recommend asking for the fig jam to go with the charcuterie if it is not brought to the table (ours wasn't so I asked and received a very addictive fig jam and stone ground mustard). The old fashioned was perfectly crafted with a large square, clear ice block, Marasca cherry, and fresh orange zest. Now that they have a full kitchen, they will be bringing entree options to the menu so we look forward to going back to try. The large garage doors were up and the outdoor seating was packed. I wish I lived closer to 305 Wine Garage. I could see myself being a regular. I would be like the two older ladies who came in while I was there for lunch: They strode in and each picked a white wine from the wall of wines to take home, then sat down and each ordered a chilled bottle of white to drink with their meal. I loved their vibe. Two bottles of wine with lunch! How luxurious. It's these little things that we do for ourselves, while the world crumbles around us, that matter the most. Anyway! A friend turned me on to this place. I love wine, and red wine specifically, so I made a point to visit. I'm so glad I did! 305 Wine Garage is a gem. Like I mentioned, they literally have a wall of wine in the restaurant. Each bottle is labeled with the price, and they have so many different varieties. I sat near the Italian wines because I love Italian wines the most. I treated myself to brunch, which they only offer on weekends. During the winter, they're only open 50% of the weekend (Saturdays), but talking to my server, it sounds like they will open on Sundays starting in late March and through the summer. I got the Smoked Salmon Everything, which is smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, capers, chopped hard-boiled egg, grape tomatoes and crostini. I didn't know what it would look like before I ordered it, but I knew I liked all of the components and only wanted a little something to nibble on. This sounded like it could look like anything: Will all of the ingredients be topped on the crostini? Will it be presented as a dip? But it came out like a piece of art. They really pay attention to details here. You can order wine by the glass, by the bottle or by the flight. I got a glass of Malbec, and it was delicious. One thing to note is: This joint is 21+ only! But the server said that he sometimes sees people come in with kids, and in those cases, he will seat them in a different room. Or, if the weather is nice, families are welcome to sit at the outdoor patio. This is definitely not a place that would appeal to kids, though. Now, on to the review! 305 Wine Garage (also known as AJ's Wine & Dine Garage) has to be one of the best kept secrets in Fortville. As this area continues to experience growth, 305 Wine Garage will remain a gem. The Garage offers an inviting atmosphere with a great selection of wines and a surprisingly delicious food menu. For me, a nice glass of dry red and the Caprese salad are always a great combination. The staff are knowledgeable and always helpful. And the last time I visited, she gave me a heavy pour to finish off the bottle. If you ever find yourself in downtown Fortville, look for the train mural and stop in at 305 Wine Garage. It is a great destination for a night out. Or, like me, use it as the perfect first stop to begin the evening. read more

I want to start by saying that I thought the name of this restaurant was AJ's Wine and Dine Garage, as that's what the signage says, and the menu as well. Very cute restaurant and wine bar! Nice ambience inside with a lot of wood, very simple and rustic. One wall is completely lined with wine bottles for sale. The server recommended a Zin when my friend and I wanted to sit down with a glass of wine. The wine was great and so was the recommendation. We decided to sit outside at one of the picnic tables. I think we would've had better service if we sat inside because no one came out to check on us, but if we went to order something, they would bring it out. I want to say this is because they were busy, but they weren't busy for the first hour we were there. We were enjoying ourselves a lot so we decided to move inside when it got cold and eat dinner. There are a lot of seating options, including a couch and coffee table and armchairs. We ordered the artichoke spinach dip, a small charcuterie, board, goat cheese, and marinara sauce, and a side of tater tots. The food was good, but a little bland. Everything was fresh and/or hot though! The tater tots were cooked perfectly, super crispy and hot. The goat cheese in marinara sauce was from a seasonal/special menu. I was disappointed in the small amount of cheese in the dish. It was mostly marinara sauce, with a sprinkling of feta, not chèvre, which I was not expecting. The charcuterie board was beautiful! It included two hard cheeses, three types of meat, marinated mushrooms, olives, grapes, and a small variety of crackers and crostini. Once my friend and I moved inside, the service was great. I loved this place and would definitely go back. There were lots of things on the menu that sounded wonderful so maybe we ordered the wrong things to be wowed by the food. They also offer a brunch, which sounds delicious, per the menu. I've heard that they also roll up the garage door during nice weather, so I will definitely be back when it gets warm again! read more

Well seasoned, fresh, flakey- I didn't think to ask for no bun, it didn't need it. And the fries on the side.... dang. Hot, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. I took myself out tonight, took my time & ordered multiple courses. I am not to proud to say I had Carmella's dip all to myself. Cravable. Service is pleasant and efficient. I have heard my parents talk about coming to the Wine Garage before and really wanted to join since I'm now 21! The cool thing about this place is that you can get a bottle of wine from their wall of wines! Additionally, they have live music on Fridays and I really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the Parmesan fries that had some sort of sweet sauce. The BLT sandwich was also really good! The bread was buttery, crunchy bacon, and it even had avocado. AJ's wine and garage, formerly 305 wine garage, is an excellent place to hang out and have a glass of wine or a bite to eat. Our Indy Wine Meetup group came here for an event, and we were very impressed with the selection of wine. They sell wine by the glass or you can pick a bottle of wine from the shelves and purchase the bottle to open and share with friends. The selection of wines is quite impressive and the price range is reasonable. AJ's wine and food garage also sells food. I ordered the buffalo chicken sliders with tater tots. The sliders were excellent! Very flavorful and spicy like I hoped they would be. The salad is also very good from what my friend told me. They have sharables like flatbreads which looked amazing. I ordered a glass of the Avia Pinot Noir which was wonderful and smooth. I purchased a bottle of Williameette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir to share with my group which was very light and fruitful. The service was wonderful and attentive to our group. Our server did an excellent job taking care of our group and we did not have to wait long for our drinks or food. Overall, AJ's wine and food garage is an excellent place for hanging out with a glass of wine and dinner. The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. The wine bar is under new management as of June 2023 new owners are Kevin & his wife Cora LaBarr. 305 Wine Garage is downtown of Fortville, Indiana that's not far from Lawrence or even Geist. I personally love the history of how small town Fortville used to be a passenger railroad town. Parking you can park on the streets, I didn't see a parking lot when I went, and lastly sidewalk is very low so it's accessible to others. Upon, walking in you'll see the wines, wine decor, even in the back seating area, and I personally felt the warmth from the staff as well as guest from the wine bar. 305 Wine Garage has changed their menu, bringing in different & delicious meals. 305 Wine Garage does offer brunch, lunch and dinner. Every, month on a Tuesday they offer wine pairings with a food theme. Like, when I went on Tuesday Nov. 14th theme was Soul Food that was paired well with a delicious wine from red, white, and sparking wine. I had went by myself, had a lot of delicious food, sampled few wines, ordered a chocolate & peanut butter wine slushy so delicious as well as a big nice size. Starting, new month Tuesday December 5th 305 Wine Garage will have wine pairings with German foods. Had a lovely ladies night here on Friday night. We had the back room and were able to enjoy wine, live music, and of course wonderful conversations. Buying a bottle of wine is cheaper than two glasses of wine so we had to try several different bottles - and the Wine Garage has quite the selection! Everyone in our group was able to find something - they even have wine slushees. As for the food, we got several appetizers but what was really stellar was the dessert tray. They gave us three desserts, but my favorite was the donut balls. 10/10 I would come again for my next ladies night! read more

I had heard so many things about the wine garage, i finally ventured over to Fortville to give it a try! I won't lie, i had trouble finding it but once I got there I was impressed with the space. There is quite a bit of seating and it's spaced well. We were greeted by a server pretty quickly.. who couldn't tell us anything about the wines. We asked about a cab and she just said "it's fruity" so we settled on some beer and ventured to the rosé. We tried the nachos because they sounded interesting. Potato chips covered in chocolate with hot honey and bleu cheese? What a ride. We got about 12 chips per the 3 of us (so about 4 chips each). It was an interesting combo but there was a lot of chocolate compared to hot honey or bleu cheese. For $17, i probably wouldn't recommend it. I'd recommend this place to have some wine with friends- definitely know what wines you like before trying :) read more

I love the wine selection at this place! If you're looking for something different, definitely check it out. They have great outdoor seating, and it's a fantastic spot to bring your dog. However, we tried some appetizers for the first time last night, and unfortunately, we won't be ordering food here anymore. The truffle fries were overpriced for the small portion and didn't taste good. We also ordered a pretzel, but it was cold to the touch, not warm at all. I recently went here and was not overly impressed. It is a really cute vibe though. The customer service is seriously lacking. Just a friendly face, smile and greeting goes a long way when you enter a place! Such weird vibes going in from the ladies working... almost to the point of being uncomfortable. In addition it took a very LONG time to get all of our food. The silver lining is that the waitress who was working was pure sunshine. Absolutely the sweetest. The location is prime, at the beginning of the strip. The big downside that's very unfortunate, is the customer service. This place is such a great addition to downtown Fortville! The have an entire wall of wines under $20 that you can choose from in addition to wine by the glass. If you don't end up drinking the full bottle they will even seal it up for you to take home. We came from dinner so just had the wine, but next time we will give the food a try. The decor is great and weather permitting they open up the garage doors for an indoor/outdoor experience. It was nice, but nothing to write home about unfortunately. The space was lovely and allowed a lot of extra light in, so that was great. It's the perfect spot to sit down with a glass of wine and just relax. The part that didn't really "wow" me is the fact that it's not incredibly original. They don't make their own wine so the wine that's offered is the wine you'll find at any local liquor or grocery store. Not a bad thing necessarily - just not something I would go out of my way for very often. But I have to say, the Main Street of Fortville is growing by the minute.
