I went to FrameExpress to get an original charcoal drawing framed and to get something rather silly framed for my kitchen. I have had other things professionally framed in the past and Mr. Min's establishment is not "pricey" for what you get. The UV protective glass doesn't cost more here, as it does at some other places. He does not try to upsell you to the most expensive framing materials. He was very professional and very easy to deal with. After I came to a decision on the charcoal drawing, I asked about the yelp discount, which he applied without blinking, or even seeing my phone for that matter. The price was very reasonable for what I expect to get. The kitchy kitchen art he said would do for a really low price, that made me want to do that now. He said it would take a week. I told him that I would be leaving town a week from today and he promised this would be done before I left. I was very pleased with the transaction. I will edit this review once I receive my framed items. But so far, I think FrameExpress is a great little store and Min is a good man. read more

In my view, there is only one place to frame items that really matter, and that is Framexpress in Long Beach. I have used them for pictures that meant the world to me and they have framed them as such. My last two frames were in honor of Long Beach brothers and I asked Min to do as he saw fit and the result pretty much took my breath away. Based on who these brothers were, they represent the best we have, and the framing made the representations museum pieces. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I couldn't resist taking my new canvas to be framed at Mr. Min's place. He was very friendly, helpful and honored my Yelp deal on the spot. Why four stars instead of five then? 1. Despite my 100$ credit, I still ended up paying over 200.00 to frame my print. Granted, it looks great, and he threw in an extra layer of matte for free, but considering what other people said, I was thinking I'd get a bit more of a deal. 2. He forgot to call me to pick up the print. I know he's busy, which is a great sign, but I'd left it with him for a week, so I was anxious to see the final product. This place is the bomb!! I needed a limited edition signed print framed so I shopped around first. I looked on yelp and narrowed it down to 3 places. When I got here, Min gave me a deal that was comparable to what I could get at the other shops. The bonus was that this shop was able to frame my print the same day. Plus I like the fact that the shop looks so nice and organized. They even have software to figure out your estimate. Pretty high-tech for a frame shop! Came here, used the Yelp discount/coupon, which still was a little pricey (I paid roughly $275 instead of $450 to have three prints mounted and framed), but he did an excellent job and they look great. I also explained my situation (I was under a bit of a deadline) and he said he'd handle it as quick as possible and it was barely over 24 hours later when he called me and said I could come pick them up. My boyfriend is a very difficult person to shop for. I finally decided to frame a panoramic that he has had for a while. Recently, the photo got a little banged up in a move. Nothing major, but folded a little, so there were visible creases. I took the photo on a Wednesday. Meanowuth helped me out. Budget was a huge consideration for me. This place is the best! I have been shopping around to find a good price on some custom framing and was beginning to lose hope because EVERYWHERE I looked was way out of my price range. When I first walked into Framexpress with this conundrum, Min (the owner I'm assuming) helped me figure out several different options but I was unable to get anything down to the price I was looking for. This is the point when most stores would have just said sorry and let me walk out the door but Min continued to brainstorm with me and work out a few discounts and eventually we agreed on a price. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but far lower than any other place (I'm looking at you Michaels) was willing to go to help me. I picked up the item today and it looks beautiful. As a very thoughtful surprise, Min even upgraded me to a much nicer frame than we had agreed upon (it was a frame I wanted in the first place but couldn't afford). He told me it was a surprise because he knew I wanted it and offered it as a sort of Christmas gift. This place understands the value of customer service and customer retention. Because Min provided me with such great service and was willing to bend on the price in order to accommodate my needs, he has made a customer for life (or as long as I live in Long Beach at least). Came to Framexpress based on Yelp reviews and their Yelp deal, and I couldn't be happier! I had two photographs framed for my partner's birthday, and finally got my three degrees framed. I went in there with three vouchers to get three pieces framed. Two were posters so they were just framed, one was an art piece so it was framed and double matted. I kind of knew what I wanted but Mr. Min took his time to suggest certain styles and colors. Based on other places I've had pieces framed in the past I found the prices right in line. My bill was about $500.00 which is after the $300.00 off from the vouchers. Yeah I know I paid $120.00 for the vouchers so basically I saved $180. And the frame for the art piece was not one of their in-stock frames covered by the voucher but he gave me discount anyway. I will go there again. read more

One of the best framers I've ever used. Prices for custom work are in line with Aaron Brothers et al but you get the advantage of true custom work done by a professional. Great variety of frames, mats, etc. They are very good about working with you and especially on repairs. I broke a frame and tore an old poster with great sentimental value. They did an almost-exact recreation of the frame and repaired the poster to nearly-original condition. I'm very pleased. read more

So far, so good. This review is for the initial consultation with Min only. I walked in, with no appointment, on a busy Saturday. Min greeted me while he was finishing up with another customer. He offered me water while I waited. Nice touch! It ended up being about 20 minutes before he got to me, but it was a pleasant wait. Min included me in the interaction with other customers, where appropriate. Then it was my turn. Min rolled out my canvas, made quick recommendations, quoted the work, honored my $50 Yelp deal, gave me an estimated date for pick up, and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Although Min was great at multi-tasking during this busy time, I would recommend going in during the week if you require time and suggestions/recommendations for your framing.
