My daughter found this place as she likes using a disposable camera for fun pictures with her friends... that's so 90's/early 2000's huh? ;-) Anywho, my parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month and my mom has all of her wedding photos on old negatives. This is a great place to get your film process and printed : they also do scans too. To develop the film ( 35mm) and get prints will run you about 26$ for everything which is kinda pricey but they are good quality and the return the negatives back so not bad. However if you try to get scans , you will definitely pay a lot more, over 30$ for just one roll If you use 110 film please be advised you will be paying $100+ per roll!!! Which is very expensive and you can go to other places that will do a great job and for less than $30. They are knowledgeable on what they do and you can trust that they know what they're doing. So if you're willing to pay the price , go for it . Just know that you do have more options Do your research and go what works for you. You can also check their website for pricing too in advance. Customer service is okay, the person I got was straight to the point just doing their job , can't blame them : but could be a little intimidating for a person who's new to film and getting it processed. All in all though they weren't flat out rude, just the attitude or service was a bit sharp and not welcoming unfortunately. All together though, 4/5 , it's great for the service And professional, no doubt about it , pricing though, might not be friendly to everyone's budget so just do your research before you walk in. I've been coming to this shop for two years since moving to Long Beach, and while I typically received semi-decent service, today was by far the worst. I requested film cuts and 6x prints but got an uncut sleeve with visible lines, and the scans were full of noise, making me question the quality of their equipment. The older lady handling my order was unhelpful, even making me cut the sleeves myself with a smart ass attitude. Overall, the lack of quality and consistency and respect of a customer here doesn't compare to any of the places I used to develop in Los Angeles. What a little gem this place is. This little business is great for quality prints. More expensive than the 24 hour prints you get other places, but the quality of the print is so good. Also, customer service has always been excellent. I wish their interface for holiday cards was easier to use on their website for the non-professional like me, but one can wish. The scans are ok, but expensive - I highly recommend checking out Rewind Film Lab instead. The cost for the same kind of scan is half the price (I typically pay $15 for a standard scan and that includes delivery via WeTransfer) I paid $30 for the same exact kind of scan from this place. I stopped here thinking I was going to the lab a friend recommended to me because I wanted a quick scan and she had mentioned they deliver same day, as it turned out, she was referring to Fromex San Gabriel which is a one-hour lab. (Oops!!) I wasn't going to leave a review since it was my fault for going to the wrong lab but I also wasn't impressed with their customer service, and that makes all the difference when someone feels like they overpaid for a product... read more

I went into Fromex to get family photos scanned and digitized. Not only were the physical prints in obviously worse condition than when I dropped them off, the scans themselves were terrible. I could have done a better job at home with my canon scanner. Like seriously, photos from the 50's were returned to me with staple marks and indents all over them after spending years in pristine condition. How heartbreaking! I asked them to print these photos to scale so that I could have physical copies to share with folks. Unfortunately, they just printed everything as though they were 4x6 prints. This means everything was out of proportion and none of the photos turned out as they should've looked. I specifically went to a photo specialty place in lieu of CVS or Walgreens because I assumed I could trust professionals to do their job well. Either these are not real photo people, or they had an intern look after what I made clear to their staff were beloved family heirlooms. Bottom line: Do not trust them with your photos! read more

Totally outstanding service and processing. I sent them two 35mm cassettes that were many years old. A very nice lady called me on the phone explaining what they found when the film was processed and asked if I would like prints. The prints came out great considering how many years had passed before they processed the one roll. I had no idea what was on the two rolls. I am totally impressed with this business and plan to have them do more printing and processing for me. O! and I had the prints and cassettes in the mail in two days!!!! Outstanding!!!!! read more

I used to love this lab until yesterday! The older lady that works here was so rude to me it was actually sad, I called to check on my two rolls of film that I had dropped off 4 days ago and already paid for it and she tried saying nothing was paid for when I clearly remember paying $56.72. At the end of the day I'm not gonna go into further details but I think if you work in a customer service office you shouldn't be rude to customers it's your dang job to deal with people and learn patients. I'm also a known professional skateboarder from Long Beach California also a business owner of a skateboard shop located downtown Long Beach 327 pine ave so I know how a manager should treat their customers and yesterday was not acceptable and I'm sad I would not be using this lab anymore. If you have a special photo project don't go anywhere else. This is my go to for professional work. I recently loss my husband. I wanted a slide show for his "Celebration of Life". Dropped off negatives for scanning on Tuesday. Their lobby isn't open but they have envelopes and a dropbox. Called them later to confirm that hey receive them, was told "they'll be done either tomorrow or the next day". They weren't ready "tomorrow", and think I had to call them "the next day" to follow up to check that they were ready...which they were. They did a good job overall. Couldn't tell if some of the visual artifacts I saw were from the negatives themselves or something from the scans. read more

I brought Fromex the last copy of a fire photo that was pretty rough. Colors were off and it was hazy. Fromex digitally enhanced the image and I paid for copies. I went to restore a 8x12 picture . They said they'd texted me when product finished but, they did not text me . I had to call daily on status . When I first picked up it was literally as if scanned and printed not restored . I asked if they do again to restore its authenticity they said they would. When I went second time to pick up it was a little better but, not what I expected from pictures on Yelp . Would I recommend this place absolutely not. I ordered I ordered a print on Aluminum for one of my clients birthday. It supposed be done at 2pm,I arrived about 330 and it wasn't done, however a young lady by the name of Sierra dropped what she was doing and took ownership of this challenge. The lobby is closed so they conduct business outside in the hot sun. No shade anywhere. Probably Covid or staffing related, but makes it hard to give the place more stars. In addition, they said they'd call me when my materials were ready and they did not. Finally I called, and they found my order. When I got there the older lady who responded to my knocks on the door couldn't understand my name, even though I repeated it three times. I'm not usually sensitive to this, but she looked at me like I was weird. I gave her the claim check. She went inside, came back out, ask me my phone number, went back inside, I'm standing in the hot sun, finally came out and gave me my products. I asked about shade thinking she would suggest a place but no luck, apology no nothing. I'm also curious why they had so many reviews removed from Yelp. Who prints film anymore?! I do! I love photography and have been shooting with a Canon 7D. I just got a Pentax K1000 (as a valentines gift) and am having so much fun with it! It's exciting to know that not all of my photos will live comfortably in my computer! The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. They taught me how to rewind the film (I previously destroyed 2 rolls of film). The photos came out great! A bit pricey but what do you expect when using and antiquated product that is virtually obsolete. $14 something for a roll of 24 prints. read more

My go-to spot for developing 120 film and getting scans. I love the process they have implemented during this pandemic with a drop-box outside the lab and the ability to pick up your developed film from your car by calling. Scan quality is great. They are a bit pricey but you really get what you pay for as far as quality, turnaround time, and all-around excellent customer service. I had a project I was working on that needed same-day turnaround and they were able to expedite my developing. I will be a lifelong customer because of that. read more

Very happy with my remote film processing experience so far during COVID-19. I've been stuck at home for months and wanted to get some of my huge stack of film developed, but don't live near anywhere that can develop my disposable cameras. I found Fromex after some searching and recently I sent in three rolls to get developed using their prepaid postage. The invoice was sent back to me promptly and the pricing is very good and exactly what I expected. I was really impressed with how fast they started working on my order. Photos are great, MUCH better than cvs or Costco, but DO NOT HAVE THEM SHIPPED TO YOU. I paid $8 on top of my $80 order for photos to be shipped and despite it being first class priority shipping (which takes 3 days), it took 3 WEEKS for my photos. I called a couple times concerned about my order, and the lady on the phone kept blaming covid; maybe this would be true in March, but nothing takes that long by mail anymore. It was my fault for not just picking them up, but with so many photo competitors, I'd expect at least a tracking number with my order and heads up that shipping will take THAT long when I'm placing my order if I'm paying so much for it. Again, photos came out beautifully, but I missed the window for my project which is frustrating. read more

I have been coming here for years and I am disappointed to say I will no longer be returning. The prices for film development have gone up a ridiculous amount. I love supporting local businesses but I can not afford what they charge for a service that I can get somewhere else for less than half the price. The quality of the photos are amazing but not worth the price. I called to ask why they have charged so much to my card and the woman on the phone was unhelpful and very short to explain why they charge so much. I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume I had filled out the form wrong but no they charge an insane amount of fees for development. From now on I will be taking my business elsewhere. In response to the comment: After reading multiple other reviews I now know I am not the only one who believes that this place is extremely overpriced and the customer service is horrible. For such a small business you would expect the service to be better so that they could keep their customers... but I guess they do not care about losing any business. The additional fees are ridiculous and I suggest that everyone should take their business to someone who will appreciate it. I did not spend 21 dollars every time over the past 2 years. Ever since having to drop off my film in the box outside due to covid I have been charged much more.
