This place deserves ZERO stars. I am sincerely baffled by the amount of positive reviews. I called in and spoke to the manager and discussed the weight and dimensions of the item I was planning to ship. The manager tells me to come in the following day. I come in the following day and they say no we can't do it today, come in another day. Essentially the employees do not want to work. When I finally bring it in the employees take an entire hour to tell me they do not have a way to ship my item. Waste of time and a very dishonest inefficient business. read more

The size he found came fairly close to what I needed, so I'm going to give it a try. I was annoyed that I had to buy the box and then Go back to the post office but it turned out that they could ship my item also. I was so relieved. The guy helping me was super helpful and nice. Summary: how could anyone give this place less than 5 stars??? They have everything a small business would need and more at really reasonable (even cheaper than online) prices!!!! Ambiance: they have every box size imaginable... nuff said. . Picking tape, paper, peanuts, tofu things, more packing things, even more packing things... everything... Parking: street parking in the front during certain hours and plenty of parking in the back (access from Topanga as soon as you pass the shop or via cross street before or after). Service: everyone is really cool. Never had an issue with anyone working... Restroom: never tried using the restroom. There is a sign that says restroom not for public use... not sure if that includes customers in the shop or not. Conclusion: big discounts on all shipping needs with really good prices. Again... lots of items cheaper or same price as online! If you're a small business owner or manager and have packaging and/or shipping needs... this is the place for you! read more

The customer service and variety of supplies is awesome! I went here yesterday and the guy that helped me was super helpful and tried to find me the right size box for random measurements I gave. He mentioned if his suggestion didn't work, I could bring my items in to them, and they'd help me more accurately. Unfortunately the box didn't work and so today I brought in my items (25 Funko Pops LOL) and MIGUEL was absolutely amazing!! He measured the Pops and he was spot on with the box size!! He was so helpful and I was so greatful for both guys helpful tips and suggestions and their customer service! They have a large variety of shipping supplies! I found boxes i needed for shipping 12x12 scrapbooking paper pads. They were $1.98 but if you buy 12 you get them for $1.65 so not too bad. I saw the same size boxes online which were $1.04 if you buy 24 but you had to pay for shipping so if you need a lot buy online if not come here! read more

I've been coming here for years for boxes and shipping supplies for various projects and moves. Selection, price, and customer service has always been excellent. But this was the first time I've ever had them package/ship anything for me. And can I just say, WOW? I shipped 8 very precious wall hangings (fine art and a HUGE, framed poster). The manager, Mynor, was SO helpful and assured me he would do a great job, and it would all ship the next day (I came in past the pick-up time). Well, I'm in NYC, and have now received all my art (less than 5 biz days later) and I am SUPER impressed with how well everything was packed! There was so much wrapping and bubble wrap and corner padding, etc. There is NO way I could have done this myself, and I am super grateful that each piece arrived in perfect condition. I've been coming here for years for all my shipping needs and have had nothing but a great experience every time. The staff is normally great and they have stuff at great prices. I came in today with a need for an oversized box to replace my damaged box before shipping thinking I would be able to find one. However they didn't carry it which was understandable as it was a pretty big box and I figured an alternative through buying some other things from them. After paying, I asked if I could step aside and package my things there so I could ship it through their ups/fedex drop off process like I've done many times before. I was rudely told no, and normally I wouldn't care but it was pouring rain outside and I'm carrying a huge box. Common courtesy and customer service would have been to let me package my box and pay them some extra money on top for their ups/fedex service. Instead, I had to leave with the rain damaging my already messed up box some more and being treated poorly as a customer. Won't be coming back here anymore read more

I have used this location to box and ship items for several years. The care they take to carefully wrap and box items is unparalleled. I recently shipped several framed pieces of artwork from California to Florida including an original oil painting valued at $3,000. They carefully wrapped the pieces protecting the work with tissue paper, a layer of styrofoam, a layer of cardboard, and then a double layers of bubble wrap before placing the item in a large mirror box. Additional packing was included to ensure that the items were secure within the box. Every item I have ever shipped has been wrapped and boxed with the same level of care. These guys are great! I've been to this store several times. I come here to find the right size box for a gift. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. There is floor to ceilings shelving with nothing but boxes. They stock everything from tiny gold jewelry boxes to huge cardboard packing crates. If it's a box and you can't find it here; then it doesn't exist. Everything is reasonably priced. I noticed they will also pack your items and mail them if you want. There is lots of parking either out front, on the street or in back off the alley. Their prices are extremely fair for boxes, packaging supplies, jewelry boxes, styrofoam peanuts, tape and a plethora of other items. They can also custom package anything for you for a good price. I brought in an exhaust system for a car that I had sold. The manager personally customized a box, bubble wrapped the chrome exhaust system and packed it in so that it shipped safely without damaging the product. You can tell he was passionate about what he does and takes pride in quality work. Box prices are based on volume too, so if you are buying a dozen, two dozen or more then prices get reduced. Don't stress too much about parking on the main street. There is plenty of parking in lot behind the store along with access to the store from the back. read more

If you need plain cardboard boxes, save yourself A lot of money and look for them behind grocery stores etc. Some of the stuff here is OK quality, but most of it is cheap crap, offbrand products that are overpriced. The tape they sell for shipping tape is completely useless. The staff is helpful, and there are products here that are difficult to find elsewhere. They have excellent customer service, I often buy in bulk for work and they always help me carry all of my items to my car. Box City also offers discounts for large bulk orders.
