Sadly, this wonderful restaurant, one of our favorite places of all time got sold off. We have been coming here for 6 years and through out the years the service and food has always been top tier delicious and amazing hospitality with zero complaints besides one time we had a horrible server and later she was fired which was great and the only time we ever faced any sort of dissatisfactions. With that being said here is how our recent visit went, the hostess greeted us with our asking if we had a reservation. No problem we thought, well upon sitting down at our table she immediately walked away. The busser who cleans tables was the person who got us water and was more attentive than the woman who later we found out was our actual server. We wanted to start off by ordering wine, she recommended a wine but throughout the explanation she wasn't listening to our preferences and got me and our other guest confused. She suggested a drink so we agreed to try it, we were not at all happy with the suggestion so we told her we didn't like it and we would order something else. After that she became nasty and had an attitude the entire time, she only visited our table 2 times and both of those times was only because the busser told her we needed her and the other was to get her attention yet again then she asked how the food was. The food was not at all what we were used to. They entirely changed the menu. There is too much chaos in their menu. Along with the drastic changes in the recipe and presentation. The regular complimentary bread was DRY and cold. Which was the first sign things were going to be bad. The lasagna which was their signature dish and my absolute favorite was no longer good. Internally the pasta was not cooked all the way so there were tough parts. Sure the portion size was bigger, however, the presentation was messy vs its traditional clean look. We ordered a chicken Alfredo to go for another family member and once we got home we found out the chicken was not cooked all the way. And they added an EXTREME amount of garlic into the Alfredo sauce, making the entire pasta dish inedible. Not to mention another dish my mother in law couldn't finish due to the sauce being overwhelming with salt. The server did ask us if everything was alright once she actually took the time to notice she barely even touched the food. How do we even begin to explain to the woman the food was bad when the experience was already sour? Well we decided to leave. Aside from being rude she was just very UN inviting and unpleasant to interact with. Our baby reached for a chemical covered rag in her apron that she proceeded to basically touch our child with by how close she was to the highchair and my child's shoulder. She snatched the rag saying don't touch me, I looked up, and she said oh it has chemicals I don't want her touching it. At this point I was over her nastiness. She should have never gotten that close to our baby and she should never have had a chemical covered rag in her apron considering she is handing out FOOD! The restaurant internally looks the same, however, the food, servers, and quality is just not there anymore. We spent over $240 including a tip she didn't deserve honestly the busser deserved it more than her. That gentleman was attentive and he was the one that had to tell the server to come to our table 3 times. Getting our check itself took 15 MINUTES! We will not be going back. I strongly advise to find another Italian restaurant because this one just went bad. Truly disappointing. They also DO NOT have changing tables in either bathroom, this is not a family friendly restaurant. Tasted the tiramisu we took home for dessert and well they changed the recipe and it's no longer good. Too much powder on top and the liquid they added to the base tastes like windex with coffee. Loved the food! Had lobster ravioli, carbonara pizza, mushroom pasta and some apps: zucchini blossoms and giant mozzarella. For dessert, the cannoli was just okay, spumoni was good. The best is the Espresso Martini. Service was great! Nice restaurant. read more

I first want to say that our server was Gillmarie and she had the BEST ENERGY EVER! she was absolutely amazing and uplifting and had some great food choices for us. We had the Fettuccini Boscaiola which my husband said was excellent and I had a Pear and Gorgonzola salad with Grilled Chicken which was also excellent! Once I figured out when they were open, I was able to visit this restaurant! No complaints on food and service, they have it nailed here. A little on the pricier side, but, worth it - just giving you a warning....you will want to do the full meal deal here - apps, entrees, cocktails, wine and dessert.... The website and trying to figure out their hours of operation was challenging. Hopefully, they have fixed this - we have tried to go several times prior, but, to no avail. Not answering the phone and actually driving by on a Friday night to find them closed. Like so many restaurants and local businesses in Temecula - this is a recurring theme. This is based on the food only. Ordered: Caesar Salad, Caprese Salad, Sausage Pepperoni 10" pizza and Cappriciosa Pizza. Absolutely horrendous showing and Italian authenticity taste. This is presented to be an Italian experience but please save your dollars for better food in Old Town Temecula or down the street elsewhere. The food looks NOTHING like the website and flavor like canned tomato sauce and frozen heat up. I saw this place packed before so I made a reservation, hoping for a nice dinner date. I was very disappointed and it was misrepresented on website. Caesar Salad- dressing came in small ceramic cup on the side for me to mix it in, like it was to go, then biting into the shaved Parmesan cheese consistency was hard; like someone forgot to cover the cheese with plastic wrap and left in fridge uncovered for days. The Caprese Salad was small circular roma tomatoes with small and thin dry modzerella cheese circles jagged cut with very small basil leaves thrown on top. Horrible presentation for both salads, so I was hoping for a good pizza. Pizza was fluffy if you like that but was hoping for a wood fire thin type. That's ok but the tomato base sauce was bland for both pizzas. Proteins like sausage and pepperoni were stiff and rubbery; maybe frozen heat ups?w I skipped going to the usual pizza joints thinking this was more upscale and chef prepared culinary delight like the website. Do not go here, head further to the west for others or do Blaze. Service good, ambiance fair. Again this is based on the food. I hate giving bad reviews, but it is what it is. Go here if you like below average food and want to pay a lot. If you have ever been to Lorna's Italian Kitchen in San Diego University City I base my rating off that as a five star and Botegga italia and Goat and Vine in Old Town Temecula 4 Stars (food only). We enjoyed our dinner here! First time and it did not disappoint. Complimentary focaccia which was very good. We ordered the meatballs and bruschetta as appetizers during their happy hour at 1/2 off. Great deal! We enjoyed some wine, beer ($5 blue moon) and Prosecco. My sun and his fiancée split the spaghetti bolognese and my husband and I split the chicken limone-everything was delicious. I ordered the Spumoni for dessert which wasn't traditional spumoni but still very good. My son had the pistachio gelato and my husband had a cappuccino. Great attentive customer service and pleasant atmosphere. I love how quaint and relaxing it was. We will be coming back! Francesca's has new ownership and this was our first time since they have changed hands. Our waitress was an owner and she was great to talk to! My serving of gnocchi with marinara and burrata was large and cooked perfectly! Burrata... always a win with me! My husband had a seafood pasta and portion, again, was large and he loved the flavors! Most of the time the service is impeccable. When you get Rhett. A great guy! However, Rhett was not working that evening so we had a different server AND we had the worst service we've ever had in any restaurant. Our waitress horrible, unattentive and not friendly at all. She just bought us our cocktails at different times when we ordered them all at the same time. She didn't cleared our table of our finished cocktails, salad and bread plates. We cleared them ourselves by putting them on a table next to us. We ordered a bottle of wine and when she opened it she just poured wine in everyone's glass, never giving a sample to taste to see if we even liked it. After bringing us our food, she never came by our table to see how the food was or if we needed anything. When she finally did come to our table it was to bring our lemon soufflé that you have to order when you order your food. She just sat it down on the table, didn't pour the accompanying sauce to the soufflé (which the server is supposed to do). Btw, the soufflé was amazing The next time we saw her was to give us our check. Again never asking before that how was everything or if we wanted anything else. Came here on a whim the other night. Retry was our server and he was fabulous! He gave good recommendations, was attentive but not bothersome, and very kind. I ordered the lobster ravioli- fabulous sauce! Not enough shrimp. My husband got the amitriciana and said it was average. Not bad, but nothing special. We also got the chocolate soufflé at the end. We'd never had a soufflé before, but I kind of expected more. The texture was good, it came out piping hot, but I think it could have been sweeter. The service was on point! They open @ 4pm, we waited at the door in the rain until they opened. We got seated right away. They give you complimentary bread which was delicious! It was the perfect garlic butter topping. For appetizers they we had the zucchini blossoms and the Mitsi fritti. We tried the lobster ravioli, the shrimp scampi limone, and the chicken Marsala. For desserts I had the chocolate soufflé and my friend had the lemon soufflé. It was different but wanted to try it, it's like a soggy cake. This is real authentic Italian food. Quiet ambiance.
