I am so happy you fellow yelpers recommended this place!! I was in the Lodi area after taking my little one to the zoo, and we were craving pizza. After seeing that this place had consistent positive reviews I went with Franco's. I placed my order with this friendly lady, I got a medium half pepperoni and half with pineapple, I also got a small side salad, the salad was so fresh and crunchy, and the ranch was phenomenal!! We waited a bit and passed time by playing with their games or buying stuff from the quarter machines (HAHAH). Our pizza came out, and by first looks of it I could tell it was generously loaded with cheese and toppings, I took my first bite and OH MY GOSH, my tastebuds were extremely happy. The crust was so delicious and crunchy yet soft! I will definitely be telling my friends in Modesto to try this place out and I will definitely make a drive out here for this pizza! We are pretty strict observers of "Pizza Friday's", yet somehow in 2 years we hadn't tried Franco's until today! We called an order in to pick up (medium, 2 topping, $16), and it was hot & ready at pick up. This pizza was DELICIOUS! Easily one of the top choices in the Lodi area. The crust was a perfect texture, the cheese was stringy and flavorful. For me, I like a lot of sauce (asked for extra on the side) but for the average it was good! I'm sure if I had ordered with extra sauce they would have been happy to oblige! The pizza place itself is doing takeout only currently (Feb 5th), the interior is outdated but very clean. I gave this place a chance...I honestly did. Maybe I got spoiled by other pizza buffets in the past. Before when I have gone to an all you can eat pizza place usually there is one neutral pizza like cheese, maybe one pepperoni and something else. Here when we walked in there wasn't even pizza at first. We asked about the buffet and the woman behind the counter stated that it was "in the oven". I looked around and noticed that there were more than a few parties with empty plates waiting for pizza. When they did bring out a pizza a few minutes later I was lucky enough to be standing right there, lucky I was. The single medium sized pizza they brought out was 4 different kinds, and what should have been 8 pieces of pizza was cut into 16 small pieces. I guess to make people think you get more? So on the pizza they brought out again and again it would only have a few pieces that I actually would want to eat. We asked the woman behind the counter if anything else would be coming out, say a different topping and she seemed confused and almost offended. Another question was asked of her concerning the toppings and the guy from in back poked his head out and got all defensive. We asked if there were other toppings like olives, sausage, and he said no. When we asked him if they served those toppings on pizzas he said yes, but not in the buffet. Really? Seriously? You can't throw a couple of different topping on every other pizza? Add to that they don't have free refills on their soda. At a buffet. Honestly soda is one of the cheapest things a restaurant sells, and at an all you can eat it's almost insulting they don't serve free refills. Imagine if Round Table and your nice salad eating mom hooked up and had a baby. Boom, this place. 4 of us went at lunch time and we're satisfied. 2 medium pizzas were served at a time. Both were 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 combo. They were okay. Nothin to do the happy food dance about. The salad bar was very basic. Iceberg lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, jack cheese, carrots, red beans, garbanzo beans, and 4 different types of dressing. They also served pasta with a pesto sauce. Pretty good. But again, not worth the happy food dance. The dessert was either chocolate or rice pudding. Soda refills are NOT free. Really? Yup. Lame. Customer service was friendly. Overall, I wouldn't go back. This place is a hidden gem. Only place in Cali that I've come across that makes pizza pie like the hard-working and proud Italians of Philly, Jersey, and NYC. It's all about the pizza dough- bursting with a heavenly flavor that can only be created by an artisan, and requires a prolonged, well-controlled fermentation. I've been focusing on the calzones, which I order without the sauce (sauce on the side), so I can really enjoy the amazing flavor of the crust. Highly recommended. 08/2015 - This is still the best pizza in Lodi. we have been coming here for several years and compare every place to it. The owners know us from coming in so often and they are amazing people. This is one of the best dinner deals in the city of Lodi, hard to beat all you can eat for $7. The cheese and rust are great 4/13/2012 - The price is right and the cheese is good n streeeeeetchy. I love this little Mom & Pop pizza joint and the owners too, they are both so sweet. I don't know what it is about their cheese but it is just THE best out of every pizza restaurant I have ever tried. Their pizzas have plenty of toppings and delicious crunchy crust that comes with just the perfect amount of sauce. My favorite is their Chef's Special. The owner once told my boyfriend that it was his and his daughter's favorite pizza as well. Prices are decent, about the same cost as Round Table or any other pizza joint, about $22-25 for a large, depending on which kind you order. You also get a free two liter drink when you order for pick up. A cup of Ranch is an extra $2, which I always get because their pizza just tastes so good dipped in it. I already loved this place before tonight, but this cemented my feelings for Franco's Pizza. I was on my way home and wanted to get pizza for my husbands birthday. I got here just at 8pm, not even realizing how late it was. I went to turn around to leave when the female owner called out to me. She told me to come in and order. I told her it's no big deal, they are closed, I don't mind going somewhere else. She insisted I come in and order. It was the nicest thing I've experienced in the food industry. My family and I have been coming to Franco's for over 15 years, so I know she did it because she recognized me, but still, I use to work in a pizza place, I know how annoying last minute customers are. We decided to try Franco's, walked in and no one inside but the workers. We weren't sure about it, but decided to stay and give it a chance. Asked the older lady behind counter what she recommended and she said combination and Hawaiian and let us know we can get a 1/2 & 1/2 pizza , ordered a med 1/ & 1/2 asked for jalapeños on the Hawaiian side, we also got , a small salad with ranch, a coke and a beer. Now the place looks like it can use a make over but I must say it was Clean , table wasn't all sticky or crumbs on the floor, it was nice and clean , we surely we didn't go for the aesthetics we went for pizza. The salad was nothing special, broccoli carrots and lettuce oh and a bag with croutons but I must say salad was fresh, crisp and cold and the ranch yummy, croutons were crunchy and not soggy or stale , The beer was cold just like it should be. They brought our pizza to the table along with Parma cheese, red pepper flakes and Tapatio ( my eyes bulged out, my favorite) Pizza was not lacking toppings and man the amount of jalapeños well let me tell you it's as if they knew to put enough for every bite , it was the perfect amount, pizza had a crisp bottom and the top was A perfect pillow dough with the perfect amount of toppings, the combination pizza was yummy, loved that they used white onions vs purple. After looking at the pictures of the pizzas in the yelp reviews of Franco's, we were really looking forwards going there. We went there for dinner at 5 o clock, when we walked in there all the tables were empty except two . We went up to the counter to order for dine in and after ordering , the lady went into the back kitchen and came back and told us it would be 45 minutes, because they had a lot of to go orders. Seriously! Considering that it only takes about 7 minutes to bake a pizza and that the place was empty we were a little shocked at her telling us that. Unfortunately, after reading all the reviews I could say that a percentage of them are fake from made up accounts most of the reviews have no profile picture no one is following them and they have hardly any check-in's all these fake yelp accounts are made up to boost the positivity of a restaurant and unfortunately this restaurant does not stand up to the reviews that it's getting. This pizza place has been around for many years and I have visited it in the past when it was owned by an old Italian couple it was then sold the new owners did not do anything to change the business is fine but they did start to skimp out on the quality of their food and ingredients. I do think that yelp needs to go through and look at all these reviews because there's no way that this restaurant should have almost 5 stars based on what I've seen. I do see there are a few good yelpers on here that have real accounts and genuinely care and of course some of them said the food is good but then honestly if you feel like this is the best pizza in Lodi you're sadly mistaken as far as a family-owned business that's a possibility that it's the best family-owned business. After all, it's difficult to have good quality pizza at a family-owned restaurant because most people don't know what they're doing when it comes to making pizza but they have the original recipe from the original owners so I don't believe it changed that much. Overall this restaurant is very large and I'm honestly surprised that it makes enough money to cover the rent I cannot say that I will visit this restaurant it's very outdated not as clean as it should be and the customer service is lacking. If you're going to put out good quality food have amazing customer service and clean restaurant then I can completely see where all these reviews would be valid but unfortunately I know 100% that the younger generation of owners that are involved in this restaurant more than likely have a bunch of friends and family who made fake accounts to boost the legitimacy of this restaurant. When it comes to pizza hands-down this is not the best pizza in Lodi there are many other good pizza restaurants Poor restaurants that just serve pizza along with their other menu items granted most of them are pizza chains but you can go out to Lockeford and get better pizza and better customer service in a cleaner environment. I tried ordering for pizzas on a Friday night, had a family coming over to eat with us. They would not take our order, because it was too large. I have never heard of a pizza restaurant not asking for more. I guess for Francos it is too hard of a problem for them. My advice, Dantes in Stockton. When my little brothers played soccer (years ago) we came to Franco's often to celebrate. Years later, I decided to take my husband in for the dinner buffet and I forgot how much I loved this place! Their pizza is not too greasy. Buffet is simple but I like it. You have a small salad bar, 2-3 types of pizza (at least on the night that we came) and for dessert they have chocolate and vanilla (I think, haven't tried it) pudding. Overall good place. This review is for the pizza buffet only... My last review of this establishment was two years ago. It's time to update to warn others that the quality is not the same as it was then. Back then they had a larger variety of toppings and more cheese on the pizza. Isn't that what we eat pizza for? To confirm the difference you can look at the photos I posted two years ago versus the current photos that Yelpers are posting. I actually looked forward to returning today. But after the meal, decided that it was a waste of money. My suggestion instead of cheaping out would be to raise the price $.50, $1 or $1.50 to cover the cost of "better" toppings. You lower your quality and people will not return. We paid $20 for several small slices of very mediocre pizza and a small picture of soda. No plans to return here. Most of the "better" reviews for the buffet are two years old. They used to put out specially pizzas and take requests. They no longer do that. Boo for the no refills on soda! They do have a decent crust. Now all they have to do is top that crust with decent toppings and more cheese. read more

Family of 6 and we all ate under $50. That's only a few $$ more than some fast food places. It was really great. The ladies were nice, the pizza was yummy and the price was right. Wish the salad bar had a little more when it came to toppings and they had given a plate so you wouldn't have to mix things if you got fruit or potato salad with your green salad. Still not enough to take one star away. Only issue was a man who may or may not have been homeless came in and asked for change got pizza. He obviously saw we had a good amount left so we gave him 2 slices. He then asked us for soda. Lol. I was shocked. But whatever better than giving cash. At least he had a full belly.
