I love their Gourmet Veggie! I omit sun dried tomatoes. Their garden salad is nice and hearty. Ranch is tasty. I would come here more often if their customer service wasn't so poor. On multiple occasions, their wait is long and the servers only come by every so often. On 1 occasion, all my pizzas didn't come out at the same time, so one pizza got cold waiting for the others. read more

Good pizza. Bad service. Worst prices. Always get it a little extra brown to get that crust good and hard on the bottom. The sauce is dope even if it is just zhuzh'd up canned stuff. This place use to crush on Friday night's. Their 2% charge on CC is a soul crush. I've said once, I've said it a dozen times. Adding charges only hurts your servers. All charges need to be reflected in your menu prices. This places menu has always been on the pricey side of pizza. They should offer cash discount rather than just punishing card users. We stopped by Rick's Pizza in Lodi and were not disappointed! We kept it simple and ordered a small pizza--half New Yorker, half pepperoni & pineapple--and it came out absolutely delicious. You can tell they know what they're doing when it comes to crust, sauce, and toppings. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with friendly service, and the bill at the end was super reasonable. One thing I really appreciated was the classic pizza parlor smell and vibe--it's something you don't get much anymore in newer spots. Ain't nothing like it. I've been ordering from Rick's for almost 20 years, and they've always been solid. Consistent food, friendly service, and fast delivery every single time. I really appreciate the delivery drivers! They are so kind and nice! This time I got a large pizza, half combination and half Hawaiian, six wings, and a family-sized salad. The pizza was exactly what I wanted. Crispy crust, plenty of toppings, not greasy. The wings were juicy and had great flavor, and the salad was fresh with a ton of crunchy croutons, chickpeas, kidney beans, and cold crisp lettuce. Plus, they pack generous portions of dressing on the side which I love. I appreciate that Rick's never skimps or changes up on quality. I also appreciate that they do fundraisers for many of our local schools as well! After all these years, they're still my go-to for pizza night. read more

Very poor customer service. Ordered and waited an hour and 40 minutes for my order. ( past the 1 hour delivery time they told me). Pizzas and salad arrived without the dressing and so we called back in and they didn't care. Said it would be another 30 minutes if we wanted that. Like it was our fault. I wanted one of the best quality and tastiest pizzas for my Birthday in our area!! I like the red checkered table clothed table decor inside and also the red booths. Makes it feel like a cozy italian cafe. Our server was great! She took our order fast and the pizza was well worth waiting for. We asked for the bottom crust to be cooked well done. Great for a crowd, a party or an after game snack. Their pizza is hearty and their beer is cold. The items that come out of their kids vending machines, however can be a bit offensive: one offers items with butts on them, one had famous cinematic killers and one had weapons. If I had one complaint it would be to stop stocking the kids vending machines with crap like that. Families enjoy this establishment and the kids enjoy the arcade area. read more

Rick's is the best pizza I have had in Lodi, California. I always look forward to it when my partner's parental units want to take us here. Recently we came to pickup from his wine club and stopped here for an early dinner just the two of us. Very romantic ambiance here, don't be fooled by the nondescript strip mall. It is on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it for how delicious it is. And how filling. Bring a friend or the family or whoever. They do have coupons floating about but as I don't even go here I don't know how to get any. Big fan of the cheese and/or veggie combo pies since I stopped eating meat. They have a serious combo for people who eat both. Chonky pizzas with piled toppings, but not so bad that everything falls off. Quality cheese blend and crust that isn't too much crust. They do have a thin crust available as well. House salad with the bean medley, when both pizza sauce and ranch is applied, is so tasty. I've never had that anywhere else. Don't skip their house made ranch, now. They have several hot sandwiches to choose from as well, and I saw one veggie sandwich offered. There is also a fancier veggie pizza with artichokes and garlic. Other options include, wangs, garlic bread, soups, salads with meat in them, Gluten Free pizza crust, and cauliflower pizza crust. I did not see the word vegan anywhere, so you would have to ask about that to see what you can eat if you're vegan. Waitresses are nice. Ambiance is nostalgic. Rick's reminds me of the defunct Auburn Round Table we used to have birthday parties at in the 90's. It's cute how similar our hometowns are when I think about it. Today (Thursday) I decided to get pizza for dinner once again, but this time I ordered pizza from somewhere different. I usually always go to the same place, literally 4-5 days per week I get the same thing, cheese pizza with lite white sauce and extra extra cheese -cooked super crispy. Every once in a while I want some good quality, hearty, great tasting pizza, that's when I visit restaurants like this. Ricks New York Style Pizza has been around for over 40 years, (according to the banner I read while walking into the restaurant). Places like this are my favorite because you know there's going to be good food made, not food that resembles cafeteria food. A couple things that stand out today that make me happy is the Ranch dressing is great and the sausage is actually sausage, not little pebbles that most pizza places have these days. Going back to the ranch dressing, they have really good salads. Kind of basic, but really good. Lettuce, kidney beans, garbanzo beans and croutons. Maybe red onion, I'm not sure exactly. But I enjoy the ranch of course and I also really like their Italian. It's a red Italian dressing. Something definitely new for me. I never saw this anywhere. I have to say it's really good. In fact I usually get my salads with both of those dressings. You should try it. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. I ordered a pizza while I was out of town for my mom and kids. I was quoted 45-1hr. Almost an hour and a half later and still no pizza. The delivery location as literally 5 minutes from the pizza location (by Reese school). I was starting to worry that I gave them the wrong address. When I called, the manager Steven was horribly rude. I asked if he had any idea of when we would get our food (it's now 8:40 pm) and I ordered over an hour and a half ago. He said he had no idea...that it didn't matter where we were located, there were other deliveries before mine. Then he asked if I still wanted the pizza!!? My thought was that if he can't track the delivery driver to see how long my pizza would take, how can he track it to recall it and refund me? He didn't have an answer, he just asked me what I wanted him to do about it? I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was my job to tell him how to be a manager! I asked if he would give us some kind of credit since it took so long and he said "not with the way you're talking to me, I'm not giving you anything". I'm very disappointed at this restaurant. We have been here multiple times in the weekends where we have got there 30 minutes before closing since they close at 10pm and have been attended with good service until today. I got there with my family mind you at 9:30 pm and decided to eat inside the restaurant once again. As soon as I'm about to sit, a gentleman that works there tells me that they stop taking orders. I was shocked since there's like 30 minutes before closing. I totally understand if we weren't able to eat there at that time but professionally since I worked in the food industry even if a customer comes minutes before closing we HAVE TO attend them. I visited this restaurant for the first time and I had a great experience. It's definitely a no-frills, hometown/family-oriented kinda place. The food and customer service were good. We arrived about an hour before they closed and they were still pretty busy. There was only one server, but she did an excellent job making her way around the room and giving each table attention. The portion sizes are generous, I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it was enough to share (and both have two servings). Let me be clear, I am rating this service and NOT the food. The short girl whose name I assumed starts with a K, not sure because she doesn't even wear a name tag but her name is like Kaylee or Kierra (not sure) ANYWAYS this has got to be the 3rd time I came and she is super passive aggressive, she acts like she never wants to help me or answer any questions. It's disappointing even leaving this review because my family has supported this place for years but at this point I have made the decision to never come back. I've been to Ricks a few times now and I think I know the place well enough to have an opinion. I've been lucky in that I haven't experienced rude or bad service. I've always called in my order and came in to pick it up. But the pizza itself is really the subject I'm critiquing. First of all, this is not New York style pizza. New York style pizza is very thin crust, floppy almost, so you can fold a slice with one hand, and the size of the pies are usually larger than typical midwestern style pizzas like Ricks is. If you dont ask for thin crust, you get the typical bready crust that East Coasters hate about the pizza found is most of the rest of the country. If you do ask for thin crust, you get slightly less bready crust than their standard crust, but it is still very bready and not as thin as say the thin crust you can get from most other places in town. Now on to toppings. This is not a problem I ever thought I'd have with a pizza, but they are actually too generous with their toppings, to the point where when I ask them to be even and light on the toppings, there's still too much. I like subtle flavors like olives and mushrooms. You don't over populate a pizza with those sorts of things, to the point where no cheese is visible. There has to be some amount of common sense involved here. And speaking of. They slice their olives vertically, instead of diagonally, so you don't get nice little rings, you get thick wedges. And if you want fresh tomatoes on your pizza, they put whole slices on after it comes out of the oven, instead of diced and then cooked along with the pie like every other pizza joint does. And now what makes a pizza signature to it's house, the sauce to cheese ratio. Towards the edge of the pizza can be found an adequate amount of sauce, but the majority of the interior, there is not enough to be able to detect very well. As for the cheese, well I'd have to order a plain cheese pizza to know for sure because I usually can't see or taste it much due to the over abundance of toppings. All in all the pizzas here are pretty good, just a little unusual, and not quite what they claim to be. And they aren't grifting you on size yet like others have. Their small, medium, and large pizzas are still 12, 14, and 16 inches respectively, where some others have decided to make theirs 10, 12, and 14. But for a town where you can get pizza at nearly 30 different places, I'm honestly surprised that these guys manage to stay in business, if simply for the fact that their pizzas are over priced. My medium, two "non premium" topping pizza last night was $25 before tip! Most pizza places these days at least have take out specials or something for simple pizzas like this. I can get a large 1 topping pizza for take out for around $10 at a number of places around town. read more

went to Rick's Pizza today to get a sandwich didn't want pizza so I got the turkey bacon. The sandwich came with no turkey actually one paper thin slice and a bunch of bacon. I went to the waitress and said where is the turkey she says we weigh 4 ounces it was 3 1/2 ounces of bacon a half ounce of turkey. It wasn't a turkey bacon sandwich, I would never go back.
