Frangipani is a cool winery in Temecula!! A friend recommended it so we tried it last weekend and enjoyed it! The best part about frangipani is the amazing outdoor seating area! There's plenty of tables and seats that overlook the grapevines and another seating area and you can see the rolling hills of Temecula! This made the atmosphere super enjoyable and relaxing! There's also staff serving wine outside which is a bonus! The wines were ok - not really my favorites from the trip and not super memorable. My favorite was the cabernet franc because of its bold flavor but subtle tones. Definitely get a Groupon if you're going for the first time! The deal isn't as good as it used to be - we paid $30 for two tastings (6 each) and a cheese plate so it wasn't too bad! The tastings are about 1 oz pours and they don't have too many things on the menu so between two people, you can really try most things! Service was a little on the slow side and we had to go inside to get a few of our pours because the outside bartenders were moving a little slowly. read more

My first time in Temecula wine country! Got my Groupon down pat and i must say i am very impressed. For $29 you get a wine tasting session for 2 people with a free meat and cheese plate. You get six pours each of any on their selection and whatever you like you can order by the glass or bottle. I think it is a nice concept, very affordable and i like the ambience. They have an outside patio overlooking the winery itself. It is owned by Don Frangipani, winemaker. I liked the Rose` merlot and their Sangria. The best winery here. This has easily become one of my favorite wineries in Temecula. The service is amazing and the view of the vineyards and area is everything. Whenever I go out to the area this is always a stop. Frangipani is a smaller winery in Temecula, but we had a wonderful relaxed time using the Groupon we purchased. The views are outstanding from the outdoor tables. The inside wine tasting area is sparse and it appears most of the tastings are done outside at the tables. The view is fantastic so no worries there. Our servers were nice, but there was not many descriptions of each wine. A cheese and salami platter came with, and I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was as it was served on a glass plate. "Off the beaten path" definitely rings true for this Temecula winery. Tastings are $12 for your choice of 6 pours. If you want to try the library reds, the tasting will cost you $15. Nearly all of the grapes are estate grown, so as you taste ask your server to point out where on the property the wine comes from. My two favorites are the Sangria and the Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon. Sangria is sold by the bottle and the mason jar. The Syrah/Cab is mostly Syrah (about 75%), so it could actually be called Syrah on its own. There are bocci ball courts and lovely picnic seating onsite making visiting Frangipani tons of fun. Dogs as of lately are no longer allowed in the tasting room. There was an altercation between a dog and the winery pup (just barking) that caused a visitor stress, so now only service dogs are allowed in the tasting room. If you happen to be there when it isn't busy you might be able to persuade the staff to let your dog come into the tasting room. The winery dog is super friendly, and the winery cat will make sure to keep an eye on you too! read more

Bought a Groupon for $27 and got 6 wine tastings each for 2 people and a meat and cheese plate. I called to get a reservation the same day and they had availability for 2 people. I would come back for the wine and amazing view. My friend and I had a crazy two days with family this Thanksgiving and the last minute excursion here was peaceful and a great break from everything. Our wine waitress was Heather and she was pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable about the wine and the local area. My favorite wine was the sangria but I honestly enjoyed ALL of the wines I tried which is rare. I usually walk away not liking the dryer wines but the dry wines were full of flavor and bold. We decided to do our wine tastings outside as there was an event going on inside and I'd suggest doing your wine tastings outside as well because of the view. Everyone that worked there went out of their way to check on us and let us know about the deals they had going on inside. This is a hidden jewel! It's perfect. We came back here about 4 times over the last couple of years. For us it's all around 5 stars, from staff, to location to the wine. Frangipani is located in on a hill on top of the wine yard and right below a citrus grove. The view from the patio is picturesque. There are appetizers available for purchase. This was my favorite winery of our Thanksgiving 2015 trip to Temecula! The most amazing part...it wasn't on my list of wineries to go to! We liked what we saw from the road, so we turned in just as they were opening. We pulled into the parking lot, parked and as we were opening our doors, a dog came walking out to greet us. We are all huge dog lovers, so we looked at once another and said "Is this dog coming to lead us in?" Yes, that was exactly what she was doing. She walked over, we pet her (I got on the ground and basically hugged her -- I was missing my pups!) and then she turned around and started walking into the tasting room. She'd check back to make sure we were following her. The tasting room was nice, not too large and not too commercialized feeling. I wish I'd written down the name of the gentleman who helped us because he was top of the life fantastic. So knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. The three of us really enjoy wine, but we are still beginners when it comes to actually knowing about it. So we had a lot of questions and it was really nice to feel like we could openly ask them and not be judged for not knowing the answers. He even took the time to explain the difference in a Port vs Sherry (a question I'd always had!) The wines were really, really good. Between the three of us, some of our favorites were: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, NV D'Vino, Sauvignon Blanc, Estate Grenache Rose. We also tried a few different wines that were not part of our tasting packages that were really delicious. We each bought a bottle of something, wish we could have taken more but we had to watch our limits for the flight home. There was also a cat, named Barrel, who sought our attention as soon as he decided we were okay people. Franny was the dog, and she was so sweet and tolerated my hugs and kisses. What a gorgeous winery!!! The front gate, large sign, and long driving entrance...sexy. The grape vines growing along the dirt path...made me stop, stare at the young grapes, and snap pictures. I liked how the resident dog greeted us in the parking lot. Inside was huge and open. It has a cabin-like, earthy feeling, which I enjoyed. The plate of grapes, cheese, salami, and crackers was refreshing and fit well with the wines. I guess the cat thought everything was delicious as well because he jumped into the chair as if he was a human hanging out with us. Then he jumped on the table to get closer to the plate of goodies. Luckily, he added to our giggles for the day. As for the wines...the sangria was the best for me. There was plenty to choose from, but not very many sweet and bubblies to select. One of the wines still had pulp and remains as if it was freshly ground. Nothing to make me run away. With the groupon special, I was given a bottle in a nice little gift bag. As for the back patio and tables...they made you want to sit and relax for hours. The scenery below the hill and all around...beyond euphoric! Below was a garden area with picnic tables and grass. It would be perfect for a small wedding. You could also see grapevines, homes on the hills, and simply enjoy the air and sun. I'd definitely go back just to enjoy the scenery! We went on Saturday 01-27-24. We knew the vines would not have leaves; we will certainly return in the summertime. There were at least 3, happy dogs roaming around indoors. This just added to the laid-back and friendly feel of this winery. It was in the 70s, somewhat-windy outside, but we opted to sit outside anyway and enjoy the sun with our wine. We tried some reds. All were delicious. This was our Saturdate, and well worth the trip to this family-owned winery, followed by some shopping in Old Town Temecula. We can't wait to bring our friends to enjoy an afternoon at this winery. Lastly, the hosts and owner were quite friendly. WOW. Our first time wine tasting EVER, and not only was the amateur wine enthusiast (wife) pleased but so was the wine-avoider (husband). We did the two person wine tasting, and our server- well, our amazing wine tasting guide because she was so much more than a server- Kabarielle was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable, funny, personable, prompt and full of tips/tricks/how-tos to make the best of our time. All of the wines were delicious and since we happened to come on a Sunday, we opted to have a $5 glass of sangria after our tasting. My husband would highly suggest the Sherry, and I would suggest the Sangria, Grenache, and the Trio. All were impeccable. The tasting consisted of 6 pours, a cheese and meat platter and if you buy their Groupon/make a reservation you received a bottle D'Vino. It is a must for any wine lover, or the wine beginner. Also! This winery is a small one that we had to take a dirt road to get to but it was definitely worth it! The wine was very good and Brooke was very accomodating! It was hot outside but they have misters which helped a lot. Their patio view is absolutely beautiful!! We did the groupon for $10 a person and it came with two tastings and a full glass of wine. Bought a Groupon for a great deal and decided to celebrate my 34th birth day with my girls at Frangipani. We had really great service from Tyler while we were there and we had a great time. Towards the end of the tasting, I had my brand new white hat on the table and Tyler poured some wine, missed the glass and it spilled on my new white hat. Tyler didn't have any reaction to it (yea, a little surprising) and i was pretty dissapointed but I didn't make a big deal out of it. My sister jumps in and says "oh, soda water takes out wine stains, can you get us some soda water?" Tyler brings back soda water and i put it on the wine stains. It wasn't coming out, but I figured i'd take it home and try to get the stains out. Long story short, tried oxy clean, laundry detergent and even bleach... nothing took the stains out. My Hat was ruined and I threw it out. I called the winery the next week and spoke to Tyler and filled him in. I asked him if they (the winery) could make it right. Can you replace my hat or reimburse me for the hat? Tyler says he can't make the decision and that the owners are out running errands and he will get the message over. I never got a call back. I called again about 2 weeks later to follow up, and the same thing, owners are out running errands and he will get the message to them. I went wine tasting June 28th, and now we are in August. I'm waiting on a call still. Poor follow up and it's dissappointing. I'm a very fair person, at least give me a call and make this right. We left the winery late (around 10) and where having a hard time getting a Lyft or Uber to us; the people working at the winery where very sweet and offered to drive us back to the hotel! I have been coming to this winery for many years. It is a small family owned winery and very beautiful. The grounds are breathtaking. It would be a great option for a wedding or a gathering of friends. From the Jenga, to awesome servers to the galley dog and cat on premise. This winery is one of a kind.
