She wasn't a pushy sales type which I liked as she sat in the chair the entire time. The store was clean although didn't have the options I was looking for. I normally go outside my insurance network to Lens Crafters off Northern - but decided this time to try Vision Works in Avondale instead (in network). I did end up finding a pair of frames I could live with and had my glasses with lenses back within a week. I'd recommend this place solely based on the employees- as for the frame options (next time I'd probably return to Lens Crafters as they have many/variational options to choose from which I prefer). The individuals behind the counter are looking right at the screen and told me they have no idea what RLE is. They had to contact the doctor to confirm what RLE was. Complete waste of time. But not at Primera Vista optical, as soon as I walked through the door I was pleasantly greeted, my time was a priority to them as well as my health and vision. The staff at Primera Vista was helpful from the very start and once it was time for the exam I was introduced to the doctor where again I was pleasantly greeted. She was absolutely amazing, spent the time to really hone down my eye sight to near perfect while explaining every detail why my eye sight was the way it was. The actual HONEST level of care you expect from a doctor. After the exam I returned to the Primera Vista's lobby to try on some frames just to get an idea of what I was looking for, not expecting to purchase anything at that moment because in the past I usually ordered them online but in doing so you never really know if they fit right or look good. Not once was I attacked by Primera Vista's staff or felt pressured into buying anything but, with so many frame options I decided to ask for an outside opinion. Primera Vista's whole staff helped me with their honest input on what looked good on me and what fit well. It really helped me find a frame I was confident with and felt confident in. When I asked the price expecting some outrageous number to a pleasant surprise it was around the same price as online and I will get my glasses so much faster plus I actually know I like the frames. The experience was so incredible I just had to share it with everyone as I wish more places would treat their patients like this. Negative rating: I…read moream extremely disappointed with my experience and, unfortunately, will not be returning. I recently received an email and text notifying me of an appointment on 8/9. Since I am currently waiting to hear from the office about an appointment to pick up and fit my new glasses, I reasonably assumed that was what the appointment was for. At no point had anyone explained to me that it was standard practice to schedule a routine follow-up appointment a year in advance. Because I wasn't available at the scheduled time, I called the office to clarify and reschedule. Deanna answered the phone, and when I asked about the appointment, her response was, in a noticeably negative and condescending tone, "Did you read the message?" I was honestly taken aback and asked what she meant. She then reiterated that I needed to read the entire date because the appointment was for next year. The misunderstanding itself would have been incredibly easy to clear up and was not a problem. The way I was spoken to absolutely was. I have worked in customer service and management for approximately 30 years, and I would never tolerate an employee speaking to a customer this way for asking a reasonable question. A simple, "I can see how that would be confusing. That appointment is actually your annual follow-up for next year," would have resolved the entire situation in seconds. Instead, I was made to feel as though I was foolish for calling and asking for clarification. Customer service matters, especially in healthcare, where patients should feel comfortable calling with questions without worrying about being talked down to. I no longer feel comfortable doing business with this office and have requested a full refund so I can take my business somewhere that treats customers with basic courtesy and respect.
