I recently had a very negative and dangerous encounter with a driver from Frank Gay Services. While merging onto the highway in normal traffic, the driver in the attached picture aggressively cut us off and ran us completely off the road. We had to swerve hard to avoid a collision, and it was only by the grace of God that no one was hurt. This is how you treat standard drivers on the road? I can't imagine how poorly you treat actual paying customers if this is the level of professionalism and road safety your team demonstrates. Do not use this company. As with other reviews they over charge by a lot. During an electrical inspection I was quoted 300$ to replace a fire alarm that the "so called" electrical service person said was out of code. A bold faced lie. We had a fireman here within the last few months who replaced the batteries and made no mention of it. Other quotes were even more appalling. Simply do not use this scam company. read more

I'm because of how upset I am with services. They came out and did a job for me. I was told it was $403.63. I was gonna have them do a different job also so I gave them a check for $643.65. The job was cost me 2573. I another way within three business I canceled the job. They sent me a 03 telling me they were charging me 540 because I said it was OK for them to do that. Who in mind is going to give a extra money when they canceled within the allotted time anyway the job ended up being a 20 minute job and the plumbing parts cost me $60. The problem is I am unable to get aprofessional on the phone from this company. Only somebody named Sharon who I guess is their first line of defense. She kept repeating herself telling me that I told them they can have I job come on does that make any sense at all to anybody out there? Who knows plumbers cost a fortune. Anyway, I just wanna give everybody a chance to realize that this company is a scammer. You will never get satisfaction with them on the phone and if you are use them, make sure you read every word of the invoice because they do not put details on the invoice. just give you a total amount but not break it down. Had my house basically rewired to bring my electricity up to code in my house. They did a terrible job. Still not fixed after the work was done. The inspector has failed them four times now. Had to take four days off work just for the failed inspections with over 1200 dollars of lost wages. Tried to get Frank Gay to fix all the problems but is still not fixed in over three months. I have spent over 10 k with them to do a crap job. Never let them in your house or business. You call customer service and you get a song and dance. Just awful and it has been a nightmare. Beware of trusting their google reviews as I can personally attest to the fact that they delete the bad ones there. This is the most inefficiently run business I've ever seen. No communication between departments results in nonsensical scheduling and leads to extremely poor customer service. They overbook their technicians hoping for as much $$$ as they can with no regard for the time of their employees or their customers. I called Frank Gay Services because my ceiling fan and light kit weren't working. The electrician came and all he did related to my fan was pull the wall switch to confirm there was power. He never looked at the ceiling fan itself but tried to upsell me $2000 worth of repairs to my circuit breaker panel and $1000 surge protector, which I already had. When I asked if he was going to get up on a ladder and look at my ceiling fan, he said " Oh, we don't do appliance repair"! Then why did he come out at all? Why didn't they tell me that in the first place when I called to say my ceiling fan wasn't working? I would never use Frank Gay Services again; total waste of my time and money. read more

I was having a problem with my water heater. When the Text came out, I told him. I thought I needed a new one. He took a glance at my water heater and gave me a quote for a new one. He did not actually inspect or touch my water heater. He's simply gland, stat it. Since he's the professional, I believed him. I gave him a $700 deposit for a new water heater to be replaced in a week when I had the remaining funds. The next day my water heater issue was resolved. I called Frank Gay, and canceled. I was told I would receive my deposit back within 5 to 10 business days. It has been 25 days. And I still have not received my deposit. Every time I call. They tell me that it has been approved, but I must wait an additional 5 to 10 business days. Do not use this company. They only glass that my water heater and told me. I needed a new one without figuring out what was actually wrong. Clearly there was nothing wrong with the water heater. My issue was with my plumbing. They are simply out to get your money, and then they don't wanna return it when you cancel the service. read more

We requested electric service from this company since there wasn't power going into the water heater. The technician asked for a $350 up front to find out what the problem was. Before he started the discovery process he said the electrical panel had to be replaced and gave us a ballpark quote of $5,000. He mentioned that the cable going from the panel to the water heater was bad and needed to be replaced. In the same call he offered the service maintenance plan for $250 a year... We called another electrician who changed the cable for $50 dollars worth of materials and an hour of labor. He also said that the panel wasn't overheating so it did not need to be changed and it costs $80 at Lowe's. Frank Gay is a rip-off. read more

Chris Porter was our service technician for our house call, and was very pleasant and helpful while fixing our outdoor plumbing issue. He explained everything he was doing and why. Frank Gay Services answered our call on Thanksgiving (yesterday), and were willing to come out that day. Fortunately, we were able to wait until today to get the job done, and Chris arrived shortly after 10:30 am. That's a big deal in our book because the plumbing company we used before did not have an emergency call line, and we probably would have waited more days to be "scheduled" for service, as in past calls. We did not have running water, so waiting was not an option. The fix was fast and appears to be well done. There is a one year warrantee on this work, so that is a big plus. I recommend Frank Gay Services of Lady Lake. Especially in a pinch. read more

Our AC unit stopped working so we called Frank Gay Services. A service tech showed up the next day, took a very long time to diagnose the problem and came back with stating that there was a freon leak. We ended up paying over $700 for freon, only to have the unit completely stop working the very next day. I left them a message, and their very pathetic reply was to offer us a payment plan for a new unit. read more

I just had Frank Gay out for a second diagnosis & bid to repair my 2 yr old Carrier HVAC system with a broken motor. While the service tech was very nice and the problem was agreed as the motor. The bid was more than twice as much as the Sun Cool quote. The part is warranted. This is labor cost. I ask how long it would take to repair and he said,about an hour. WOW Be aware guys! read more

NEGATIVE 5 STARS I am writing this review from The Villages Fl. For my elderly neighbor who had the misfortune of using this incompetent company. She called them about whole house water filter . They not only upsold her on a water softener unit she did NOT need ( thousands of dollars) . First they put the drain for the unit ( worst hole cut into a house I have ever seen ) to drain into her flower bed and killed all the plants ! Then they sent a woman , from original crew out alone, in 100 degree weather to dig the plants up. She left a mess. Then they said front outdoor plug was not working , notified by same woman, found the GFI . It was the plug they plugged the unit into! water softer NEVER was ON ! Now elderly neighbor goes out front to let dog out @6 am and water is rushing out of garage and down the street ! a pipe they installed broke open. She now has water mitigation at her house and walls are going to need to be open up as moisture meter says the water got behind them ! Oh and mind you the first time The elderly neighbor called them was a toilet clog. They said the "trap "was installed backwards ! They wanted to jackhammer the middle of the living room floor ! That was their conclusion after her spending $$ on a clogged toilet and her buying their warranty . Oh but the warranty wasnt going to cover THAT! They eventually talked her into getting power flush toilets no digging needed ! Run fast away from these incompetent people that have no godly idea of what they are doing ! She is probably going to have to sue them ! All she wanted was water filtration ! Call NOVA filters for that ! She didn't listen ! These people shouldn't have a business license. read more

I have had services from Frank Gay 3 times in the past year. The second service was to fix the first one's incompetence. Their business model seems to be less about fixing AC than subscribing people to their family plan. To their credit, they always seem to have techs available. Unfortunately they either hire crooks or encourage their techs to lie to get more services than needed. This latest visit we were told our refrigerant was out, indicating a leak, and our blower motor was shot and needed to be replaced. The tech quoted us $5000 for a new blower motor and $2300 to fill the refrigerant and find and fix the leak. He also suggested we get an entire new system for a minimum of $10,000 instead of repairing. Unfortunately for him, we are not going to spend that amount of money without a second opinion. We are currently enjoying our functional AC, repaired by another company for less than $800. The refrigerant was flat and there was a leak, caused by shoddy repairs where wires had worn through a tube due to friction. Guess which company did those repairs! The blower motor? That was a lie, it was fine. Never hire this company. read more
