Problem: Electrical Surge from Lightning. So on the evening of the 15th going into 2/16 we had high winds little to no rain, and 4 really close lightning strikes. Power went out on the 3rd strike. I already had a subscription via Del Air for my AC and Water Heater (plumbing), but needed an electrician for the hallway light fixture and surge protector outside. Light was doing this flickering like mad. Chandler Starr OE-06 came out. On time and professional. On a weekend no less. Detailed notes, code violations from my builder were found and he fixed, a under weight fan dome thing that was holding an 8.5 lb light fixture, to my breaker having a single tap vs double tap from sprinkler system the builder had put in brought to code, and replaced our Surge Protector outside for both ac fans, and breaker. Had to cut into ceiling drywall and they will be sending out a drywall guy to fix that. Chandler was patient, easy to talk too, professional, and made sure I understood everything before leaving, and the process of the drywall guy, and the follow up visit for the 2nd AC fan install. Now lets talk about Frank Gay in general here. Coming from someone whom was with Rinaldi for YEARS until my guy retired and this new kid started coming around and lack of doing maintenance was more about selling (literally tried to sell me 2 UV lights when I ALREADY have them installed), and telling me I needed duct work on a 2 year old home. Prior to moving here in Orlando Rinaldi was great. No qualms. Prior to my tech retiring I was all in. Then they raised their rates to being more expensive, less quality maintenance being performed, and more pushy on selling I went to Del Air. They are all over the place here. BUT Rinaldi had HUMANS answering their calls, AND they would come out on the WEEKENDS....for a fee which is reasonable. Well Del Air.....Prior to this year (2026) I would get a human being on the phone. Sometime near the end of 2025 and this year something changed. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Frank Gay Services. I contacted the company after a technician evaluated my HVAC system and determined that I needed a duct replacement. I scheduled the repair for July 7 and paid a $610 deposit. The day of the appointment, I spent hours trying to get updates. I contacted the technician with no response and called dispatch multiple times. I was repeatedly told someone was on the way, that the job had been reassigned, or that I would receive an update--but no technician arrived. A manager, Brandon, eventually contacted me and assured me the team would arrive by 2 p.m. When that did not happen, I was told the issue was due to the job being transferred between teams. Later, I was told the repair could not be completed because it was "too hot" and that a team would arrive the next morning at 7:40 a.m. The next morning, no one arrived. After additional calls, I was told the technicians were 20 minutes away, then later that they had a flat tire. I also requested a call from the General Manager, Cory, but despite multiple assurances, I never received one. The most concerning part was receiving an agreement from a customer experience representative stating that the repair would be completed for $800 in exchange for agreeing not to leave negative reviews or feedback. I requested a correction to my name on the agreement and intended to sign after that correction, but the promised service still never occurred. I understand that unexpected issues happen, but the repeated missed appointments, lack of communication, and failure to follow through on commitments resulted in two full days wasted waiting for service. We signed up for their yearly maintenance service back in April. Previously we had a leak from our AC that stained our ceiling. When we had them come out to look at our unit, they said everything looked great and worked properly, so we went ahead and got our ceiling repainted knowing that our AC unit wouldn't do that again. Two months later, our AC unit was leaking again. We called Frank Gay out to look at it and they said our Float Switch wasn't working and the wiring was done wrong. After paying a hefty fee, they couldn't explain why this wasn't caught two months prior when they came out. Later that evening our AC stopped working and we had to call them out again to look at it. That technician was confused why the wires were touched in the first place and he went back and forth with his manager about how they didn't know what they were doing. When bringing up the lack of attention given two months prior that lead to another ceiling leak, they didn't claim responsibility and said those maintenance checks are not preventative checks and they wouldn't know if there was an issue with anything until the issue arose. read more

Frank Gay Services has either partnered with or bought Integrity Solutions, a very inaptly named HVAC company, after I had been scammed by Integrity to replace a 5-yr old HVAC system for nearly $20,000. (I learned several months later after the new one was installed that Integrity told me many lies about the 5-yr old system, which had been backed up by another company I called for a 2nd opinion, who also tried to scam me.) The story got worse, but that's for another post. As part of the cost of the new HVAC system, I had two FREE "tune up" services for this new system, which had to be used within a year of purchase. So, 6 months later, I called Integrity to perform the first of the tune up services. This is when I discovered that Frank Gay Services had taken over Integrity Solutions. OK, whatever. I explained about having two FREE tune ups based on the purchase of a new HVAC system. Then things got really weird. The lady I was talking to asked which service I needed: electrical, plumbing, or AC. That confused me. Why electrical or plumbing? Again, I told her about an HVAC "tune up" based on the purchase agreement with Integrity. This woman got very snippy with me, and I nearly hung up on her. Anyway, after arguing with her about the two FREE "tune ups," she said she'd sent out a tech to do it. That tech turned out to be an electrician who knew nothing about HVACs! He said he was sent to check out the electricity system of my house! I told him, no, this is not what I needed and explained about needing the HVAC system "tuned up." So he left, and I called Frank Gay asking to send someone to check my HVAC! So, they sent someone to do the "tune up." This guy supposedly did that and said that my system was fine. That was Feb. 12, 2026. Fast forward to yesterday, July 2, 2026. I received an email notice from my Discover Card that Frank Gay has billed me $199! For what? I did not receive any kind of notice from Frank Gay before or after they billed me. In fact, I don't even have an account with this company nor any kind of contract. Without an account with them, I can't even log into an account to see what the heck is going on! Fortunately, the charge was denied by Discover because Frank Gay used the credit card number I used with Integrity to purchase the new HVAC system August 2025. That particular card expired, which is why the $199 charge was denied by Discover. Every dealing I've had with Frank Gay and Integrity and another HVAC company smelled of unethical practices. There was an incident about trying to get me to replace all of my duct work, which turned out to be a total scam -- even using photos of someone else's ducts to "prove" that mine were really bad (yes, I have absolute evidence of that). I don't know what's going on with HVAC companies, but three that I've dealt with so far have been a disaster. I'm a property manager in the Orlando area, sharing this so others can decide for themselves. Our AC stopped turning on late one evening, around 6 PM. We called Frank Gay because their sticker was on the unit. On the phone we were told there would be a $129 after-hours service fee, but that the actual repair pricing would be standard. The problem turned out to be a clogged condensate drain line. They quoted $360 just to clear it. For anyone unfamiliar with this repair: clearing a condensate drain line typically takes under five minutes and requires no specialized skill or tools beyond a wet/dry vacuum. With the $129 after-hours fee on top, the total came to over $500. That pricing is wildly disproportionate to the actual work involved. However, to repair/replace a leaking hose bib, and a section of piping in a stucco/CMU wall was $1700 and then to locate the meter box was an additional $1100. I was floored, but the leaking was costing 200 gallons per hour, so I couldn't wait another day. Again, it's quality work nothing against that. But the price tag was WAY OVER top. I wouldn't say you are unprofessional, but you failed to identify the real issue at the beginning without damaging the structure of the house. In the end, you opened three holes in the wall, only to tell me that the problem was not a plumbing leak but an air conditioning issue. We had already paid for the inspection and originally hoped your company could continue with the repair and also patch the holes. However, your quote was $100 per hole, and the air conditioning repair cost was as high as $2,800. This made us very uncomfortable. If we had chosen to proceed with your company, the total cost would have exceeded $3,300 -- far beyond what we expected for this service. In my opinion, your handling of the situation was not professional enough, and your pricing was unreasonably high. I have since hired another company that repaired the air conditioner for $1,800, replacing all parts with brand-new original components. That's a $1,000 difference compared to your quote. I have a right to my opinion and this company is only in it to make as much money as they can make from the average consumer. You want to do the right thing? I had a water leak that resulted in a repipe being done by Frank Gay Services. Lairoy and Carlton did such a great job. It inspired me to have Frank Gay handle the repairs in other areas of my home. A panel rejuvenation was done by Brendan. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the importance of the repairs. My safety felt like his priority. The Hvac system was replaced by Jeff and Achilles. They were both so respectful of my home. Exceptionally clean and diligent. The Drywall team - Tony and Melvin were the best! Their transparency made me so comfortable. They provided details before, during and after. Much appreciated. The managers and supervisors were also a delight. Mike(Plumbing) ensured I got everything the way I wanted and Lauren(Drywall) ensured everything was done, the way it was agreed upon. She was super awesome! Originally, we had a visit from Frank Gay Services, who tried to tell my wife we needed a completely new HVAC system--for a 6-year-old house--at a cost of $14,000. When I got home and started asking questions, suddenly that "replacement" turned into a $2,250 "warranty fix." That was all I needed to hear--I showed that clown the door. I then called Slobodnik Services, and the difference was night and day. The tech showed up, actually diagnosed the issue, and found that insulation was choking off the refrigeration component. He put some duct tape around it, added half a pound of refrigerant, and had everything running perfectly--for $200. That's it. No scare tactics. No upsell. Just honest, skilled work. It's incredibly hard to find honest tradespeople these days, especially in HVAC here in Florida, where it sometimes feels like everyone is trying to sell you a whole new system whether you need it or not. This experience was a breath of fresh air. Honestly, I couldn't wait to pay the guy. Updated review: Charged $775 for about an hour of work and roughly $75 in parts to rebuild a toilet tank and tighten a loose kitchen faucet. The faucet is only three years old and worked perfectly before their visit. Afterward, the cold-water line barely worked. A follow-up visit was scheduled under warranty, but the technician didn't arrive until 6 p.m. for a 2-6 p.m. window. It took 90 minutes to correct a kinked line caused during the original service. The second technician confirmed the line would only kink if the faucet had been spun, yet I showed him the faucet couldn't be moved--meaning it was done during the first visit. The follow-up was completed at no cost, but the whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. If this was the "discounted rate," I'd hate to see what premium customers pay. read more

He comes and 2 minutes after looking says the drain is clogged and that to unclog the drain is an additional $360 not including the after hours charge. My parents, who are primarily Spanish speakers, had a technician come to their home who was both unprofessional and incredibly rude. Despite the technician being fluent in Spanish, he intentionally refused to speak it, choosing instead to make the process as difficult as possible for my parents. To make matters worse, the technician fabricated stories about the service call that were completely untrue. When I contacted the company to address this lack of professionalism and the technician's behavior, they offered zero accountability. Edited 6/17: The company reached out and we have come to an agreement for resolution. We appreciate all of the amazing technicians that have come out to diagnose the system. They're excellent when they're selling you a system; however, after the install, they're horrific to deal with. They arrived at the house - mind you, this is a BRAND NEW SYSTEM that they JUST installed a few weeks prior - and said it was a fuse, even citing that it was an insect that might have caused the problem. So, they replaced the fuse (after arriving 2 hours late) and left within 20 minutes. The system died 10 minutes later. When we called again, we were told that there were no technicians available for the rest of the evening and that there were no other options available to us. The house is above 80 degrees, so now we had to incur the cost of an overnight stay at a hotel with our special needs son to be able to sleep. Now, they're running behind again on our service call for today. When I asked to speak to a manager about the situation, I was told they could put in a request for someone to call me within 24-48 hours. Honestly, this is a nightmare. Buyer beware. read more

I had Frank Gay replace a line set in October of 2024. In July of 2025, I noted that the system wasn't cooling and FG tech came out. The system had lost 18 pounds of R410a in 11 months. It shouldn't have lost any. They charged $1800 to recharge the system, stating it was a leaking shrader valve. I made the point that the shrader valave was likely loose as they'd left it that way. Of course, rather than take any responsability, I had to pay. R410a is $10/pound so thay charged 10 times the cost. Today, a tech came out and confirmed that it had again lost all the R410a. He stated the previous tech hadn't performed a leak check and I'd need to pay $475 for that service. I refused and he stomped off. To recap, the tech in July recharged a system without performing any leak check. They charged me $1800. They refused to even look at it unless I paid another $475 to have a leak check performed. They charged $1800 for refrigderant and fixed nothing. I borrowed a leak detector, took off the coil cover and found a leaking coil in 5 minutes. NEVER USE FRANK GAY. I believe this company uses predatory upselling tactics. I had my old AC unit for over 15 years and rarely had an issue. My new unit was installed almost 2 years ago and I've had to have Frank Gay services come out several times. It has stopped working 3 times since mid June. The techs do the exact same thing each time they come out, clear the condensate line, without investigating what is causing the underlying issue. Because this is a recurring problem, I cannot make a service appointment. Rather, I have to wait for a tech to call me back, which may take 24 hours. I'm extremely frustrated with this company and their work. I just paid off this $10k unit and have had persistent problems. In retrospect I wish I had never opted to replace the old unit, but the tech was aggressively convincing about the waning longevity of my old unit and the benefits or replacing it. It was found that the plumber who originally had come to fix our leak had not soldered the pipe properly. They sent him back to fix his shoddy work. We now have mold, for which, we were told, they would take "responsibility," but we've now been "ghosted!" Obviously they are highly schooled in aggressive selling, to the point of lying about the quality of product we already have at home in order to get us to buy something new from them. They sell a membership which touts someone will come around and look at your plumbing/ electric/ A/C. But this is only their in, to be at your property and tell you how bad what you have is, and how bad you need to buy what they are selling. This might include put-downs, sarcastic remarks or outright lies. for the whole year of having that "membership" i was bothered by texts asking when the person can come look at my whatever. Then I was billed automatically for a renewal of the "membership" but successfully got that money back. When they start lying to make a sale, I start going to reputable local providers. read more

I paid the service charge plus an extra amount for after hours service because this service is for my elderly parents. My eighty year old father is a veteran diagnosed with Agent Orange so no ac affects his health. The service tech was nice but when he told me that he did NOT have the fan motor and would order it on Tuesday at a cost of $2700.00 I lost my cool !!! After seven hours of waiting for an easy repair, and after being assured the service tech had the specific fan motor I requested on his truck, then being told that he could order the very part ($265) three days later at a greatly inflated price, and knowing how this will affect my parents I would rate Frank Gay Services a MINUS SIX . read more

Well after reading all of these awful reviews I've learned that I am not the only person who found what they told me to be insane. breaker box had a slight buzzing noise, tech came out, looked through the box and told me that I either needed to replace the entire box or get a panel rejuvenation. thinking that there could actually be a problem I agreed to look into the rejuvenation. also asked to have a line ran so I can run the house with my generator. which most other companies charge between 300-500 dollars for. Frank Gays going rate for putting in a circuit breaker and running 3 FT of line from the box was 2,000 dollars. the final quote for a rejuvenation (which is basically dusting some things off and tightening some screws) and the generator line came to 6,000 dollars. by the way, the other electricians called a rejuvenation a scam and frank gay charges 4,000 dollars for the service. I immediately contacted two other companies and found that my box is fine, one breaker needed to be replaced and that they were charging me about 5,000 dollars over the actual cost of what actually needed to be fixed. needless to say I cancelled them and went with another company. for anyone looking to do business with these guys, stay away unless you like to pay quadruple over the going rate. tech was a nice guy, but it's clear this company does nothing but rob people of their money. I feel bad for people who don't know any better and think that their pricing is normal. Again STAY AWAY......unless you like throwing your hard earned money out the window. read more
