This is a very small family owned restaurant. They have been around for many years and are very popular. I went today at lunch and ordered the 10" cheese pizza with sausage and roasted garlic. It was delicious. The sausage had a wonderful flavor and was not too spicy. I also ordered some cheese garlic bread, which was also tasty, not too crunchy. The crust on the pizza was a thin crust, almost like a cracker. I do prefer a thicker crust, but this was lovely. The waitress was very busy, as the restaurant was full of people and she was also doing the cashiering. She told me they were told they need to be out of the building by 5/15, from the new owner. She was extremely sad, as they have been around for, I believe, at least 30 years and were not given any notice that the building had sold You need to go in there to have a delicious meal, prior to them closing. They offer pizza, sandwiches, salads and burgers. In addition? They open at 11:30, close at 2 and reopen at 4, for the dinner crowd. read more

The garlic bread with cheese was delicious, and my boyfriend loved his Italian sandwich. My burger was overcooked and kind of hard and a little bit burnt. Definitely wouldn't order that again. My boyfriend picked the food up and said the place was cute and the woman who helped him was extremely friendly. This is a very long time Englewood Gem. Many generations of Englewood families have frequented this restaurant in all of its 64 years. This building was originally built to be a home. It's like going over to a grandparents home and they make the best pizza in the states. (Or so I've found so far) The employees are all so welcoming and thoughtful as well as the Krascek family who you'll catch there often to serve Englewood some amazing pizza and socializing. I'm 5th generation Englewood resident. My family has gone to Franks since it's been open in 1961. With recent news, The building was sold and the family who runs this business has a GoFundMe (check out "frank the pizza king" on Facebook and instagram.) I grew up not far away, but haven't eaten here in 30 years. Was nearby for work and thought I'd give lunch a try. Arrived just after 11 on a Saturday and the place was already filling up. Being a work lunch, I tried to order several times but was barked at to sit down and wait. Ordered the lunch special, which consists of a fountain soda from a machine that tastes like it needs maintenance, a small salad straight from a Sysco bag, and an hour long wait for a tiny sub-Totino's quality pizza. They have a big oven back in the kitchen I can see. But the crust looks pressed in a mold; it's super dry and just gross, like a really thick saltine cracker. There's not a frozen pizza made that couldn't surpass this. The scanty sauce is oddly sweet, so sugar added. I got their "homemade" sausage, so I couldn't tell if the dry oregano that kept punching me in the mouth was in the sauce, the sausage, or both. Either way, no. Screw Dave Portnoy, but he'd give this 2 stars at best. I'm calling it the worst restaurant pizza I can remember. (I overheard someone saying something about their closing, and just read that in another review, so sorry for kicking them while they're down, but this pizza doesn't deserve to exist.) read more

This place came strongly recommended by the Service Manager at AutoTrek. It was a fantastic recommendation. Wonderful experience here with Ellen, she made us feel welcome and made sure we were well taken care of. My co-workers and I had a delicious lunch. The pizza crust, sausage, sauce and ranch are homemade, and you can tell! The crust is almost New York style; very sturdy and with a mild flavor. The toppings (I had Frank's Special) were very tasty, and the coke + cherry syrup is hand mixed and absolutely delectable. The place is cozy, little older, and it's got "hole-in-the-wall" vibes, but that's perfectly acceptable for a quick, tasty lunch or dinner, honestly. What a wonderful place!!! I've lived in Denver since we moved here from Manitou in 1975 and I'm embarrassed to admit that this was my first visit to this amazing Denver gem. This is a straight forward pizza parlor that I grew up with, the pizza is classically done to perfection. I had the Combination pie, and it was everything I wanted. The homemade sausage was perfect, not to sweet not too spicy, amazing flavor. The sauce is also great, perfect mix of salt and sweet of tomatoes. Crust was crispy and very flavorful. The service and staff are equally awesome. So friendly and engaging, and just nice folks. We will be returning to this spot again and can't recommend it enough. Awesome place for Pizza - perhaps the best place for pizza in South Denver. I love and swear by Ricos. However, I do not get pizza from Ricos. So, Frank is indeed the "Pizza King" as far as I am concerned and my family agrees! As well as the majority of people who have lived in Colorado for at least ten years. Being a Native, I have tried pizza from essentially everywhere in the State, and the ONLY pizza location that may give Frank a run for its money is Big Bills, but they are so far apart from each other that you must make the decision based on where you are located and ordering at the time. read more

After living in Denver area for decades and driving past this establishment countless times, I finally made it a point to stop here for dinner. I wish I had made the trip long before now. The restaurant was crazy busy because of the annual Englewood Cruise, which the restaurant helped sponsor. But that didn't stop the servers from being very friendly and attentive. Our party ordered wings with Frank's hot sauce, and a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. Our photos give you just an idea since we dove into the food as soon as it arrived. The wings were meaty and cooked perfectly, and the homemade ranch dressing did not disappoint. The pizza was in a thin, cracker-like crust which was okay. But the tomato sauce was phenomenal and the toppings were fresh and high quality. I love a pizza where the cheese has melted and browned and that's what you will find here. All in all, the pizza was delicious and one I will come back to eat again. We found the restaurant itself to be cozy and loved the family-run vibe. The menu was amazing as well lots of great items. When I was there I grabbed a 10inch along with some pizza fries I shared with my friend. And all I can say was the pizza fries was an amazing item for the menu! It was beyond cheesy with so much flavor. And the pizza I got was very cheesy with great flavors. I came here with my wife on a trip to the town I grew up in, Frank's was the place we all went to when I was in High School, and I wanted to take my wife there, hoping it was as good as it was back in the 80's, what a mistake!! I seriously think the place hasn't changed at all in the last 40 years, and I don't mean that I a good way. It felt old and run down, and we felt like the staff was standing behind the counter just watching and waiting to see how we reacted. The very first clue was when we asked for some water, the young waitress told us that the water smelled, we should have stood up and walked out right then!! Then the pizza we ordered came out, and it was NOT good at all!! The crust was cardboard, more like a saltine cracker, without any salt, hardly any cheese or sauce, and sparse toppings. I totally agree that it was similar to a frozen pizza, but unfortunately I would have rather picked up a frozen pizza and eaten it cold. Just moved to this neck of the woods a couple years ago and was looking for a really good thin crust pizza spot and Frank's does not disappoint! They're a family run business and their customer service is so so good and their food is even better! We were waiting for our takeout order and the lady at the front gave us a free soda while we were waiting and then also gifted us a cool duck! It's definitely a small little mom and pop place, they have a jukebox (with a surprisingly massive variety) and a Galaga arcade cabinet for while you wait which wasn't long at all! I hate writing this review. This restaurant has THE BEST customer service, a juke box, clean tables, cool atmosphere, and an arcade Galaga to play while you wait. It has the potential to be the coolest pizza joint in town. However... The pizza is not good. First, they use dried basil (from a shaker). Second, you have to ASK for tomatoes to be added to your Margherita pizza. Third, the ingredients do not taste fresh. The crust is lacking salt and the cheese is so overly processed that you hardly taste it. I was so hoping to love Frank The Pizza King. I'm sad to have been disappointed. I've driven past this place over the course of the 20 years I've lived in the Littleton area, and have always wanted to try this place. Walking in the front door, it's like walking into a time warp, a blast from the past, very nostalgic feeling, and yet still a very welcoming feel. There are maybe 10-15 tables in the restaurant. Very tiny but very homey feeling. Instant greeting from the entire staff. The reason for this visit was an entertainment book coupon and the sheer fact that this has been a near "bucket list" type of visit. We ordered garlic bread with cheese as an app, and a 14" pizza. The garlic bread was delicious, but the pizza was....ehhhh. to be a king of something, a pizza king, I expected so so so so much more. My wife used the words "bland and mediocre". I want to use the words "frozen pizza". I've read a few reviews that said frozen pizza feel, and I thought no way. It tasted literally like a tombstone pizza. I am so disappointed. The crust tried to replicate a thin crust feel, but came off with every bite as if it was made it my oven. 2 stars for the great feel and vibe of the restaurant, and the employees are incredibly friendly. But minus 3 stars for the pizza.
