Pepperoni, black olive & Bacon pizza! Always best ordered with their cherry coke!

This is a very long time Englewood Gem. Many generations of Englewood families have frequented this restaurant in all of its 64 years. This building was originally built to be a home. It's like going over to a grandparents home and they make the best pizza in the states. (Or so I've found so far) The employees are all so welcoming and thoughtful as well as the Krascek family who you'll catch there often to serve Englewood some amazing pizza and socializing. I'm 5th generation Englewood resident. My family has gone to Franks since it's been open in 1961. With recent news, The building was sold and the family who runs this business has a GoFundMe (check out "frank the pizza king" on Facebook and instagram.) We aren't sure they can keep the current location... but let's help this amazing family continue to serve us some of their own family made pizza!

This place came strongly recommended by the Service Manager at AutoTrek. It was a fantastic recommendation. Wonderful experience here with Ellen, she made us feel welcome and made sure we were well taken care of. My co-workers and I had a delicious lunch. The pizza crust, sausage, sauce and ranch are homemade, and you can tell! The crust is almost New York style; very sturdy and with a mild flavor. The toppings (I had Frank's Special) were very tasty, and the coke + cherry syrup is hand mixed and absolutely delectable. The place is cozy, little older, and it's got "hole-in-the-wall" vibes, but that's perfectly acceptable for a quick, tasty lunch or dinner, honestly. We'll definitely be coming back here to enjoy another meal. Thanks again, Ellen!

Excellent service! The place is clean. We ordered garlic bread and Frank's special pizza. Garlic bread with cheese on the top, bake to the perfection. so good!! The pizza is on thin crust, very tasty. I would be back!

Awesome place for Pizza - perhaps the best place for pizza in South Denver. I love and swear by Ricos. However, I do not get pizza from Ricos. So, Frank is indeed the "Pizza King" as far as I am concerned and my family agrees! As well as the majority of people who have lived in Colorado for at least ten years. Being a Native, I have tried pizza from essentially everywhere in the State, and the ONLY pizza location that may give Frank a run for its money is Big Bills, but they are so far apart from each other that you must make the decision based on where you are located and ordering at the time.

Chicken wings in Frank's hot sauce. The plate had a few more wings and a side of celery.

After living in Denver area for decades and driving past this establishment countless times, I finally made it a point to stop here for dinner. I wish I had made the trip long before now. The restaurant was crazy busy because of the annual Englewood Cruise, which the restaurant helped sponsor. But that didn't stop the servers from being very friendly and attentive. Our party ordered wings with Frank's hot sauce, and a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. Our photos give you just an idea since we dove into the food as soon as it arrived. The wings were meaty and cooked perfectly, and the homemade ranch dressing did not disappoint. The pizza was in a thin, cracker-like crust which was okay. But the tomato sauce was phenomenal and the toppings were fresh and high quality. I love a pizza where the cheese has melted and browned and that's what you will find here. All in all, the pizza was delicious and one I will come back to eat again. We found the restaurant itself to be cozy and loved the family-run vibe. Thanks for making our visit so worthwhile.

Frank pizza king is An amazing establishment with excellent service. Walked in with an amazing greeting from the owner. She treated my friends and I like we were part of family. The menu was amazing as well lots of great items. When I was there I grabbed a 10inch along with some pizza fries I shared with my friend. And all I can say was the pizza fries was an amazing item for the menu! It was beyond cheesy with so much flavor. And the pizza I got was very cheesy with great flavors. I will most definitely tell all friends about this spot. They also offered a parking lot so parking is easy.

The standout for me was Mama's Cinnamon Dessert Pizza. Warm, sweet, and topped with cream cheese frosting, it's easily something I would go back for on its own. They also have craft beer, a fun atmosphere, and even a dance floor, which adds to the overall experience. It's a great spot that combines good food with a meaningful mission.

I have found Colore to be one of the top Italian restaurants in Denver. I have been visiting…read moreColore since my son was performing in band and orchestra concerts at DU, about 10-15 years now. It is not near my home, so I look for reasons to visit. My latest no-brainer excuse is to indulge in a nice meal prior to concerts from at Swallow Hill Music Center, located across the street from Colore. Last night was one of these nights. Quite the date night for me and my husband--a full meal at Colore and a Face Vocal Band concert at Swallow Hill! Colore has all the traditional American-Italian favorites, including lasagne and other creative pasta dishes (is the pasta homemade? I'm not sure, but it's yum!), chicken parm/picatta/marsala/saltimbocca, steak, fish, it is all very high quality and creative cooking. Pizza and calzones are also available. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Don't forget to glance at the cocktail menu, where they've tailored cocktails to include amaro, Campari, aperol, and limoncello to delicious result. Try the Italian Greyhound with Boulder Spirits gin and aperol, the Black Manhattan with Stranahan's whiskey and amaro, or the Italian margarita with Campari. And the wine list is reasonable, too, with a few high end Italian choices by the bottle, and many options by the glass to keep your budget down for the evening. And sangria? Yes, please! The desserts all have a nice Italian twist, as well. Cannoli, Tiramisu, gelato, and other indulgences. My FAVORITE THING? The garlic knots that come out with every meal, along with olive oil and balsamic for dipping. These are just heavenly, yeasty, soft, unforgettable. There is also always a special or two which we have found to be perhaps the most exciting and delicious on the menu. Last night, my husband ordered the salmon special. This piece of wonderful salmon was stuffed with lump blue crab and spinach, and had a white sauce with fennel and I forget what else, which was simply heaven. It was placed on a dollop of polenta. He ate every last bite. I opted for the vegetable lasagne, which didn't disappoint. A three-inch cube of lasagne, covered in their homemade marinara, with all the veggies--spinach, broccoli, artichoke, mushroom, zucchini. And of course, the requisite ricotta and mozzarella/parm layers. When we were sufficiently stuffed, we decided to share a dessert. Given the nice spring weather, we were drawn to the carrot cake with pineapple, walnuts, and berries, and a scoop of pistachio gelato. This carrot cake was a little two-layer individual round tower; they layer filled with pineapple sweetness and topped with a walnut cream. Strawberries and whip on the side made it feel healthy (lol). The pistachio gelato was the perfect accompaniment (we always need ice cream, right?), with little crunchy pistachios mixed in, as one would hope it would have. Our server was bubbly, very nice, and efficient. It was a great meal. I should also mention that they have takeout. How great would that be to have in your neighborhood? I noticed when I went online to make reservations, that Colore has just opened a Littleton location. I would like to submit a request--next location opening--Downtown Golden! That's my town, and I would love to have Colore take-out every week. And date night even more often. If no luck with getting a location in Golden, I will continue to keep my eye out for Face Vocal Band concerts at Swallow Hill, so that I have a great excuse to make my way down to South Broadway for a wonderful meal at Colore.

The inside of the restaurant had a mid-century modern feel that reminded me of my childhood home. After sitting down and reviewing the menu, my friends decided on the frozen rosé, while I stuck with a Coke since I was driving. The soda hit the spot, but my friends found the frozen rosé a bit bitter and weren't fans. For starters, we highly recommend the garlic bread and pepperoni rolls. The sauces served with them tasted fresh and were packed with flavor. After appetizers, we ordered three pizzas and a Caesar salad. The restaurant got busier after we sat down, and our food took a little over 30 minutes to arrive. When the pizzas finally came out, they were absolutely worth the wait. They were visually appealing, and we couldn't wait to dive in. I ordered the veggie pizza, and it was so good. Our friends got the White Tiger pizza and added prosciutto, while my husband ordered the mushroom pizza with added sausage. It took us a few years to finally try Joy, but I can confidently say they make an awesome pizza in a relaxed, chill atmosphere.

There were 2 parties ahead of us when we walked in, and we didn't even talk to the host for about 15 mins. I had time to go down to the bathroom, take a call, and come back, and my fiance was still waiting, and nobody had even acknowledged him or said it'll be just a minute or anything. The restaurant was freezing cold inside, unbearably cold, so we asked to sit outside and were told there was a wait, fine not a huge deal. Except for the wait again at the host stand after we got our text, it took forever to get seated. We got the text, went back, and 2 parties ahead of us who were just walking in and weren't on the list or anything were seated outside, and finally they got to us. The host had absolutely no sense of urgency or hospitality, she was just leisurely walking around and took forever to come back after seating someone. Honestly super frustrating. I'd be less frustrated if we had gotten a "hi, I'll be with you in just a second", or even any sort of acknowledgment, but no such luck. We felt like an annoyance being there. The patio is gorgeous, such a nice spot, but it is insanely loud. I don't know what it is about it but the noise is so amplified we could barely hear other talk. And there were quite a few open tables so it wasn't packed or anything. Service was good, our waiter was on top of it and quick, but the food was fairly mediocre. We ordered the stracciatella and sourdough and it came with 6 of the absolute tiniest spears of sourdough I've ever seen...for $16. We finished it in about a minute. The pizza was good but nothing to write home about, I expected a bit of a bigger pizza for the price just based on other places we've been to in town. Good but really nothing special. Neither of us ordered a drink but we saw them walking out with cocktails and they had to be some of the smallest cocktails I've ever seen. Overall I feel like this place is pretty overpriced for what you get, and the service at the host stand kind of ruined the experience off the bat for us. We've had much better dinners for less lately, so unfortunately this just didn't do it for us.
