Best Alfredo I've ever had! Service was solid for a large party. Cheese bread wasn't my favorite. Very hard to cut & dry without the cheese.

Everything at Frankie Bones was amazing! Our servers were friendly and attentive. The portions were huge (even the kids meal!), and the food was delicious. We ordered a few appetizers, and our favorite was the toasted ravioli. I LOVED the prime rib. I got the 16oz so I'd have leftovers, and it even reheated beautifully. Incredibly tender and flavorful at the restaurant and the next day. We planned on getting ice cream for dessert around the corner, but Frankie Bones' dessert menu was too good to pass up. Back again for our annual HHI vacay and it remains 4 stars for me. We started with cocktails and appetizers. Calamari was the fam favorite (not my thing). I had the Fried Green Tomatoes (special) and Fried Mozzarella, which were both good. For cocktails, I had Fly me to the moon Manhattan (ok) and my husband had the Margarita (good). As noted by another Yelper, the Manhattan garnished with a cheap maraschino cherry (boo). For dinner, I had the New York Strip and it was cooked to perfection, juicy and one of maybe the best I've ever had - 5 stars. Our experience here was very good! Our 9-top was in a private room. We got lots of food: schnitzel, filet, bacon wrapped shrimp, fried ravioli, and the new york strip steak and shrimp. Very yum! Definitely would recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp and schnitzel! The bread was also very good, warm, fresh, and the garlic butter to go with it topped it off. Third time- we always make this our last dinner on HHI. Everything was wonderful! Reserved on line. Got the time we wanted. Started with chilled beets, calamari and salads. I love the dressing on their caeser. I had the seafood spaghettini- delicious, very flavorful. Hubby had ny strip, kids chicken alfredo and sausage pasta. Sabrina was super sweet. Some 60 years ago my Dear Wife and I discovered Fresh CLAMS in marinara as a staple at several hole in the wall Outer Banks restaurants; later we found excellent Fresh CLAMS in marinara in the Florida Keys. Georgie's Restaurant in Newport Oregon offers a great plate as well. DiMillo's On the Water in Portland Maine deserves a shoutout. Fresh CLAMS are a must for us!!!! Frankie Bones is a MUST for us - Upscale, deep dark leather. Today is St. Patrick's Day and Frankie Bones offers a special one-page Irish menu, and this menu is worth consideration.... It's been awhile since I've been here but the early bird meal was just as good as in the past. Hostesses were welcoming and Jess our server was excellent. Phil the manager stopped by and he was very attentive. I had the pork schnitzel and it was very large and cooked perfectly. Calamari appetizer was very good. My friends ordered the Mediterranean seafood pasta and loved it. And my other friend loved her chicken Marsala. Served with a really nice house salad and hot bread with two different kinds of butter. Met a friend there for lunch. I arrived early and was given a nice booth, A manager stopped to see if I'd been attended to as yet, I said yes. Then my friend arrived shortly after, and we placed our order with a sweet waitress. Food came very quickly, was hot and wonderful. Couldn't eat it all, so a to-go box let me take my unfinished portion (which was generous) home for another enjoying meal. My only criticism was an older woman with stringy dark curls who came up to the front desk and asked a few times if I had a reservation, I said no both times. she was quite severe and even seemed a bit rude. We have been visiting Frankie bones for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Unfortunately on this visit I was not feeling that well so ordered chicken noodle soup and a fresh beet salad, not the things I would typically order. Fortunately, the two old fashioned drinks lifted my spirits. Tommy was our server and he took good care of the six of us, three petite fillets and one order of their great meatballs and spaghetti. I'd actually rate this place a 3.5. This is likely one of those places where just a few items on the menu are stellar and the rest is meh. So you have to visit several times to find the items worth repeating. The menu has a little bit of everything. Pastas, meatloaf, ribeye, weinerschnitzle, fish and lots more. We started off with the beer cheese soup with rye croutons. It was their soup of the day and if they happen to have it, DEFINITELY get this ! It was excellent. I got the Cesar salad and it was just ok. Not nearly enough dressing on it. The dressing is made in house and was good, what little there was of it. Hubby got the veal parmesean. We both agreed it was very good ! The spaghetti with marinara on the side had a fantastic flavor. The veal was thick and coated in cheese. If they could make the breading just a bit more crispy, it would rival the best restaurants. I ordered the seafood frutti del mar without calamari in it. Just before it was scheduled to come out, the waitress said they changed the menu and they could no longer take out the calamari, so she asked if I wanted to order something else. Their shrimp is local, so I was really looking forward to a shrimp and pasta dish. (besides fettuccine alfredo). She said I could make my own dish, so we decided to get the blackened shrimp with pasta, tomato cream sauce, bacon, and mushrooms. When it was delivered by a guy from the kitchen, it was a POOL of sauce the thin pasta was swimming in. There was not a single shrimp to be found. It took a while to find someone to ask, um where is the shrimp ??? The waitress went back to the kitchen and brought back a small bowl of cooked shrimp. The pasta was still swimming and I wish I had a colander to drain some of it off. The thin pasta basically turned to mush in the pool of liquid. You would think the cook would know better than to add so much, but ... I then asked the waitress for some red chili flakes for my pasta. She forgot. I was 3/4 of the way finished with my meal before she checked on us again and when I reminded her again, she asked if I still wanted it. Then at the end of the meal she asked if I would like a bag for my box of leftovers. I said yes, and she never came back. Haha, ok. We got a chianti with dinner and it was very good. For dessert we got a warm piece of butterfinger cake and ice cream. Definitely get this !!! It was fabulous! My husband and I were almost fighting over the last spoonful. This dessert is made in house. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Nice black and white sketches on the wall, neon lights, and comfy booths. The watered down martinis was the first sign (espresso and a three olive martini witch arrived with two) then the fish was tasteless, the only thing that was great was the mushroom appetizer and our server was fine. We had a group of 12 people for a friend's birthday for dinner. Everybody at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. He worked very hard to make sure ourour dining experience was good. We picked Frankie Bones for lunch because the menu was so big and had a little bit of everything. Salads, pizza, burgers, fried foods, seafood, Italian dishes, etc. I went in excited to try the cannelloni and was not disappointed. My only comment was it seemed a little under-salted but nothing a little table salt couldn't fix. My kids really loved how big the fried mozzarella pieces were and the crazy cheese pull they got. Everyone was happy with their meals and the service was really attentive and pleasant. My son is a sucker for a novelty cup so he was really excited that he could get their light up cup (for extra $ obviously) with just the lemonade. I used a map app to locate a restaurant near the house where four of us were staying. Then I used Yelp to look at their listing, the photos of the interior and their entrees. Then I looked over their menu via the Yelp app and decided to give them a try. They had a four star rating from 742 reviews. I called to see if I needed a reservation and I did. It was 5:15 pm and they said they were very busy but if I could get there for 5:30 they could squeeze us in. We were three minutes late and they seated us. As we walked through the dining areas, I saw every table full of people in groups of 4 - 6 or larger. Big band music was playing via the ceiling speakers. Each booth was covered in button tucked brown leather and could seat six comfortably. Service was quick and attentive. We decided to skip the appetizers and order our drinks and entrees. I ordered bottled water and received Saratoga Still. We ordered the Caesar salad and added the Grilled Chicken, two orders of Fettuccine Alfredo and I ordered for myself the Petite Filet Mignon, and added the Grilled Local Shrimp. I substituted the Rice Pilaf for the Whipped Potatoes. The rice was very tasty in a butter sauce. The petite filet was only 4 oz and the right size for me since I had two sides and French Bread. It was cooked exactly how I ordered it and came with a steak sauce. The grilled shrimp were cooked perfectly and delicious. Everyone else ate at least half of their oversized portions and all of them brought their leftovers home. For dessert my granddaughter ordered the Tiramisu and her friend ordered Vanilla Ice Cream. I ordered the Butterfinger Crunch Cake which came with vanilla ice cream. We all thoroughly enjoyed our desserts. The Butterfinger Crunch Cake was unique. I had never tasted anything quite like it. It was very good. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Two spots I passed on would have been very difficult to fit my minivan into. As I was turning around to try again, I got lucky when another van was leaving and gifted me their parking space. read more

We visited here after (living about 40 minutes away) three years of 'thinking about it!' Big mistake in not acting far sooner. First, it's comfortable, convenient (to find parking), accommodating (from entry till departure. In short we had a great experience, and will do so again and again! (Note to self: Do Not Wait So Long to Eat at Frankie Bones Bluffton!) First, it was my wife's birthday and I alerted them in advance--as they said they'd not that on the reservation. Second....perhaps best of all: One of the few truly fine 'Early Dinner specials' Places around! Thirdly: it is exceptionally fine dining, at exceptionally fine prices, served (in our case) by a young server who was knowledgeable, gracious, educated and a trusted advisor on the menu! We had a great dinner salad which was big enough to split. We both enjoyed the prime rib special early diner portion (big enough to have each of us to carry ample amounts home for a lunch the following day). As a Birthday surprise my wife got presented with a dessert sampler which was greatly enjoyed! AND will be repeated on our next visit! Sauce is weird. Tastes like tomato soup. The margherita pizza while said it had fresh mozzarella (as any margherita should) did not in fact have fresh mozzarella but just regular sliced. Kind of awful to imply it's fresh but it's not. The cannelloni were disgusting, just mushy inside and kind of like a cat food consistency. The atmosphere is great. The food not so much. read more
