This place has wonderful booths and music of the Godfather playing in the background. Lol. Their house bread and garlic butter is absolutely amazing !!! They offer housemade pasta (everything except the short pastas like ziti, rigatoni, penne, etc. are NOT made in-house). They will let you substitute for house-made pasta though ! I got the Penne Friulana but substituted with linguine ($27). It was sausage and local shrimp pasta with a spicy marinara sauce. The sausage was high quality and very spicy. Shrimp were perfect. I ordered the lobster bisque ($11) but asked to skip the pastry dough on top. Apparently that affected the temperature, because the soup was luke warm. I suggest getting it as-is listed on the menu. Hubby got the Ziti al Forno ($25). It was prosciutto ham and peas, ziti, covered with bechemel sauce and cheese. It was meh. We got the creme brule and it was decent. Our waitress was wonderful. She checked on us frequently. She was a sweetheart and brought us free tiramisu to go since the soup was not hot. The tiramisu was delicious ! Such outstanding service. The best carpaccio we have ever had, the best pasta we have ever had, and the best desserts we have ever had, and we have been to Italy twice!! Karina was so friendly and helpful with excellent recommendations, and all the servers were friendly and prompt. We even had the opportunity to speak with the chef after the meal, and we told him how this was the greatest Italian food we had ever had! A gorgeous place with insuperably ambrosial food! Amazing! My second time here--server Karina was an absolute hoot! Honestly, this place should be jammed and I'm reluctant to sing its praises for fear it'll become crowded and hard to get into! I was excited to try Piatti after seeing pretty good reviews. We finally got around to trying it out this week. I am not sure if we just caught them on a bad night, but overall the food was "meh". We arrived around 6 and were seated immediately. We started with a bottle of wine and they brought bread and garlic butter. The bread was nice and crusty and garlic butter was very good. I ordered the pear & gargonzola salad, which is normally one of my favorites. Unfortunately the baby mixed greens were not very fresh, when I was about halfway through I noticed browned leaves on my plate, which was not very appealing. Hubby ordered a ceaser salad and his lettuce looked much fresher and more appetizing than my salad. My next disappointment was when I wanted to order the Rotola di Spinaci. Our server said it was not avaliable. :-( I was in the mood for something with red sauce and there really weren't many options that sounded appealing to me since I dont eat beef or pork. The only other option I saw was eggplant parm, so I ordered that. Unfortunately the eggplant parm fell short for me. The eggplant was bland and tasted unseasoned. The homemade marinara was a little disappointing as well in that it wasn't a rich flavorful sauce. I would definitely not order this dish again here. My hubby ordered one of the specials - some sort of chicken with broccoli & green beans and pasta with a creamy white sauce. Hubs was pleased with his meal. Overall, the service was good, but not outstanding. I told my hubby after we finished that they probably just don't specialize in southern Italian dishes (with red sauce) because so many of the menu options were creamy or cheesy or butter/white wine sauce. First time at this restaurant. Easy parking. They are hidden in a corner of Park Plaza-you don't know where it is. Large inside with many tables spaced out with no noise. Menu is large with many different items to select. We had a special scallop wrapped in bacon with risotto with corn & crab--good but not hot. Number of veal dishes: veal Marsala with sides good but not hot. Our friends had good meals but not hot. Prices reasonable. They need to improve on serving meals not hot enough! Service was good. From apps to main dishes to desserts, everything was delicious. The fact that they make just about everything in house makes it really hard to decide what to order, but I don't think there's a wrong choice. The reviews were solid, so we thought we would give this restaurant a try. Honestly, I regret coming here and consider it a poor experience overall. On the positive side, the bread was quite good, my wife enjoyed her house salad, and my rigatoni dish was tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. I ordered the beet and arugula salad "special," which turned out to be a pile of tasteless arugula with sliced canned beets, all smothered in a thick balsamic dressing. It was pretty awful. My wife had the Ligurian-style pesto dish, which was thick, gooey, and practically inedible. My son ordered meatballs and spaghetti, but the tomato sauce was overly sweet and honestly tasted like cheap supermarket sauce, and the meatballs were overly breaded. Everything we ate was ON POINT. This is a fantastic Italian restaurant ---we are considering eating here again before we leave at the end of the week. Yes, it was THAT good. The complimentary bread and GARLIC butter was outstanding and fresh out of the oven. The puff pastry lobster bisque was divine -- 4 of us ordered it! But honestly, EVERYTHING was divine and their desserts were also of top quality--very decadent. I even got served a birthday tiramisu. The foods tasted just like the pictures look! Hands down the BEST Italian food on the island. Wish I had taken some pictures. The pasta is made in house as are the desserts. The veal dishes are amazing and so tender with a delicious side of crisp tender vegetables and the house made pasts. We have been looking for a really good Italian restaurant after trying quite a few and this one is by far the best! It's tucked away in a strip mall but charming with a Mediterranean motif inside and plenty of parking. Service was wonderful and the prices are reasonable. The tiramisu was to die for. Appetizers included Cesar salad and lobster bisque topped with a light pastry. For dinner we enjoyed several selection including baked salmon, shrimp linguine and chicken with pesto pasta. We had a great experience at Piatti. The homemade pasta is definitely the star of any meal, so highly recommend. Our server was one of the chef's and was therefore very knowledgeable of the menu. While they do not have a kids menu, they are very accommodating and welcoming to kids (my kids loved it!), and could really prepare most anything. Every plate at the table was clean. The food was amazing. The service was excellent. If you don't make the time to come to this place for dinner you are doing yourself a disservice. The sous chef (Bryan) was our server as he wanted to get feedback for the dishes and he was excellent. The Ravioli Di Aragosta is an award winning dish. The sous chef won first place for it when he was 17. We got the trio dessert platter for dessert as well. Amazing. It came with tiramisu, bananas foster cheesecake, and molten lava cake. Had a craving for Italian food and decided to try Piatti for the first time. The atmosphere and service were excellent. My wife had Polpette di Carne and I had the Amatriciana Strozzapretti. We thought the Polpette was really very good but the Strozzapretti was absolutely delicious. I also had the Beet salad that was a special that evening, it was wonderful. The food was some of the best Italian food we have ever experienced in Italy or at home in the U.S. and we therefore highly recommend Piatti. read more

one of THE BEST restaurants on the island.....if traditional italian fare is your thing, you're gonna love it here. all pastas are homemade, apps, salads, entrees are all traditional style with a unique modern spin. SERVICE IS A-1!!! our server, KSENIIA (name on receipt), was exceptional. she coursed our way though our dinner, without a rush, without piling up plates on the table (one of my pet peeves is when servers dumps off your entree when you're still eating your salad, or salad when you're eating your appetizer) she paced everything out perfectly!!! we enjoyed a couple rounds of cocktails then had a couple glasses of wine as we ate. apps were great; calamari & beef carpaccio. calamari was hand "breaded" without all that gummy flour coating that many restaurants serve. carpaccio was paper thin and deliciously dressed simply with just evoo & a bit of lime. our salad was SOOO good, a twist on a caprese salad. this salad was served warm, allowing the fresh mozzarella to melt slightly over the tomato slices then topping with pesto & anchovies. i had the ricotta ravioli with peas & proscuitto in a tomato cream. my only complaint would be that the peas tasted like "cow peas", kind of mealy and have an odd flavor. i think baby peas would have been a better choice. out other entree was homemade pesto linguine with vegetables, you could add a protein, but we found it unnecessary. lots of great choices to tempt one with on the dessert menu, but we were to full to indulge overall, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME....then ENTIRE staff was great (special shout out to the bus girl...sooo super friendly). we HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!!! read more

Overall this was a good experience! My wife had the ravioli with ricotta and spinach with artichoke hearts. She said it was weird because the ricotta was grainy and not very creamy. But the artichoke hearts were delicious! I had an off the menu chicken parmigiana. The chicken was good, but the accompanying pasta had huge chunks of garlic in it (very unappetizing). We'd still go back and try something different. read more
