Took out of town friends to dye here prior to one of the harbor Tower boat sunset cruise. The food is always delicious. We had seafood options in this visit, and they were excellent. Ambiance was amazing, such a hidden gem in Harbor Town. Will absolutely be back. The bread and butter was delicious, cocktails were great, and food was amazing. We tried the mussels and the she crab soup both were phenomenal. For entrees the special was a blackened grouper over risotto that had crawfish and sausage - fantastic, and the seared ahi tuna which was fresh and delicious. We sat as a table of 7 with two kids next to a big family with several kids but we didn't feel like we were in the kiddie section. I had the salmon. That grainy mustard sauce was delicious. When the waiter asked "how's the soup?" before they brought the soup, we should've taken it as an omen. The soup was fine and about 20 minutes later the waiter came by and said the main course would be brought any minute. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either and nothing looked like it would take extra effort to prepare. We've been coming to HHI for almost 25 years and each time we've made it a point to eat here. We've vacationed in Harbor Town a dozen times over the years but never visited CQs. Manuel was our waiter, and the entire service was impeccable. We had the wedge salad as a starter. I had the pork chop which Manuel recommended, and it was incredibly tender with bacon and onion toppings. My wife had the grilled scallops and shared two with me. Before I continue be careful when you walk in there is an elevated step and you might trip. Other than the risky entrance this place is terrific. My sister's tuna was seared to perfection. We in live Sea Pines and went to CQ's last week and we were extremely disappointed. The Calamari was extremly fishy (did not seem fresh), very rubbery and they had toast bytes in there that were poorly prepared and uneatable. The Sea Bass too much Skin on it (maybe on purpose but came across as poor). one of the wines served (actually recommend) was as acidy as anything I've ever tasted, but we did not complain about that. The Salmon Was good and the desert was just ok. Unfortunately I would give that dinner 2 stars. They did not charge for the Calamari when we sent it back, which was very nice. The atmosphere goes for a "old" nostalgic look, but now comes across as run down. read more

What I love about this place most of all is the ambiance - it feels like you're in a cozy log cabin. The service is usually decent and the food is good, a tad overpriced for the quality. Good wine selection. Compared to other restaurants on the island the fried green tomato appetizer is not very good, if I could do it over, I would have done the shrimp cocktail or calamari instead for an appetizer. I got the mussels (which are an item on the appetizer list) for a meal and they were absolutely delicious. The sauce in that dish is spectacular. They also have very good bartenders - had a fantastic dirty martini and I saw them making other classic cocktails that looked very well done. Overall, highly recommend for a nice night out for dinner especially since you can walk around harbortown before or after dinner, just wish the food was a tad tastier. read more

We were so impressed with this off the beaten path gem! My husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and wanted to go somewhere special, this place was fantastic! Our server Peter made our experience extra special! He was possibly the best server I've ever had, truly gets an A+ from beginning till end!! We celebrated New Year's Eve at CQ's and what a wonderful treat our dinner was. We were early (beware parking is tough at CQ's small lot) so we enjoyed cocktails at the bar before we were seated for dinner. We scored a fun romantic candle lit two-topper table upstairs in CQ's historic barn loft over looking the dining room and bar below the railing. We enjoyed a crisp bottle of their Prosecco with dinner and ordered the Pickled Pear salad special appetizer - both were delicious. For our entrees we selected Marinated Grilled Shrimp served with Parmesan Polenta cake, sautéed Spinach, Tasso ham, and Tabasco cream; and the 8oz. Filet Mignon - served with potato pancake, grilled Asparagus, green peppercorn and Brandy sauce. Wow both entrees were hot and mouth watering. Our server was superb and timed our appetizer salad and entrees perfectly. We truly appreciate CQ's master bar tenders and table staff. They are polite and efficient. Great place one of the best on the Island. Locate in Sea Pines. Need a reservation-parking is tight-expensive but worth every penny. The food & service are outstanding. Michelle took nice care of our party of 5. We were in the bar area which was nice with no noise concerns. The menu has great offerings. Cq Fast 'fine' dining. CQ's reputation proceeded our visit by family who are regulars there. They recommended we make reservations, we did. That evening rain was moving up the coast from Savannah. To avoid the rain, we requested an indoor table at the hostess station. We were guided to a table two steps away... without clearance to our neighboring table. We wedged ourselves at the table with menus and the wine list. Once seated, we noticed the a/c floor vent was blasting on our legs underneath the table, I diverted the a/c with the wine list. We ordered cocktails on ice, instead. Having arrived at 7 pm, we were seated, reviewed the menu then ordered drinks and salads along with main courses. Punctual service. Nice. Rolls & Salads arrived promptly, 5 minutes later, table was cleared. Within 5-8 minutes the main courses were served. Main course selections: scallops w/ risotto, ahi tuna with greens, and crab cakes. Overall the food was fine thus the two stars. My beef is... we were seated awkwardly, rushed through our dining experience and watched our server being more interested in his tips rather than his customers. I'm basically annoyed by the lack of consideration for the customer's dining experience. We noticed there were empty booths in the main dining area so not having space wasn't the rationale. During our time on Hilton Head Island, we've dined on fresh seafood without the rush... perhaps, patrons call the place CQ for Consume Quickly! read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The ambiance is absolutely lovely. Quaint in a warm and charming way. The service was impeccable and the staff couldn't be more friendly, professional and attentive. And the food was outstanding. My seafood pasta with lobster and shrimp was fabulous and the She Crab soup was one of the best I've ever had. My daughter loved the butternut squash soup and the filets she and my husband had were cooked to perfection. This is a definite must for a return visit. read more
