Decided to check out Frankie's Pizza in Gahanna. I wasn't there for pizza. I was there for some of their BBQ. Ordered the Garlic Parmesan smoked wings and the Pork Burnt ends. The wings were super moist and a great garlic flavor to them. The burnt ends had a nice spice to them and super tender, you will not be disappointed with them. Yummmy!! The garlic cheese bread had a ton of garlic butter on it and they put a perfect amount of cheese on it and baked it perfectly. Delicious!!! read more

Another order of beautifully crafted 16" pies from Frankie's Pizza in Gahanna. The first one is his traditional pepperoni and the second one is Hot Sausage with a White Garlic sauce instead of a red sauce. The crust is thin and crisp, doesn't flop and has just a little sweetness, but not too sweet. I don't like sweet except in desserts and I can never stop eating this pizza. The pizzas are not greasy. Also, he smokes his own meats. If you're into subs with your pizza, his are amazing! He doesn't try to tempt you with loads of subpar meats on his Italian, but rather just the right amount of quality meats. Christmas Day 2020 brought only a handful of restaurants being open with door dash service so I tried Frankie's. Delivery time was over an hour (restaurant is about 10 minutes away) but that wasn't an issue- roads weren't great with the snow. Completely understand and just happy they were open for delivery on Christmas. Ordered garlic cheese bread, cheese sticks, and "burnt ends". The food was good, the burnt ends had incredible flavor definition, could definitely tell they were smoked for awhile. There were several fatty pieces but overall the food was good. Frankie's is a small pizza place behind Rita's on Granville St in Gahanna. I've lived in Gahanna all my life but have never been. On a Thursday night with no food in the house, Frankie's was a great choice. Ordered a small (10 inch) pepperoni pizza with thin crust. It was near closing time but I got my pizza hot and fresh in about 15 minutes. The pizza had lots of pepperoni, similar to Massey's and Donatos pizza, both of which I love. It had a slight sweetness to it (the menu mentions that the crust is sweet) but nothing too overpowering. I thought it added a nice contrast to the savory pepperoni. I can't say that I like it over my other two favorites but the pizza was good, and being that it's so close to my house I'll come back again. read more

I wish Frankie's was the first thing to come to mind when considering pizza. Not sure why, but maybe some others stand taller in my opinion. Great sausage, and super friendly owner keeps me coming back. I couldn't remember my last visit, but was surprised to see there were 3 previous check-ins here. Then you see the pictures and remember how much you love those medallion slices of spicy sausage. The thin crust, and that edge to edge bounty of toppings. The price is on point. No pretentious pie costs, or value price skimping. I recommend giving Frankie's a go. I wish I remembered to, more often. They give a military discount, and have coupons that you can print from their website. I think I recall some daily specials posted. Ask when you call. Small spot around behind Rita's Ice concoction. Parking in the rear or bank next door. They don't need much because there's no dining in. It's all carryout across the counter. 2 lounge chairs and a video game in case you arrive early. I never seem to remember the modern smoker standing up in the kitchen. You can smell it when you walk in. He's always doing something with it. This time was no different. He was doing pork belly. He carried over a tray and offered me a piece. It was so good and flavorful. He's got that smoker meat skill for sure. I asked if he was creating a new specialty pizza recipe. "Nope. Just messing around". He told me they smoke their wings first(naked), then flash fry for crispiness before shaking in sauce. He gave me one of these smoked wings to try. I want to believe that their sausage is so good because they smoke it. I have my own taste specific hang ups. The sauce or crust is too sweet for me. If he ever gave the option of choosing a sauce with smoked tomatoes and less sugar, I would be there too often. read more

May be one of the best pizzas I've had in Columbus. Great crunch to the crust and a delicious sweet sauce. If you are wanting Ohio Style pizza, this is a perfect representation. Frankie's is legit, from my experience. We've been ordering from them since they were on Stygler Rd. I remember when Frankie used to deliver personally! Their signature is a sweeter pizza that is just right. Never had a bad pizza from them in all the years I've been a customer. Their current shop is tucked behind Rita's with a few parking spots to squeeze into. It's a tight fit getting back there when cars are parked out front. There are no tables inside; it's a grab and go setup. And no in-house delivery, unfortunately. But, if you want good pizza, go for Frankie's. They've been consistently reliable. read more

I have a breakdown below from our multiple experiences :) Food: - Pepperoni/cheese pizza is always a great choice - Garlic Bread has been the best side dish we have tried (wings, cheese sticks and Bosco sticks were okay, but I'd just get more pizza) Great Customer Service Story: - We have been here about a dozen times since going in June. About two weeks ago, we called in for our pizza night and unintentionally ordered something slightly different from our usual (multi-tasking - yay!). During our call, they specifically called out that we typically ordered something else and asked if that's what we wanted again. Great service because that is what we wanted and appreciate them knowing our typical order. Parking/Delivery/ETC: - There are about 5-6 spots behind Rita's (where Frankie's is located) and I have never seen more than one car parked in the lot. - They don't delivery; pick-up only. - I have never waited more that 25 minutes for an order. You have to try the wings!! They are smoked to perfection and fall off the bone delicious. The pizza is pretty good too (thinner crust but not crazy thin) but the star is the wings. I picked up Frankie's after searching Yelp for a new pizza place to try and seeing all the good reviews. I live 25 minutes away, so it wasn't exactly convenient but I still wanted to give it a try- and I'm so glad that I did! The pizza was delicious. I found Frankie's via the Yelp app and decided to give it a try for pizza night. A quick visit to their website yielded a $2 off coupon and my order was taken by a friendly person who provided a 15-minute ready time for my pizza. I drove to the restaurant and my pizza was just coming out of the oven. The location was very clean, comfortable feeling, and the staff was very polite. Upon arriving home I opened the box and the pizza looked pretty good. The pepperoni was a little tangy and exactly what my family enjoys. The sauce was fairly nondescript; not bland but nothing really to write home about. Cheese is cheese but I thought the pizza could have used just a little more. And then there's the crust. In reading previous Yelp reviews I knew to expect a sweeter crust but I found it to make the entire taste to be just a little off. I had a craving for pizza; however, I wanted something other than Donatos, Massey's, etc. I ordered the Meaty Meat (comes with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon) and some spicy garlic Parmesan chicken wings. The wings are pretty good, but the pizza is AMAZING! Lots of toppings, perfect amount of sauce, perfect bake, and all around great. 10/10 will be back. Probably soon. Just tried Frankie's for the first time and it was great! The pepperoni pizza is classic Ohio style thin crust but sweeter than the usual. It had a perfect amount of crunch and was just a little bit fluffy. The pepperoni, sauce, and crust were all super flavorful. The smoked wings were fresh and you can tell they were actually smoked in house. This is now one of my favorite places in the Columbus area and we will definitely be ordering from here again! read more

We placed a take out order and had to wait but we could see they were busy. Satff was nice but busy. The order was correct. My personal response is we loved the taste but would ask for light sauce and extra cook next time (the pizza crust taste was good, a nice hint of sweet but we wished it was a bit crispier which may have been handled with either/or light sauce or a bit longer) the pep-peperoni was good and we had one with just cheese and bacon. I know personally i like less pizza sauce so that ones on me. We also got burnt ends which were amazing but wish we had also sampled the wings (maybe next time) honesy id give a 4.5 if i could. Worth a shot for sure but trust your gut if you know you have preferences (like you like less sauce or a crispier crust). read more
