    Frankie's Special

Why isn't Frankie's regarded as the best pizza in Issaquah? We're huge fans and pretty much eat in most Friday's for family pizza night. They have a daily deal where you get one pizza at regular price and a second pizza 50% off. Also, if you remove one topping and replace it with another, there is no up charge. WHAT?? National chains don't even do that. We love Frankie's and we love supporting small businesses. If you haven't tried it, we highly recommend it. Two large pizzas with the "daily" coupon code was $38. Feeds 6.

I had received a free coupon for a large pizza from Frankie's so of course we had to try them out! When my family and I get pizza, we typically go to Dominos or Papa Murphy's, but recently we decided we should try something new! When we opened the menu, we were overwhelmed with the number of options to choose from. In the end, we decided to get the Feeding Frenzy (yes it includes pineapple!) with the Hand Tossed crust. DELICIOUS! The 14" Large pizza was more than enough for my husband and I and was enough for 2 additional meals afterward. The pizza had the right amount of toppings and sauce together. The hand tossed crust was a perfect thickness, not too thick, not too thin, and would order the hand crossed option in the future. We also ordered a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. They add tomatoes in their salad but I found that was a nice addition to the salad! I wanted to order a Large size but when I ordered on the phone, they told me it only comes in Small so that was a bit confusing (if you order online it gives you both a Small and Large size option). The small size was more than enough for my husband and I. I'm so glad I received the free coupon! Frankie's is definitely our new go-to spot for pizza.

The burger is thick and really juicy, great bun and aioli. The fries are perfectly crispy. The pizza had a really great, I'm assuming wood-fired, crust. The duck was tender and sweet and there was a lot of arugula. It's a sparser craft pizza, which is just so delicious when you are looking for something a little heavy but not over the top. While they boast about their craft beer offerings, they have a great cocktail list as well, and I love that they have a specific whiskey cocktail section as well, with a few that are less common at some bars. The Brooklyn is probably my favorite, but you can't really go wrong. Also, a fellow patron asked for a Toronto and the bartender was happy to look it up and make it for him. And what about the atmosphere here?! It's so wonderful in summer! With its narrow design giving a sense that an entire wall opens to the outside and the patio that extends beyond, it feels Ike you are vacationing somewhere tropical and beachy. This somehow combines really well with the industrial vibe of the interior. They also have some TV's for sports. The service is very friendly, attentive, interactive, and helpful. One thing that was consistent across my three visits, however, was the feeling that the place is always understaffed, so things tend to move slowly. I'm not sure this is the case, it's just the feel you get when it happens the times you visit. This is a bit of a double-edged sword though, since it's such an easy place to just want to sip and nibble slowly while delving into conversation. So, that's not enough to detract a star for now, and honestly I'm already thinking about when I get to eat here again!

Math is hard, but…read moreFlying Pie is awesome. If finding a legitimately great slice of pizza in Western Washington feels like trying to find a restaurant that doesn't give you food poisoning in a notoriously sketchy travel-advisory zone, you're not alone. The search is exhausting. Enter Flying Pie Pizza in Issaquah, which swoops in like a pepperoni-laden hero to save you . I've been here a few times now Here is my breakdown of the Good, the Bad, and the Quirky : The Good: * The Pie: Hands down one of the absolute best pizzas in the region. Their dough and sauce are homemade and made fresh daily, and you can honestly taste the difference. * The Vibe & Staff: The staff is wonderfully friendly. Plus, they have coloring pages and crayons for the kids and proudly display the masterpieces created by these little local artisans on the walls. * Retro Entertainment: By the soda machine is an old-time pinball machine. Head to the back and you will find classic 80s arcade games. (Just try not to lose your quarters before your pizza arrives). The Bad: * The Wallet Factor: It's a bit pricier than your average chain, but the quality easily justifies the extra few bucks. * The DIY Setup: You seat yourself, grab your own plates, and bus your own table. Think of it as burning off those incoming pizza calories in advance. * Service Style: The staff can sometimes be hanging out in the back, meaning they aren't always front-and-center. The silver lining? If you need something, they don't get annoyed at all if you just cheerfully yell out to get their attention. The Ugly (Or Weird): * The Ghost Bar: There is a very nice-looking bar in the back, but it is completely unmanned (they only use it to process alcohol requests). It's like a phantom watering hole. * The Bathroom Obstacle Course: Directly behind this ghost bar is a clothing rack with shirts for sale, which conveniently obstructs your view of the bathroom door. Consider it a fun little scavenger hunt after two slices of heavy-duty pie and a drink refill Final Verdict: Skip the culinary roulette elsewhere and hit up Flying Pie. Just watch out for the shirt rack on your way to the restroom!
