So to start off, we walked in. We sat where we wanted. We waited about 10 minutes while 4! 4 waitresses sat around doing nothing. Couldn't even get a drink. One finally noticed us and told us our waitress would be right there. Another 10 minutes go by. No drinks. Finally a different waitress comes and apologizes saying it's busy. There is no one here. Finally order our food and drinks, I ordered a sandwich and it took them forever to find out how to type it in the computer. They asked for help but no one knew what was going on. Finally the bartender, Adrian or Ariana or something like that helped them and she was the only one who knew what was going on. She is the best. We waited over an hour for our food and when we ordered another long island we were informed that they went up like 1.50$. Top shelf is 11$. That's crazy! Four or five waitresses were just standing there not taking orders, or anything. I am very displeased this place has gone down hill since Cheri left. Good thing Brewster's is back. The food is good and the service is above average but the owner. Went there once and he was engaging and friendly but for three visits after that he actively avoided our table. By actively avoided he stopped and talked to every table in the place except ours. We've never made a special order or request. We order a couple of drinks with dinner and tip over 20%. Pizza was good one day but had to wait an hour to get it, came back on a Saturday and it took a good 15minutes to get our beers ordered lasagna and it cold got it back and it was warm but no sauce on it and it was very dry, not much flavor! I wont come back. read more

Back visiting Three Rivers, I stopped at this staple of TR and fond memory from my childhood- I sat at the bar tonight and tried to keep to myself, buried in my phone but my focus was interrupted four times by the condescending and belittling witch with streaky highlights who was training new staff. I truly felt awful how she accused, reprimanded staff before letting them speak. Thankfully for me, the breaded mushrooms were as great as I remembered and my BLT was great. Visiting town & remembered seeing this restaurant on Restaurant Impossible. The food was great. Decent variety for a place billed as a pizza joint. Parmesan artichoke dip was fantastic! Pizza was very good. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely return. read more

First time here because I looked on Yelp for suggestions. Fast service. Food ordered was quick to table. Onion rings with Boom Boom sauce is awesome. Ordered a pizza and was at table within 15 minutes. Pizza was good, thin crust and custom built. Worth the stop. I come to 3 rivers at least once a year and I will be back. Don't really leave yelp reviews but I had to because of my experience here which was terrible for the second time in a row. Was here for a hour and a half maybe more and we never got our drinks refilled. The food took over an hour to come out and the restaurant was half full. Frankie's has reopened after a transition back to original family ownership. Really enjoyed our time today. It was not busy yet, being early in the afternoon. The restaurant seemed clean and pleasant. The wait staff was punctual and friendly and the order was accurate. The food was very good, certainly improved over previous owners fare. The pizza crust is thin and crisp, very nice. Onion rings and mushrooms were excellent. Beer selections are a bit basic but adequate. Overall I was really pleased. It is nice to have another eating option in town. I will be back. read more

The first time we went to Frankies the place was busy but our service was great and we ended up with plenty of food. Yesterday we returned and swear we were in a different place. The place had two other tables with people but we were not acknowledged for 7 minutes. We had to get b our own little plates for our appetizer and the special cheeseburger for $5 was the size of a small 87 cent hamburger from McDonalds. I guess,thats,why it was the special. The old Frankies is back, and features really pretty good bar type italian food. The hallmark of this place is homemade bread, above average pizza (easily the best in Three Rivers), homemade onion rings, mushrooms and good subs, with cold beer. A fun place to go with nice waitresses and a caring owner. This place is a consistent winner that we enjoy. read more

I grew up only a 10 minute drive from this place and it used to be pretty terrible. They were on an episode of restaurant impossible and the entire layout is very much improved. First I am bias since I know the original Frank and his other franchised restaurants opened by his nephew Sam Mancino. After being out of the business for awhile he opened another in downtown Three Rivers Piasano's. Frankie's new owner did not take care of this establishment. It smelled of smoke, grease and other remnants from a restaurant that was not kept up over the years. The pizza became a joke along with the rest of the food and no matter how much Robert Irvine did in his makeover unless the owner spends time cleaning it will revert back to the deplorable state. In its heyday Frankie's had the best deep fried mushrooms and onion rings. I AM GLAD THIS HAD NOT CHANGED! They came out perfect and we did see other tables where the onion rings were reverted back to their old recipes. However, the bread for the sub did change. It was very tall and while it made the sub look impressive, it did not have the good a flavor as the earlier bread recipe. It was extremely yeasty and tall and it overpowered the ingredients even in an Italian Combo. My mother and stepfather had a wet burrito that looked more like a salad than a burrito that was covered in salsa. I felt it overpowered the ingredients contained in the sub. Also there were not as many choices on the pasta or main entries which was disappointing. For example their special was a prime rib; however it was the only high end entre that was available. Also there were only a couple of pasta choices as well. The patrons were forced to either to have one high end special or bar food if you did not want this entre. The food was a 4 but the choices were only a 2. The interior I was most disappointing of the makeover. It was a black interior, and the bar had not changed. Yes it was cleaner, but the design and the ambiance made it feel you were in need of a flashlight to even see across the table. The light fixtures were just plain horrible and whomever designed them needed to have their head examined. They look like someone had taken slats from food crated, pained them black and hoped that someone's visions was so poor they would not notice. In addition, many areas seemed to be incomplete or had not been attended. We also wanted to see if the caboose but it did not look open . The ambiance was a 2. The food was and improvement but was not at the standards of the restaurant's heyday. The interior did not have any charm and did not improve or change. Yes it was cleaner, but I have seen more attractive McDonalds than what Robert Irvine designed. It was an improvement to make it eatable, but it did not match what it was in it past. read more

I have to say that I really love their pizza. The sauce is awesome and the ingredients are fresh. My problem is with the service, which is always super slow. They're all very nice people but they seriously take forever. I wouldn't go there if you're in a hurry. But I have no complaints about the food. My friends have ordered other stuff besides the pizza and everything has been really good. Please improve your timing, Frankie's because other than that, you're a really good restaurant in 3 Rivers! read more

I use to come in here and the food was great. I moved away and came back last week and decided to go back. I got there before the rush started so I thought it would be a quick in and out which would who've been good with two young kids and a preteen that get bored easy. They brought out our appetizer then brought out the kids meals but we sat there for a hour waiting for the grown up meals. Then I had to keep asking for parts of our meal like dressing for a salad and the potato for a meal. My grandson and I had been snow skiing in the Kalamazoo area and decided to try something new on our way back home to Indiana. Using this app we saw Frankie's and decided to give it a try. While the pizza was some of the best we've had, it soon became clear that this was no place for kids at night. Once the Karaoke started, all the heavy drinkers got loud and the women started dancing like strippers. It was extremely embarrassing for both me and my 12 year old grandson. We quickly asked for a "to go" box and got out of there. To be clear I am no prude, but I do wish this app was a bit more clear as to the fact that this is a bar that serves great food, not just a restaurant. This is one of my favorite places to go when I'm home. I grew up with their pizza and onion rings (and it shows) ;). The small personal atmosphere is great. Frankie's is a great place for a family get together or lunch with work friends. I miss being able to run down for a burger or take a pizza home with the family. Well I hated to give this a one star, it use to be a 5 star restaurant especially their pizza. We retired 6 yrs ago from Indiana and it took us almost 2 yrs to find a great pizza here in Michigan and Frankie's was it! I mean almost every week, we would go to the show, just around the corner and stop in for our normal pizza. Not any more, as the reality show (sorry don't know the name of it) came in and redid practically the whole restaurant and menu INCLUDING pizza! My husband and I are not fond of the new pizza by any means much less the atmosphere as now it is so noisy and not ONE TV in the whole place. We went there just last wed (June 20 2012) and couldn't bring ourselves to try pizza again so we opt for something different...the food wasn't bad, I had a shrimp/sausage (I omitted the sausage) and heard they had beer cheese soup, so thought I would get a cup of this soup...it was NOT anything spectacular but when we got the bill, that CUP was $4.00, shocked us! We will certainly miss going there especially not seeing our 4 year server-Scarlett. So now we must find another pizza place but if Frankie's decides to bring back THEIR pizza, we will return, in spite of the noise. Sorry Frankie's we will miss you! J & E read more

After seeing Frankie's on Restaurant Impossible, my husband and I decided to make the 100+ mile trip to check it out. The waitress that seated us and took our order was very friendly. But she explained that she would be taking her break and the gal in the bar would take over serving us. That was fine, until the "serve" part was needed. We had to ask for another pop and a box to go. The pizza wasn't very good, but we didn't mention it, since the table next to us had to send back their fish to be cooked more anyways. When I finally got the bill I had been over charged by four dollars. When I pointed it out to the bartender/waitress she was absolutely rude! She laughed at me several times and then took a phone call, waited on another woman. and then started to make drinks for people at the bar. I said "excuse me but I am trying to pay my bill". She snickered at me again and finally took my money and slammed the change on the top of my to go box. I was absolutely shocked at her behavior! I told her that the reason the business was failing had nothing to do with the food or decor, rather atrocious service. Again she just laughed. The place is dark and not very clean, tastier pizza could be bought in any freezer section at any store, but the nasty help is reason enough to stay away! read more
