the outside of a restaurant with tables and umbrellas

Great dog, needs some TLC on the interior First stop on our epic hot dog day. A Trek leading us to most of the major hot dog meccas in the state, in honor of one of the community events. We came to this place first because it was on the way to the end of the list, and why not have a hot dog to snack on while going to get more hot dogs?! This Frankies is a little run down. the common touch surfaces are clean, but there's lots of dust and dirt along the sils and the exhaust vents. I felt fine eating here, but I did make a note. We order a Georgia hot and a Mac n Bacon dog. They take a few minutes to come out, but once they did I made my way to the booth, took pics, and dug in. A very solid showing! The dog was split and grilled, which I appreciate. Same with the georgia hot, but that had a more solid sear on it. The georgia hot didn't really have spice to it. we were expecting a little heat but the heat never came. The mac and bacon dog was good. mac and cheese was standard fare frozen dinner warmed up mac and crispy bacon. The hot dog was a good quality though. Overall, a good start to an epic day. The place isn't the nicest to sit at, but order to go and you'll be good

Hot dog combo!

I've been going to Frankie's for years! I love the hot dogs, Georgia hots, fries, smoothies and fried broccoli/ mushrooms. The food is good. They don't really serve you, they just call out your number and you get your own condiments so I can't really speak on the customer service.. oh and the have Birch beer !!

Georgia Hot Dog Curly fries

First time eating at this restaurant One of the best Georgia hots I've eaten The fries were the right crispyness and the right color And their pickles were really good in my opinion And the staff that took my order was very nice and patient with me while I decided what I wanted to order.

Huge menu and fantastic employees with pretty good food. I've had Frankie's growing up in Waterbury, CT so I knew what I was there for. A great hot dog and clak strips dinner . They take your order and the receipt has a number on it. They have many items like seafood, burgers, hotdogs and three types of fries . The prices are good.

You turn your plan dog into a master piece with the very clean relish table.

If your a Hot Dog Lover this is good not great it has little bit of everything from deep fried sea food to home made Empanadas but you get exactly what you ask for nothing breathtaking just good quality, I ordered 2 Beef hot dogs the buns buttered and toasted golden brown the beef dogs deep fried it works. One more thing Frankies floors restrooms very very clean

classic Frankies dog with delicious toppings, and awesome fries

Frankies hot dog is THE BEST, in my book. We waited for months to try this location after the one and only location in Florida closed some time ago, and the wait was so worth it. One night stay in West Haven on a recent trip, and we went here twice in the space of a few hours, no questions asked, no need to even think! Why all the love? I lose count. I am a self-service whore, and Frankies has that, and has that PLENTY. And I just loved the old-fashioned, handle-spinning dispensers for toppings like home style relish, raw onion, sweet relish, pickles, and of courses, ketchup and mayo. Their footlong sausage is, I don't even know for sure how they cook it, but I love that lean, grilled flavour and texture, not to mention the toasted hot bun. PERFECTION. Staff were friendly enough and food came out hot quickly, the menu was huge and varied with all sorts of special deals and combos, at dirt cheap prices. I don't care what others might say, but this to me is the quintessential all-American dog, if only because Frankies dog was my first ever American hot dog. I wish them well and I hope they last for ever and ever, so we can return and enjoy in the future.

Not the Frankie's of the old. Service was quick. Cashier friendly. But just a normal hot from home now...

Unsecure wifi, dirty tables, typical roadside spot with unremarkable food. Free pickles!

If you enjoy the flavors of Indian food as well as one of those quick service, hot chicken restaurants you probably would enjoy Hot Murga. The chicken sandwich comes in five spice levels from no heat to super hot. I got the standard hot, and it has some kick, but it wasn't overpowering. Then again I enjoy spicy food. I also ordered their spiced mac & cheese. Again, not spicy at all, but flavorful. Also a good portion as I have leftovers for later. I had my food delivered, but this establishment is close to the Yale campus and street parking can be a bit tricky on Howe St. and around Broadway. I've been inside of the space once when it was a different restaurant some years ago, it's not a large space, but I'm pretty sure comfortable if you decided to dine in. If you ever find yourselves at a crossroad between wanting Chick-fil-A and Indian food, this would be a great alternative.

So much meat and it's good corned beef too! The sandwich was toasted, unlike NYC location and also $10 cheaper. Worth it. Chocolate bomb was meh. If you're searching for that authentic, old-school Jewish deli experience without trekking into…read moreNYC, Katz's Deli Restaurant in Woodbridge is a masterclass in tradition. Here is why this spot remains a cornerstone of the Connecticut food scene. The Star of the Show: The "Elaine" Cut The absolute centerpiece of the menu is the Elaine cut of corned beef. For those who find standard deli meats a bit too lean or dry, the Elaine cut is a revelation. It is: * Perfectly Marbled: Expertly trimmed to retain just enough fat to keep the meat incredibly moist. * Melt-in-Your-Mouth: Steamed to a point where it practically falls apart under your fork. * Generously Portioned: They don't skimp; the sandwich arrives piled high, a true monument to deli meat. The Foundation: Perfect Rye A sandwich is only as good as its vessel, and Katz's seeded rye is the gold standard. It features a crust that offers a slight "snap" when you bite into it, while the center remains soft enough to soak up the juices from the corned beef without disintegrating. The caraway seeds add that essential, earthy punch that cuts through the richness of the meat. The "Accessories" (The Full Reuben Experience) While the meat stands alone, the accompaniments elevate it to a gourmet level. To get the full experience, you have to lean into the "accessories": * Swiss Cheese: Thick, nutty, and perfectly melted. * Russian Dressing: Tangy and creamy with just the right amount of zest. * Coleslaw: Crisp, fresh, and not overly drowned in mayo--it provides a vital crunch. * The Pickles: No visit is complete without their signature pickles, which provide the sharp acidity needed to cleanse the palate. In an era of disappearing hospitality, the staff at Katz's are refreshingly helpful and efficient. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, there's a sense of "family" energy that makes the dining room feel warm. While deli prices have risen everywhere, Katz's offers genuine quality for what you pay. You aren't just paying for a sandwich; you're paying for premium cuts, house-made sides, and a portion size that usually guarantees a delicious lunch for the following day

Mac N' Out is a comfort food eatery that opened in Darien, Connecticut in June 2013. It was founded…read moreby Kate Voll. Growing up in a home with three sisters, Voll had several years experience of working in the kitchen as well as her parents' food establishments. After graduating with a degree in finance, Voll came up with an idea to open her own eatery. After some experimentation with her sisters in their parents' kitchen, it was decided that Voll's comfort food eatery would be exclusively dedicated to macaroni & cheese: a dish that most people have grown up with. The first Mac N' Out opened up at the Interstate 95 Northbound service center in Darien, with a standalone location opening in Milford the following month. The menu features at least 20 varieties of macaroni & cheese (from traditional to Mediterranean to Mexican) as well as "mac munchies", "mac wraps" and "Mac salads". Following the success of the first two locations, a take-out only location opened in Bridgeport in 2015. As of 2026, only the Milford location is still operating. I recently visited Mac N' Out with my younger son while we were in the area. It just so happens that my younger son's favorite food is Mac & cheese, so he was delighted to have lunch at an eatery that exclusively serves the classic comfort dish. We were so overwhelmed by all of the different toppings and flavor varieties. My son ordered the kid's portion of "Grandma's Mac" (white cheddar & American cheese), which came with apple slices and juice. I ended up ordering the "Fourth of July Mac" (Hummel Beef Franks, applewood bacon & cheddar cheese). This combo was very nostalgic for me, as my mother frequently made Mac & cheese with cut up Hummel hot dogs for me when I was a little boy. Both dishes were served to us still simmering in miniature cast iron skillets. The mac & cheese is very hot when it comes to you, but it's so delicious! I paired up my dish with a bottle of Foxon Park White Birch Beer. My son and I had a great experience at Mac N' Out and we would love to return to the future. There are so many more combos that we need to try!

Second visit here because I was extremely disappointed a month or two back from my first visit…read more Walked in about noon on a Saturday, the place was steady with takeout with no other guests dining in I was greeted warmly by the young lady working the front. Trying to stay safe and basic, ordered the plain macaroni and cheese, so I can get a baseline. I also ordered a fountain drink. With the tip it was $15 and change. I took a seat after filling up my fountain drink, and waited about 10 minutes for the mac & cheese As I'm waiting for my order, a Scooby Doo cartoon is playing on the not needed television in my left ear. From my right ear, I'm listening to the staff worker in the kitchen singing to what sounds like Italian music. Could've been Spanish music. A little bit disturbing, as the music and the worker were both quite loud Within 10 minutes, my order arrives. The cast-iron pan with the macaroni and cheese in it, a couple of napkins, and a fork. Now I may be old school, or maybe I'm missing something. Why can't this restaurant serve the food with a plate and a spoon for serving out of the cast-iron pan? I'm getting older. I'm not in college or high school anymore eating food out of a cast-iron pan. I actually like to sit down and enjoy a plated meal, whether at home or out paying good money. The only exception I could see would be grinders. But I want a plate here! And if you're gonna serve it in a cast-iron pan, I want a spoon. I was expecting a flashback to the awful mac & cheese I had last time I was here. Instead, I got a very creamy cheesy sauce and an almost al dente elbow macaroni. The serving was generous in the small cast-iron pan. I did find myself using salt and pepper, as I didn't taste any seasoning at all other than the breadcrumbs on top that I mixed in, with this order So I'm gonna stand with four stars, even though I almost want to give it another three. Thank you to the gracious server, without you, it would've been back to three stars. In closing, I drove an hour and almost 20 minutes down to retry this place. I went out of my way..... For future reference, for in door dining guests, it really would be nice to serve plates with the mac & cheese, and the cast-iron pan and maybe over a pot holder. A serving spoon is a must if you're gonna share this dish with somebody. Anybody older than college age will appreciate the plate or bowl to enjoy this meal from... trust me
