HOW did I not know this place existed?! I went to Franklin Street Social with a few friends on a random Wednesday evening a few weeks ago, and I am not exaggerating when I say my mind was BLOWN the second I walked in. Let me set the scene: 13 restaurants. FULL commercial kitchens. One central bar. A historic factory turned into a warm, vibey, eclectic gathering space. And yes...an actual slide for adults that delivers pure, unfiltered joy. We arrived just before closing and had no issues with parking -- plenty of spaces right outside and well-lit, which is always appreciated. But the second we walked in? Game over. This place is STUNNING. Think warm string lights, wood accents, quirky design details, and little surprises everywhere you look. There's even a book vending machine. Like...what?! And then comes the real challenge: choosing what to eat. With 13 options, this was honestly the hardest part of the night. I strongly considered just committing to chaos and getting one item from every vendor, but maturity (barely) prevailed. For my first visit, I went with a tempura shrimp bowl from one vendor and grabbed a kiwi strawberry drink from another so I could at least pretend I sampled the variety. My adventure buddies did the same -- everyone ordered from different spots and we met in the middle at a shared table. That's one of the best parts of this place. No negotiating menus, no compromising -- everyone gets exactly what they want and you still get to share the experience together. The food? Delicious. No notes. The vibe? Immaculate. And yes... I went down the slide. Obviously. And you should too. Do not skip it. Pro tip: have someone waiting at the bottom to capture the moment because the smile you'll have coming down that thing is 100% genuine joy! Also -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- check out the bathrooms. I know, I know...weird Yelp detail. But trust me. Each one is uniquely themed, and the one I ended up in had animals wearing wild outfits. It was chaotic, hilarious, and somehow completely on brand for the space. Franklin Street Social isn't just a place to eat. It's a place to hang out. To explore. To people-watch. To linger. I could have easily spent hours there just soaking it all in. From Megan the coordinator to Kathy the lady helping to the delicious food from el Camino to the margs from the rail bar I cannot say enough good things about the staff or location or how friendly and cooperative they were. We came here with 2 toddlers and it was a blast. Essentially it's a location with different restaurants. You can order from any restaurant you want and there's places to sit. There's anything from pizza to Italian food, Mediterranean food and more. They do have an indoor slide that's two levels and it's either the greatest thing ever invented it or the worst thing ever invented. Any of the kids visiting or relentlessly going down the slide, which was really cute, but also kind of a pain in the butt. It was a really fun dinner experience. read more

This place is actually multiple restaurants in one building like a mall food court but with better food and a bar which to me was an amazing find in an area you wouldn't expect. So there was plenty of selection I settled on Greer's Burger Garage. I ordered the pickle smash burger which was amazing The pickles, The ranch dressing and the bacon bits along with the cheese and the meat mixed into a beautiful perfect dance together. I will say it is one of the better hamburgers I've ever had in my opinion. I also had a hot dog with ketchup nothing fancy just basic and it was very good. The french fries and tater tots were a nice mix They were crunchy and salty It really complemented the other two things I had. Service was walk up and order and they took your phone number and name and sent you a text when it was ready and was pretty quick not fast food level but I was happy. I do like that the place is decked out like the New York City subway almost design wise I feel like they should have ran with SEPTA since it's in Pennsylvania instead but I guess they were going for hip. I would love to go back if I'm in the area again and try one of the other restaurants. But if you find yourself in this small part of Pennsylvania that surrounded by farmland and nice little houses definitely visit here and eat something read more

Tried Hunnies Country Chicken, got the 4-piece tender meal, which comes with fries, coleslaw, texas toast, dipping sauce and a drink for only 12.99. It's a good amount of fries too. So I got this to go and it's about a 30 minute drive home for me and let me tell you it held up amazingly. Both the tenders and fries were still crispy and the tenders were still juicy. I'd give them 10 stars with the take out so now I can't wait to actually sit there and eat everything fresh out the window. I also got an order of crabby balls from Lighthouse 153. They aren't cheap but they are good. Unlike crab balls or even crab cakes from other places that are mostly filling these were mostly crab. These didn't make the trip home. read more

Having a food hall like this in the York/Red Lion area is such an amazing addition! I've tried nearly every restaurant here. Ordering via tablet is easy and you get a text when your food is ready. Lots of seating but can get super busy on the weekends. Def very noisy but a fun place to hang out for sure. Clean and well kept. Stall and private bathrooms. All the food is on the pricier side. Hefty Lefty's - amazing HUGE grinders/philly cheesesteaks. Highly recommend the cheesesteaks and grinders. Prob my favorite spot here. Layali el sham - falafel was good, portions too small Akhi sushi - very pricey, the special sushi roll I got was good though Taqueria el camino - love their birria tacos, so cheesy and good! California burrito was also awesome Slow and Low BBQ - I love the build your own bowl/salad. Their brisket is sooo tender and the salad was affordable and delicious. Thai Street - quite pricey for a thai place, but I do like their food. Their pad see ew is so good but a small portion. Pad thai is on the sweet side but I like it, some may not like the sweeter notes. The curry puffs are pricey but absolutely delicious. Can't go wrong at this place. Wild Batch bakery - cookies are good, I got 2 at the end of the day and they were a bit dry but tasted good Waffle place - great ice cream and waffles, flavors swap out. Portion of ice cream is kinda small for the price. I mean, my wife was finished with her whole meal from Taqueria el Camino, and I'm still waiting on this dumb sub w/ an order of fries. Wasn't anything special either. I was led to believe it was the best ever - wrong. Pros: -you have food options -you have seating options -there's a payphone between the restrooms. I hope it works. Cons: -Unreasonable wait times from HL. -No real mention of the Rail Bar on the Franklin Street Social website -No draft list on the website. Why? Seems like an obvious thing to display -Draft list in house is not accurate. I order a sour beer from Rotunda and am then presented with 3 different canned Rotunda options. That's great, but maybe write those options somewhere. For all I know you have something else I might want that's not listed and I'll miss out if I don't say the magic password. -How about some actual beer glasses? You sell beer so, again, this should be expected Update 8/27/25: WTH? I was going to give Hefty Lefty's some praise for cutting the wait time down to 25m. But my "Roadside BBQ Chicken Grinder" had absolutely no BBQ component. So far these guys are 0 - 2. Bait & Switch. Rigged. Update 11/21/25: I don't know which Philly Cheesesteak I had at HL back in September, but it was like this pasty mush. Roll was good tho. 0 - 3. So I've been eating at Thai Street on a pretty regular basis. Always get the Garlic Chicken and Pork Belly Bowl (Thai spicy) 'cause it rules. Strangely tho, they charge $4 for an extra fried egg. Lol, nobody's buying that. I can get a whole carton of eggs straight from the farm for $3. Arcade: A+++. Yeah, its the size of a walk in closet but, it's all quality games. Plus they took my advice on the MKII and Galaga/Mrs. Pac-man cabinets so... I walked in with high hopes and they were MET. Wow, what a cool place! It's a food court with a really cool vibe and lots of great options. I brought my whole family on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed with people, but we were able to get table space fairly quickly and easily. I had a Cuban sandwich and tostones from 4 E's Latin Cuisine. It took a while to get my food but it was really good. My commentary when the counter person asked me later how it was, was that the sandwich needed more than one slice of ham. The balance was off, but the roasted pork was incredibly flavorful and not dry. I loved the plantains with mayo ketchup. Older son got mac and cheese with a variety of toppings from The Mac Factory. I didn't get to try it. He loved it and was served quickly. My husband got pad Thai from Thai Street and it was a HUGE portion and he said it was phenomenal. Friend got a steak dinner (for $20!!!) from Urban Steer. I could not believe the portion size for what she paid. The steak was thin but cooked to her preference and well seasoned. The roasted potatoes were amazing. She (and I) wished they offered sautéed onions and mushrooms as steak toppers and more than one vegetable as a side. That day, it was zucchini. Meh. Younger son had an entrée, but I missed it while I was waiting for my food, but he indulged in a dessert waffle from Sweet Tooth Waffles and Munchies. The container he was given weighed at least 2 pounds. It was insane. However, for the waffle with fudge, oreo pieces, cheesecake filling and ice cream, was $20. I don't feel like it's a thing for one person and seemed a little overpriced to me. Youngest son got sushi frm Akhi. He goes to their other restaurant in Hanover, so he knew what he wanted and what to expect. He loved it and ate it before I could try anything. The vibe is very hipster. Some of the tables had pillows and other decor that really was just in the way. The downstairs area with the retro fireplace and couches looks like a great place to chill. There's a sparse play area for kids--- a closed off section with, like a house-y play area, but there's nothing in it. It's just empty, so that's kinda weird. And there's a slide to the downstairs that had a steady stream of kids running around amid the crowds. That was also kinda weird. read more

This is such a cool place! There are several eateries to choose from. Today I got to sample from the BBQ Brisket slider, Akhi Sushi chicket dumplings, and Layali El Sham a hummus chicken bowl and fries. The bbq brisket slider was my favorite. The meat was tender and juicy and a great value for the serving size. Second favorite wee the chicken dumplings from Akhi. I did wish they had less sweet onions and some sesame and diced scallions sprinkled on top and a red spicey oil. I was disappointed with the hummus chicken shwarma bowl. The hummus needed more chickpea flavor and it was too runny. The seasoning of shwarma was lacking sumac and first time having shwarma with pickles. Not a good combo. I love it better with lettuce tomatoes and pickled turnips. If you love McDonald's fries then you'll love the fries here. I don't care for McDonald's fries. I was expecting chunkier fries dusted with cumin. The Franklin Social has a lot more to explore and I will definitely be back to try other places. I also purchased a Thai boba tea, though not done with condensed sweetened milk my son enjoyed it. He said it wasn't overly sweet and didn't care for the ice in because it made it hard to slurp up the boba pearls. There is plenty of parking in the lot as well as on the street parking. The restrooms were unique in decore and loved the sustainability of using hand towels instead of paper towels. Hope they'll continue doing more such as waxed paper straws and biodegradable flatware. It's a food hall. A social gathering space. Just like the ones in California. Only they are more social and have better food. The food here is okay. Over priced for what you get. Not much "social". Can't really have a good conversation as it is too noisy. No real activities. Kids are running amok. Was hoping for a taste of the ones we have seen in California. Should have known better. I overall enjoyed our visit to Franklin St. Social. Some food options we chose were better than others, but I suppose that is to be expected! I really loved the "city subway"/edgy vibes of the decor. The directions to the various spots are written in subway signs, which I thought was really neat. This place is sure to be crowded, especially on weekends, but I felt like they had ample seating! The one downfall that I didn't love is that it is broken up into two different floors. So if you're sitting upstairs and want to get a drink, you need to go downstairs to the bar. I have been to similar "food hall" places, and it is much nicer when it's all on one floor. Not a deal breaker though. Just something to consider if you have mobility issues. I will absolutely return to this venue and I love the ability to try different food options in one spot! read more

Note that it is two levels, and there is a long, steep flight of stairs to go between them. This place is fantastic! My friend and I walked around the two levels, exploring the vibe and menu of each establishment. We ate lunch at the Thai restaurant. Oh my goodness! We ate drunken noodles with just the right amount of spicy kick, fresh vegetables, and shrimp. My friend drank fresh squeezed lemonade--delicious thirst-quencher, I drank an Arnold Palmer (tea/lemonadecombo). Nearby was a water tap for pouring drinking water into our quickly emptied beverage containers. I braved the slide that wants from upper to lower floor, bringing out my inner kiddle! Such a fun food court in the charming Red Lion downtown. You'll find an awesome selection of restaurants, from BBQ, waffles, frozen treats, Latin, Italian, and more. Nice variety of seating, including overstuffed chairs, tables and standard restaurant chairs, bistro style, and more. Parking worked fine for us. I think it depends on day and time for crowds. I got a mac n cheese bowl with pork and some amazing flavorful extra items- ask for suggestions . Also ordered a banana cream cup- decedent. I washed it down with a lemon refresher from Layali El Sham Middle Eastern Cuisine. Topped it off with a smores latte from The Wild Batch. I didn't go down the slide this time . Love the subway theme. There's something for everyone. The seating might not be the most efficient with the couches. There's even a fireplace to keep you toasty. Grabbed a Slumberjack martini at the Rail Bar (yummy) & a taste of the Black Cap General Gates Porter. Besides beers, wine and canned drinks, they also have gift cards that look like metro cards. Also tasted food from Layali El Sham, Thai Street & Taqueria El Camino. Everyone seemed to like their food. IMO the lamb shawarma bowl seemed to be anorexic in the meat dept and not like the other shawarmas I've had before. The pad see ew was decent. Maybe a little over sauced than I like and had a lil spice to it. Tortilla chips were a bit plain. BBQ pulled pork mac and cheese from Mac Factory went fast so didn't get a bite. Grabbed desserts to-go from Wild Batch Bakery (brownie crinkle, snickerdoodles, crème brulee cream puffs & cinnamon roll). The crinkles were excellent (should've ordered 6)! Chocolatey and chewy but also had just enough crispness. The cream inside the cream puffs were delish! Think having an option without the glaze on top of the cream puff might be nice.
