    Chicken Nachos
    Kurt R.

We went for the first time to Franklins Public House. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. I ordered the Chicken Nachos with several items on the side. It came out exactly how I wanted it. I told our waitress that these may be the BEST Chicken Nachos I have ever had and I've had a lot. There was plenty of chicken and the other toppings, cheese, beans, sour cream were plentiful. My only problem was they were huge and I couldn't finish them. However I took the left overs home and had them the next day. We will definitely be back. I'll be thinking (dreaming) about those chicken nachos for a while!! I took this picture when I was half way done.

My in-laws took my husband and me to Franklin's for dinner last night. The restaurant design is really nice! It's like taking a trip back in time to the 18th century, which makes sense considering the restaurant used to be called Ben Franklin Store. For an appetizer, we ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds. They were perfectly fried and, from a foodie nerd side, had great cheese pull. The chipotle ranch sauce was very creamy and smoky. Unfortunately, my entree left much to be desired. I had the grown up grilled cheese without bacon with a subbed side of macaroni and cheese. The grilled cheese consisted of the following: American, cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Swiss cheeses, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli sandwiched between grilled rustic bread. The bread definitely needed some butter on it as it was dry. The sandwich itself was pretty bland. The macaroni and cheese was also bland and the cheese sauce was a mix of watery and processed cheese sauce like the kind you get at sports games. My husband had the supper club whitefish which, upon my tasting it, was better than my entree, but not by much. The fish, although well-cooked and covered in a lemony caper sauce, was bland. The side of garlic mashed potatoes were very good. My husband said he thought the fish was bland. My mother-in-law had the broccoli cheese soup, which enjoyed, but also had the supper club whitefish, which she did not like. My father-in-law had the Cajun linguine, which he really enjoyed. I will give this place another go, but definitely avoid the grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese from now on.

Always a great meal here at Franklin. I LOVE the Cajun pasta, the Ruben is always good and lean. Flatbread is another plus on the menu and my wife loves the salad with the raspberry vinaigrette.

Nice atmospher and good amount of parking. The food was great! Best looking Avocado Toast ever! They are offering some summer entrees too. I had the summer cobb salad witb peaches, blueberries and strawberries. Everything was fresh and the ice tea was flowing! The draft beers were many! Some nice looming cocktails too. The waitress was delightful! The restaurant was close to Lake Katherine. Good for a nice lunch after a walk or kayaking.

Excellent - Great - WINNER!! Started out with the Spicy Margarita and the Mamacita Margarita. Both were delish. For appetizer, we had the Reuben eggrolls which we really enjoyed. Corned beef was tender and tasty and the wrappers were fried to perfection, crunchy and light! Entrees were Franklins Brisket - tender and a nice smokey flavor. Grilled Shrimp Avocado Toast was super yummy. Shrimp grilled masterfully. Presentation is delightful. Overall, the place is clean, service was great and staff is friendly.

Way overpriced and corner cutting everywhere! The burger patty is cost cut down to 10 for a dollar imitation beef jerky meat with an initial normal flavor but terrible aftertaste don't know what's in there!

Sent back the fish sandwich. The fish was not fresh at all. They did take it off the bill. Rest of lunch okay. Great cheese curds.

Great vibe, live music, fresh/hot food with rotating menu. This is one of our favorite local restaurants to patronize.

The music was like they were playing my playlist. And the drinks were great. It was a busy day as it was lunchtime before a Tinley Park concert, but we weren't in a rush. I did participate in the gaming and won on Frankenstein. So that was exciting! The fish tacos were really good. I really like the coleslaw mix in the taco. Thank you for the great experience and good food!! This was definitely perfect before our concert. We will be back again.

We…read morewere greeted right away, seated quickly, and handed menus along with the day's specials. The menu is surprisingly broad, with plenty of appealing options. Our server--who was also tending bar--took our drink orders. Soft drinks arrived promptly, and we asked for a few extra minutes to look things over. I considered a burger, but at $25 it felt a bit steep, so we went with a mix of other dishes: Cedar Plank Salmon with Basil Soup, a Keto Cobb Salad with dressing on the side, The Park Reuben with fries, and a Blackened Chicken Panini with fries. Impressively, everything came out in about ten minutes. The Reuben and the Panini were both solid choices, though the fries were only room temperature. The salmon had great flavor, though the rice could have been a bit more cohesive. The Cobb salad hit the mark--fresh, satisfying, and easy to customize with the dressing on the side. Our server checked in regularly and kept our drinks refilled. The crowd was a mix of regulars, retirees, and casual diners, and we found ourselves eyeing other entrées as they passed by. The restaurant also has a great patio that will be perfect once the weather warms up, plus a well‑appointed bar area with plenty of TVs. Winter Olympics highlights were playing during our visit, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. We took a look at the dessert menu, but nothing really grabbed us this time. Even so, we all agreed we'd come back to try more of the menu--there's definitely potential here.

I visited on a Saturday for lunch and had no problem getting a table. The menu had a variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and mains. I loved how large of a beer and drink menu they had as well as the fact that their patio is dog friendly! I got the Nana's Meatball Sandwich and loved the flavors! They put the red sauce on the side to add your preferred amount. Any entree to split does add a $1.50 gratuity. Others in our group got The Girl's Signature Truffle Shuffle Burger and The Philly. The flavors were great, sandwich portions were large, but fries could have been crispier. Our server Souzie was incredibly kind, full of energy, and did a great job checking in on us. The items vary in price where some are value driven and some seem to be a premium. Overall, thoroughly impressed by my visit and the food quality.
