Stopped in with my parents for dinner. My dad has been wanting to go and I'm sure glad he did. We were able to walk in without a reservation and Zach was a great host. Plenty of space inside and a nice outdoor area where you can eat too. We ordered the ribs for an appetizer and I went with the 9oz filet. The soup came out super fast and was very good. Great bread too. The ribs were full of flavor. Smoky, sweet, and came right off the bone. The filet was a perfect medium rare with great sear marks. Green beans may have been my favorite. Crused ice in martini or Manhattan that is a no no bartender didn't think it was a big deal.The bartender was having a bad day and she made some terrible drinks.When I ask her about the ice first she said the ice maker repair man did not show up when my sister asked about the ice she said I am the bartender not the owner.All three drinks were watered down.We ordered a dozen and a half raw oysters and we were gonna have dinner. because of her attitude we left. read more

Went to this place tonight with eight of our friends my wife and I shared redfish which neither of us had ever had before. It came with garlic, spinach, really nice tiny well done potatoes and a mixture of root vegetables. It came with a wonderful salad and the table had great bread on it. Nice hot soft tasty bread 1000 Island dressing on the salad was wonderful. The red fish was terrific. The vegetables were great. the potatoes were great. The coffee was not so great but everything else was in the waitress was terrific. We brought a birthday cake in for one of our friends and the waitress cut it up and put it on plates. She was a nice lady so I'm giving this a five star. read more

Had dinner with a friend on a Friday evening. The menu had been updated since my last visit. We ordered a cocktail and then ordered dinner. She had sole Milanese and I had a chicken Donovan Both entrees were excellent. Came with your choice of super salad we both chose soup which was a cream of broccoli which was very good as well and then the bread on the table no room for dessert atmosphere is nice. This is a hidden JEM!!!! Amazing service, food and ambiance. Dawn was amazing. She was so attentive and sweet. Food was to die for. Had the red pepper and feta spread app( sorry no pic, we were starving). We had the grouper and walleye and man.... It could not have been prepared better. If you're looking for a place that feels fancy, this is a good one. With white table clothes, beautiful cocktails, and them boxing up your leftovers for you, it feels like a slice of luxury in the suburbs. But do note, the crowd was pretty casually dressed with many people in jeans and a waiter in shorts. For food, I got the Sicilian Chicken & Roasted Potatoes with the House Salad and stuck with the Champagne Vinaigrette dressing. It was really good, but I do have a few notes: the salad was overly dressed for my liking; the Chicken portion was large, but I didn't feel like the potato ratio was quite right; perhaps it was just the menu items I was considering based on my choice of meats/seafood, but I felt like a lot of the entrees didn't come with a vegetable unless you consider the salad (which I don't). My waitress was fairly helpful and I love that she offered a Half Pour of wine when I mentioned not wanting a whole glass - it's half the wine for half the price, and I thought the Pinot Grigio went perfectly with my meal! Things to know: the restaurant is located in a Plaza of sorts with plenty of parking. And the table came with a bread basket and the portions were large, so the prices felt reasonable. Great greeting at the door! We did make reservations yet we arrived a bit before the dinner crowd. Our waitress came right over greeted us and welcomed us as well. The Menu looked great with descriptions of each meal. Along with the daily menu there was a menu with specials. One person in our party ordered Calamari for the appetizer along with placing our beverage order. Not long after everyone placed our orders the Calamari arrived and smelled fresh. Those at the table who tasted it...was delicious. We could tell it was not a frozen product. With each meal there is soup or salad. Most of us ordered the Clam Chowder and it was unanimously delicious! This is generally not a description Everyone has in a party of our size. I ordered one of the specials which was the Swordfish. It was DELICIOUS! Everyone else indicated they really enjoyed their meals. The entire experience was pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We were out with another couple this Thursday. Excellent service! Water and bread delivered almost immediately. One person ordered Schnitzel - mashed potatoes and vegetables- fantastic! Another person ordered Ribs - sweat potatoes- delicious! Third person ordered Filet mignon - bearnaise sauce, green beans and potatoes on side. I had Caesar salad and chicken soup - very good! Most of all I commend the server. We had not been there for 1 1/2 months- but this wonderful server, Cindy, knew everyone's special requests from our previous dining from memory. Oh my! This Palos Heights restaurant is beyond fantastic! I have no idea how this chef can create such an imaginative menu with such depth and creativity. I would order anything off of that menu. How the heck do you do it Zachary? Dining room is lovely, the bar is beautiful (I could do without the TVs, but it kind of had a little ambience for even people that don't watch TVs). And now an outdoor patio with charming string lights. I was a prep cook, and a sous chef on Cape Cod and I have never had chicken soup this good - everything about it was perfect and my dining partner loved it as well. We also ordered the pork belly with jalapeño sauce, which was a perfect glaze and the chicken entrée was yummy. The waitress brought me a most lovely Sauvignon Blanc out of intuition. I don't usually write negative reviews but the phone call I received the day after my Christmas party at Zachary's on Saturday December 13th needs to be shared. The day after my Christmas party for my Senior Group at Zacharys I received a phone call from someone that I later found out was the Chef . She told me that my group of Seniors were NO LONGER Welcome at Zachary's and she preferred that we book next year's Christmas party at another venue. Her complaints were Cash Bar, waitstaff crying and that this was her staffs holiday to. Cash Bar...one bartender for the entire restaurant plus my 34 seniors in their private room. The bar was busy but the restaurant was virtually empty but for a couple of tables the whole evening. The bartender was rude, there was no signs of the waitstaff crying but they were rude to. They bought out dinner without asking when I wanted it served and tapped my guests at the bar on the shoulder and told them to sit down they were serving dinner. Same with the desserts I bought in. Tapped my guests on the shoulder and told them the sweets were out and they should go get them now. I reached out to Zachary both by phone and email and no response. I and my Senior group have spent a lot of money at Zachary's over the years but no more. Zachary's has not only lost the business of myself and my 33 guests , but their families & friends and anyone who asks us for a good restaurant referral. read more

My friends baby shower was here and it was lovely! The restaurant was open just for our party. The space itself is modern and has a nice vibe to it. The space definitely worked well for the shower too. They have a large circular bar that was open for drinks and they made a killer red sangria! Yum! The food was so good! We had cream of chicken soup and then a choice between chicken and salmon for the entree. Our whole table picked the chicken, so I did not get to see what the salmon looked like, but my friend said it was good! The cream of chicken soup was delicious. It has a spice in it, like maybe some cumin? It gave it a smoky/spicy (But not hot spicy) quality that was very good. The bread came out hot and fresh to go with it. It was served with a yummy herbed butter. I could've eaten that all day long! The chicken was super big, well cooked and very crispy. It was topped with arugula and tomato and a vinaigrette too, I believe. The chicken needed a bit more salt to take it over the top but it was still really enjoyable. Very nice restaurant and excellent customer service. The restaurant is located in a strip mall off of Ridgeland in Palos Heights and there is a plentiful parking. When you enter you are captivated by the ambiance of this place. All tables are covered with white tablecloth, they offer a private room, a huge wrap around bar and outdoor patio area. In addition to their menu, the restaurant offers a ton of daily specials. Our server and attendant was very responsive to our requests and everything we had was fresh and very well made. The bread and butter, oysters and fish of the day was excellent. We enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the service. This was my first visit and I have already been back again. I ordered a potpie for lunch, and it was the worst thing I had ever seen. I was completely water downed and had no flavor for the actual potpie filling. The Hostess Barb was not particularly helpful when I called to return the pot pie. I will never order one again, or anything else for that matter. read more

Everything we ordered was spectacular and I'm so glad we dined here last night. I'll be sure to take photos of the food next time. Barb, the hostess, was very accommodating when I called to change the reservation and she was just as sweet in person. We ended up staying long after we finished our meal. Amazing! Atmosphere is upscale and beautiful. My family and I went here for my Dads birthday. There were 6 of us and we ALL loved it! The bread that they make fresh is the best bread I have ever had in my life. I could seriously go there just for the bread! Not to mention the butter they serve with it is out of this world! All the food was hot and the steaks were cooked to perfection! The host at the door checked up on us a few times to make sure we were good and was very personable and funny! I hosted my son and his girlfriend's baby shower yesterday at Zachary's Grill. This was my first time here but I chose it because it was highly recommended to me by close friends. They were so very easy to work with and made the whole experience pleasant from booking, setup, to the cleanup. The place is beautiful, modern and very ascetically pleasing inside. The staff was very friendly and well trained. Zach the owner was such a nice and down to earth guy. The food was absolutely amazing everyone could not stop raving how delicious everything was. I choose the ultimate buffet and everything was amazing from the French toast, the pasta with vodka sauce, to the eggs Benedict (which I usually don't like but this was so delicious), and the champagne chicken, which everyone agreed was the highlight of the brunch. As a result of such a wonderful experience, my husband and I plan to go back for dinner and I will host my daughter's wedding shower here later this year. read more

We ordered fried calamari which tasted like the oil was not hot enough before putting it in. We also ordered the artichoke/spinach dip. It lacked flavor. Need some garlic or something. The fried pita felt like we could ring the grease out of it while still being super crunchy which was strange. The baked potato was good (hard to screw up), asparagus was limp and overcooked. The bartender was extremely nice and my husband was very pleased with the martini she made. I enjoyed my drink while admiring the decor. Absolutely loved the way this space was decorated!
