This may be one of my favorite pizza places. Love the sauce. Ordered a pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers. Was got and fresh.

Food is good and the atmosphere is fun, and the drinks are good and cold! There services was also very good!

This is going to be a weird review. Don't ask me why this. But it is what it is. When I eat in, pizza and sub very delicious. A couple times when I got pickup pizza it's like what the fluff happened to the pizza? Pickup pizza tasted like soggy cardboard with red food coloring topped with yuck pepperoni on it. But then when I eat in, it's like a completely different pizza. No idea. read more

Second year in a row our team has decided to drop in to this place while we are in Newark. This year was bigger, we had approximately 30 people. The server was fantastic! While the food came out as it was done (not upset, only so much room in an oven) everything was fantastic! Food was great and the staff were equally awesome. The manager in this establishment named "Bob" has to be the worst human being I have ever encountered in my 45 years of life. I was sitting at the bar enjoying a drink and some fries before going on my way and this young lad starting yelling at these girls for no reason and sounded unprofessional and non-work relate. Then the next time I stop in there Is one of the young women's mom yelling at the manager. That said a lot. Now on my last and final visit to this establishment, I over hear that yet another young women is being harassed by this man and is being forced to stay past he time of work. I hope this man is held accountable for these actions because they are unacceptable in my book. As a fellow employer I would fire this man and protect my own name. read more

I had heard for years how good the pizza was here. I was in the area and decided to check it out. Boy I am glad I did! A thin, crisp crust with a tangy sauce, the right balance of cheese and toppings! Yum! I had the Carnivore, which has a perfect amount of toppings. Not overwhelmed, and yet not so sparse you have to hunt for them either. Where this pie win me over was the subtle things. The sausage had an after taste of Anise, and the cheese had a Romano flavor to it. They were excellent surprises! It was busy this night, yet we were seated within 10 minutes, our drinks were ordered and delivered quickly. I can't say if the pizza wait was excessive because we were talking and the time didn't matter. I know that I didn't think, why is it taking so long so that is a win. read more

This used to be my favorite pizza growing up , but it has gone down hill. We live 20 minutes away and when we got back home after a 40 minute trip the pizza did not have any sauce And was very greasy. Wecalled them and asked if we could have a credit , but they would not do that. They said we had to bring the pizza back and they would remake it. Seriously bring the pizza back. I do not think we will be purchasing pizza there any time soon and will tell our family and friends. I do not recommend this place anymore. They also gave us a number to a manager and when we called it said to leave a message, we could not the mailbox was full. It's not a huge place and kinda of a hole in the wall restaurant but so worth it, I went last night for the first time with some friends and will definitely be going back. The restaurants theme was so cool and cute, there was lots to look at it and it was just a fun atmosphere. Our server Haylee was fantastic. She was so kind and helpful the whole time, after we were done eating there machines had a malfunction and we had to wait to pay but she tried to get us taken care of as quick as possible. The food was delicious, I got boneless wings and fried pickles and they were cooked just right. The building was packed but it seemed like they were staying on top of it, the only thing was it was a long wait, it was a 30 minutes wait just for 3 people so we ended up eating at the bar which wasn't bad at all, thankfully their was spots open so I would recommend calling to see the wait before you head that way if you're driving a while. The wings were terrible no sauce and you had to pay extra for a dipping sauce. The pizza was disgusting. The price is outrageous. I paid $33 for a 14 inch pizza, six traditional wings, and a House salad. I did not get delivery. I picked it up. Nobody was at the window to pick it up. I had to Call a number that was posted on the window to get service. Sorry I was not a fan. read more

The Hubs and I stopped in yesterday because we had heard about the cool vibes of this place. I love VW autos and this place had my favorite car the VW Beetle along with my other favorite the VW Bus!! The service was friendly and the Veggie Cauliflower Crust Pizza was so good! I couldn't tell the difference between the regular crust and this one. My husband had the Jalapeño Poppers and they were a nice size. I love all the cool decor in this place and the food! Prices were good as well. I'm not sure if they have a Happy Hour?? Very thin. I was not a fan of the pizza. The crust was super thin.l? It reminded me of a cracker. The topping were good but could have used more cheese. First time at Don and Sue's. We stopped in on a friends recommendation. First, Parking is limited. If you have a large vehicle, or if they are crowded, be aware, you may not find a spot. The atmosphere is nice, and cozy. We started with salad and wings. The salad was large enough for 2 to split. The boneless wings were cooked well, crisp and juicy. the sauce had good flavor. We ordered their most popular pizza. I must say that I was not a fan. I think it comes down to personal preference on crust. this crust was cracker thin and cracker crisp. if that is your thing, then you will like the pizza here. For me, I like a thicker crust. Lacks in flavor and substance. The taste changed when previous owner bought from original owners son Donny. Then when they moved to the new place and sold again it's changed. It lacks flavor and substance, barley any cheese and sauce, they put more Parmesan cheese in it, and I don't think they house blend their cheese anymore and apparently they changed brand and style of their pepperoni. They dough was even thinner than it used to be. A shame as it no longer resembles or taste close to the original, and way different than it was 3 years ago. My wife and I were very disappointed. I'd be willing to pay higher price if they went back to original ingredients and didn't scrimp on them. read more

Let's start... The food and atmosphere was really nice. The drinks were so so. However, what really brought me pause was the vintage motorcycle. I really liked it until I noticed the Nazi double lightning bolt symbol on it. Why is that not covered up or an explanation made for displaying it? Good food, crap service. Another failure of 21st century attitude towards customer service. Making a mistake is one thing, lying about correcting it is another. With as expensive as everything is these days, better service should be paramount but it's not. a dozen wings, with an extra charge specifying flappers or all drummies, a 16" pizza and a chief salad, with a delivery charge and tip, over $70 and when they mess up the order, they offer to correct it and then no show on the delivery of them. Haven't had Don& Sue's in 15 years, just as good today I remember from then. Thin and a little crispy, really good. Chef salad is a winner as well! Only downside is parking lot is a little tight but worth it for the pizza that you get. A must have when in Newark. read more

Don & Sue's has been in the Newark/Heath area for several decades. The original location ( was located in Heath on 30th Street) was the "original recipe" & quite good memories of that. Later was re-located & different ownership to Newark. Nice location cal vibe for eating in, with a bar added - can be nice if waiting for carry out-- except no wine :-( . I just don't think this place is for me. Got a 15 inch pizza with 1.5 toppings and two small side salads and it was nearly $30. I'm all for supporting local and small businesses; however, the value just wasn't there for me to justify continued support. I will say the salad tasted good but I wasn't a huge fan of the pizza. Rotating staff at the front desk and majority of the time not staffed. I asked to speak to a manager and staff went to go find one. Then another staff member told me no manager on duty tonight. This has always been one of my favorite pizza places. When my son was a new little infant, (who is now 35+) this was his mommy and daddys favorite place for date night, or TTC nights. You know those nights especially if you have a child. "Too Tired (to) COOK" it was common staple at the Powell's.If only they delivered pizza back then like they do now...lol The food at Don and Sue's back then was the best and still continues to hold up to its reputation of a great tradition in this community. Newark has its fair share of first-rate family-owned eateries, and Don & Sue's is one of my favorites. As a child, fast food was a special occasion, and I still get flashbacks of adolescent excitement when I order here. The shop is split between a small exposed prep kitchen and larger waiting area, with mis-matched tables and orphaned chairs. It's always warm and almost overwhelming with the scent of baking bread, so if you were hungry when you arrived, you'll be ravenous by the time your pizza is ready. They use a chewy thin crust base that bends under the weight of cheese and tasty toppings, possibly thanks to the way it's cut. The pie is sliced in half, and then into thin strips - making the rounded crusty "corner" pieces into coveted points of contention that rarely survive the drive home. But the best part, is the pinball. The machines have been replaced and repaired over the last two decades, but they never fail to provide. It used to be I could barely reach the buttons, and I'd relish the rare victories where I finally scored one more than my dad. Now I'm a crack shot and just as competitive, and I have this tiny pizza parlor and the world's best dad to thank. read more

Don & Sue's is a family owned restaurant in Newark, Ohio. They create delicious cracker crust pizza that I love. It smells so good inside, it drives me mad every time I walk in there. I've always gone with my father in law and we play pinball, so it's big on the feels in there for Aaron A. One thing I really like about the pizza is how the pepperoni gets crispy around the edges. We usually order the big one all the way and take it home. I always think we won't be able to finish it, but we always do. I credit the lightness of the crust. Delicious. I've never eaten anything on the menu except or pizza, but last time I noticed the meatball sub being made MY GOD, that thing is huge! The sandwiches have become a must try.
