I feel like pizza shops in the area have the ups and downs. I've been a fan of a pizzeria up the road from here for many years, and quality started to slip, so it was time to give Franks a chance again. I've had take-out from there at least a half dozen times, and each has been excellent. The pizzas are very good, the Grandma is our favorite. We've had salads and pasta dishes. Food was good, ordered a few different pastas - Penne Vodka with Chicken, Rigatoni ala Frank (sautéed chicken with broccoli in garlic wine sauce). Both were good but definitely prefer grilled chicken over the sautéed (which they coat with flour) but it was still good. Biggest issue was portion size - way too small for the money and smaller than all the other pizza joints within 5 minutes of the place. The pizza is delicious here! The crust isn't hard and overwhelming(which is a huge plus for me), and the pizza is cooked perfectly. The bottom is crunchy, but not overdone it's a good hold! They have your drink faves here too. I love that I can get a Dr browns cream soda, woohoo! (Fountain and bottle drinks, wine, etc). The workers are the nicest, and super helpful. I was craving something with eggplant, so they made me my own slice with eggplant and ricotta, their idea! Plus, they bring the pizza to your table. You guys rock! Parking is against a busy road, so it's kind of limited. But I've never had trouble getting a spot on a weekday at lunch (knock on wood). Staff is friendly and the ambiance is relaxed and casual. Pizza quality is above average. In my opinion, their Sicilian slice is one of the better items. Food is always fresh the pizza is very good. It's a little pricey but I would say it's worth it. Close to my house so that's a bonus... I order from here all the time! Delivery - pick up - staff is great :) food is yummy ! We got delivery. Which is free over $10.00 and that's easy. As an appetizer I recommend baked clams. They have a great sauce and breading and are a good size. For dinner the stuffed shells are also delicious! My favorites are the chicken entrees... I have tried many choices there but tonight had grilled chicken tostcana. Soooo good! They had actual mozzarella balls melted on top on sautéed spinach with plenty of chicken. They are always quick on delivery with delicious food. Let's not forget about the pizza!! It's crisp but not burnt. I used to love Franks for years then they sold and the food is horrible!! Garlic knots have no garlic on top the tortellini used to be homemade and no longer the case taste like store bought and the carbonara is filled with raw onions!!!! Not sure what has changed the past year, but I've been a customer since 97 and I've always loved their food. They have a Buffalo Blue salad we usually order and the description shows that the chicken option is fried or grilled, but comes with it, not as an extra. A couple of times I was charged the extra amount because with their other salads it requires an additional cost. I called and they squared it away. If I didn't mention it tonight I would have been charged. When the lady checked she corrected it. But, I ordered a Grandma pie and got a Sicilian pie. Called and they said they would send the Grandma pie over. It's been an hour and still nothing. I know I ordered a Grandma pie and Im not trying to scam. Is Frank still there? Solid pizza. Came in today and got a buffalo slice. Really tasty but a bit on the expensive side. That and a 20oz of soda was $7. They seem to have good deals for their restaurant side during the week including a wine down Wednesday where they offer half off bottles of wine. Wouldn't mind trying that out! Great night out last night at Franks Restaurant, the new owners are really doing a great job. Joe Balbo the head chef does a great job. Last night was really nice as we got to see so many customers from down the road Pulcinella restaurant. We even got to see Gennaro the old waiter from Pulcinella with his girlfriend having dinner there also. The waiter Joe who by the way worked also at Pulcinella is there on weekends working. I've been going to Frank's since the day he opened, almost 30 years ago. Back then he was a small little pizzeria that made great pies and his entree's were fabulous, this man can cook. What happened to that great pizzeria, he took over the next store and became a pizzeria and sit down restaurant and hired others to cook the food. The food is not very good and my orders are always wrong. The last straw came a few days ago when I ordered chicken piccata and got a steamed chicken with some lemon juice on it and a wedge of lemon, what happened to the artichoke hearts, the capers , and great sauce all missing. Tried this place tonight for the first time through slice. I've been struggling to find decent pizza around here because places like Phil's and Gino's are lackluster and inconsistent. I love mama Theresa's but they don't deliver.. but I digress. We got a pepperoni pie and the house special Sicilian. Both were very good. I wish I had gotten the pepperoni pie well done though. A bit doughy upon arrival... But that seems to be a long island thing anyway haha. Both pizzas were very good, the kid who delivered the pizza was prompt and polite, and the price is good. I just threw out two dinners that where actually so disgusting we couldn't eat either of them. They also forgot one of the items we ordered and after calling they said we will deliver it. This is a small neighborhood restaurant we have gone to for many years. Tonight we got a very unpleasant surprise. When we got to our table, the menus had this notice on the front... "To keep our prices competetive, we are offering a cash discount to customers who choose to pay with cash. The prices you see on our menu are the cash prices. For your convenience we will still accept other forms of payment although the cash discount will not apply." We had to ask the waitress 3 times what it would cost if you used a credit card, since the credit card prices were not listed on the menu. Finally, one of the owners said it was a flat 4% over the menu price. Bad move, guys. You depend on repeat business from the people in the neighborhood, and this is outright sneaky and petty. Just come out and say "cash only" on the front door, instead of trying to pretend you are giving people a cash discount if they don't use a credit card! You are actually charging your neighbors a fee to use their credit card in your restaurant. Do you really think people won't notice that your new "cash discount price" is exactly the same price that it used to cost regardless of how you chose to pay? We are not that stupid. Pros - pizza is excellent. Cons - Frank the owner used to be the man, now this former Amazing cook is no more. He has delegated that to others. It is our loss. He is like a robot now. When I first discovered Frank's it was a small 3 seat take out. The pizza was always amazing. But as their establishment has grown, they relocated to a larger store just a few feet away from the original location. Their menu is now much larger and it seems to be crowded every time I arrive to pick up my order. Lately when I order a pizza, which is ready within 20 minutes, and being that I live a few blocks away I am there early. The pie that I usually have gotten was found to be burnt underneath. This happened more then once and I was even given a gift card from them for the price I paid. I have since decided on trying another pizzeria further away. Frank's might have better service when seated inside but the take out has suffered. My recommendation is to reserve a seat and enjoy because the take out will leave you disappointed. read more

Made an order for delivery specifically said to deliver around back of house to apartment and my food never came. About 40 minutes later I received a phone call from the restaurant saying they tried to deliver but no one answered. That is because they delivered to the landlords and no one was home. Bottom line is the delivery driver did not follow instructions ending in me not receiving my food. When I explained this to the restaurant I was hung up and treated extremely poorly. I simply asked how they would rectify this situation and they had nothing to say other then they would basically microwave the food to make sure it was warm. I will not be ordering food from franks ever again. Canceled my order and ordered from Mario's pizza in Massapequa. read more

A surprising find. Went here with a groupon with my family not knowing what to expect.. well we were not disappointed. I had a glass of wine which was put in a warm glass that I assume was just cleaned, that was a no no. Food wise, I had the person pizza, margaita with artichokes on half and sundried tomatoes on the other half. The crust was really crispy but not burnt at all, delicious! My boyfriend ordered pizaz with prosciutto, onion and olives and he like it as well. My mom had the margarita, was not too crazy about the crust, but you have to like a thin crispy crust to enjoy it. My dad had the shrimp parm platter he said was okay. He had a side of Ziti which was not al dente so not my preference, but the sauce was pretty good. Ordered a pie half plain, half sausage and asked that it be very crispy. The pie came with a few slices of sausage on 3 slices, wasn't crispy at all, and it was cold. Called to let them know and they said they'd send a new pie, which they did (and took the 1st pie back), and the 2nd pie was maybe lukewarm. Ten minutes later, the guy calls me and starts YELLING at us that there was nothing wrong with the pie and what's wrong with you, etc. Pizza should NOT come with harassment. We just ordered lunch from here food was absolutely gross and the whole order was wrong. I always order there lunch specials today we got a chicken ceaser wrap its was soggy and falling apart. We ordered a personal pizza lunch special and instead we received a large margherita pie that was disgusting and they forgot the side salad. I am so mad right now. I ordered a pizza to be half cooked. Well it was fully cooked. We called and I went back.
