I'm very disappointed, I came in yesterday to buy a pint of sauce. I was expecting to pay $3 for it. They charged me about $7.50 for it, and it took forever! It should take that long to scoop some sauce into a container. I was there for atleast 15 mins. When I finally got the sauce ot came in a paper bag in a pint container wrapped with plastic wrap. It felt very hot so I was excited for the sauce. I got home to eat the sauce with some mozzarella sticks from the grocery store, and the sauce was not good! It was sour and had a weird after taste. The sauce was also very chunky. I asked for Mariana sauce and it did not taste like Mariana sauce at all, it should be blended, and flavorful. For sauce from a pizza place I had high expectations! Their pizza is good, but their sauce is terrible! Don't eat their sauce as a dipping sauce.

It was a Sunday night and the pizza craving was hitting hard. I found it super difficult to find a spot that was open nearby and I was lucky enough to find Phil's Pizza II. I walked in an hour before they closed and they were ready to take any order which was good to see. The staff was extremely helpful taking my order and making sure they fully understood what I wanted. The pizza itself was very good. I was surprised, for a last minute try, I was able to find such a good spot. I got the bbq chicken pizza and it was amazing. The chicken was absolutely delicious. Only think that I personally would add would be some tomato sauce like a regular pizza but hey, they're the professionals.

How does one enhance something so commonly found as pizza? Well, I guess that's an easy question to answer in this modern day of "anything goes", especially in the food world, but at Phil's Pizza II, they've done a great job of knocking this idea out of the pizza park (more or less). I found this out firsthand back in late June when I entered the land of toppings. Yep, that's how Phil's does it. It's all about the crazy concoctions of items which can go atop a pizza creating some eyebrow raising options that are actually pretty darn tasty. Well, I don't know how the French onion slice actually holds up, but it's intriguing enough to want to give it a whirl. On my visit, which fell around 8:30PM, I found myself face to face with a glass case of mostly basic (or nothing I haven't seen before) slice choices...that is besides one with tater tots, a Swedish meatball variety, and another with buffalo calamari. An interesting start to say the least. There were a couple of others that were relatively original which actually made their way into my mouth. First off, the Drunken Sicilian. No, this was not an inebriated Italian man, but rather a classic bready, square slice with vodka instead of red sauce. Quite delightful and a pretty solid pizza option. The real uniqueness I partook in (and loved) was the carbonara slice. I mean pasta carbonara is a great dish on its own, but imagine those meaty pieces, little veggie pea bites, and creamy sauce amongst actual angel hair pasta all on a slice. It was glorious to behold and even better to taste! Not to veer away from what Phil's II is known for, but in viewing the place as a whole, the staff seemed friendly letting me know I could sit in the back room (which was more of a waiter service setup) and pricing was decent for my two speciality slices and a grape Fanta (a little more than $10 I think?). The ambiance also rocks a regular pizza place vibe with a touch of style which actually helps in keeping their concoctions on the down low for unsuspecting customers (though a good Yelper would know where to go for insane pizza creations!). Overall, Phil's Pizza II may look, feel, and even smell like a regular pizzeria, but when you take a gander into that display case of pizza options, don't be surprised to find something extremely out of the ordinary (Thanksgiving dinner slice?). Though my on-the-later-side visit didn't bode entirely well for choices, I still got to try a few creations that were definitely original and full of flavor. With that in mind, I'll stick with a four star review and hope to get back to Massapequa soon to try some other concoctions that could lead this unique little pizza spot into five star territory.

Visited here today after a Barnes and Nobles kids event with the family. We each tried something different. I had a chicken parm slice, my daughter a chicken ranch slice, wife a chicken roll and lastly my son had a normal slice. Also ordered garlic knots. Overall I can say one of the better pizza joints (taste wise) on the island. They had an insane variety of pizzas. Too many to list. The knots were good (3 for a dollar) just inconsistent size wise. My chicken parm slice tasted almost exactly like the wife's chicken roll. Not complaining...just point it out. Staff was very friendly and the location is clean. Plenty of parking. I will be coming back.

I've always been a frequent customer of Phil's Pizza in Syosset. So since we were in Massapequa, my husband's craving for pizza took us to their sister restaurant. Size wise it is much smaller than the Syosset location. There is the counter to order in the front and seats in the back to dine in. We were greeted by Sal who was so friendly and showed great customer service by bringing out out pizza slices when they were ready. He even gave us silverware since we were dining in to make it easier to eat. The pizza is great. You have your standards, but if you have been to Phil's, you know they have quite the variety in types of pizzas to order from. They also have entree dishes made to order as well. I got the chicken Capri slice and the white slice there. The chicken Capri is like a chicken bruschetta on a Sicilian slice. The white slice was satisfyingly cheesy. I would definitely return in the future if I'm in the area.

The carbonara is the best I've had in a long time, my husband is a carbonara connoisseur. He has had carbonara in several ports in Italy, Croatia to Bresnik around the world, trust me there is no better carbonara anywhere

The place remains popular as it was quite busy for a weekday evening when I went in. Despite that, I ordered immediately, they move very quickly and the service was good + fast! According to one of the staff members, they're known for their buffalo chicken and bbq chicken slices. I ordered buffalo chicken, the Serra, and a regular pepperoni. The pepperoni was my favorite. The buffalo chicken slice was fairly decent considering I don't care for other buffalo chicken slices. It appeared to be popcorn chicken tossed in buffalo sauce and with a light drizzle of blue cheese dressing on top, so hard to mess up. Additionally the Serra was fine as well, possibly needing a boost in the flavors (or salt) since it was just sauce. It seems like a decent, casual place to sit in and grab a quick bite, they had some cocktails on the menu that looked interesting and I'll keep in mind for next time. Overall, I look forward to coming back and trying other items

Choose a side because we're in the middle of Long Island pizza wars! From the crust to the sauce, Rob Cervoni has the process down and rolled out his second location in Massapequa (These guys always have me traveling, I live on the damn north shore!) We could talk about Rob's accolades but in all honesty? All I want is good pizza. After the other day when I stopped by for lunch? My ranking order has changed, Taglio is now my #1 pick for 2026 on Long Island. The Massapequa spot is larger than Mineola, there's public parking in the back. Once inside, it's like Mammas Too in NYC with the crazy pizza toppings / flavor choices. A purest will say hot honey doesn't belong on pizza. Guess what? It's my money and my choice so add more honey and take my money! I told my brother in law about the new location, it was his first time trying Taglio and he flipped over the pizza. Taglio looks like a typical Long Island pizza spot that we all know and love. After tasting the pizza, from the New York thin crust, the cheese and sauce? This pizza is ready for battle. It's a place you would travel to, it's nothing like anything in Stony Brook where I live. (Rob, can you get on that? Stony Brook is a large college town and no good late night pizza spots) I knew bromade was used in fast food hamburger buns. Taglio pizza is using healthy Italian flour. In regard to the pizza wars? Rob, I have actual combat ribbons. Trust me, no one is better. Go to battle.

We aren't familiar but given the previous man didn't acknowledge us maybe we could just self sit. The women told us she will be right with us and proceeded giving the other customers water. We said ok and patiently waited. I asked the gentleman at the bar if he could give location for restroom. I took my toddler with me to the long walk around. They really could use a bathroom in the back. But regardless, we went and were hoping to see we had a table on the return. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. My husband was still standing around. We waited for 15 minutes, mind you there were plenty of empty tables. I see this place has amazing reviews, I can't tell if this is just a local spot and they just service them but truly it was baffling to see several people working yet no one could give us a table. I see my friends mostly at wakes now and my ride fell down on me, so here in Jamaica i stand. For all who've not been, it is about the dirtiest, most germy place per square foot in NYCs transportation world. Its the kind of place I hope you'll never ever see in your life. Everybody's bumping into you and yelling about track changes, looking like a bunch of morons who think they're going somewhere important. Anyway, I ended up getting off at Massepequa and going to Leonardo's Pizza hoping they had a beer but they didn't, figures. First, I had the Italian Wedding Soup. It arrived looking like a drowned swamp with all those stringy, pale noodles swirling around in the broth like a bunch of white wigglers, similarto what i had for first lunchies. They were just sitting there next to these limp green leaves and the carrots were just floating in it. It's like the soup is trying to convince you it's healthy, but the whole thing just looks depressing. You take a bite, and it tastes, well, it tastes rather good, but the name is what really gets me. "Italian Wedding Soup." That's a odd name if I ever heard one. What does soup have to do with getting married? It just makes you think of a bunch of grandmothers crying and guys in rented tuxedos talking about their golf handicaps and portfolios. Plus I'm never getting married again, never ever - i learned my lesson. Then came the Detroit Slice. It sat there on a paper plate next to my copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which was the only thing in my whole damn life that's keeping me company. Look at the edge of that crust--it's burnt to a crisp. Black as night, dark as spadesbut maybetgats how they do it on Long Island. The sauce is piled right down the middle like a thick red streak, covered in all these little dried oregano herbs I applied. I sat there eating this cheesy crusted square, staring at Mark Twain on the cover, and I swear it made me feel sad. Not because the book is terrible, it reminded me of my childhood, another complete disaster. The pizza actually had that crispy, cheesy edge going for it, I'll give them that, but because it felt lonely eating alone in public,vi never do that. Me, Samuel Clements and a thick slice of pizza on a cheap paper plate. Next time I'll be sure to eat out with someone fun.

Mikes Underground Pizza just slid into my Number One Spot for the best pizza on Long Island. There's a lot of quirks to piss people off to get at this pizza. My father in law in Florida wouldn't have the patience to pull off this caper. -Coming from the north shore to drive south, *1000 Montauk Hwy* on the Tesla Nav will not bring you to the location, I was at the hospital in Islip. You have to put West Babylon at the end -And it's *Cash ONLY*. Now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, let's continue with the review. The 14" Clam Pie is a game changer. I've waited on very long lines at Frank Pepe's in New Haven to get their clam Apizza. It's good but Mikes Pizza is far superior. Simple with freshly shucked clams, garlic and breadcrumbs, now add the crust that a comes from a true New York pizzaiolo who doesn't cut the pizza Connecticut style (like it came out of a slasher film) and now you have a competition pizza that Dave Portnoy would give a 9.4. The Vodka Round was equally impressive. The sauce was so complex, first bite I could tell it was a home run, out the box (see what I did there) a winner. Here's my issue, I drove from the North Shore to the South Shore to an abandoned bank parking lot to get at this pizza. I know the business model is working for you but it doesn't for the customers.
