I've never had a bad pizza at Saverio's and it's a must stop every time I'm even remotely in the Massapequa area. Every time I visit I always grab a few pizzas to bring home and I always make sure to ask to upgrade to DOP ingredients. This place is as authentic as it gets. From the oven, which was imported from Naples, to the owner being a certified pizzaiolo, and the amount of DOP ingredients in use and available, there's a level of care and respect for Neapolitan pizza that you can taste in the each pizza. The ingredients are excellent, the crust is consistently great, the dough has the perfect chew , and nothing feels like an afterthought. Over the years they've grown in popularity and have added several new items on the menu, to include pizzas, but the ones that stay constant in my rotation are Moms, The Margareta (DOP), and the meatball with ricotta. For me, they make the best neopolitan pizza on Long Island. I also love that it's connected to the pork store next door. There's something about the whole setup that feels like a throwback to my childhood and the kind of Italian American places I grew up around that seem like there's so few of today. Going to Saverio's is more than just grabbing a pizza. There's whole experience has a warmth and authenticity to it that's increasingly hard to find...and while you're waiting for your pizza, going next door and buying some food, whether it's cold cuts, cheeses, or pasta is very much a part of the experience. Saverios is genuinely one of a few places I always look forward to visiting when I'm on the Island. You should check it out if you haven't already. read more

This was another pizza spot we had to try and overall it was a great experience. I really loved the service and how friendly everyone was, from placing the order all the way to picking it up. I definitely think these pies are best eaten fresh out of the oven when you can really get that nice crunch, but even after bringing them home, they still tasted pretty damn good. What made it fun was ordering a variety so the whole family could try a little bit of everything. Everyone ended up having their own favorite, which always makes for a good debate at the table. Mine was definitely the fig--the combination of flavors just worked for me. Good pizza, great service and a fun way to do pizza night with the family. We've had this place saved on our " go to" for so long and we decided we're in the area we should just go! And with hungry stomachs and excitement we decided we see they have a back patio let's eat there. While the space is nicely decorated we saw several staff talking to tables and making eye contact with us and not waiting us. We stayed for another few minutes before we found another staff member and asked if we could just grab a table or do we need to wait. We aren't familiar but given the previous man didn't acknowledge us maybe we could just self sit. The women told us she will be right with us and proceeded giving the other customers water. We said ok and patiently waited. I asked the gentleman at the bar if he could give location for restroom. I took my toddler with me to the long walk around. They really could use a bathroom in the back. But regardless, we went and were hoping to see we had a table on the return. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. My husband was still standing around. We waited for 15 minutes, mind you there were plenty of empty tables. I see this place has amazing reviews, I can't tell if this is just a local spot and they just service them but truly it was baffling to see several people working yet no one could give us a table. Of course we are back! We brought my son's friend who just moved here and had to introduce him to some awesome coal fired pizza. As usual, it was perfectly thin crust. We ordered a new to us pizza: Speck and it was delicious. It was our guest's favorite! This time we also tried the Depequa pie which my daughter because it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Connected to the A&S Pork Store, Saverio's has a small counter with a few tables inside, a larger room next door which can also be used for parties and some nice tables outside which has wait service. I believe they also have a nicer outdoor space around back, but I've only seen it on social media. Staff is friendly and service quick. On to the pizza! The Margarita Pie was an excellent version. Meatball and Ricotta pie, is a hearty once, but the luscious ricotta blends well with the rich meatballs on top of a lovely sauce and mozzarella. Just delicious. Speck pie is sauce less, with cream, speck, parmigiana and drizzled with Mike's Hot Honey. The crispy, salty speck melds beautifully with the honey drizzle. Fabulous pie. The mozzarella used is homemade and the dough is just about perfect. It has a great chew and flavor. Overall the pizzas feel light and doesn't weigh you down. Such a great family run, brick oven pizza place. Have been coming here for years and always have a great experience. The pizza is fantastic all around, can't go wrong with any pie. The shrimp pie is our new favorite. The burrata salad is a nice start, as is their meatballs. They have an awesome, quant, outdoor dining area in the back, as well as indoor seating. The staff is so friendly and the owners are very nice people. This place is a must try if your looking for some awesome pizza. Was looking to meet a friend for pizza. This spot was in between both of us and had a 5 star rating, so we checked it out. It's an Italian market and pizzeria/restaurant. This pizza was right up my alley. Typical Long island pizza is too doughy, no flavor to the sauce, and honestly it's all just average at best...add in letting it steam in the box for 15mins while it's getting delivered... Just take yourself to Saverio's and dine in. This brick oven pie was paper thin and crispy and just perfect, in my opinion. I will 100% be back here on a regular basis. The 3 beautiful ladies taking care of the dining room, I believe one was the owner, were all so nice and attentive. They also have a nice outdoor setup for the summer months too. Saverio's pizza is so incredible that I had to leave a review, and I rarely review pizzerias. The pies here taste like some of the ones from my 70s/80s childhood when Italian immigrants made most of the pies in my Mt Vernon/Yonkers neighborhood. Saverio's is a family-run business that has a wide variety of pizzas. The Speck pizza drizzled with some truffle oil on top is my favorite. The pizza here has a good sauce to cheese ratio with excellent char flavor on the crispy and fluffy crust. It is made in a brick oven that is wood fired. It is Neapolitan-style pizza that is made with fresh mozzarella and fresh tomato sauce. The middle of the crust is thin and floppy, but it still has good texture. Saverio's is the best pizza joint on Long Island, IMHO, not only because of the quality of the pizza, but also because of the friendly and professional staff. Looking for a local relaxed spot to land after her siblings and their significant others arrived from out of town, my daughter chose Saverio's for her birthday eve celebration. At first, a little taken aback when shown to our table in the pork store, but as the room filled with other families, it grew on us. A truly unique setting, sitting under the hanging provolones. Our group enjoyed bottles of white wine, for me a negroni. We started with antipasto for the table. Simple yet remarkable in flavor! Roasted red pepper, herbed cream cheese stuffed peppers, artichoke hearts, cracked green Sicilian olives, and the most delicious braided mozzarella. We had 5 pies in total, the classic margherita, fig arugula, the night's special spicy vodka burrata, and two of the Saporita pies, with fried eggplant and pesto! Pizza was great! Kept it simple with the Classic Margherita. Nice quaint place and service was spot on. Not sure if it is just this part of the country, but the iced tea was not pleasant. Third time here and the food and pizza remains amazing. It's just an absolutely delicious experience......BUT..this was the first time, out of the three, that the service was not great. Our waitress was a bit cold. She also told us that fountain sodas were not refillable despite the fact that the last two times they were. She didn't seem to like my questioning her on this. Little old school pizza joint serving authentic brick oven pizza. We ordered meatballs for appetizers which were very good despite not being hot but the homemade sauce and texture of the meatballs made up for the temperature. We ordered a margarita pizza which was very good. The crust was perfect . The cheese does slide off but it's still a good pizza . The staff is very nice and the overall atmosphere is very cheerful. The best pizza on Long Island! This is the closest to Italian pizza that I have had! The sauce, cheese, crust, and toppings all hit the spot! Definitely come if you're in the area! We ordered Mom's Meatballs, Classic Margherita with pepperoni, and Speck. All were very good but our favorite was the Speck! Get it with Mike's Hot Honey and truffle oil! You won't regret it! I wanted to try Saverio's for a long time. I love wood fired pizza. This did not disappoint. The crust was super crispy and chewy at the same time. Great wood fire taste. The speck was crispy, salty and chewy. Cheese was delicious and the hot honey was a perfect accompaniment. Pizza was done in 30 minutes during the afternoon rush so that was great service. The owner, Saverio, is a certified pizzaiolo of the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (Association of Neapolitan Pizza-makers) and they use imported ingredients like Italian milled flour and San Marzano tomatoes. We ordered the melanzane and a margherita with pepperoni. The melanzane was fantastic, the fried eggplant slices were so deliciously thin and the pepperoni on the margherita were small crispy rounds--my FAV. I'm sure all the pizzas are amazing, I should've ordered more because I was hoping to have leftovers to take home (too hungry!) Wow, doing the 500th review but surprisingly my first visit. happy to finally head over to Saverio's. While getting a few things next door at A & S, it was an easy wait for takeout. Like others nearby often I didn't realize how serious this cute local pizza shop was and is. They have full access to A&S fresh mozzarella, sauce and other things that make it easy for them to have the best ingredients at all times. Once inside I could see there were good looking artisan pies on the counter for another customer. Taking a cue I went for the same traditional Margarita. This flavorful pizza was good looking, light, crispy, flavorful & slightly chewy. Saw some amazing, creative, artisan looking pies coming out. They have both sit down seating or takeout. Just 12 minutes from me was this highly rated old school spot Saverio's and while it didn't have a super fluffy charred outside airy inside crust, this pie kicked in its own glorious long island way.
