Rudest customer service I have ever experienced! I ordered food from Frank's online at 5:30 pm, clearly during their operating hours. When my sister went to pick the pizza up, the door was open and a man was sitting inside with his shirt off and said they were closed and our pizzas were not made; however, I had been charged. When I went in to explain that I would like to be refunded, I was met with such hostility that I was shocked! The man working basically told me it was not his problem and that it was the third-party's problem and screamed at me to get out of his restaurant. My husband went back to speak to them since I was so upset and the man said he had called the cops on me! I did speak to Door Dash who powered the online ordering service and they said that Frank's could have easily refunded me since they had received my money. (I don't even care about the money at this point!) I am in total disbelief over the treatment I received from this unhinged individual. I wish I had thought to pull out my phone and record him and all of the wild remarks he was making. I will not support his business and will share my experience with everyone I know. read more

My wife ate here every Friday night as a kid growing up in Warwick and for years raved about this place, calling it the best pizza ever. But, you New Yorkers are obsessed, and a bit arrogant with your pizza. Like no one else in the world can make a good pizza? Please. Get over yourselves. I am very upset with my meal for the third time this month. My first Order I only got a large pie, it got to my house and it was raw like literally the dough was not cooked nor was the cheese melted,and I thought maybe Matty is busy. And then I just forgot about it. The second time I spent over 40$ dollars and I got wings a salad and a pie. I could not even eat the wings they were so dry and overcooked , what's funny is my dog wouldn't even eat the wings and my dog eats everything ! The pie was the same as last, totally undercooked.The salad looked like somebody just threw it in the box from across the room. Now this last order from today was horrible I'll start with The girl that took my order , she was great polite courteous gave me a time 40 minutes and a price 35.00 I don't have to ask any questions she just took my order very professionally . So i'm not even 15 minutes into the 40 minute wait I call franks and Matty answers and I ask if my pie was out of the oven yet, because I figured he was slammed that's the only reason why it's going to take 40 minutes to get to my house because I live on west street 5 mins from his restaurant ,but no he says the pizza was on its way .Two minutes later The delivery guys at my door I pay him the $35 plus a five dollar tip 40 bucks. Put down the boxes opened up everything and the pizza is not even cooked ,cheese is not even melted ,the anti-pasta salad looks like somebody threw up-in the box , my mozzarella sticks were frozen in the middle and I have pictures I called back a third time to complain the girl that took my order picked up the phone and I felt bad for her but I didn't want to talk to Matt and she let me vent to her and she was very nice and Matt should value that employee highly. It just makes me upset because I work hard for my money and I didn't want to put my oven on for a reason , I very rarely order out but when I do it's because I don't feel like cooking , this is very upsetting being I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years ! What is the point of ordering out if I have to cook everything once it gets here ?It just makes no sense. Do I want my money back from him? No! I could not come all the way out to NY, and not have any pizza. It almost happened, but Frank's came through for me. It's been over 10 years since I've had NY pizza, that I honestly don't remember what was different about the taste compared to California. So I was anxious to try my first bite. But let me back up a little. The deal on the door advertises 2 pizza's for $20. For a group of 7, we had better do that, right? That's what we thought, until we saw the size of the pizza. It's huge! Plus the special is only for cheese pizza. So we all split a large, or extra large. Honestly, it should be called something larger because it's larger than any pizza I've seen in California. Some friends came in after us, and were interested in a Chicago style pizza. The way he described it like a cake, I wish we had gotten that instead, because after my 3.5 slices, I was still hungry. Opened the door at 12:30 pm and guy behind the counter yells we aren't open yet. Seemed odd, we won't be back. Had a great lunch at Cafe La Mode and awesome ice cream at Bellvale. Home delivery games still a problem. Made up, inconsistent prices, long waits. I generally order the same thing, about $19.26 (with tax) per the menu, Sometimes they accept the order, other times enforce a $20 minimum. In that case I say just round it to $20 (rather than order something I don't want). With delivery, I've been charged from $22 to $26 for that identical order. When I questioned them, "I was told that's with tax and delivery and they hung up." According to their rather cryptic new web site, delivery varies from $2 to $10 on orders from $20 to $100. Looks like 10% to me. I guess delivering 2 pies to me costs twice as much as one, Bigger problem: Last week the delivery took almost 1 1/2 hours (I called after 45 minutes and they said it was just "going out"). When I questioned the deliver guy, he asked how long they estimated. When I told him they hadn't, he said strange, "we're supposed to tell you 35 minutes no matter what". He then explained that I was his 5th stop and he'd been on the road over an hour. When I said "I hope it's still warm" he replied "I doubt it", turned and left. As a child living in Warwick, we always went to Frank's as a family favorite. It still looks the same exact way 20 years later. I was excited to try it again with an adult point of view when I took my BF to pick up some food before going to the drive-in. The food wasn't bad, but what my boyfriend COULD NOT get over was the cleanliness of the place. As a former pizza employee throughout HS and college, he was disgusted by the place and the practices of the employees. Employees were constantly touching other things, then touching the food without washing hands. This is one of the true classic pizza places of all time. The dough is just right, the sauce is zesty, the cheese blend is buttery and the ovens are old and seasoned with the kind of grit and love only a true Sicilian pizza joint can put out. The eggplant, chicken cutlet and meatballs are made in house, the pasta dishes are made fresh to order and the Friday nights are busy after almost 40 years of dough slinging, that says something. The Rinaldi family who run Franks are some of the sweetest, salt of the earth crew you could imagine. Stop by for a plain slice, order a salad and hot wings, the chicken ranch or stramboli are favorites and the shrimp scampi or bacon, tomato, basil pies are to die for. The Italian vegetarian hero is delicious and the rice balls and homemade soups are something special. If you ever get to taste the breakfast pizza that one is also a special treat. Just for the record they are certainly not your up-scale, shi-shi, trying to be something they are not kinda joint. They make pizza- plain and simple and delicious. They also make friends, Mattie the pizza man prophet is deep and decent and loyal. I can't remember learning as much as I did making pie with Matt in any other NY eatery. This is really good pizza. I recommend it! My family and I either eat in or order take out from Frank's nearly every Friday night. We usually get a regular cheese pie and mozzarella sticks. Both are delicious. The pizza is a perfect example of NY style pizza. Really good homemade sauce, great cheese, and really good crust - all baked perfectly. The cheese sticks are also good and lately, we've been ordering a meatball sub for one of my boys. I've discovered their sub roll and the meatballs are also really delicious. How I heard of this place: On our first trip to Warwick in July, our host, Samyar, shared stories of growing up in the town of Warwick. Among these stories was one of his friend, who took over his father's pizzeria; a pizza place that has been in the family for at least three generations! It was closed for the Fourth of July, but on this Thanksgiving weekend, open and bustling with orders. Type of cuisine: Pizza. Specialty pizzas. Calzones. Ambiance: Walking through the brick-lined building's doorway, labeled Frank's-Pizza Restaurant, we were warmly and exuberantly greeted by Frank, himself. His New York accent boasting a hearty welcome to our host, and his long-time friend, Samyar. The single glass door led into a small, dimly lit room along an all-weather red carpet and tiled floors. Simple tables in varnished bamboo or birch wood, accompanied by wooden chairs with dark backs seated a half-dozen high-schoolers laughing, talking and eating their large pizzas. Refrigerators of Snapple and soda beverages to the far right hosted the largest pizza box I have seen to date. Christmas lights lead the way from the right corner to the register in the window cut-out looking into the kitchen. I first noticed the bottom half of walls painted in a deep red with green on the top half of most, but one wall stood out: with a beautiful mural on the entryway wall of what resembles a grand, old Tuscan home with brick top roof and greenery all around. The lights around the kitchen window also lit up the plain, simple, yet full menus overhead, of a number of creative and novel pizza specials, as well as the more traditional and long-loved options. Additional specials were written in black and red marker on paper plates, taped to the bottom of the menu boards. One such sign promoted: "Homemade Rice Balls $3.95 w/ sauce and mozzl cheese". Frank stood just behind the island counter in the center of the large kitchen, tossing pizza dough into the air and then dressing it with sauce, generous handfuls of cheese and toppings. To his left, four, large pizza trays held the slices: cheese, pepperoni, vegetable, and two thick-cut squares of Sicilian pizza. To the left of the register and atop a small refrigerator of soda-gallons, Elmo, dressed in a red and white pizza-doned apron waved happily behind Frosty the Snowman's head. The display case underneath, which I would like to believe, had, once upon a time, hosted a variety of fresh olives and salad sides, was covered with brown paper and the words, "Welcome to Fran's Pizza" handwritten with a red marker. And, of course, no local, home-grown pizza joint is complete without the stacks of white take-away boxes, ready at the wait. What I ordered: Being full from a weekend of non-stop eating, but also feeling the need to sample one of the delicious-smelling slices, I selected the simple cheese pizza ($1.99) and Chris felt the need to try Buffalo Chicken Pizza ($2.65). What I loved: I sampled both, but felt the simplicity and abundance of cheese on my slice outweighed the buffalo chicken. The cheese, gooey and melted, brought out the slightly sweet flavor of the perfectly prepared pizza dough and the light seasonings in the marinara/pizza sauce. Beautiful. Why I loved it: Simple. Honestly the best Pizza I have ever eaten. Make sure you ask for Matt to make your Pie for you. I'm not saying that just because I grew up on Franks Pizza. Thin crust, plenty of cheese, but the key is the home made sauce that they use in their pizza. This place is a staple of Warwick. They have the hometown feel and the owners are more than willing to chat it up with you while you are waiting for your pie to come up. Sometimes when you go into a restaurant presentation of the facility goes a long way in this place misses the mark in that regard and if they're Pizza wasn't any good I think they would be shut down instantly. I work in Warwick. Over the last year, I literally have tried one item on the menu from each category. Not one item was prepared "good", except for the chicken fingers and fries. The pizza was under cooked on top and burned on the bottom. The "cheesesteak" was cut up meatballs covered with mozzarella cheese. The cold cut sub sandwich was a huge loaf of Italian bread and you could not see the meat, lettuce and tomato at all when I opened the wrapper. It had one slice of ham, one slice of salami, one slice of cheese and lettuce pieced together like a puzzle to look like a sheet of paper. Then two slices of thin tomatoes that you could read a newspaper through- and it was drenched soaked soggy with Olive oil and vinegar. The lasagna was inedible- just a container filled with mushy pasta and weak sauce, weakly covered in cheese. I literally do not know how this place stays in business.... and for so long? How do you get people to come back? The food sucks and the employees are ridiculously rude. They use to offer free delivery to local businesses. I even have an employees handwriting saying "mention free delivery to local business" on a menu- but when I ordered my last meal... I was screamed at by a nasty man that told me "Go order from another restaurant! We don't need your f#cking business! We have never offered free delivery to local businesses!" - and he hung up on me.... ? All he had to say was "we do not offer free delivery anymore" and I would have ordered the only thing that they can make right.... chicken fingers and fries. A lot can be said about Frank's but I will simply leave it at this: My family and I ordered a pizza for delivery. We ordered a pizza half and half with different toppings on either side, and ordered about three or four toppings. They charged us $28 and change for a pizza and the pizza arrived an hour and a half later. After the $28+ we still had to leave a tip for the delivery person. The pizza is good but it is not worth over $30. read more
