I kind of wish I ordered something else, but if you like sweets you might like this. I ordered medium but it was more well. My husband had the original filet minon and it was delicious. The outside was nice and crunchy and the inside was juicy. We had asparagus and sautéed mushrooms to share , both were served family style. The side dishes were very good. I was finally able to checkout this place and I'm glad I did! Me and my wife did a last minute dinner here and it turned out great. To start off the entire staff is amazing, everyone is very nice and very helpful. We did not get any appetizers just went straight to the main event which was steaks! I ordered a filet mignon and it was honestly made to perfection!! Hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had. The outside was perfectly cooked and seasoned, I bit on the saltier side but still delicious. I did pick the Au Poirve sauce which was a great selection. The sides are all shareable family style which is great since there's plenty of food to go around for everyone! We got grilled asparagus with garlic which was great and sautéed mushrooms which were beyond excellent. We also did go with our waiters wine recommendations which turned out to be an excellent pairing. My wife got the signature skirt steak with Frank's secret sauce that was a bit on the sweet side which she was not a big fan of but still it was very good. We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When you first walk in through the carved front doors you are greeted with a beautifully decorated room filled with flowers and white lights (see photo). Our waiter provided the most excellent level of service - attentive but not pushy - easily explaining the specials and taking our drink order. After several minutes of relaxation, we were ready to order and decided on the Cajun calamari with remoulade sauce for an appetizer, and the porterhouse steak for two with sautéed spinach for dinner. This location is in Rockville Center is right around the corner from where my wife works on a limited basis. I also live close to Frank's in Jericho. I must really start coming here more often. For the few times I have been here I am happy to say that they DO NOT disappoint. We came one evening for a Kiwanis meeting, which the club regularly holds here. To start with, it's a very easy in and out with a large municipal parking lot. This is a really big restaurant with plenty of seating and rooms. They also have a very large, well stocked bar. A rustic feel with plenty of pictures hanging... Just a very comfortable place to be in. The two restaurants really mirror each other. We came in as part of our Kiwanis Group and shown to our private room and were immediately seated. Our wonderful waiter (unfortunately, I don't remember his name) gave us choices of the evening and took our order. I had the Caesar Salad, Salmon and Chocolate cake. My wife had the skirt steak. Without a doubt everything was PERFECT!!! We came here on account that on Cinco de Mayo all of the Mexican restaurants were full. Upon arrival, the parking lot connected to the restaurant was small and there was a big puddle in the middle. Since we couldn't find parking anywhere else my friend parked in the puddle after letting me out. The greeter was pleasant and we were quickly seated. Water and bread followed. We both ordered the raspberry margarita. They were delicious and well made. We ordered appetizers of calamari with a remolido sauce and a wedge salad. The calamari was a little over-cooked for my taste and the sauce provided a different flare. Our entrees were the Petite Skirt Steak and Shrimp stuffed with crabmeat. My friend enjoyed her shrimp meal. The skirt steak has a unique marinade with a sweet taste. The steak was properly prepared, medium rare and it was very tender. I am not sure I liked the sweet marinade infused into the steak. But that more preference than criticism. The ambiance was good with a little dated feel. There was a table that had a huge chandelier over it, close down to the table. That table for 8 was empty so not sure how the proximity would impact patrons, but it was old in style. Nothing very memorable about the interior that stuck out. The service was great. We were quickly provided bread and water and our server was very helpful in explains the conversation side red selections. The food came out at a good pace but we didn't feel like it was rushed and pre-prepared. Frank's is ONE of my favorite steakhouses and I usually always leave happy, but my last visit there was subpar. First and foremost, my Peppercorn Ribeye tasted bland and the Au Jus gravy was extremely watery and also tasteless. The waiter recommended the "Frank's home fries" because I mentioned that I wanted to try something new, but it was horrible. Dry, hard and tasteless..sent it back for some delicious mashed potatoes with the bomb gravy that I normally get. On a good note, our waiter was superb! Personality thru the roof..he checked on us frequently and made us laugh! Also, our drinks were very tasty and did its job! Made a reservation at Frank's for my boyfriend's birthday dinner, and the overall experience was just underwhelming and a bit disappointing. After reading through reviews of Frank's, we decided to come here with hopes of finding a new go-to steakhouse. We were seated promptly when we arrived, & they started us off with some bread & butter (which were deliciously soft and very much appreciated). We ordered the baked clams, french onion soup, cowboy rib steak, bone-in filet mignon, french fried onions, and the potato puffs. I'm guilty of overordering, but we really wanted to have a full experience! Starting with the apps - the baked clams were quite nice & tasty. French onion soup had great flavor as well, but it was also INCREDIBLY salty. Even when eating it with the cheese & crouton, we felt like we were sodium overloaded with every sip of the broth. Delicious, but needs a little watering down. As for the sides - get the fried onions and potato puffs. These were quite tasty. The steaks are really where I was most disappointed. Firstly, & to be fair, the filet mignon was incredibly tender and the temperature was perfect - that I have to give to them. But it was incredibly bland??? There wasn't much flavoring encrusting the steak, and the garlic butter barely offered anything additional. The second steak was really where it went south; I ordered the cowboy rib steak and was given the peppercorn steak. I'm not sure where the miscommunication occured, but the waiter insisted I ordered the peppercorn even though I didn't. We didn't want to have to wait longer for the corrected order though, so figured the peppercorn ribeye couldn't be THAT bad - how could a ribeye be bad? Oh, I discovered a ribeye can be incredibly mediocre. Again, there really wasn't much seasoning or flavor from the steak. The au jus was incredibly watered, and if there was any semblance of a sear on the ribeye, it was defeated by the au jus. Also the roasted tomato really did not add anything for me. Given the "miscommunication" between the steaks and the sides (our sides weren't delivered until we asked, and he seemed incredibly confused even though he repeated back my order initially), we were comped a dessert. Kudos to them for trying to make things right in the end, but still a confusing and disappointing dining experience. Ambiance inside is typical for an older steakhouse - a bit aged but cozy. Prices are decent - our dinner came out to around $200 before tax & tips. I'm not sure how I feel about returning; might come back to give it another go, but I'm not rushing to come back anytime soon. read more

Despite an 8pm reservation, which we were 5 min early for, we waited 50 min to be seated. Waited 10 to even talk to someone. Reservation for 5, tried to seat is at a table for 4. Waited another 10 for a big enough table. Waited an additional 15 with no waiter until I finally loudly complained. Hostess and wait staff were pleasant and working VERY hard. French Onion Soup was warm, not hot. Made the cheese like rubber and hard to get through. Crostini was mush. Not great. Ceasar salad was nice, fresh dressing, but basic. Most of the table ordered steak. All ordered medium rare, all undercooked. Mine (special bone in filet) was mooing. Barely warm near the bone, I had no choice but to send it back. They put the same steak back on the fire and brought back to me, well over cooked. Paid for a 12oz filet and enjoyed 6oz of it. One person got their jumbo shrimp and risotto entree. Shrimp were mushy and the risotto was a salt bomb. Appetizers and drinks came out fast, we waited 45 min or so for the entrees. 8p reservation and we were finishing dinner at 11pm. At this point, kitchen was closing. There were only 2 other tables still eating in the entire place. They offered us a "to-go" desert platter (hinting that we had to leave). I was stunned and declined. It's a 2 star food night, extra star for the hard working staff, fantastic holiday decor, and our waiter that took the drinks off the bill. No extra points for the owner/manager's slurred worded apology and excuse that "tables weren't leaving fast enough" on our way out. We had to wait a half hour for the buffet to open and the food was ice cold. They charged my 10 year old as an adult. The waiter, who only came to our table once, wrote in 3 different places on the check that a $56 tip was expected (brunch was $60 per person). I paid by credit card and was charged more so I left the tip in cash. When I reviewed my credit card bill, the restaurant added an additional $31 to the bill that was not authorized. We had the 24 oz "supposedly prime" rib steak. This steak was likely not even "choice." It was difficult to cut. It was difficult to chew. It had no flavor at all. In fact, it had no taste at all. Ate two slices then wrapped it to go literally for "the dog." The filet mignon was dry, not a quality piece of meat and also wrapped to go. The skirt steak was the best of all the steaks; yet, it was not very good either. The quality of the beef was not steakhouse quality. Prior to having our dinner, we had an appetizer of the bacon slab with pineapple. The slab was very thick and I don't know what they intended to do to the slice of pineapple but it was dry and flavorless. Very difficult to do that! Had a side of creamed spinach. That was not bad. Foolishly, we had a slice of rainbow cake for dessert. It was dry and without flavor. All in all this meal was a disaster. So sorry we spent money on this awful dinner. I started with some delicious little neck baked clams and my honey had the French onion soup which he thoroughly enjoyed. Service lacked slightly but not enough worth elaborating on.
