I have yet to find another place that has sweet potato fries as crispy as at press195. the service is mediocre at best and basically non existent. we walked in at noon on a Sunday. the place was empty maybe 4 tables. the very young cashier and hostess chose to seat us (2 people) right at the entrance of the back room, small table against the wall when the entire dining room was empty. how lame. of course i spoke up. the young staff needs hospitality training! .. the waiter took our order. pleasant and courteous. food came drink came but never saw him again until check time. no one asked if we like another ice tea or refill our water. it's all fine but then you tip the standard 20% and wonder what service that gets you..well not even the most basic of water refill.. read more

The boys get their hair cut in Lynbrook. This means we usually take the day for a family outing and make a point to visit one of our favorite spots from when we lived in Nassau or we make a point in trying new spots out. I knew Press 195 and am in love with their Bayside location. They have a solid menu including their notorious knish sandwiches and the amazing hand cut fries. This spot has one of my favorite fries, but what really does it for me is the dipping sauces. The garlic mayo and pineapple sesame are what you need to get when ordering their 3 sauce medley. Use the 3rd sauce to get something that works for you, but don't just fall back on the ketchup. These fries deserve more than that. As per our servers recommendation, I got the #2. It had turkey, Brie, roasted peppers and garlic mayo. It was the most amazing pressed sandwich. Shout out for some amazing ciabatta bread. My husband got the brisket knish sandwich, and he was comforted by the heavy meal. The kids meal was just a legit as out meals. Coming with apple slices which definitely scored points with Bubs. Restaurant sports bar vibes. The restaurant was very big which was great because there was space for the baby. They had high chairs which was amazing and lots of space. This helped us have a more peaceful meal. The panini was very flavorful just wish it had a little bit more steak. My husband enjoyed the sandwich too. They had a great beer selection. Our server I believe Tess was her name was super nice and kept coming by checking on us to see how everything was and if we needed anything. I got the grilled chicken panini with mozzarella and roasted red peppers. The sandwich was everything I wanted and hope for! Who doesn't like a warm pressed sandwich? I got the smoking gun and it was so good. I'm impressed with the kids chicken tenders meal, it came with three chicken tenders, sliced apples, and chips. The chicken tenders were so crispy! Came here for the lunch. They do have a lunch menu, but I decide to order a whole sandwich instead with a house salad. Service was good. Very cute inside. Very big lots of bread though, the seasoned fries and sauces are a hit. Sometimes the bread can get pretty tough. Today I had the special which was a burger and it was surprisingly not that much bread! Pretty good in terms of ratio just needed some more spice or kick and salt! Inside: lots of space, even on the weekends we were able to get seated quickly. This was a positively awesome sandwich. Came here after landing at JFK. Was looking for a good place for lunch that had vegetarian options and was on the way to our destination. While their vegetarian options did not contain any proteins like tofu or tempeh, they were also very interesting and I thought my wife would like it. Also, and importantly, they had a gluten free option for their sandwiches for me. I got the #18, which was grilled chicken, re onions, black bean hummus, cilantro, buffalo sauce, jack and cheddar, and pressed. This sandwich was excellent. I was actually surprised it was so good since gluten free breads tend to detract from flavor, but the bread was great and the black bean hummus cilantro and buffalo sauce was an incredible combination. I realize that's a lot of hyperbole but the sandwich was that good. As for the vegetarian sandwich, whichever one my wife ordered she loved. And we split fries too and the fries were fantastic. I had press 195 in my bookmarks for awhile but for some reason I thought it was more of a grab and go place . Very happy I gave it a whirl last week and dined in . It looks tiny from the outside but it's actually pretty big , lots of tables , space in between them so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of one another . When you first enter there is a full bar to the left where you can also sit . Service was good , very friendly . The menu is HUGE ! I decided to go with a steak sandwich , it did not disappoint. The steak was tender , cooked to perfection and amazing flavors . The Belgian fries are out of this world and they have a bunch of different dipping sauces . This is a cute little spot. Not necessarily a vibe place but great if you're ever in the area and looking for somewhere to go for lunch. This was my first time dining in but not my first time ordering from here since my mom was a frequent customer of Press 195 for their salads. I remembered the salads being delicious but had not had one before this day in a very long time. On this day we ordered the Presstones which were not very tasty at all. You could hardly taste the plantain and the meat(along with the other toppings-cheese and a sauce) had a bit of an after taste. Our waiter Phil was nice enough to accommodate our distaste. We ordered the Mediterranean Salad (chopped) and the Avocado Salad (not chopped). We got a side of caramelized walnuts which we added to both salads. The salads were delicious and very filling. They have a ton of stuff very large menu , I've only taken out the sandwiches & sweet potato fries which are delicious ! This is a go to place to get delicious paninis or knishes! Came here recently with my parents and service was great. Not to mention the zucchini sticks as an app were amazing and the fries are always a staple. Many options of paninis to chose from.
