The beef döner wrap is so delicious. It's not soggy like average wraps. The wrap is a bit crispy and the meat inside, (I get beef) with sauce and cabbage. Absolutely delicious and huge portion. Definitely eat it for 2 meals and a snack. But most people finish it in a seating. French fries are a nice portion and tasty added touch. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but based on my friend's recommendation and majority of Yelp reviews I expected this place to be good but it was terrible. Walked into the restaurant, no one at the counter or to greet you. There were three other patrons inside at 3 PM. I ordered on the kiosk, the options are a box a wrap, or a sandwich. Beef or chicken. You can add feta for a dollar and chili flakes for 25¢. $1 for extra white sauce or spicy sauce. I ordered the beef wrap $12.50. The wrap was a decent size not huge, the meat was dry and salty. White sauce was very thin, nothing like a tzatziki. Very disappointed. read more

It was a Sunday afternoon and our first time trying a Doner Haus location and it happens to be this Bayside location which looks inviting from the outside but opened the door and the 2 male staff kept looking at their cell phones without even acknowledging our presence. Not even a smile or "Hi". So we ordered using their Kiosk while they were glued to there phones in silence. There is no music in the store only silence as the 2 staff don't even chat to each other. Very strange and unwelcoming to customers. Then suddenly there is an audible sound - our order from the kiosk beeps and prints out. One staff gets off his phone and puts on gloves starting to make our wrap. When done he gives the wrap to his coworker without saying a word and then this staff walks over to the counter to call my name out. I walk over he hand it to me and doesn't say any other words not even a slight smile. I find the napkins myself and we proceed to sit on the side to eat our wrap in silence only speaking to ourselves. 2 other separate customers come in while we eat and it's the same lack of customer service. A third customer walks in takes a look for a minute and same then he walks out. The wrap itself tasted great, the veggies fresh seasoned and go well together, the chicken was a bit on the skimpy side but overall I enjoyed it. The customer service or lack thereof was one of the worst experiences I've come across even being a NYer all my life. My fiancé was really annoyed at their lack of care the moment we walked in and during our time there. I dont think we will patronize this location again. It's a very bad impression. read more

BLUF: Great value, somewhat over-salted. Döner Haus in Bayside is focused on döner, in either beef or chicken, and three forms -- sandwich, box, or wrap. We've visited a few times for their döner sandwiches. The pita pocket is not too bready, each sandwich has generous portions of meats and veggies. While the sandwich is tasty, we find the meats to be slightly over-salted. $12.99 ($14.14 with tax) for a sandwich of this size in this era of price inflation is a great value. We tried the honey baklava once, and found it skippable. While some counter-style seating is available, the restaurant is mainly geared towards take-out orders. read more

There are kebab joints in NY already, but this one screams out with its advertising and simple menu. I ordered their famous kebab sandwich with their chicken version via their website and the order was ready within 10 minutes of the order being made. The exterior shows off great vibes and gives a cool ambiance to Bell Blvd. Since this primarily a takeout and delivery joint, I took my kebab sandwich home for dinner. This sandwich is one of the better kebab sandwiches you can get in the five boroughs and the garlicky white sauce really gives the sandwich a kick along with the perfectly seasoned chicken kebab. I am definitely going to be ordering from them again and it's worth taking the LIRR or bus to get here. read more

Love this new addition to Bayside! I really enjoyed the doner sandwich with chicken and beef. The meat was very flavorful and there was enough of it in every bite. I loved the white sauce, as well as the crunch and tang of the pickled cabbage. Next time I definitely will opt out of the pide and go for a wrap because eating this was an absolute disaster. I had half my sandwich on the table by the end of the meal! I enjoyed the food a lot but I did have to wait quite a bit for it. read more

One of their to-go bowls has no gluten if you ask for no pita and 51g or so of protein. That's basically the food I'm preferring. It's tasty and I've been there twice. One I picked is served on lettuce salad. Attached is a list of allergens. Service was fast yet food was warm. I really dislike it when food looks lukewarm and sitting there for hours exposed to air but this place so far seems to keep standards high. read more

I've also tried the sandwich at their NYC location, and the flavor was pretty much the same. It just depends on whether you prefer a wrap or sandwich bread. Personally, I found the wrap easier to eat. The place is small inside with only a few seats, so it's more of a quick-eat or takeout spot. I'll definitely be coming back for a to-go order! read more

We ordered lunch and I was pleasantly surprised at the portions. My daughter and i shared a chicken wrap and doner fries with chicken and beef. The wrap was wrapped very nicely and filled with meat and veggies. The only thing missing was sauce but luckily my daughter was smart enough to order one one the side. They do charge extra for sauce and pepper flakes. The chicken was well seasoned and tender. The lettuce was crisp and just a little bit of red onions made the sandwich really good. The French fries might have been a better option to have there. The way it was packaged was not good. They fill the box then force it close which made the fries a bit crushed and soggy with the meat and sauce on top. It was a hefty portion and filled with meat. Think next we will skip this unless we eating there and have more than 2 people to share with. The salad bowl also looks good and I will try that next time. read more

The sandwhiches here are really good! They're full flavor and ingredients. They do not skimp out on the meat and vegetables at all. One sandwhich is enough for 2 meals for my husband and I. The packaging is also really nice with the paper wrap then foil wrap and then a box to keep everything neatly in place. Glad we gave this place try. Went with my husband today and got the doner box with fries while he got the doner beef sandwich. Both were amazing and exceeded our expectations!! Fries are well seasoned, thin and crispy. Went for their grand opening promo and it was truly a terrible experienced. Got there at about 755 and was told by someone at the end of the line that they were going to have no more food. This was really disappointing because I came out special to check the spot out and it was advertised that from 6 to 9 they were going to have a grand opening celebration with dollar sandwiches. When I walked into the store to ask what was going on the managers said pretty much said that's too bad. Crazy answer as a lot of people that came out and we're going to be disappointed. So he handed me a coupon for 10% off. I had asked if you could just honor the dollar sandwich in the future because we came well before nine to get the promotion from like a half hour away as there was traffic. He explained that they can't give dollar sandwiches every day because that's not the way it works. I said you're not giving dollar sandwiches everyday. You are honoring a promotion that you misplayed as you ran out of food for well in advance of the 9 o'clock time. Well anyways he wasn't really accommodating. And in my opinion he handled the situation terribly. It looks like they're gonna disappoint a lot of people and the whole experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

We thought we'd try this new Bayside restaurant. At first I was confused about its Halal (?) offerings because it has such an echt German name. Though it's a chain, because it has operated in the East Village and in Astoria, two generally fine food neighborhoods, we thought we'd give it a try. It was not a good experience. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a beef wrap, french fries and their "Turkish" Baklava dessert. I put "Turkish" in quotes because what they served, two dime sized pieces, bore little relation to the multi-textured, honey tasting real thing. The sandwich was in the form of a panini, which we appreciated. However, though the menu description and pictures speak of several different vegtables in the sandwich and wrap, the only thing we could see and taste was just cabbage. And it was far too much cabbage as compared to the protein. There was too much salt content in each, and so much salt content in the wrap, that we had to throw most of it away. For anyone in Bayside who likes this genre of food, as we do, there is usually a Halal truck on Bell Blvd. near the train station that serves really good food. The french fries were to my eyes and taste indistinguishable from those at McDonald. We enjoyed these more than the other food. The restaurant scene at Bayside, which has been historically pretty good, is getting even better lately as people move from Flushing to Bayside. IMO there is very little space in this neighborhood therefore for a chain serving food of this mediocrity. read more

Also only had one slice of tomato in the entire sandwich. Definite messy to eat. Fries were cold at pick up, average otherwise.
