I was served pork ribs that were not edible the second time I visited. They had the texture of shoe leather. I'm not sure how the cook could even think of serving what I was given. There's no way I'd come back again.

Danny's Grill is my go to spot when I'm craving well cooked ribs and not dry chicken. The food is consistently delicious, and there's a solid variety of options to choose from. My usual order is the whole chicken and a full rack of ribs with four sides. I find that it's the perfect combo if you're hungry or sharing. The meats are all cooked over an open flame grill so you get the smokey grilled flavor. The mac and cheese is always cheesy and the "roasted" potatoes are seasoned well and soft, easily two of my favorite sides. The real standout is the green sauce. I don't know what it's really called or what's in it, but it's super flavorful and goes with everything. When I say I put it in everything, I put that on everything. The atmosphere is extremely casual inside, and the service is pretty decent. Staff is friendly and efficient. Just note that seating inside is limited, so if you're with a group or going during peak hours, be prepared to wait or consider takeout. If you're looking for hearty, flavorful food with generous portions, Danny's Grill definitely hits the mark.

The comparison to Chicken Lover's is inevitable because I'm pretty sure Danny used to work at Chicken Lover's and decided to open his own place. The menu is pretty much the same, offering grilled chicken and ribs, along with other menu items. I know Chicken Lover's pared down their menu by a lot, concentrating on chicken and ribs because their business was booming, but Danny's has retained a lot of the old menu with burgers, chicken nuggets & wings. Now they have expanded to offering grilled meat skewers, good for quick snacking. But we come mainly for the grilled chicken and ribs and we usually get the Large Family Meal, which is a whole grilled chicken and a whole rack of barbecued ribs, accompanied by 4 large side dishes and 2 pitas. For a small family like us, we have a lot of leftovers for the week. The chicken is smoky in flavor and the ribs are coated in BBQ sauce. To round out the meal, we get broccoli, mac & cheese, niblet corn and our favorite, the savory rice. Sometimes we'll double up on the rice because it's just that good. Don't forget the spicy green sauce. I like to drizzle it on the white meat chicken and wrap it up in pita bread. Danny's is just way more convenient than Chicken Lovers because it's slightly closer to us and there is always plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot in back. Plus their service is way faster and ordering on-line is so much easier.

The food here is really good, you get option of choosing grilled or fried chicken. You can also choose barbecue ribs which is delicious also!

    Chicken with blood.

I tried to peel off the skin and eat the meat, but there was blood everywhere, so I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. I like breast meat, so I cut it open and it was a mess. I used to order grilled chicken somewhere else, but since it's close to my house, I started ordering again, but the taste is different from the first time, and I wonder how they sell food that comes out undercooked. I paid a lot of money through Uber, and I can't even eat half of it. I didn't mind the side order because it was just vegetables, but if the main chicken is like this, I'll change my mind. I'm curious to know what other people thought.

The breaded shrimps were good. The tartar sauce that came with it is very tasty. It took a little while but it was worth it.

I'm a huge fan of Chicken Lovers so when I saw Danny's Grill opened and the menu was very similar, I knew I had to try it out. Since it's not as popular yet, the service is much faster. You can also order ahead of time for pick up, which is what I usually do and it's basically ready when they say it is, unlike Chicken Lovers which often gets backed up and my order gets delayed. The most popular items here are the grilled chicken and ribs, which is similar to Chicken Lovers. Even their sides are very similar. In terms of taste, I've recently started to prefer Danny's Grill more because their meats are very tender, even the breast! Meanwhile, Chicken Lovers has gotten inconsistent and can sometimes be dry. The chicken was nicely charred and flavorful but not too salty. Their ribs are also has just the right amount of bbq sauce, it can be annoying when it's too saucey. The sides are very comparable to Chicken Lovers. I love getting the rice. It's so flavorful and goes so well with the meats. I've also tried their other sides like the broccoli, corn, mashed potatoes, and baked potatoes but there's so much more on the menu! They're all pretty good, but the mac & cheese isn't creamy enough for me and their fries were very underwhelming and needs seasoning. The green sauce is my favorite part of ordering from both here and Chicken Lovers. It's so flavorful and I put it on everything! Pairs so well with all the meats, delicious on the sides, perfect with the pita, can be used for anything and everything. The best deal is to get the family combo but their prices are pretty reasonable overall. I've already been back several times and even though there are a few seats inside, I always prefer to take it to go which they pack it up nicely.

We ordered from here a few times. They have good moist chicken and juicy fall-off-the-bone ribs. Sides are also good.

Too Good To Go app. deal.

i came here for the 1st time thanks to the "Too Good to Go" app. I got a deal that was about $6.50 with the tax. They give you random selections of their food for the price. I got small ribs, a grilled chicken thigh, corn and mashed potatoes. I thought their ribs and chicken were really tasty and cooked perfectly. the sides were not impressive. They were not horrible. Seemed like instant potatoes and canned corn. I would come back to check out the rest of the menu

Perfect quick lunch. Two ribs and a chicken thigh can't go wrong with that. Pick up was a lot quicker than usual too!

Half chicken (left), half rack of ribs (right): Take-out. $32.99 with 2 large sides (not shown).

BLUF: Decent roasted chicken and BBQ ribs; great green sauce. 3.5 out of 5 stars. There are many places in Queens that serve roasted chicken and BBQ ribs -- usually well-seasoned at top layers, but often flavorless underneath, where seasoning hasn't penetrated. Green sauce is the common solution to this problem. Danny's Grill has a great green sauce, and gives a generous amount of it with one's order. Food: Decent (3.5 of 5). We find that Bayside Chicken Lovers' chicken and ribs are more tender and moist, but their green sauce is not as good as Danny's Grill. However, Danny's Grill is open on Sundays. Prices have gone up, like everywhere else. Our last order in early February 2023, for 1/2 chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs, and two large sides cost $32.99; or $35.88 with tax. Other: Cafeteria-style seating is available, though it seems most orders are for take-out. There is a 3% surcharge for credit / debit card use.

    Oil grease

First time here and wanted to give a good review because the people that worked there were chill but the flavor was just bad. The chicken was so chewy , bony , and oily so much so , that the oil leaked and gushed out the plastic bag it came in when I ordered pick up. Nasty. Also the broccoli had no flavor just cheap water steam. On top of that the chicken had many areas inside it was very pink and even red. I don't trust eating it especially combined with the highly oily weird flavor so I had to take it off. The bread they gave was dry and flavorless and the green sauce everyone said was "so good" was just regular green sauce any halal cart or Mexican spot also has. Nothing special. Price isn't high but it's not cheap either. I wouldn't come back.

    Mac and cheese

*UPDATE REVIEW* TLDR Meat - Ribs are one of the best, if not the best ribs I've had in the bayside area. Outer is actually crispy? With the inside being firm but juicy. Better than chicken lovers due to their ribs being oddly soft or mushy sometimes. Chicken was also solid with great flavors Sides - very underwhelming, almost at a point where we might not order them and just make the sides ourselves. Rice tastes like it's just rice and oil, cucumber salad had no flavor where we had to add vinegar, sugar, lemon juice and herbs to somewhat recreate the salad. All this to say, sides are wizack. Their meat is honestly their saving grace for a 4 star. It's almost like they went all in on the meat and totally neglected the sides.

The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. Overall, the food descriptions felt more impressive than the actual execution, though the to-go fries portion was more generous, which was a nice surprise. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe for a casual visit with a few beers and fries with an assortment of dipping sauces...I am a sucker for those.

Staff greeting and welcoming you with a warm smile when you walked in. Ordered at the counter, would take 10-15 min to make the sandwich. Ambiance wise = Love the hipster comic-styled wallpaper. Super genuine staff and great service as well. Can pay with cash or card, but there's a small service fee being charged for card. Besides getting the Angry Nonna Sandwich ($15.50), also ordered the regular fries that came with spicy mayo ($6.53) + a Krave It pineapple pop soda ($3.96) to wash everything down. Staff brought everything to the table even though it was only self serve. 1) Angry Nonna Sandwich: The mildly spicy sauce was delicious and savory. Chicken parm was seasoned well and not salty. Bread could've been a little more crunchy imo. Portion size was plentiful and definitely enough for a full meal. 2) Regular Hand Cut Fries: So many widely-cut fries and more fries than I'd imagined for a single order. Worth it! Size wise was like those halal rice platter in aluminum foil container. I got full midway but still finished the whole thing. Fries were definitely freshly prepared and made. Could've been just a little bit more crispier. Spicy mayo was the perfect sauce to dip the fries in. 3) Krave It Pineapple Soda: Refreshing to taste with the sandwich & fries. Don't need a bottle opener to pop off the sodas. Just need to twist it off yourself. Easily done! Their sodas are made of cane sugar. The fizziness felt good against the back of my throat. I plan to keep going back whenever I'm in the area by myself or with friends. Would recommend this spot to other Yelpers, family and friends. They're opened to late hours everyday. Lastly, don't forget to tip the hardworking staff working there!
