Love me some Fratellis. Recently went for a late Sunday lunch. We started with the fried mozz which was great as always. With entrees you get a salad and you have to go with their house Italian. Fratelli's is beautiful, classy, warm, and welcoming. There is an elegance, yet relaxed feel to this restaurant. My husband and I were in Milford shopping and we were looking for good italian food, and boy did we find it! We ordered an appetizer of the fried mozzarella which was tasty. Then for our entrees my husband ordered the chicken parmigiana and I got the shrimp and scallop alla vodka. My husband said the chicken was so tender and good, a portion large enough that he took half home with him. And my dish was so decadent in flavor, the seafood was so fresh and the pasta, perfection! Came to Fratelli's to celebrate a friend's birthday last night and really enjoyed my experience here. It was busy upon entering and I understand why, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. My fiancé and I got the brussel sprouts that were on special as our starter and they were fabulous, perfectly crispy, plenty of bacon in a delicious hot honey sauce. I got the penne alla vodka as my main course and it was phenomenal, one of the best I've had! Second time coming here and was pleased. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The waters on the table were always full. To drink I ordered the strawberry mojito which tasted nice and fresh muddled with some TLC (some people might like their cocktail in a more fancy glass I personally don't mind as long as it tastes good, which it did!) I did ask if the salad that came with the entree had carrots bc I have a carrot allergy and I was told it didn't, but it did so I couldn't eat the salad. For my entree, I got the gluten free penne Ala vodka with added chicken. The flavor of the sauce was excellent, even when I was full I couldn't put the fork down. The gluten free pasta was cooked just right, couldn't even tell it was gluten free. Delicious. My only note would have been I wish there was more chicken in the dish. They have an outdoor seating area as well during the warmer months. Overall, I enjoyed the food and experience! I will definitely be back. Five years in the area and finally tried Fratelli's, and they might be our new favorite! We got a great table on a busy Saturday night; service was excellent and the food was so yummy! I rarely eat fried food, but both the eggplant tower and chicken Milanese were so light and crispy! Saturday night, early reservations. We were on-time for our reservation and seated immediately. Food was good. This post is about the service we had. I don't think we were rushed through a meal that fast ever before. The servers stood there and watched us eat. The mains were delivered to the table before the salads were finished and they bussed on dinners plate while the other was still eating. Honestly, the food is not that good that we would need to rush back there any time soon. Another great night at Fratelli's - Milford, CT This was our fourth visit to Fratelli's, and it continues to deliver. We started with the wedge salad, which sounds simple on paper but was anything but. Crisp iceberg, a rich blue cheese that actually tasted like blue cheese, and bacon that somehow turned iceberg lettuce into heaven -- not an easy feat. Cocktails were excellent. My wife had a blueberry lemonade that she absolutely loved, and I went with an Old Fashioned that was perfectly balanced. Liz behind the bar consistently makes great cocktails, and last night was no exception. For dinner, I had the halibut piccata over spinach. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of bright, clean flavor. The fish was delicate, the piccata sauce was just right, and honestly... there was no chance of leftovers. None. My wife ordered the eggplant rollatini. Portions were generous, and she happily brought half home -- which tells you everything you need to know. She called it divine, and I believe her. Our server, Matt, was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and paced the meal perfectly without ever hovering. Service like that really elevates the whole experience. Warm atmosphere, thoughtful food, generous portions, and consistently solid execution. Fratelli's has become one of those places we keep coming back to -- and recommending. Came here for my birthday dinner, my sister chose this spot because she thought they had pizza but that was their other location. I was disappointed in the chicken scarpiello, the spice level was low and the pasta serving was skimpy. My sister said her chicken parmesan was good. I believe our server could have been more attentive, waited long for dessert and to go containers etc. Every one loved the deserts, they sang me happy birthday when they brought it out. I wouldn't want to come here again because there's too many other Italian restaurants I like better. read more

Ok, we have come back and come back often and we have grown fond of the bar, the staff and the food. I am still a fan of the class casino and still say it s one of the best I have had. My wife has discovered their off menu items of spaghetti or ravioli with meatballs. I am a fan of the Veal..anyway they make it.sometimes I like the classic piccatta. I was a fan when we first came here but was over whelmed with Covid. Now, I appreciate the family atmosphere and welcome when we enter. Past experiences were great. Last couple visits were lacking. Sat at the bar with my wife for apps and drinks. As we sat the bartender directed us to other seats than what we chose. She was coralling everyone who came in leaving wide open spaces. Even a single woman was directed to sit in between two strangers rather than the seat she selected. She was visibly uncomfortable. Last visit was even worse. Had reservations with family members. Confirmed our presence with hostess. After watching large walk in groups seated addressed it with the hostess. She responded"with a full mouth of food" we're working on it. After another 20-25 minutes asked hostess again. She said nothing ,walked into the dining room and proceeded to stare and point at us while speaking to a waiter. We ended up leaving after another 10 minutes of being ignored. I literally could not believe the way it was being handled. Probably won't be back. Food isn't good enough to justify another visit. read more

We came here for my birthday this week because I have never had a bad experience or meal here and because the food is so good (and so is the Woodford Old Fashioned). I am happy to report that, once again, we were not disappointed. Harris took care of us this evening. We opened with a cuppa di mussels and meatballs appetizers. I had the lamb shank special with risotto. Wife had a New England clam chowder and lobster pappardelle, and friends had a variety of pastas. Everyone's dish was delicious and well-plated. Every time I think it's going to be better and it's worse. Took my neighbor for an early dinner at 5PM! I repeat 5PM! Firstly the bread that was placed on the table was clearly from the day before.. it was ROCK HARD! We couldn't break it apart- it was that hard. We decided to have the Chilean Sea Bass special. The waiter takes our order only to return and say they ran out. Ran out? You only opened 20 minutes ago? We ordered a calamari starter which was cold and over fried in old oil producing a rancid flavor. We went on to order shrimp scampi over pasta which was so overcooked- the shrimp like rubber and the pasta like paste. The lobster ravioli was terribly over cooked and absolutely swimming in a gelatinous sauce. Overall another awful meal. Definitely striking this one off the return list. read more

When you come to a town for a weekend, Yelp can be your friend. Picked this place for dinner based on reviews, an extensive menu, and proximity. A one and done for me. We were seated promptly, but immediately recognized how LOUD the restaurant was! Hard to relax with the noise. Mussels, Basil Gnocchi and Shrimp/Scallop Penne were our entrees. Reports of the mussels in white sauce were good. The shrimp (3)/Scallop (3) sauce was very bland to me and overwhelmed the penne. The gnocchi was chewy. In addition, the wait staff must be rewarded for clearing the table while dining. I had asked to keep my salad, but then another staff came and moved my salad fork and picked up my salad before I could stop them. At that point I didn't want it back. At least 2 maybe 3 times one of us was asked if we were done. Pet peeve of mine, couldn't they just clear after we are all finished? When paying, my credit card wasn't returned, and luckily I asked for it. Apparently it was "stuck in the machine." The place was packed at 6pm on a Friday night. Clearly there are some regulars that like this place, I just wasn't one of them. read more

This is a restaurant located in a small strip mall off the beaten path. Most people outside of the area know nothing about it, but if you know you know. It's literally one of my favorite restaurants in the area! Many locals enjoy the bar scene and the restaurant which has expanded over the years is packed on the weekends. Last night my wife and I went to Fratelli's to enjoy the scene. We started our night off with cocktails. I had the Kentucky Mule, bourbon, ginger beer and lime. It was quite good! The fresh bread with oil and or butter was hot and fresh. For appetizers we shared the Calamari, which was both tender and crispy. They even bread and fry ip some cherry peppers and mix them in. For our entrees I ordered the seafood combination which is mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp and calamari over linguini (white or red) in a red sauce. The bowl was overflowing and delicious. My wife ordered the chicken Milanese. The serving took up the whole plate! It was enough for two people, but more importantly, it was delicious! The place is great, but there are some small issues that you need to navigate. The parking lot cannot accommodate the capacity of the building so many times you have to park at other businesses on either side of the property. Reservations are encouraged, as the bar is not huge and there really isn't a comfort waiting area. Other than that, this hidden gem is worth it! read more

Tried this restaurant with friends. It's kind of off the beaten path in Milford. PARKING - located in a small strip mall there is just enough parking when all the other stores are closed. We came early so beware ENTRANCE - very polite host and seated quickly. AMBIANCE- very nice rustic Italian decor with great pictures of Italian scenery. Tables with white table cloths are very classy but you don't need to dress up. There aree about 20 or so tables so better make a reservation MENU - largely classic Italian dishes SERVICE- waiter was very nice but not very engaging. The bus services great and friendly but you fell a little rushed Appetizers- I had the clams casino prepared with peppers, bacon and a white wine sauce would have been excellent but slightly over baked in the oven ENTREES- come with a salad that was super fresh. I tried the veal Marsala with mixed reviews. The veal was great and tender. The mushrooms were spectacular. Alas the Marsala sauce was super dark and in all earnest I've had much better. DESSERT- didn't indulge so let me know my yelpers PRICE - I was treated so I don't have all the details. However most appetizers were about $10 and most entrees were about $20. I've always been really pleased with the food, drinks, service and ambiance here. It's a little pricy but that's ok because we save it for date nights. I like the lighting so it's perfect for that. Traditional Italian fare with a lovely outdoor patio. I usually go for the specials when I visit. If you catch the veal chop special get it! On New Years Eve I was craving pasta so badly and went to Fratelli's by the recommendation of a friend; what a treat! The restaurant is inviting, with beautiful porch lights illuminating its entry way! The people here are so friendly, while dining at the bar I met several dedicated local regulars who loved sharing info on their favorite dishes and desserts (family recipe lemon cake, sea bass and Espresso Martini are some that I recall!) I went with chicken francese over penne, and selected their gluten free penne pasta option to see what it was like. Every aspect of my dish was absolutely phenomenal, the pasta was delicious and the flavors were all perfectly balanced! The lovely couple sitting across the way from me at the bar ordered the highly recommended lemon cake, a recipe created by the owners mother, and called me over to take some snapshots of their cake! They, as well as 2 other couples, raved over the Espresso Martini and how each espresso martini is made individually with fresh made espresso!
