Compared to other Italian places in New Haven, this one isn't as authentic but we enjoyed it overall. We tried several dishes. The bread was delicious. They bring an assortment of bread like focaccia with sundried tomatoes and stuffed knots with little pepperoni and sour dough. The salads a little heavy on the dressing and average. The veal was not seasoned at all and relied too much on the sauce to carry the dish. The pasta dishes were both tasty. They didn't taste home made but still enjoyable. The pizza was very tasty. Met an old friend here for lunch. I used to visit Brazi's often years ago. There's no real reason I stopped going. After this visit I'm sure I'll return again soon. A very reasonably priced lunch menu with a wide set of options. I finally narrowed it down to the personal Neapolitan pizza. Arugula, thinly sliced prosciutto, shaved Parmesan cheese, olive oil. It was delicious! I took half home thinking it would make it to dinner. It did not - took about 30 minutes at home before I finished it off. Finished with a coffee. We went for NYE. Arriving time 4pm. Felt ignored when we walked in. Finally seated our server had the right sense of humor for our party however when one felt their steak was over cooked she took the plate and came back without the veggies on it and denied it wasn't cooked to "their" perfection. Very upsetting since the steak was 45.00 and over cooked. Ending the dinner which was just ok by all of us and over priced we a couple ordered drinks to finish. the desert Pistachio Martini was all chocolate and Baileys. if Pistachio was in there you couldn't tell. again the waitress told us we were wrong and it was correct. Met a friend for a drink and apps at Brazi's in New Haven. Location was easily to find right off I95 and plenty of parking available. We were immediately greeted by the host and seated in a booth, as they do not have any seating at the bar. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She brought over bread for the table which consisted of two different kinds, a bread with pepperoni inside and focaccia with tomato sauce. We ordered two appetizers to share, fried artichokes and eggplant rollatini. The portions were generous and the food (and accompanying sauce) were flavorful and delicious. Valentines 2026 and we honestly had plans at another nearby Italian restaurant that didn't work out. On the way home we saw Brazi's, checked reviews and decided to give them a try. SO glad we did!! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed, seated quickly and it seemed Stephen (waiter) was at the table almost immediately. He asked if we would like anything to drink besides water provided, and we explained we needed a minute as first visit. We did ask for lemons for our waters which were received so quickly. We ordered the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc anda Moretti beer. He explained today's specials and left us with bread. We asked for olive oil and balsamic to dip it in and again he rapidly obliged. We finally decided to try one of today's specials which the chef calls chicken rustica. This is lightly breaded chicken breast, maybe three, in a light wine sauce with olives, artichoke hearts, bell peppers, sweet and hot cherry peppers and sun dried tomatoes. Johnny ordered the chicken francese which isn't a menu item but they happily made it. Both entrees come with soup or salad. We had one of each. The soup, omg was amazing. It was a creamy kale with chicken and beyond delicious. The salad dressing is house made and they actually sell it in bottles to go. The salad dressing was the star as only lettuce and carrots. It could use tomatoes and cucumbers for sure. But the acts entrees were absolutely over the top amazing. So much flavor in every bite. They both came with a green bean, onion, carrots and roasted garlic which was very good. I recommend adding a thin side of pasta such as thin spaghetti or angel hair with the francese to truly make it shine. Stephen, our server gave us excellent service, quietly being there without being intrusive. For dessert we split the apple tart. Now this is a must try. The restaurant is large but the tables are spaced nicely so you don't hear your neighbors conversation. My friends and I went to Brazi's for dinner this evening and I already can't wait to go back. The food was excellent, I ordered the risotto al mare and wow the portion was huge! The bowl was filled with seafood and the marinara sauce was very good. I also like that each meal comes with a soup or salad and bread for the table. You see less places doing that and I appreciate the ones that still do. The service was also excellent. The restaurant was busy and we were seated in the bar area. Our server had several tables plus he was making drinks but was still so attentive to us. He was also friendly and joked around which made for a relaxing environment and meal. I found a list online that included Brazi's as one of the "must try" restaurants in New Haven. I was honestly a bit disappointed by the food. My friends and I enjoyed our dishes but the flavors were pretty simple and lacked depth. I ordered the Vodka sauce pasta with a chicken cutlet on the side. A couple of the friends I went with also tried the chicken. We unanimously agreed that it was pretty much flavorless. I had to top it with salt, pepper, and hot sauce just to make it taste better so it wouldn't go to waste. It was really unfortunate considering the added chicken was not cheap!! What charming restaurant, partial brick, partial plaster with lots of wood. The gazebo like area is especially lovely. Our server was prompt and friendly. We had to wait a little while but the top notch food more than made up for the short wait. When I tell you that the chicken Marsala melted in my mouth....Im not exaggerating! And my children and husband ordered pizza which came out hot and delicious! I mean the best ever! And the waitress was pleasant and delightful! We really had a five star experience! Came back w a basket of two different kinds of house-made breads. There was olive oil on the table, as well as a carafe of water. Normally, I describe good bread as melting in my mouth. This was better than good...it practically dissolved in my mouth. LB and I both opted for chicken parm. Comes w a choice of soup of the day or salad. LB had the soup (chicken barley), which he thought was almost as good as his wife's, the Breathtaking Maria. My salad was perfect, and the house dressing was very excellent....a creamy, light brown vinaigrette. One quibble. I asked if the chicken parm came with a choice of pasta...Remy indicated not. It did, however, come with wilted zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots, which were very good. Loco and I both agreed the sauce was excellent, as was the chicken parm. My family and I held my uncle's repass at Brazi's Italian Restaurant and I must say that they took care of all of us in the best way possible. At first, we were in the back section but because it was so many of us, they swiftly prepared the private space in the front and moved us in there. A few of us couldn't fit so we sat back and dined in the restaurant. My aunt had already worked with them on the food selections so lunch came out family style. I couldn't eat most of it but, the waitress worked with the kitchen to bring me out gluten free pasta with veggies and olive oil. It tasted delicious and I was so grateful because I was hungry. We were there for more than 3 plus hours and the service didn't waiver. However, we did stay beyond our time frame so they sort of kindly had to usher us out but overall, I really appreciated how compassionate they were. read more

I hadn't been to Brazis in many years but suggested it for a girls night out meetup, it was a bit disappointing. The bread to the table was nice my martini was decent, my friend had the strawberry daiquiri and it was terrible. We waited close to an hour for our 3 entrees to come out and in that time our waiter was Mia, we could see him in the other side of the restaurant which is weird that they'd give him tables so far away. I had a tortellini dish in cream sauce with sun dried tomatoes and broccoli it was good but the tortellini was a bit over cooked. My friend got a caprese pizza and the tomatoes were not fresh at all on it, my other friend ordered the chicken parm which if you want it served on pasta you have to pay an extra $3 for, so strange. The mashed potatoes were light, fluffy and had small pieces of real potatoes - very good. The fish was in a light lemon sauce on a bed of fresh spinach and capers. Brazi's Italian restaurant is the place in New Haven that you go with your big Italian family for a big Italian dinner. It has a really large space for a dining and a bar area. There is also a party room that can accommodate a good amount of people. The weight staff is always very accommodating. We've brought in deserts and such for parties and they've always been willing to put it in the fridge and bring it out when it's time. We had a wonderful waitress named Christina. We went there to celebrate my dad's birthday and she was very attentive. We even ended the night with limoncello shots. The food is always great. The portions are really big. Not a single one of us was able to finish our plate, but happily brought them all home for leftovers the next day. They do a great chicken cutlet, so I had that added on top of my penne vodka. We have gone to this restaurant many times and will continue to do so. It has a nice (but definitely loud lol) atmosphere. It's very lively and homey at the same time. This restaurant I used to go to every Friday when I worked on Long Wharf. Now that was at least 15 years ago. We went to Shubert last week and we decided to go after such a long time. My first time to Brazi's and it was amazing! I had no idea it was there and I drove past it many times. We were there for a luncheon in their side room and it was such a great meal. We started with the Hot Antipasto- Fried Calamari, Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms and Clams Casino. That was definitely a hit. Next we had a choice of salad or Pasta Fagioli. Entree wise, Brazi-Style Chicken chicken with broccoli rabe and mozzarella, Sole, Eggplant Parm or Salmon. I went with the salmon and it was delicious. Our dessert was a delicious tiramisu and we also had a after dinner drink of their pistachio or limoncello. The pistachio was a total favorite for me. Yum!! Our servers were awesome with our group of over 25. Totally efficient during the meeting we were having. I can't wait to return and try their regular menu. This restaurant is true Italian food I have been going to Brazi's for years and have never had a bad meal, after multiple visits I must say this is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat and I have never been disappointed in any of my visits. If you want professional service, clean environment, and great food this is no question the right place. They start you off with freshly baked bread along with pepperoni stuffed bread bites, which are wonderful. On Easter, Alex was our server and did a terrific job. The restaurant is huge and there is room for big parties. The service is awesome. They are a traditional restaurant in a very good way. Wow, what a completely disappointing experience this was. We decided to stop in solely based off all the reviews, I swear people were talking about a different place. Food was incredibly bland, the bread was flavorless, their house dressing for the salads tasted like butter with some garlic powder mixed in, and who puts a single olive on a salad?! I had the Chicken Brazi and while it looked good it tasted of burnt spinach and cheap cooking wine. Wife had the Tortellini alla Toscana and she mentioned it tasted how Elmer's glue smells and had the texture of paste. Handicap parking was pathetic, not a single spot with enough room on the side for your side ramp handicap van. And my wife had a challenging time in her wheelchair while trying to use the bathroom, handicap stall was way to small. The bread came out hot and was delicious especially the pepperoni knots My meal was the Scrod Livornese . It was fresh scrod topped with onions, black olives, capers, plum tomatoes in a basil sauce and served over linguini. There were two big pieces of fish that had plenty of flavor from the toppings, however the sauce itself was bland . I added salt and pepper to add more flavor. Also if you ate the pasta with a spoon it made everything taste better. I saw another review where the reviewer wrote, "food portions are small you will go home hungry". Maybe it's the pizza that's small (I didn't see one), but it's hard to believe anyone would think Brazi's portions are small. I never have any leftovers, but I was just barely able to finish off my veal parmigiana. The other three in my party finished about half of their dinners, taking home the rest.
