Being from NY this is the best you're going to get in Cali and it's damn good. Great spices and fusion of flavors between the cheese, sauce and crust. Recommend The Fonz as large as you can get it with a side of garlic knots. I am quite pleased. This makes Redding feel more like a home. read more

So of course the pizza was freaking amazing and New York style but if you're once again stuck going out with family for pizza and that's not what you want this place has a beautiful salad bar, they actually had bleu cheese crumbles and a decent bleu cheese dressing! I even spotted tofu which I've never seen even at high end restaurants. They also have a good selection of wings we tried the tiki flavor which was a sweet but not too sweet. I had high hopes for this place because I heard great reviews from my social circle. I got the garlic knots, a pepperoni pizza, and the mozzarella sticks. Out of the three, the mozzarella sticks were my favorite item. They were delicious and perfectly fried. The garlic knots had a nice texture and the dough was yummy, but I feel like there was an overwhelming amount of garlic and not enough parmesan to add some saltiness to balance it out. That's more of a personal preference though. The pizza itself was ok, but only because I wanted more pepperonis than what I got, which could be fixed by asking for extra. Again, the dough/crust was very yummy and the person who rung us out also gave us lots of ranch and cheese/peppers which was a nice bonus. In the one photo with the 14 inch pizza in that huge box, I have to ask myself are they compensating for something?? My bride and I have heard good things about Fratelli's so thought we would grab a bite before our movie (we saw "The Upside" it was totally worth seeing). The line was of medium length but moving slow. My wife asked the guy behind the bar if she could get a beer to sip while we waited in line to order our pizza. He told her because she wasn't next in line he couldn't help her. The girl that eventually took our order was patient and answered our questions which I appreciated. The problem with their system is you must pay first to get your beverage. They have a good selection of beers, which is part of the issue, if you aren't familiar with the offerings at the tap, most places will give you a taste first. There were several different prices for what was on tap so she just had to pick without tasting. Who wants to pay for the more expensive beer then like the cheaper one best......moving on. We ordered the 14 inch Bullseye which was chicken onion rings, pepperoni, cheese, and green peppers. We paid $38.00 for the 14 inch pizza and 1 shared beer, not exactly a value meal. They were pretty busy but still....40 minutes was a little extreme. The pizza was ok. I liked it but I didn't $29.00 for a 14 inch pizza like it. The crust was crispy and cooked well, but without the toppings it reminded me of what a Saltine cracker tastes like. If that's your thing then order up! read more

If you want a fat slice of delicious pizza and a frothy pint, this is your joint. I feel like this may be the only place you can buy just a slice besides Costco. The prices are great--less than $4 a slice and $15 for a pitcher of Hexagenia? Whaaa?! The place was well staffed, service was friendly and quick, it was super clean, and there's a ton of places to sit. There were TVs going with sports or sitcoms but the volume was nice and low. Very impressed with Fratelli's. I ordered 3 medium sized pizzas. Vegetarian Pizza I ordered the fonz, the Madison and a pepperoni pizza. Oh and some garlic knots. All were very delicious and the crust is amazing. My favorite was the Madison. Sooooo good! Just a side note that all the mediums were big enough to be larger so we had a lot of extra pizza and their a little pricey but I don't mind spending more money for quality pizza. First time here, I decided to try out the 2 slices and a beer combo. The service was great and very attentive. The atmosphere reminds me of an old school Pizza Hut. The pizza slices were huge, and the beer selection was very good. I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of pineapple bacon jalapeño. The pizza looked very appetizing, unfortunately that was only positive. The toppings were good, just the dough and sauce was was not what I was expecting. If I was giving a 100% direct review under different circumstances I'd actually be leaving just 3*. However, I know that both of the Owners, who are Brothers, were both evacuated during the Carr fire and are struggling desperately to recover from being closed, off and with limited staff for no less than two full weeks. So, for that, and for the pleasant staff and effort I see and despite the situation, limited staff and attempt at recovery the restaurant was very clean and it was obvious this place is really trying to hold it together. That being said, the pizza was okay - a little doughy/undercooked and seemed like it need just a few more minutes in the oven. I loved both the pesto garlic knots and the garlic knots but they were served cold-ish and weren't hot but still my favorite of anything I tried. The ranch was really runny - I'd thicken it up a bit. Overall restaurant was very clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the food was just average/okay but under the circumstances and current situation not going to ding a star on that. Will go back and try again when they get re-settled because I can imagine this place is normally amazing. These guys are really trying so give them a chance - they deserve it. read more

All I can say is: OMG, OMG We're from back easy and have lived in California for 30 years. For 30 years we have eschewed eating pizza here because it's so alien to our beloved east coast pizza. Until now!!! My friend recommended Fratelli's & I was a bit skeptical because no one lived up to NY style pizza before....until now!!! I ordered a large plain cheese pie after seeing the beautiful flat triangles of pizza arrayed in the case. I was like "these are my people, they get me". No, seriously, back east everyone takes great pizza for granted, we've never had that luxury ever in California. Ever! It fits all the pre-requisites; thin crust, flexible, folds effortlessly in half, olive oil drips down the wrist appropriately, delicious flavors of cheese and tomato, neither over powering the other. Hell, they had me at "hello" just seeing the "real "pizza box being fitted with my gorgeous pie! I had to open the box just to see it again! I was overwhelmed with gratitude and thanked them and tipped them for having a great pie! For a 20"plain cheese pie it was $25, worth every penny. Same price in NY. Epilogue: As soon as I got in my car I opened the box and took a picture and texted it to my husband exclaiming you are not going to believe what I have. He texted back it looks like the real deal. You have to understand we've lived in California for so long and have never eaten pizza here because it's just s*** and people pile vegetables on it and it's wrong and it's sacrilegious and it's not what we were raised with so pardon me if I go overboard on how great this pizza is and how grateful we are for finally having something worth eating in Northern California. Great pizza and the BEST salad bar in town! The salad bar is loaded with options including locally grown sprouts, cabbage, and delicious balsamic dressing. If you are a vegetarian or wanting something vegan, the salad bar is a great fresh option. I've had their pizza about 4 times now and each time has been great! This is the closest to pizza from Italy that I have come across in this area. They also have some really delicious hot wings and garlic knots. My fav party is the 3 portraits on the side wall by the salad bar- bill Murray and Mr T profiles- it looks like they robbed an admiral from the revolutionary war and took pictures w their clothes! I wanted to like this place. I love all the old arcade machines and it's a cool location. Unfortunately, there were problems. The pizza was alright, not great-not terrible. It seemed a little overpriced, but acceptable. The real problem was the lady employee who was pretty rude and seemed to have no idea how to treat friendly customers. I've only been here once, and it was fine, but I don't have a desire to go back. The pizza was pretty good. Not my favorite and I honestly thought New York style pizza was supposed to be flatter. The crust on our pizza was super puffed up and chewy. The toppings were good though and it wasn't too greasy which is really nice. They also have peanuts at the salad bar, which is disappointing to me because I love having salad with my pizza, but I'm SUPER allergic to peanuts. I didn't factor this into my rating of them, but it is a contributing favor to why I will never return. We also got some "fried" things which were disguising. We got mozzarella sticks and the breading was puffy and cake-like. It was super gross and I would not suggest ordering those. I also found the decor and music set up weird and disjointed. It honestly seemed like a 17 year old boy had decided on all the decor choices. The music was also weird, for a Redding pizza place at least. Screamo and angsty rock basically. My biggest problem with the music though was that it was blasting from speakers on one side of the room. So if you had to sit on that side of the room, sorry, sucks for you, you don't get to talk to the people you're with. Additionally, the tvs had TERRIBLE placement. There were three, if I remember right and you have to sit in very specific spots to see any of them. The staff was nice and the beer pitchers are huge, especially for the price. Overall, there were things I really did not enjoy here and there were things that were fine. This pizza is really good. The slices are big which makes the prices respectable. I have two criticisms: 1. My pizza could have been cooked about 5 minutes longer. When I got home, I threw it in the oven for 5-7 minutes to crisp the crust a bit more and it was near perfect after that. It was good before, but an extra 5 minutes really did the za right. 2. I got pineapple on my pizza (hot take, I know) and I would say that although I admire the innovative technique of using whole pineapple rings, it definitely didn't allow me to have a sweet bite with ever savory bite. Additionally, it was challenging to bite the pizza as when I took a bite i had to ensure the pineapple would be cleanly cut and not wipe all the cheese off with it. Overall, really good pizza. Fratelli's is brand new and delicious. We went in and they are open during remodeling. The salad bar wasn't ready yet but looks like it will be very big. The pizza was delicious. They were so accommodating. The menu is currently small but they will work with you. The pizza sizes are big and bigger but they do pizza by the slice which is great. The garlic knots are to die for... a garlic lovers dream. I will be back and look forward to seeing the finished product inside. read more

Ive been here quite a few times.. That are not always consistent but still usually good. After it being hit or miss a few times the last big order I made the whole pizza was so greasy we could not eat it. It has a oil drizzle over it. This pizza looked like the cap was accidentally off & saturated. So I hate it, but I call to tell them. They say they will give me another pizza on my next visit. So we go again in about a month later which is how often I eat pizza and I order a pizza and give my name. They can't find it. I tell them what happened. The owner is there and says I only had 30 days to get my free pizza ..No one said that at the time. So this is no longer my every month spot. I get times are tough. But no offer of anything to fix it. Times are tough for me too. And throwing away the whole pizza last time was upsetting especially with how much they cost here. Customer service has gone down everywhere the last few years and its really sad. read more

Fantastic New York style pizza. Ordering by the slice is plenty of food at a reasonable price. The whole pies are pricey but are HUGE. My wife and I got 2 slices each with a soft drink for less than $20 and it was way more than enough. We easily could have just had 1 slice per person. Really fun atmosphere as well with a bunch of classic arcade games scattered throughout the restaurant. We went for late lunch and will definitely be back to check out the night/weekend atmosphere. read more

It was hot in redding today and we needed a spot to have lunch. Cynda suggested this new place that was formerly angelo's pizza. Since we wanted salads and our grandson wanted pizza and we had our son who uses a wheelchair. Cynda said there was a new business there now so off we went. Found great parking. Once inside plenty of room and large tables. Easy parking for Jason's wheelchair. The smell from the pizza was wonderful I had salad, pesto pizza and a blue moon beer. Very good pizza. The Bullseye pizza taste amazing. Chunks of chicken, fried onions, and a yummy sauce make me wanting to come back. The salad bar was also very good. Fresh. One time there was an error with our order...the pizza did not get made, so the owner immediately gave us a free pizza and a salad. I was very impressed. The art work is also very interesting. The first time we went they had a band. That was really fun. Not sure if they still do that. There's beer on tap or bottle and a large private room big enough to hold 50 people attached. Really good by-the-slice, NY style pizza. I actually came by en-route to a nearby business, the pinball machine caught my eye. The place has a cool vibe and much bigger than it looks from the outside. The person behind the counter was friendly and explained my lunch options, I got two combo slices and a drink. There were maybe four or five pre-made pies to choose from behind the counter. After getting my drink from soda fountain (next to the salad bar) and walking back to my table, I was met by a server who brought my slices on paper plate along with condiment shakers. Slices were hot with a lot of toppings and a foldable medium thickness crust with good spring and crunch balance. The sauce was very authentic and complex (good quality tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, some secret stuff that causes hints of heat and sweet), the ratios of the whole thing were all correct for me. There are a lot of decent pizza places in Redding, but if you are wanting a quality, affordable NY slice, this is the place. read more
