The pizza is really good!! Some of the best crust in town. However... the restaurant itself is filthy & ran down! Don't think it's been updated in over 20+ years. The floors are sticky and carpet thrashed. A chair broke when my father in law sat down. He is not a big guy. The tables have chips in them and are grimy. The salad bar is cheap iceberg and premade salad dressing. The all you can eat is 2 pizzas on a warmer with minimal toppings. This place needs to reinvest and upgrade!! Quick little stop for a pizza pie while driving through Redding. Lots of local fair, and the restaurant seems like it definitely caters to the Sunday football crowd by all of the football decorations. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Amazing pizza! We ordered a pepperoni and olive pizza and a combination pizza. Both were great! Their sauce is a little spicy but so yummy. Plenty of toppings. We also ordered mozzarella sticks. They were ok. The dipping sauce didn't taste like the pizza sauce at all. Very bland. Seemed like just tomato paste. The chicken wings were tasty. All in all it was a great meal. Pizza is possibly my favorite food, and consequently I try to try every place I can. Market Street makes a great pizza. I've eaten here a lot and they definitely have the best crust around town. The all you can eat lunch special is an excellent deal, $8 for pizza and salad. All the pizzas are tasty, the salad bar is fresh, and the atmosphere is relaxed. They are always showing sports on the TVs. My favorite thing is that they are a friendly, neighborhood restaurant. They have regulars who order the usual, the owners are at the register frequently and love to get to know their customers. Highly recommend! read more

I will start by saying I had a small problem on an order about two months ago. I unfortunately placed a review on social media that quickly turned into a lynch mob. The owner contacted me within 24 hours to hear me out and apologize. He insisted that my next order was on him even though I politely declined. Fast forward to last night. Again I was reminded that the order was on the house and I felt that I was a very valued customer with the Manager and staff thanking me for allowing them to make things right. The pizza is always perfection but I recently tried the sweet chili wings and they were amazing. They have a tiny hint of spice but not HOT.

So generally speaking this is my go to pizza spot when I'm in Redding. I'm from the Bay Area and our go to weekly pizza place is Skipolinis (which is always a 5 star experience.) I've probably ordered at least 6-8 times from Market St. Pizza now and with the exception of making my pizza incorrectly once (which the owner offered to remake, and I obliged) it has been consistently good. I have noticed an inconsistency in pizza quantity from when the owner is on shift from when he isn't (which is understandable). But I placed my regular order on Friday night and picked up just before closing. When I got home I noticed that the pizza wasn't golden and bubbly like it normally is, instead it was dough colored and all the toppings just slid off at the base of the pizza was soft and floppy. I got a consensus from the fam and they all agreed that it wasn't up to its usual standards. I knew they would be closed so I called the following evening after work (Sunday) but they were closed. So I followed up this morning (Monday) after they opened and explained my situation to the woman on the phone who informed me she had to speak to the owner. The owner got on the phone and I tried to tell him what happened and he cut me off short and asked me what I wanted. I just asked him to put me down for a credit for next time, but he then brought up an earlier complaint (about the incorrect pizza) and then also a no show (which I called to let them know I was in a car accident and couldn't make it because my car was totaled) and they let me know it was ok and not to worry about it. The owner then asked me why I didn't say anything when I picked up the pizza because policy was to show it to me- I told him that I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble but she didn't show it to me. He then asked me if I was sure? I said yes I'm sure, you can check the camera footage if you don't believe me, but moving forward I will make sure to check before I leave. On a side note the girls who run the counter always give 5 star customer service. He then told me he wouldn't give me a full credit but he would only give me one pizza on credit. I told him that was a $6 dollar credit because of the promo but whatever I'll take it. Moral of the story, the pizza can be really good but it's inconsistent and the owner is not looking to make his patrons feel satisfied- he would rather berate them on their past experiences rather than rectify to make them happy. Not sure if I'll be returning, I'll just have to try out some other places in town, and there's plenty to choose from. Rant over read more

Strike two. We ordered pizza a few weeks ago and went to pick it up. It was supposed to be an extra large pepperoni. Pretty simple. They said 40 minutes so we showed up about 30 minutes later. Cold. Not only cold but an xl pizza crammed into a large box. We took it out at home, not an xl at all. Called and they were super nice. Said your next pizza is on us. Fast forward to tonight. I called in our pizza order, a large chicken Supreme, mozzarella sticks and salad. The pizza would have been good, if it had been hot. It lacked cheese too. What is the deal. We called it in and got there in under 15 minutes and the bottom of the box is barely warm. Mozzarella sticks were cold too. Btw, $6 for 6, from the freezer, mozzarella sticks is excessive. I went with my dad and got the all you can eat buffet and the food was delicious. We were never waiting on pizza which is usually a hassle when you get buffets. Rick was super nice and had amazing customer service. They have all you can eat everyday which is crazy from 2-7pm. Weekends included! We will definitely be back! read more

Hate to leave a review like this for a local place but.. Came here for our family pizza night ( Friday). The condition of this place is appalling! Pizza boxes stacked all over the place, salad bar that looks as if it's from the 80's and the glass hasn't been cleaned ever maybe. Dirty dishes are stored on/ below the beer taps. My wife ordered a pitcher and I didn't touch it because of the filth. I'm sure that would have gotten me sick This place is as dirty as one could imagine. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years. Between the black carpeting, fuzz on the light fixtures over the booths, holes in the booth seats, gross dirty windows and tables. The dust on everything tells the tale. Pizza was undercooked. I picked most of the toppings off hoping to avoid food poisoning. My daughters personal pizza was served on a disposable styrofoam plate! I came here with some coworkers after working a conference down the street by the sheraton hotel by sundial bridge. The place has a decent amount of seating and some TVs on the wall to watch games. They do offer and all you can eat buffet at lunch but I opted for a 3 topping calzone. I went with garlic sauce, sausage, pepperoni, and fresh tomatoes. I will say it was the best calzone I have ever had. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The crust to filling ratio was spot on. My coworker got the pizza fries which were ok the fries were hot and crispy but maybe we would of done different toppings. The other coworker got the meatball sub which he said was pretty decent. We did have a slice of pizza from the buffet thanks to the manager. I was not a super huge fan of the pizza. However I would go back in a heartbeat for the calzone which we all three agreed was the best. read more

We decided to try this place for a late lunch seems there are such rave reviews between yelp and the redding resturant reviews facebook page. Upon walking in, that should have been my first clue, but you dont judge a book by its cover. Floor was extreamly sticky, and everything looked old and outdated and dirty. The guy working the counter was nice enough. Greeted us when we walked in. I did ask if they had juice for my 3yo, which they dont. He did offer sierra mist as a non caffine option, thanked him but said she doesnt do carbonation, so Id just grab her juice from the truck. After thinking about it, youd think ice water would be an option. Wait for food wasnt too bad. We got a small pizza for my daughter and I to split, and hubby got a french dip. Both options just seemed to lack flavor. For his french dip, he said the bread was the most flavorful part. For the pizza, the crust was very good, but sauce lacked any spices, and meats werent really noticeable flavor wise. We ordered through DoorDash and got the pizza maybe half an hour later (which I'm not at all complaining about) when I received my pizza, it was like the toppings weren't even cooked. Let alone the pizza. It honestly looked like someone had pulled a DiGiorno's pizza out of the freezer and cooked it in the oven just until it turned a tad bit brown. The sauce was basically nonexistent. All I could taste was dough. The slices were so uneven. One was the size of my hand and another was about the width of 2 1/2 fingers. My husband and I thought microwaving the pizza would make it the least bit better and hopefully a little more tastier, boy were we wrong. Tasted the same. Just hot. People in Redding may have literally a hundred choices of where to have a pizza, but there isn't one of those places where you will be better taken care of than Market Street Pizza and Deli. We had a great Sunday lunch for 16 people, in a comfortable area of the restaurant where we had plenty of room and privacy. The food was not only delicious, but very reasonably priced, none of which would matter if the service didn't measure up, but it most certainly did! The staff were outgoing and helpful. Despite the fact that we weren't their only customers, they treated us as if we were. By the way, the pizzas were huge, and the leftover pizza was delicious the next day too. These guys hooked us up!!! I was working with this group of students from various areas of Redding, and you know how kids are, they all have ADHD. Well, to make a long story short, they were getting sick of school food (We have all been there), and were begging us for something else. Alright, we will call around, and see if we can find a deal. Well the deal came from these guys. 5 large pizzas for $50. NICE!!! So I was expecting them to go skimpy, I mean come'on they gave us a deal, why not. They did not!!! Holy cow!!! Not only was the pizza killer, I only got one piece of my vegetarian pizza, because the kids inhaled it before I walked back from washing my hands. :( The kids ate a vegetarian pizza, and they all giggled when I ordered it.
