This is probably the best pizza in Redding. My favorite part is they always have vegetarian pizza available by the slice. I eat here regularly (not by choice). The pizza is sub-par--extremely greasy and lacking in flavor. If that's "authentic" NY style, then NY doesn't know a thing about edible pizza. All the appetizers I've tried have tasted bad. It usually takes a while to get a slice of pizza. Customer service has been spotty. Some employees are friendly, and some are not. The decor is...interesting. Feel free to display what you want in your own business, just don't expect everyone else to agree with you or support your decisions. I desperately miss Angelo's. I enjoy supporting local and family-run establishments, but they have to be somewhere I actually want to go. Fratelli's misses every mark. Here's my most recent experience: I arrived right at the beginning of the lunch rush. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a drink lunch combo, and an order of garlic knots with a side of ranch. They didn't have any pepperoni (at the beginning of lunch?!), so I settled for a combo slice. The soda fountain was out of two caffeine-free options, so I got Sierra Mist; it turned out to be out of syrup and was just soda water. *45 minutes later*, I'm handed a slice of cheese pizza, no garlic knots. I go back up to the counter and let them know I didn't order that. They were now out of combo and almost everything else. I could switch my cheese out for a slice of The Fonz (pineapple and some other weird toppings), or I could keep the cheese. I opted to keep the cheese. They also apparently forgot to put in my appetizer order, so they put it in right then. *20 minutes later*, I get my order of garlic knots, with a side of marinara. I gave up on getting the ranch. As an apology for making me wait, I was given two tokens for free alcoholic drinks from their bar. That would be great--I love the idea--except I'm obviously (I thought) pregnant. So alcoholic drinks tokens are completely lost on me. To top it all off, I tried the knots, and they tasted weird and were raw in the middle. To summarize, everything I ordered was either not what I ordered or not what I wanted. And I can't even use the complimentary drink tokens I was given. read more

Lots of vintage arcade games, cool bar, etc. They get a great review for stylish decor....unfortunately, I don't know WHAT these people are talking about in the reviews about tasty pizza, lol. They must be recovering their sense of taste after a bout of COVID or something. This is high school cafeteria-level pizza. Super greasy. Mediocre sauce. Run-of-the-mill crust. There is nothing remotely appetizing about this pizza. You could literally go to Grocery Outlet, pluck a $3 Red Baron out of the freezer section, heat it up....and have comparable pizza to this. Thank you, for not only having my favorite salad bar in town, and having the pinball machine that my dad enjoyed when he and my mom visited a couple of months ago, but for allowing my PTSD service dog in training (SDiT) to come inside tonight for dinner. This was his very first restaurant experience, and I was so happy to see how far he has come in his training. It's been a hard few weeks, we lost our place to live and we are trying to survive in Airbnbs until we find our next place. My SDiT and I have been turned away from a few places, but not Fratelli's. We went to Fratelli's last night with a group of friends. I was really bummed at the attitude of the owner. It seems like he's more interested in handing out free slices to the homeless people that are outside the front door than he is selling pitchers of beer to customers spending big money. THE best slice in town. Hands down. Giant slices, great prices, quick service. Many options, some of them very creative. The crust is PERFECT. Thin, CRISPY, but not scrape-the-roof-of-your-mouth crispy. Has the perfect texture. Even you non-crust eating folks will gobble this up. Also, a GREAT salad bar. Great lettuce selection (even kale and micro greens!) and an assortment of toppings. It's hard to find a salad bar in Redding. (Although on my last visit, the entire salad bar was empty!?) First off, when walking in, the place looks like the favourite teen hang in my hometown in the late 70's early 80's... Pinball/Arcade extravaganza deluxe! The pizza is even better! So I've tried. I wanted to like it, I love the location and idea. However, this place has problems. The pizza by the slice is often (about 75% of the time) over cooked because they parbake it, then let it sit in a warmer for who knows how long, then put it back in the oven to cook some more so usually it's greasy and hard to chew. They use what tastes like canned sauce and the pepperoni they use in combination with the sauce makes the pizza taste an awful lot like Red Baron frozen pizza. If that wasn't enough, I've personally purchased chicken tenders from there and so has one of my coworkers, on both occasions they were undercooked to the point of being very pink and nearly mushy in the center. In addition to the quality of the food, the crew is always in a frantic, angry mood and it shows in the customer service. I'd hope they'd see this constructive criticism and improve on what seems to be a great concept. I will say that the salad bar is fantastic and the remodel of the location looks great , but neither of those things are enough to convince me to continue to spend my money there unless they change some things. I've worked in food most of my adult life and the first two core concepts any restaurant must embrace to succeed are providing outstanding service and great food. Unless they do that I'm afraid Fratelli's could end up just like so many other small businesses in the area: out of business. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. My husband wasn't kidding when he said this place has the best mozzarella sticks he's ever had. They were SO good. And do you want to know the best part? They brought out our five freshly made sticks, and told us that one had some cheese spill out so they made us two more! That is GREAT customer service. We also had pizza and garlic knots. I always love how pizza places can make their red sauce unique. It had a wonderful flavor and it was a huge slice for only $4.50. The garlic knots were crispy on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside, and to die for. The decor in this place is epic and a must see. Completely underwhelmed after seeing all these rave reviews! I decided on a pepperoni slice and a cheese slice for an accurate trail of the pizza. The pepperoni was edible, just above Dominoes/Little Caesars, however the price is much higher. Crust/ crispiness was cardboard-esque and the sauce was bland. I ordered what I thought was a regular cheese slice and I was served a slice with several types of cheese on it. I gave it a shot and its the first time in years I have actually spat at my food in public. The cheese was sour, not enough sauce, and quite honestly the worst tasting slice I have had in years. I typically dont waste time writing negative reviews, but it was just that bad. DISCLAIMER: I have eaten pizza in Detroit, Chicago, and NY and my "pizza palette" is higher than most. The wait staff was rude and smelled of body odor. One of the girls working in there was in daisy dukes with her rear end hang out and I was in there with my family. Went to try out the pizza and salad bar after many reviews. When we walked in we were the only people there. There were several employees, it no one really greeted us. It was around 5pm. The only menus were the ones that were taped to the counter and the one written on a chalkboard above that. It would've been nice to have something hand held. Since it was just us 2 we didn't want a whole pizza so we settled for a slice and salad a piece. My husband ordered the mixed meat and I had the margarita. You could tell the slices had been sitting awhile, but in all fairness it is posted that they are previously cooked and then heated up. Salad bar was VERY clean and well stocked. Plenty to choose from. Pizza had great flavor and fresh ingredients. Price was a little steep at $25 for just the slices a piece and 1 trip to the salad bar, but worth it for us. read more

Came here specifically to have salad and pizza...showed up at 8:15pm (they close at 10pm) only to find they had already taken down the salad bar...without the salad bar, you cannot get a salad. What a treasure for Redding. My 4 year old and I won a gift certificate from here through a raffle. Honestly I remember this as Angelo's pizza and would never have come here to eat if not for the gift certificate. Oh my has it changed. First off the inside is filled with every old school arcade game you could think of. Literally hours of affordable fun for my son... and me pizza is fantastic ... tons of options, slices or whole pizzas. awesome root beer floats and plenty of adult drink options! So we came the first night and loved it so much we came the night after too. And the second night I found the salad bar. wow. fresh, and with the best goodies to put on top. Lunch special- $8.50 for a slice and a one time go through of the salad bar. What a deal! Awesome pizza. I grew up eating NYC pizza so I have considerable experience. Dough/crust is stretchy yet chewy. Has to be hand tossed. Sauce is likewise delicious. Not too sweet. Fresh toppings- generously distributed. Been working here most of the summer and they make the best pizza Ive found. Owners and staff friendly.
