Seafood bisque (soup of the day)
Emily C.

TLDR; big portions, salty entrees, decent. Came for dinner on a Sunday evening. We made a reservation since we had a big party but the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. There's actually lots of seating inside, including some separate rooms as well. We were seated and after getting bread and butter placed at the tables, our orders were taken. Service was fairly quick and staff was friendly. There were just a bit of miscommunication with what was included with each entrée (soup, salad or pasta but we thought it was soup or salad and pasta) so there were a few extra charges but it wasn't a big deal so we just paid it. The complimentary bread came warm to the table but was nothing special. I ordered the veal parmigiana with a side of meat sauce angel hair pasta and the eggplant saltimbocca to share with my fiancé. The veal was thinned out and had a nice breading around it with plenty of sauce and cheese, but it became way too salty after a few bites. The center where it was a bit thicker was more tender. The eggplant dish was very interesting, flavors that I never had before but I liked that it was different. It had a bit of a sour profile, in a nice way and the eggplant was fried well. However, the sauce that it was in made it soggy too quick, which I didn't prefer. This was also too salty. The pasta was simple and good, plenty of chunky meats in the meat sauce. I also got to try the chicken parmigiana, which had chunkier cutlets but also too salty. The gnocchi with meat sauce was just okay. The gnocchi was too mushy for my taste and the meat sauce was the same sauce I had with my pasta side, no complaints with that. The white clam sauce linguine was simple, had small pieces of clams with no shells, just alright nothing special. Overall, the dishes were too salty for me. Portions were huge but good for the price point. Nothing really blew me away.

Absolutely spectacular food and amazingly attentive service, definitely recommend.

I ordered the pasta and shrimp special, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, my daughter is vegetarian and ordered the Gnocchi Rossi, which was quite disappointing. It lacked flavor and was very bland compared to my meal. The biggest downside of our visit was the service. We were trying to enjoy some quality mother-daughter time together, but our waitress interrupted us constantly--almost every time we took a bite. We repeatedly assured her that everything was fine, yet she continued coming back to the table. At one point, while we were still actively eating, she asked if we were ready for boxes. When I said no, she replied, "Oh, okay, you're just taking your time." It definitely felt like we were being rushed rather than encouraged to relax and enjoy our meal. To top it off, we were never offered dessert or after-meal options. Despite feeling a bit rushed and annoyed by the constant interruptions, we still left a good tip because the waitress was working hard and remained polite. Overall, the food was a mixed experience, the atmosphere was wonderful, but the service made what should have been a relaxing mother-daughter lunch feel hurried.

Mckelvey was my bartender/server. She was sweet and welcoming. She mixed a terrific Negroni! Backpedaling a bit. I arrived at 6 and by the time my cocktail was in front of me there was a wait. I was disappointed with the apps.. all fried..I'm sure delish but I wasn't in the mood. I had Utica beans and kale (had the hot pepper symbol but not at all spicy ) $16 with a side meatball $6 and sausage $6. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was lively. Everything arrived quickly. Same for my bar mates. I will go back and request extra extra cherry peppers.. Oh! And get the lemon marscapone cake... worth every calorie!! Mange!

When we arrived the place was packed, but sure enough, our table was waiting. First came water. Then our server Lydia came over to ask for our drink order. Because I was driving back home, I only wanted one craft beer for the evening. My wife was having wine. We each ordered the Caesar salad, which was half of a Romaine lettuce sliced lengthwise dressed with cheese and dressing. It was tasty, but a lot of food. I ordered the fra Diavlo seafood pasta with rigatoni. My wife had one of the specials, which looked a bit like beef on weck without the sesame seeds. Mine was good, but not all spicy like I was expecting. Hers was actually quite good. Both were loaded with garlic, which seems to be a staple of this place. Because it was a Friday evening and the place was packed, the noise level was quite high. This was especially true because behind me were two large tables of noisy diners. Once they left it was back to a more normal level. Our server Lydia was terrific. Overall staffing was quite good. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Well go back!

I had the burger, which was a super generous portion. the burger itself was huge and the portion of fries were even bigger!
