Father's Day, 7:30 pm. Restaurant was empty. Should have been our first clue, but we were traveling the next day and just wanted a quick meal. It took forever to arrive, and first mine came, 5 minutes later my husband's. In a few minutes, our server started vacuuming. I asked her to please wait until we were finished eating, and we had barely begun since the food was so delayed in arriving.She stopped. A few minutes later, she shouted to a manager if she should start putting the chairs on the tables and then promptly started to do that. Again, I asked her to stop. She replied, "We have a routine here." I said that she also had 2 customers who were still eating, and that if this was the way it was going to be, they had just lost us for future visits. Her response was that she didn't need my "attitude" and that if we "hadn't come at the last minute" , these things would not have happened. (Again, we arrived at 7:30; scheduled closing time was 9:00.) At that, my always-calm husband pushed back his chair, got up, and headed for the door, our food still sitting on the table. read more

I came here for their lunch specials and am pleased with what's on their menu. I ordered the thin crust vodka with chicken on top and I enjoyed every bite of it! Staff was friendly and quick to serve my food. The place is decently sized and tables are well spaced out. Food is good and hot but service stinks! Had to ask for plates, bread,straws etc. They aren't good at communicating for example my husband was waiting for his soup. Never going back there; plain and simple. (quick back story, family and I have been going there weekly for the past 6 months. Never a wait as about 80% of tables are always open). We go last night, seat ourselves, and wait 10 minutes just for a server to come by. I had to go to the front and ask if anyone saw us sit down, only to get a nasty stare and a 'one moment' finger from a female on the phone. Once the waitress comes by, she tells us it's her second shift working and to take it easy on her. We order our appetizer and two pies. She asks if we would like bread, to which we say of course. Well about 10 more minutes go by, appetizer comes out but no bread. Look at the table, there's no small dishes. I look for her, nowhere to be found. So I grab a few dinner sized plates myself. Few minutes go by, she comes back and tells us 'bread will be out soon, it's still being prepared'... What? It's bread. Didn't know the bakery was delivering it. Then I present to her a coupon for a free appetizer, value to $10. She comes back and says it won't be accepted because the appetizer was $11.75. Told her I understood and asked how come we can't just pay the difference. She said she'll ask the boss. Comes back to just say 'I'm sorry, they said no, pay full price'. She apologies but I tell her it isn't her fault, just horrible management. Annoyed but settling up the tab, this short, old guy (assuming owner?) stared us (my disabled father and 4 year old son) down and essentially walked us out the door and stated 'no need to come back' when we walked outside. Had my sons first birthday party here. Can't say enough good things about it! The tables were all set and the decorations hung when we arrived. The appetizers and the pizza were great! Everyone had such a nice time and said the food was delicious. The staff was so so nice and friendly and they were totally top notch on serving and helping with whatever was needed to help make my life easy. This is the third time with in the past year that the service and the food has been absolutely horrible. WE ARE NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN We sat down at 6:30 and received our drinks within 5 minutes. Our order was taken 5 minutes later.. 45 minutes later our food arrived as we were getting up to leave to go somewhere else. What did not arrive was bread before the meal, refills on drinks, the salad I ordered, a post food arrival check to see if we needed anything. it would have been nice to have Parmesan cheese in the least. Edit: Immediately after posting my review, the owner messaged me and had the store call me as well to apologize and address the issues. I appreciate the quick response and willingness to amend the problem! Tried this place for the first time tonight. We ordered one Sicilian pie and some garlic knots for delivery, which we were told would take 45 minutes. Took over 2 hours to get to us, even though we called after an hour and were told it would be to us shortly. When it did finally come, the delivery driver called and said she couldn't find my house, so my husband had to walk out to her car to pick up the food. She gave him an attitude when he asked for some change, and told him she didn't have enough cash to give him the change he asked for. Pizza box was crushed, so the cheese stuck to the top of the box, and the bag with the garlic knots was crushed as well, so the cup of sauce was broken and spilling inside the bag. We have been going to Fratelli's for years, even held an event in their party room. While we love the food the service across the board is atrocious. I can almost guarantee that when we order delivery at least part of the order will be incorrect. We no longer order delivery now. I just called to order food and the girl who took my order was clearly distracted and ended up having a screw up when we went to pick up. Honestly I'm not sure where they find the people they bring on but they have to do better. It's such a shame because the food is great. read more

The food was decent. We shared a large order of fried calamari which was cooked well, and the sauce was tasty. We all ordered pizza, I had a four cheese pizza that was good, but lacked in flavor. I did get fried eggplant on top and the Eggplant was limp and soggy. Maybe one of their other pies might have been more flavorful. The service, terrible. We were one of only two tables in the place, so it's not like they were busy for the server to forget everything. She asked us if we wanted bread, we said sure, bread never came. I asked for oregano and garlic, didn't come until I had to ask a second time. We waited a very long time after eating for her to come back to us. Asked for the check and boxes to take our leftovers home. Took even longer to get the check but boxes never came. We had somewhere to be, so at this point it's beyond frustrating. We finally were able to pay and had to again ask for boxes. I'd go back, despite the terrible service, and give it another try. Or if anything, order take out or delivery. read more

I really want to love this place. The food is good, albeit sometimes inconsistent. But what is consistent is the horrendous service. Whether you eat in, get delivery, or take out, you get shafted. Waitresses look and act high, completely forgetting to put in orders resulting in your waiting even longer to get your food. They barely offer refills: you have to ASK for refills. Delivery at 12pm on a weekday takes 1 hour even when you're located across the street (I shouldn't have, but I was vehicle-less for the day). Then when you pick up, they put your food in five different places, don't bother to check if all the items in your order are there, then when you get home to find out something's missing, they tell you to come back and get it yourself because "it's an hour to deliver." You oblige, ask them to remake the dish because obviously that dish you left behind is now old and soggy, then they tell you it will be another half hour. AWFUL. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. As much as I want to like this place (because the food is generally good) and patronize a local business, the owners need to start 1) hiring people who have at least half a brain, 2) take random drug tests of their staff, and 3) training their staff. When you come into a restaurant and one waitress is sitting around the entrance looking bombed out in her red UGGs on a 90 degree day, you should know something's up. ***UPDATE: Just heard from the owner and she really seemed genuinely interested in my concerns and making things right. Like I've said, we like the food a lot. My husband can't get enough of the veal parmigiana, and I can't get enough of the eggplant parmigiana. The vodka sauce is delicious, and so is their scallopine. My kid loves the pizza and every dish on the kid's menu. It would be hard to take this restaurant off the list, so based on how responsive the owner has been, we will give this another a shot. read more

These idiots try to fax my home phone every Sunday night after 10 o'clock. My husband called and they said they would stop. They have not. I am eight months pregnant and it continued tonight and woke me up just like every Sunday for the past several months. They are rude, inconsiderate and have basically been harassing me. I have never ordered from there and never will. The woman I spoke to blamed me for the fact that they were harassing me. If there food is anything like their competence in taking care of their mistakes I wouldn't eat there for fear of somehow catching Ebola from their food. read more

Ok, so the only reason they get a second star is because the food was good. The chicken franchise was tasty with a nice tang to the sauce. Was there for a family dinner this weekend. We had a reserved room and the place was otherwise empty. The waitstaff was all over us to order our meals, but we had to hunt them down to order drinks. Refills never happened and we had to practically beg for more pitchers of water for the tables. Food was delivered sporadically, so that half the party was done before the other half had their food. Dessert was apparently not an option nor was coffee, despite asking for both, we got the check instead.... and here's where the fun starts. We split the bill evenly, the money was counted by 5 separate family members. Miraculously almost $100 went missing from when we handed the money to the waitress to the register. Last night I called for a delivery at 6:30 and was told "45 minutes"...at 8:30 I called back and was told the order was ready but the computer had deleted my address somehow and they'd send it right out. I then asked them to please not send me food that's been kept hot for 2 hours and was assured they wouldn't. Forty-five minutes later it came...pizza so overheated that the crust broke like crackers! Good enough if you don't really care for pizza... As other reviewers mentioned there was entirely too much sauce on the pizza. The cheese was pretty low quality. The antipasto dish did provide a good assortment of cured meats and cheeses, although none were very high quality; nothing better than what you could get at ShopRite. Went to Fratelli's based on the suggestion of a local as quoted as "some of the best pizza in Middletown." If Frateli's is the best Middletown has to offer, then there is no hope in this pizza forsaken neighborhood. Where do I begin? Ordered Mozzarella sticks and three slices. One sausage, plain and mushroom. Once the sticks came out I knew we were in trouble. The sauce was 100% thick, tomato pastey awfulness... The mozzarella sticks themselves were a soggy, limp shell which homed imitation cheese product that was semi hard. Strange for something that came right out a deep fryer. The pizza itself was just horrendous. I could not get past half a slice. Eating anything more would have been torture, yes it was that bad. The crust was doughy, soggy, the sauce on the pizza was the same tomato paste crap from those stinking mozz sticks and the mozzarella on the pizza was of low quality. It has to rank up as some of the greasiest I have had in my time of consuming pizza. Low quality garbage. And it all starts with the low quality products this place is using. Okay, it is in a strip mall. The entrance looks like any run of the mill grab a slice pizza place. Walk through that to a so-so dining room, but don't let that push you off. Opening the menu I find one of the specials is pappardelle (fresh made) with a bolognese sauce. Got the calamari. The calamari was suppose to be hot, but it was not. The calamari was perfectly fried though a bit over salted. But, then the entree's arrived and were great. My pappardelle was perfect. The sauce was flavorful and coated the pappardelle just the right way. The other entrees were chicken franciase and penne in vodka sauce. I would happily return. read more

Me and my family have been getting pizza from here for almost two years now and I got to say that it's not that bad at all. We used to get its plain pizza and it was actually pretty good for a while but then over time you could tell the quality was going down, each time we got it it seemed to be a little worse and it started to make me feel sick after a slice or two. So we tried something else from here, nothing fancy just a simple margarita and it was honestly really good. It was made like a margarita should be. After that we wanted to try something else and we got the Neapolitan from here, and we were not disappointed. It was really good. We also have tried the cavatelli with broccoli and it was also delicious. The final thing we tried from here were the French fries and they were your typical battered fries from a place like this. (Don't get me wrong I love fries like this but it wasn't anything fancy) The main reason I'm give this place a 4 stars instead of a nice 5 is the bad service. I can deal with someone with a bit of sas but that wasn't the issue here. It was that they didn't wear masks, even before you didn't have to. Also sometimes the people making the pizza weren't wearing plastic gloves which honestly disgusts me a bit. I went in with a friend of mine for dinner and we were not disappointed at all.Love the layout of the restaurant especially the side room with brick oven pizza. The Ingredients are super fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. The brick oven pizza is great, they use good cheese and the sauce was perfect. The dinners are very good as well. I ordered the linguine with Bologna Sauce and it had such great flavor.The traditional Sicilian and grandmas are great choice if you feel like something different. My friend and I shared a Large Antipasto that was a great way to start our dinner.My friend ordered a meatball parm. and she said it was awesome. We split a piece of Italian Cheese Cake which was a great way to end our dinner. I will be back to try some other dishes that appealed to me. read more
