Ordered food two hours ago still not delivered. Called to complain and their answer was it's out for delivery.

Gianni's Pizzeria to the rescue!!!! After having a terrible experience at an earlier restaurant, we decided to go back home to eat. Anyway, right before we got on the Garden State Parkway, we came across Gianni's Pizzeria. Anyway, we ordered two plain and two pepperoni pizza slices. The crust was thin and crispy. The pepperoni pizza was outstanding. I never had such excellent pepperoni pizza! The pieces of pepperoni were much smaller than I've ever had. The pepperoni quality was excellent. In addition to my delight, they had Coca-Cola. Some places only have Pepsi. Customer service was very good in this small pizzeria. All staff were masks. The two indoor tables were spaced more than 6 feet apart. We ordered an antipasto to go. The antipasto was just okay. We thought the meats were a little too salty. Anyway, if we're ever back in the area, we would definitely stop in for their wonderful pepperoni pizza. Gianni's has street and a private back parking lot. read more

Gianni's is the best sub or sandwich place around. I get a Grilled chicken sub with mozzarella, roasted peppers and balsamic glaze. I am yet to find a place to make it better than Gianni's. They also have the best caesar salads and I get a salad from almost anywhere. They have unfortunately messed up my order a few times and do take a while to deliver on weekends but it is definitely worth it. read more

I had the Antipasto "DI CASA" for lunch today. It's packed with so much Italian flavor! Try it for yourself because it's hands down the best salad around. I called to place an order and instantly was turned off by the lack of service and care for the customer. The person that answered the call was rude, and seemed like he was having a really bad day or hated his job. I can't comment on the food because I don't care to give a place my business, especially if they can't even treat their customers respectfully. If they don't care to answer the phone with a little respect then I hate to see how they prepare their food. So I decided to try the food here and it's not for me! It's average. An unassuming joint. Who'd have thought the food is outstanding and service is quite good, unlike the other reviews. I ordered the shrimp special. They really cooked it right there and then. I had to wait about 15 minutes. The bread was very fresh. The dish I was pleasantly surprised that they used the Chinese type or brocolli instead of the usual ones. I've been to Gianni's three times, each time hoping for a better experience. This was the last time I will be going. I have often heard people rave about this place but I am confused as to why. I ordered a grandma pie and fried calamari as a pick up order. I only live a mile away. I was told the wait was 35-40 minutes. I got there 30 minutes in and my order was ready and sitting on the counter. I drove home ONE MILE and opened up the box and stuck cold pizza in my mouth. Not even warm. COLD. The calamari was room temperature, soggy and incredibly chewy. I paid $23 for a grandma pie which is quite expensive and $13 for soggy calamari. Incredibly disappointed in this place all three times I went. Also, note to owner: I don't know if by law your kitchen staff is supposed to be wearing masks but in this day an age with everyone concerned about COVID, you should keep the door to the kitchen CLOSED if your staff aren't wearing masks. Not a good feeling to pick up food to go and see 4 guys huddling over food on a kitchen counter not wearing masks. read more

Really nice salads and the margherita pie and grandma pie are very good. The famous salad pie is a fun idea, but I'm not particularly fond of it, nor their standard neapolitan. Finally, it's a bit pricey for what you get (other than the salads, which are a good value). read more

Great Pizza - better than the rest. Reminds me of the pizza we used to get in Little Italy. Generous on the toppings, great take out dinner menu. The Chicken Parm is a favorite in our house. Better for pick up than delivery. Delivery is hit or miss. Some days the pie comes piping hot in 20-30 minutes and other days over an hour arriving freezing cold and needs a reheat in the oven. read more

Pizza is really good; though last time it wasn't as good. Pasta fagioli is the best around! Love it. Salad is ok. The vinaigrette dressing is really bitter and some of the lettuce was bad. Eggplant parm is pretty good, the subs are better at Attilios across the street but Attilios is sketchy/dirty and they don't take credit cards. Not bad! It's never easy to review based on pre-made slices, but I bet it would be even better for a custom pie. I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of Grandma's pizza (marinara, mozzarella, and maybe basil?). The pepperoni was ok - I liked the thin crust and the cheese/sauce/topping ratio was perfect, but the crust could have been more salty and the pepperoni wasn't flavorful enough for me. However, the Grandma was excellent - delish marinara really made the flavors stand out. Yum! read more

I'd like to rate it higher because the food is very good. However other locations are much more hospitable and nicer with their phone etiquette. I was told 45-1 hour for delivery and once I called after an hour and half they reacted like I was crazy for inquiring. I can understand if you're busy just being nicer goes a long way read more

This place has excellent pizza! The delivery is fast, the people are friendly, and most of all the pizzas good. They have a good sauce to cheese ratio and the crust is the right thickness. Don't get me wrong, I've had many other experiences at other pizzerias and they have been better but this is very very good. Actual restaurant is quite nice. There used to be an old flower shop here for many years. They completely renovated the place and did a wonderful job! Do yourself a favor and grab a slice! read more

It's a shame they're attitude is so piss poor because the food is excellent. I will use the Neptune location from now on. And once I told a friend about our shitty service, they said they don't use that location anymore for exactly the same reason. Essentially, we ordered for delivery on a Sunday, just as they opened. I get it. You're busy. We were told it would take an hour for delivery. Fine. When an hour hit and no delivery, we called, and were told flatly that they said it would be an hour, the guy in the background confirmed he told everyone it would be an hour, they basically didn't give a shit. Didn't call to see where the guy was. No offer of any kind of help or discount or apology. Cold, cardboard-like pizza was delivered. I'm done. Learn some customer service, guys. An apology goes a long way. But attitude loses customers. read more

One of my favorite local pizza spots. Terrific Cheesetaks and pizza, would recommend to anyone, until tonight. Very disappointed that it takes 1 hour to make a cheesesteak. Literllay just ordered a cheesesteak and it took and hour. Waited in the restaurant for half hour. I understand I hit the restaurant at prime time and saw tons of orders waiting to be taken out. When you notify the customer their order is ready and they get there and it isn't; it is your fault. I understand there are complications in the kitchen , but assure the customer you are sorry and it's going to be a couple of minutes. This man could NOT Have been any ruder to me in my entire life. After waiting 40 minutes for a SALAD. I asked if they forgot to make it. He was so pissed I asked that and goes our app is broken, we're backed up you're gonna have to wait. 10 more min goes by and he hands me the salad , I reply thank you and he doesn't even answer. I'm sure no one will read this but Gianni's if you do, the customer service I just received Actually make me wanna cry. The biggest disappointment. Order a vodka pie that is supposed to have vodka sauce tomato sauce heavy cream onions and prosciutto. When I got home I thought they accidentally gave me a plain cheese pie. I called and they said no it's right, taste it. I tasted it - 100% no prosciutto and no sauce. I called back and the man told me to send a picture. I sent these with no response. I called again and he gave me a phone number- different from the first time. I said one moment while I send them and he hung up on me. When I called AGAIN he told me this is correct and that there's no tomato sauce on a vodka pie. I read back the description to him which lists tomato sauce and prosciutto and he said yes that's all on there. ??????? He was not apologetic and offered no solution except to "make another one." Why would I want that. I've been here many times and I've loved my previous orders but I am so upset about the way this was handled - like I had to prove to him there wasn't any sauce on it just for him to dismiss me. $18 in the trash. read more

Plain cheese pizza review only: Gianni's is a bit too far from me for delivery, but any time I am in the area I'll pick up a pie here. They make a great pizza! The sauce is tasty and the pizza is cooked a bit longer than most other places without having to ask for it to be well done. This gives the pie a slight crunch when biting into it. I despise a soft doughy pizza. The pizza has a bit of chew to it as well which makes me think of a good NYC pizza. read more

Stopped in here one day after the wait was too long at Rizzo's. I was already skeptical because I had some issues with the Red Bank location. The review by Jared C is exactly what I experienced. Staff is unprofessional. I was "greeted" by a young girl who could care less about me and was busy flirting with another customer who I assume goes there regularly. She was playing with her hair while taking my order then handling my food. I was careful to not eat the crust after she touched it. There was another kid working there who just played on his phone even while helping customers. The place is a dump and had all the windows and doors open. There were bugs and flies flying around. The place is seriously scary. The sad thing is the pizza isn't where they fail. It's actually good. The unprofessional staff and the unsanitary premises are what needs to be improved. read more

Its your typical pizza place. I will say their "grandma" pizza is not impressive. The one thing this place does head and shoulder above everyone else is their cheese steaks. Way too expensive for a pie and they try to make it up by giving you a $2 coupon of on orders over $15 but keep in mind they charge a $2 delivery charge so you basically do not save any money. I've ordered delivery a bunch of times, and while their delivery times can be a bit inconsistent, it's mostly frustrating because I'm always anxiously waiting for THEIR food. If you're in the mood for pizza, try their Grandma's Pizza. It's their take on a thin crust sicilian, and comes with fresh basil, mozzarella and big gobs of fresh garlic. Even though it usually isn't piping hot by the time it gets to me, it tastes even better than it smells, and satisfies without being heavy and greasy. They also have some big, tasty fork-and-knife worthy wraps (try the Florentine on whole wheat), nicely seasoned meatballs, and heaping plates of pasta (both alredo and eggplant rollatini are especially yummy). I'd stay away from the obviously non-Italian things that you could get better at a more traditional sub shop, like fries and chicken fingers, but my friend swears by their special steak which comes hot, toasted, and packed with juicy steak, peppers mushrooms and cheese, and the prosciutto panini. Food is always decent, but I suspect you'll have a better experience if you dine in or pick up. They haven't messed up an order, but waiting for the delivery guy gets pretty annoying. read more

Had the grandma pie! This is the best twist on it i've seen! Remidned my of my grandmothers pizza dough, think fluffy bread with olive oil! Cheeze on the dough then sauce on top. Sauce was a LITTLE too sweet and a little to much garlic for me.... but was still great! Haven't tried anything else, and haven't seen a roach yet... so i'll go with my four stars.Definitely up there on my list! read more

Sorry new to this site....hope I'm doing it correctly. Gotta say...for a slight hole in the wall type spot, this couldn't be further from the truth. Giannis has a vast amount of pasta dishes, endless wraps, build your own salads, sandwiches, and of course pizza. Mostly clean, could modern the place up a little bit. (But lets be honest its about the food) But what separates this place from most pizzerias, is the customer service. The guys are nothing but sweethearts. The owner Jim, i believe his name is very kinda and welcoming and willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy and ensure a great experience. The kid i assume is the only person i see there when jim isn't there, Jack maybe?...Is an absolute sweetheart, very jovial and always willing/able to make small talk and always seems very upbeat, all while doing 3-4 other things on the busy nights, like most of them. These things matter to me, everyone seems to know the customers names before they even get to the counter to say hello. You can tell the 2-4 or how every many guys run the show care about what they're doing. Probably eaten their 30 times whether it be pick up or delivery (which despite living in Allehurst area) has never taken longer than 40-45 minutes, the later durations being on busy nights after fair warning from the guys. But I tell you what the younger guys and Jim are class acts. For a rather tiny little building they make the most of it, and handle massive lines of college kids (I'm assuming) and families. I try to tell everyone how much of a hidden gem this is, not the best parking situation but its worth it. Brought a group of i think it was 6-7 and the Jack kid took our entire order without even writing it down;something I don't know if I've ever seen for someone take 6-7 peoples dinner orders, drinks and appetizers down flawlessly if I remember correctly. But it isn't just Jimmy and Jack, everyone who I've spoken with are nothing but polite, down to earth, kind folk. Compared to across the street where, they make you feel l like your the lucky one for being ins their ses pool of a eatery. Food recommendations: Chicken Portabella Wrap, Grandmas Pizza (best I've ever had), Stuffed Shrimp Salad, and the cheesesteaks are also the best I've had eaten. If you get pizza or italian once or twice a week and do not go there, your making a mistake. LOVE YOU GUYS NEVER CHANGE P.S. I was waiting for take out and customer was very rude about something that was misread or lost in translation...and these guys take it with a grain of salt and just take care of business, offering discounts in the future or credit.
